Tara's Willow Cafe

Postby WilTaraFan » Tue Jun 18, 2002 4:28 pm

Mods, feel free to move this wherever if this isn't the right place for it. I was passing by a website and I found a link to this page. www.pacifict.com/ron/tw/

The interesting thing here is there's a restaurant called Tara's Willow Cafe. I just saw the pic and I had to show it. If it's inappropriate, close this thread. The note on the page said that the restaurant was there before Willow and Tara became the next hottest thing on tv. But I thought it was interstiing to see, nonetheless. Here's the pic.

Kudos!!!

It's a very small hole in the wall in Menlo Park. Some of the Bay Area Kittens made a trip there in January for breakfast.

Officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

That is so adorable. Did the owners have W/T in mind, or is it just a happy coincidence that brings a smile to W/T shippers?

Oh, what does "shipper" mean exactly, and where does the term come from? The English major :) wants to know!

:) Pff, self-control: who needs it... Don't beat yourself up over it, Penrose. I'm sure VampWillow would say "Bored now" to repression of exhilirating emotions ;)

Yeah, I've also wondered where the word "shipper" came from, Arafel (study English and that's what you get, I guess ) I think it might have something to do with the word "ship" (or not). I associated with boats rocking from side to side, soulmates getting into it for the journey of a lifetime (and many more to follow), through the storms and the quiet waves, calm sea... But maybe that's just me diving into a "stream of consciousness" again (what's up with me and water metaphors today...)

I think the most logical expaination for Shipper is from Relationship. ie: Angel/Buffy Shippers, Riley/Buffy Shippers and of course WT Shippers.

LOL Ah, that explains it... everything, really. I am so not a logical person most of the time. My motto: Why take the easy road, when you can go it the hard way ? I mean: I ship W/T after Xena (talk about bumping your head twice ) Nah, soulmates rule supreme ! Thanks for answering what turned out to be a simple question, WiccansIllusion ;)

I had heard about this place previously, so when I was visiting the Bay Area last month I wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, nobody seemed to know where it was located. I guess I should have inquired at the kitten board before I left for my vacation. Oh well, maybe next time.

Rally: I did get to see Barry Bonds hit two home runs at PacBell when I was in town. I’m not sure if that makes up for missing out on Tara’s Willow Café though

Rosenberg, the place is not that hard to find, it's pretty close off the 101. But trust me, visiting Pac Bell Park is a much more interesting experience than visiting this little dive. While I didn't dine there myself, just had coffee, the place is truly a hole in the wall. It seats maybe 30 people and the only thing even remotely BtVS related, was one of the regulars had a Scooby Doo mug.

So Barry went yard twice, but the important question is did you have any garlic fries, a cha cha bowl or a baby bull?

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

Re: Tara's Willow Cafe

By the fourth inning I was overcome by garlic fumes from the Stinking Rose and had to head over to McCovey Cove to be revived by the refreshing smell of fish. Other than that, I had a very enjoyable time as I watched the Giants take two from the Reds. I limited my food intake to a hot dog and popcorn (both mercifully without garlic). A baby bull wouldn’t somehow be related to Orlando Cepeda, would it?

While disappointed that I missed out on the splendor of Tara’s Willow Café, I did manage to see Willows Shopping Center, Willow Park, Tara Hills and Tara Drive. I guess that was enough of a W/T fix for me to get by

Yeah the baby bull is the tri trip sandwich over at the Orlando Cepeda Grill out in centerfield behind the bleachers. My favorite item at the Park. Ah, and I have tickets for next Monday, can't wait.

OK, I admit it…I did take a ride on the big slide in centerfield. Why should kids be the only ones allowed to have fun? Have a good time when you go next week!

I have actually only gone down the slide once and it was extremely foggy that day, so the slide wasn't very slidy.

Tara's Willow Cafe is at:

555 Willow Road

Menlo Park, CA 94025

So you can look it up on Yahoo or MapQuest or wherever.

It's really small, but the food was pretty good.
