Personally, I'd be surprised if SMG ever, or at least in the foreseeable future, agreed to reprise the role of Buffy. Not sure she was a happy camper when it was over with. Besides which, the ratings slide from season 7 makes that a less than appealing venture. IMO

According to a posyter at another site (who said he was one of the rpeorters there) this was actually an interview with severalr eporters from different outlets, not just TTV, hwich explains among other things the overlap of some questions.

Poor Aly, getting lost in Naples It's a scary place even for those who live there, it must be ten times worse when you're a tourist and don't know the language. I live at 15 mins from it, and *I* get cautious when I have to go there! It's such a beautiful city, tho.

And I can't still get over the fact that Aly was in my area!! Probably passed through my town as well!

Me too I missed her when she was in London because that darn roof came down and now I read she was in Germany for football (yes, I wont write soccer)??

You're not the only one WR, I think it's adorable.

I've noticed (or maybe it's just me) that as time has gone by she's gotten more reluctant to say she'd reprise the Willow role. As soon as Buffy was over she'd seemed more enthusiastic about revisiting, but now less so. Not that I'd blame her.

I also think she is 'too old' for Buffy now and she is doing comedy now, changes perspective. And really, what would Buffy be without Sarah? I think it would have been and would be, a really bad idea to make a movie now that would probably be crappy... it would just destroy the Buffy Legacy

although i disagree with making a movie now would be crappy. i reckon if joss wrote the script, not necessarily he direct...i mean he must somewhat assist in helming the movie should it be made, it'll be awesome, regardless of alyson's age (or her looking more than collegey now) dadida.

plus, i think for a lot of fans (i'm pretty sure at least 70% of her fans hail from the buffyverse ;P), the view of alyson will always, first and foremost, be willow. ;D

There's all kinds of things that can be done in the Buffyverse with older characters. But one thing to recall as that creative and interpretive people (not just actors but also writers,d irectors,a nd, in the case of TV, producers) don't want to re-tread the same old ground over'n'over. The only thing creative that I for one think could be done with Willow is a physical reunion with Tara and that topic exists in several other threads.

Great Interview. I dont know how I feel about Aly reprising Willow.. or any kind of a buffy movie. Im starting to think its just been much too long and it would kind of be a mockery

Personally, I think it is just a convenient excuse to tell people so that she can get on with whatever she wants to do. A Marti Noxon interview just put out discusses ideas they had for continuing the Buffyverse, and none of them actually had Buffy in them. In fact, Faith was the leading candidate, which we all knew, but the writers felt that such a change would be good.

The actual interview, I felt, was mainly boilerplate, not very original, and with questions that Aly has been asked many times before- and this is no comment on Aly, whom I love. I wait for the day when someone actually asks her a deeper question, akin to what Shiai did with Amber Benson, and to which he got one hell of a great interview with her.

Thanks for the great interview! I really wish that Joss would make a spinoff Buffy movie about Willow! That would be so cool! As much as I luv Gromit, Will definitely wins for best sidekick! Alyson's the best!
