I have a feeling that VH1 couldn't get any rights to show BtVS clips. So from a pacing standpoint, the editors probally opted to cut out any mention of the show, rather than try to have Amber explain something in words that could otherwise be told in a few seconds of footage.

Course it would have been nice to have more Amber/BtVS stuff in there, but it was only an hour show...i'm sure they could do a 2 hr. special specifically on the Willow/Tara relationship and there would still be things left out.

Well, I have to say, I really loved the director, Wash Westmorland, he was such a cutie. I felt like you know, TG was saying that we were all these happy, gay, rich, violence-free folks. No bisexuality, very little lesbianism and definitely no transgender representation. That made me sad. I know it was a show about pop culture, but I think it was about a certain sectors of pop culture.



But it was fun trivia! Yeah, I talked a lot about how hip hop is always called homophobic and essentially, black folks are blamed for all of America's homophobia. I mean come on! Look at the guy who's in the White House. And John Ashcroft?? It's not like anyone focuses on country music's homophobia. And I talked a lot about Buffy :). I'm sad that didn't come through.



You mentioned in Totally Gay that you really like the film Bound; what other films/tv shows with lesbian characters do you particularly like (or dislike)?



Ohh, let's see: When Night is Falling, Fire, All Over Me, of course, the best show ever, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What don't I like? Um, a lot of stuff, but I'll just keep it to my favorites.

xita: Yeah, I don't even know who that person is because I've never heard of her. I just posted that excerpt as further evidence that some participants in the programme did mention BtVS but none of those comments actually made it on screen. So presumably the same thing happened to Amber too.

No I see your point. I think they obviously brought in Amber to talk about Buffy but that didnt' make it in for whatever reason, I am guessing lack of time since the focus of the show seemed to be guys anyway.

Sorry to interrupt the serious discussion, but isn't Amber's laugh just sooo enchanting? I just wanna hug her to death!!! Or well, not to death, cuz that'd be a bad thing, but y'all know what I mean right? she really seemed perplexed over the TaTu thing. She's just adorable!

To add my 2 cents::: I think we have an element of jealousy with the not showing of any w/t moments... I don't think he really likes to see "his" actors being successful/admired/respected without his help. I used to worship the guy, but now, he's just kinda pathetic.

I too would have loved to hear what Amber had to say about BtVS, without 's censorship, but there's always another time right?

Hey-ho: GG fashionably late as always. I was eating breakfast, and scanning the DirecTV channels: hmmm, VH1 "Totally Gay." Now I'd seen "Totally Gayer" (narrated by the faboo Lucy Lawless) so I figured, this must Chapter One.

A very pleasant surprise---so Amber's a big QasF fan? Another of those shows I only see once in a free-preview-weekend moon.
