Future Alyson roles

Now that 'Buffy' is in it's death throes, I've been thinking about what Alyson will do in the future. Since Amber has a thread for future roles, I thought Alyson should have one too.

One of the first things that came to mind was a comic series. I can't remember it's title, but the main character was a 'good' female vampire with red hair. If that was ever made into a movie, I'm sure Alyson would be a great choice for the lead.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what they would like to see Aly in?

I'd like to see Aly in a non-comedic movie. (i love AP, don't get me wrong.) We've seen on Buffy and in her other rolls that she can convey a wide range of emotions beautifully, and I'd like to see her in a deep thought provoking movie.

With Amber kind of free now too, maybe she and Alyson can hook up and star in a romantic-comedy movie. I know I'd see that maybe 80 dozen times or so!

Glad to see this thread back--I'll just repeat my previous "desiderata"



I'd very much like to see AH in a "period" role, say:

1. something 18th or 19th century, with wonderful costumes full of crinolines, flounces, etc. etc. etc.

2. maybe something of the "toga and sandals" variety--ancient Greece or Rome.



I'd also very much like to see her in some cinematic version of a "classical" theatre part: Shakespeare, Sheridan, Shaw, Chekhov, Miller, O'Neill, etc. etc. etc.

I agree with willntlover. I want to see her in something serious (even tho I liked the AP movies - first time I ever saw her).



I wonder how Aly would do in a non goofball nerd role? I know she was in some bank heist movie with Alexis where she plays a heroin addicted junkie who keeps getting beaten up by her boyfriend. Apparantly it was soooooo bad that it was only released in theatres in, like, Malaysia and Australia. You can't even buy it on DVD here either...also apparantly only in M/Australia (I wanted to check it out).



PS - Just checked IMDB...it was called "Beyond the City Limits" or "Rip Off" depending on where it was released.

I would give you my opinion but I can't bring myself to watch it. Alyson has said that that was one of her worst filming experiances. Aparently the director couldn't decide what he wanted from one minute to the next.



As for future roles I would love to see her in something that shows off her range. A dramady would be nice. In a romantic comedy I fear Aly would be delegated to the obligatory best-friend-of-the-lead role. I can see her being pigionholed into a permanant supporting player so easily.

She would be great in an ensamble role. She just plays so well off of other people. I'd love to see her outshine everyone else on the screen and all she needs for that is a great script.

At the threat of seeing her type cast I would think she would be greaqt if they ever did a movie based on the video game "Bloodrayne".



Count me as someone who would love to see Aly and Amber together in anything as well.

mmm, after "dopplegangland," I am convinced that aly's acting range is like infinity looped. I would love to see her carry a really great dramatic film, something where she could shine like the star she is. of course, in my little fantasy world, she and amber could star in their own spin-off show (this works because in my little fantasy world, the last 5 minutes of "seeing red" never happened). their show could be called "extra flamey," and it would revolve in equal measures around them using magic for good to save the world and guide young, impressionable wiccans on their path...and of course, the w/t sweetness

After all the stuff I've seen Alyson Hannigan in (movies, tv shows and whatnot), I really don't know what kinda role I would love to see her in after BtVS comes to an end. She is a very VERY talented actress and would do fine as any kind of character. Y'all have mentioned some in which Ally would kick ass. So, whatever Ally decides to do next, I'd be happy with. As long as she just doesn't completely disappear off the face of the Earth .



Two things now, isn't she currently filming AP3 or American Wedding or whatever the hell? And, am I the only one who can't download any of the clips from "Beyond the City Limits" from that Dutch site? =/

I think I'd love to see Aly in a play or film written, directed by and starring Amber Benson. It wouldn't have to be a lesbian film (but that would be nice ).

I'd really like to see how they would react to one another onscreen safe and far away from Jay-Dubya.

Nice to see this thread getting such a good response.

I agree that it would be wonderful if Aly and Amber could appear together in something else. If their characters were lovers, that would be perfect. But having them just be friends would be fine.

I also agree that Aly should have a starring role, not just a supporting one. Personally, I thought Willow should have her own spin-off when I first saw Season 4, even before Tara/Amber appeared. A Willow & Tara show would be a dream come true.

I tend to prefer scifi/horror films, but only if the characters are interesting. If Aly was in such a film, interesting characters would'nt be a problem.

Monika, the site is German.

The front page has no news/info about their download section being unavailable.



But this happens from time to time. It's ok that we have to wait to get those things, once in a while, since this site has so many good vids.

ok, this may sound crazy, but I had a dream couple nights ago and it was about a promo for a new tv show that was a cross between 'Sex in the City' & 'Ally Mcbell (prolly spelled wrong) Anyhoo, Alyson was the lead and she even sang!!!



other than that I will look forward to and love anything She does in the future. And anything with Amber and Aly together would be awesome!!!

I too would *love* to see her in a period role, or something really dark.

A physiological thriller, something like that. A role that she could just blow everyone away in.



Or maybe just something where she gets to wear something similar to her costume from The Wish again.



That would make me perfectly happy.
