I'm not sure anyone has mentioned this, but an article on fan fiction on afterellen had numerous references and links to the Kitten.

http://afterellen.com/Print/2006/1/fanfiction2.html

and
http://afterellen.com/Print/2006/1/fanfiction4.html

This includes a quote from dumbsaint as well

“They are unique in that they are the first longterm, serious, passionately in love lesbian couple that anyone has ever had the opportunity to see on TV. But even still, their desire for one another had to be relegated for two years to metaphor on a show that has only been too happy to push the envelope with showing sexual situations in prime time. And while ME pulled off the metaphors with more grace and creativity than usual, and while I loved the metaphors for the way Aly and Amber played them- they were still metaphors. We still never saw their first kiss. Never knew for sure when they made love for the first time. That's kind of infuriating in comparison to the way developing relationships between straight characters are portrayed. I fell in love with Willow and Tara, and I wanted to figure out for myself how desire worked between them, in a more physical kind of way- because I was denied seeing that on the show.”

hooray for us :)

I noticed the article this morning, but couldn't figure out where to post about it. It seemed to fit in so many places here that I decided to let someone cleverer than me take charge in the end, and so you did, drlloyd!

Rather good article too, and I am very proud to be called a "die-hard Willow/Tara fan".

I found the Judith L. Tabron article very interesting, too. Is that someone from this board? That it was referenced was nice and I totally agree that the lack of attention to Tara's death in any sort of real depth is annoying. It is like Whedon and ME have been able to cast a shadow in everyones' eyes to overlook anything but the artisitic freedom aspect. Which is too bad. I am glad we got some recognition though.

I'm very grateful for this article because I now have a place to direct clueless friends/family when they ask me what my favorite hobby is. I try to explain fan fiction to them and they just don't get it. This sums it up quite nicely with a little history lesson and everything. In my experience, non-fans and illiterate internet folks just don't "get" what fan forums are.

Which Judith L. Tabron article? I think she's the woman who referenced Bob & mine's essays in one.

Ah yes, I thought that might be it. I remember thinking it was dense but flattering. And it's always nice to see someone attempt to further serious discussion of Tara's death and its aftermath on Buffy

Okay I'm clearly blind. I've read the article twice now and cannot find a mention of W/T or the Kitten board in the article.
