Amber at OMWF record release party Sat. Sept. 28

Anything about Willow & Tara, Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson.

yay

Postby Iamyouknowyours » Tue Sep 24, 2002 2:59 am

I will be going, nothing can hold me back. I was going through Amber withdrawl, never a good thing. I'm sort of terrified to meet Joss. I mean I didn't get to at Comic Con, because Amber came first, but to see face to face the man who has brought such hurt upon myself and countless others...

There's a letter that I wrote recently, detailing how hurt I have been by Tara's death. I'm going to give him a copy. I also plan to ask him about the lying, if I don't wimp out. Wish me strength. I have no intentions of attacking or accusing. I just don't understand why. What did he hope to gain by lying to the people who loved and admired him most? I know that no newspaper or magazine will ever have the balls to ask him, so I plan to. Because I think we all need an answer to that question.

Whew, I'm getting all worked up just thinking about it. Let me focus on happy thoughts instead. Mmmm...Amber. It's working. I'm getting that goofy grin on my face that I always get when I think of that talented lady.

So, any plans for a kitten gathering afterwards. Because I always seem to miss them. The drunken fun after comic con, etc. So count me in! Just tell me where and when :)

I have a really bad idea...

Postby BFR from Paris » Tue Sep 24, 2002 6:13 am

A Kitten dresses up as vamp-Willow, walks up to Joss and says :

"You... I don't like you..." before storming off :evil

Just imagining it cracks me up, and it's good to laugh these days, don't you think? ;)

Anyway, have fun at the party while I'm in Marseille for the weekend (ah, the Mediterranean sea... :cool )

Actually, if any kittens are going, I'd like one of them to just very nicely ask him to explain something :

Joss Whedon (E! Online 5/01): "I have no plans to send Tara anywhere. Amber (Benson) and Alyson (Hannigan) have such great chemistry; they're so great together, and they're very romantic together. We have terrible, terrible things to do to them because they're on my show, so needless to say, horrible things will happen--but as a couple, I think they work really well. As for Amber, even if she weren't going out with Willow, I think she's become a big part of the heart of the show."

Tough Question

Postby LostSoul » Tue Sep 24, 2002 1:01 pm

I won't be asking any tough questions. Especially if Amber is sitting right next to Joss because I don't want to embarrass her. They are questions that have all been asked before and have been side stepped a million times.

I will however ask him why Amber's voice is so obscured in the mix of Under Your Spell that is included on the CD. Amber's voice is very obscured by the music during most of the chorus.

Personally, I prefer the version of the song that was used in the episode.

I don't think anybody needs to ask Joss anything. Just do what comes naturally - crowd around Amber and act like Joss doesn't exist. He'll catch on... : -->>:

And if he gets bored, give him something to read. No, nothing serious, FAQ related - don't forget that it's a party.

But how about something funny, like a collection of Firefly reviews?

Gosh that's great that Amber is going to be at this thing! Woo Hoo! :D

It does seem a bit odd though that every time Joss does a public appearance now he seems to bring an "Amber Shield" with him. I wonder what that's about? :hmm

Anyway, I am so happy that Kittens are going to get to see her again! :bounce

Nope, sorry

Postby Iamyouknowyours » Tue Sep 24, 2002 4:02 pm

I'm still gonna ask him. Because it's important to my personal sanity that I do. Because I can forgive the cliches and the death of the only healthy relationship on TV, but the lies? That's personal. And he doesn't seem to get that THAT is what we are upset about. He still thinks the hubub is because "the lesbian fans" think he's homophobic. And I'm sick of him dummying it down to just that.

Although I must say the vamp willow idea is hillarious. Hmmmm.. I was planning on dressing up as Vamp Wilow for HAlloween...

Ooh, justastraightdog, I like how your mind works. Interesting reading material indeed. Perhaps also a copy of the Hollywood Reporter article detailing just how much FF's ratings sucked compared to John Doe...?

Amber @ Tower on Saturday!

Postby CaptMurdock » Tue Sep 24, 2002 10:09 pm

Does anybody know if she's going to be signing autographs? Or how much the CD is? (I'm only buying one if she is signing them -- my bootleg copy is just fine, thank you very much).

At last, something Amber is at that I can make it to! Mrs. CaptMurdock is letting me go, regardless of how tight money is right now. Gotta love her.

Yay!

So, I live in Canada and can't come down to California on Saturday. And my city doesn't have a Virgin Megastore.

But, if any kind kittens plan on attending, I would be eternally grateful if I could finagle a signed CD of my own.

I would, of course, pay for CD, postage et al. I would also kick in a VCD or two or three (!) of Tara episodes -- I've got them all from Hush onwards.

If you're willing, please e-mail me!

Postby LostSoul » Wed Sep 25, 2002 7:51 am

Hey, it sounds like several of you are getting there early on Saturday, and I don't want to be at the very end of the line, so:

What time is everyone planning on getting there?

I'd like to gauge my time and maybe chat with you all a bit :)

Thanks, Annecy. :)

Though, right now I'd suggest t-shirts:

-37%

And maybe a nice word about Karma on the back:

Acts of love attract loving acts, malice attracts malice

And singing radiohead's Karma Police ( "this is what you get, when you mess with us")

But I really don't think that he has the time to show up. Emergency meetings at FOX and UPN will keep him busy...

JaSD,

Man I do like your thinking.

Or maybe the Buffy/Spike Heart shirt with the words "Stand by Your Rapist" on it.

Course there are always the "Got Tara" shirts.

Anyone have any idea about the sales of this CD?

A Plan

Postby Rally » Wed Sep 25, 2002 10:59 am

Ok, I am trying to make arrangements to attend. So my plan is this, Amber asked us to take pictures of her with the Certificate for the Trevor Project. She then gave me instructions on how to deliver them to her. Personally I would much rather deliver them to her in person. Also it would be nice for Joss to get a look at it and hopefully inquire about it, we can then tell Joss about the money raised for the Trevor Project.

So that is my aspiration for the week. Now I just need to decide if I am driving or flying and find out if anyone wants to get together on Sat afterwards. So I can decide if I want to spend Sat night and come back on Sunday.

------------

Well officially, of course, I have to say that I have no idea what you're talking about.

:clap

Rally, I love the plan. *Imagines Joss' facial expression* Wow, photographs of that moment would be priceless! Pride (as he first takes credit for the TP) -> embarassment -> contented smirk (he remembers he is God) -> runs out of building as he notices the messages on the kitten shirts and the evil glints in many an eye.

Between Amber, Joss and the kittens, this will be a very interesting event.
