Well the couples poll is no contest. Spuffy's got, like, half of the votes that W/T have. As for the Tara's death poll, I don't understand the 'I'm glad she's dead' attitude! Voting that you hate her is going way out of your way to bash her. That's just cruel. Bastards. : -->>: :mad

Ijust voted in the 'babes' poll, and as of right now Amber is the most attractive Hollywood woman. But we all knew that. Angelina Jolie is 2nd. Aly is 4th.

Willow made a small fist and waved it at her (Tara), and the 2 grinned in that secret knowing way lovers ever did. It amazed him now, looking back upon it, that he had not realized sooner that Willow and Tara were more than merely friends. -Giles, "The Wisdom of War" Willow and Tara's Love

My poll

Postby Sarah Bennett » Tue Jul 30, 2002 8:47 pm

If anyone's interested, I'm running a girl poll on my Perkybitch website. Every week I'll change it and put up five female celebrities, and the two highest scorers go thru to the "next round". The basic idea is it works like a tournament and we eventually have a final vote off between the 5 most popular gals.

Anyway, this week is between Amber, Brooke Langton, Michelle Williams, Connie Nielsen, and Elle MacPherson.

Last week, Aly won her round easily :) (I know a fair few kittens drop by my site already)

And I have made the draw so that the most likely favourites don't go against each other in the first round (a bit like being "seeded" at a tennis tournament).

So anyway, it's just a bit of fun :)

Buffyguide still have a poll about Tara's death on their front page. 24% are either neutral or glad Tara's gone. Go. Vote. Now.

(NB: I think you can only vote once. Which makes it even more important.)

- edit-

Found a new Tara site. They also have a poll about Tara...

- edit again -

Vote.com are running a 'should Buffy be cancelled?' poll. Apparently they will be sending the results to UPN:

SFX Readers Poll 2002

Postby the kat whisperer » Fri Aug 16, 2002 9:56 pm

I just got this today, it's the results of the recent SFX Readers Poll 2002 for Best TV Actress:

1. SMG

2. Claudia Black

3. Charisma Carpenter

4. Aly Hannigan

5. Gillian Anderson

6. Amber Benson

7. Emma Caulfield

8. Michelle Trachtenberg

9. Gigi Edgley

10. Amanda Tapping

I don't recall AB ever being on that list in previous years, so it just shows you how popular the actress has become... then Mutant Enemy tossed her aside. :spin

I know there was a Sexiest Female category as well, but I don't know how AH or AB did in that.

Amber comes in ahead of Emma and Michelle. That's great to see. All these polls, wherever they are, are just continuing proof that the character of Tara is essentially popular with viewers. We've come a long way from the days where she was harangued on The Bronze.

Looked at this in the newsagents' today - here are the results that I can remember:

1) Claudia Black

2) SMG

3) Charisma

4) Aly

8) Amber

10 Emma

Also in the top 10 were Gillian Anderson, Jessica Alba and Jolene Blalock (who came 7th.) I only really took notice of the placings for Amber and Aly, though. Woo-hoo!

I didn't buy the mag as a protest against the fact that they voted Joss Most Godlike Being, so if anyone wants to fill in the gaps, you're more than welcome.

-edit-

The Buffyguide poll on Tara mentioned earlier in this thread has now closed - the results can be found here.

Okay, will do. :) I went out and bought this today, 'cause I was interested in the results. And here they are:

Sexiest Woman

1. Claudia Black

2. Sarah Michelle Gellar

3. Charisma Carpenter

4. Alyson Hannigan

5. Gigi Edgley

6. Jessica Alba

7. Jolene Blalock

8. Amber Benson

9. Gillian Anderson

10. Emma Caulfield

I'm sure Amber has never made this list before (I know Aly definitely has) so more proof of her popularity with the fans. Ahead of Emma too... ;) And Gillian Anderson, who's usually higher up on the list.

And for the sake of completion the other categories in which Buffy was mentioned were:

Best TV Series

-1st place

Best Individual Episode

- 1. Once More, With Feeling

- 2. The Body

- 4. The Gift

Most Improved Show

- 7th place

Best TV Actor

- 1. James Marsters

- 4. Anthony Head

[ Note, no sign of Nicholas Brendon]

Best TV Special FX

- 2nd place

Best Comic

- 3rd place

Best Newcomer

- 2. Michelle Trachtenberg

Funniest Person In SF

- 1. Spike

- 2. Anya

- 3. Xander

- 8. Joss Whedon

And as already mentioned, Most Godlike Being

- 1. Joss Whedon

- 3. James Marsters

- 7. Glory

Finally, Sexiest Man

- 1. James Marsters

- 8. Anthony Head

[ Note, again, no Nicholas Brendon]

That's all folks...

AmiaAnnoying

Postby vix84 » Sun Aug 18, 2002 9:33 am

OK I'm about to collapse, from spending a good proportion of the middle of the night voting 'not' for Amber. She's finally #3, instead of #6. Let's get her to #1 on the least annoying list!

C'mon everyone, either vote 'not' for her, or 'annoying' for Mischa Barton and Krista Allen. Exhausting, but satisfying.

edited to add: And his percentage is still going down, about 10 votes every second or so.... cheater... :happy

Buffy Dialogue Database

Postby the kat whisperer » Sun Aug 18, 2002 12:42 pm

While I was thinking about polls and voting I thought I'd remind folks to keep voting at the Buffy Dialogue Database for your favourite W/T dialogue.

The most popular quote at the moment is still Tara's "Can you just be kissing me now?" with 252 votes. Which, although definitely one of Tara's best lines, means that folks seem to be voting for this one to the exclusion of others.

IMHO, we need to get more Tara and/or Willow quotes on this list. To do this you can:

Go to the Popular list page and add more votes for any of the quotes already listed there. Like Tara's "Rub your tummy?" (one of my personal favs) which is 6th with 37 votes or Willow's "Buffy needs me" (the dialogue surrounding the kiss from The Body) which is 14th with 23 votes. The one that always makes me cry is the exchange at the end of Family, Tara: "Good Birthday" which is 11th with 26 votes.

Or you can go directly to the Willow & Tara arc dialogue page and choose an entirely different one from there, perhaps one that doesn't have so many votes, like Willow's "I'll take care of Tara, even if she never..." or Tara's "Do what makes you happy" for example.

Lastly, you can go to either Willow's or Tara's own character pages to vote for a quote not necessarily related to W/T.

You decide, but remember to keep voting. ;)

edited to agree with Xita. Yep, definitely their loss. :spin

Vote at the Bronze

Postby famer » Mon Aug 26, 2002 8:51 am

This isn't strictly a vote for the girls but thought this thread was the most appropriate. If not, please move at will!

For anyone interested, there's a new poll at the Bronze pub2.ezboard.com/fthebron...1473.topic

"So...only a month away from season premieres. I've been reading all over the net how formerly diehard fans aren't watching one or both shows this season. So...are you going to watch S7/4?"

- Are you kidding? I'm watching both!

- And watch more C/A? no way. Give me B/S and Alias any day!

- B-S7 is S2 redone...no thanks, but A s4 is a winner

- I'll watch them if I have time, but I'm not working my schedule around them again.

- Joss left us for Firefly. Nothing could make me watch these shows again

Everyone but me (88.9%) voted that they'll watch both. If you are interested in taking a meander over there, I note that you can also post your reasons for not watching the show.

And we're getting hammered, though of course they're asking the wrong question....
