Question for all the kittens. What was the song that played when she was walking down the aisle?

That's Norah Jones. It doesn't seem to be on the soundtrack to the movie though. Heh, and I can't remember what particular song of hers it was now, sorry.

I liked the movie. It should have had much more Aly though. And it seemed like they just tossed the "plot" in there as an afterthought kind of thing.

Sigh, but Aly man. :heart So freaking gorgeous.

From Dark Horizons:

Quote:
Monday, August 4th 2003

Weekend Box-Office: The third "American Pie" unsurprisingly took the top spot at this weekend's box-office, the teen comedy whilst not hitting the $45M opening of the first sequel, still held strong and looks like it'll end up around the $100 million mark like its two predecessors. The word on "Gigli" was bad early on and despite a massive TV-heavy push, the 'Bennifer' project opened to a dismal 8th ranking and will probably go down as one of, if not the biggest, turkey of the year (gobble gobble).

U.S. Weekend Box-Office Top Ten

(Rank, Title, 3-Day Weekend, Total)

1. American Wedding - $34.3M, $34.3M

2. Spy Kids 3D: Game Over - $20.1M, $69.1M

3. Pirates of the Caribbean - $19.1M, $209.8M

4. Seabiscuit - $17.5M, $49.1M

5. Bad Boys II - $12.7M, $111.3M

6. Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life - $11.3M, $42.6M

7. Finding Nemo - $3.8M, $320.0M

8. Gigli - $3.8M, $3.8M

9. The League of Extra... - $3.1M, $58.8M

10. Terminator 3 - $2.9M, $142.8M

I just returned from watching "American Wedding" myself and if anyone thought that Mary Richards could turn the world on with her smile, they've never seen our fair Alyson.

Every scene that Alyson is in, she is incandescent and could power the national energy grid with her radiance.

She is elegant, stunning, graceful, warm, and volcanically sexy.

The film starts off with a trademark "American Pie" sex gag, involving Michelle under the table and that lucky bastard Jim, and then surprised me by the final scene being a very sweet and romantic closer.

Jim and Michelle take the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, with Alyson just looking gorgeous in her strapless wedding gown showing off her bare skin and those adorable freckles as the acoustic guitar intro to Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic" is heard.

Then we get the endearing exchange between them of how a perv and a nympho turned into the most adorable couple and we leave them to dance the night away and wish them well.

Good on Alyson for another splendid comic turn and for just being her.:flower :love :bigkiss

Thanks for the review taralicious. :) I can't wait to see this for myself. In the meantime there are a ton of interviews and appearances to keep me occupied, heh. It's amazing how much coverage this movie is getting, and especially Aly. It really is a series of silly movies, but it gets some serious attention, which I am very happy about. This certainly is the summer for silly but highly fun movies with wonderful leading ladies. I prefer that over miserable and depressing movies any day, we have the news for that.

Glad to oblige with the review, DrG.

Alyson is clearly having a blast doing the film and enjoying her central role in working with the rest of the male cast.

The scene she has with Eugene Levy is hysterical.

Clearly the Hollywood hair/makeup effect only serves to enhance and magnify her natural beauty and carnivourous sexual presence.

My eyes didn't leave her and followed her around in every moment she was onscreen.

I bow down to the wondrously captivating screen presence that is Alyson Hannigan:bow

Runs into the room and slips on someone's drool, sliding and crashing into the wall

Um... oops! Shakes head

Just got back from the movie. Alyson was yummy, gorgeous, and sexy as usual. Hee... she's such a vixen!:drool

I actually thought this one was the best of the two prior. There was just something about this one that I liked. From the scene with the dogs and Stifler, which made me :rofl ... to the gay bar... to Stifler eating the dog shit... to the female cop/stripper, :thud ... it rocked!

I'll agree with whoever said it could have had more Alyson, but it was still good. This will be a DVD to add to my collection!

Hee... I still say that Alyson saying the word, "horney," is sexy as hell! :thud

I have to agree Jennpurr, i actually liked this 3rd one better than the first two...maybe it's the way they incorporated the jokes with the plotline (not that it had the BIGGEST plotline but still lol). Most comedies just put in the jokes anyway they like..but this one was kinda different.

and alyson was just gorgeous! and o so tiny...

I saw this movie yesterday and laughed through a lot of it. Of course my favorite moment was getting to see Aly dance. The bar scene NOT the end which was so not Aly in the overhead shots. You have to love the way she dances :)

I thought they made Stiffler extra obnoxious at the beginning but the 'chocolate truffle' incidence was hysterical...not sure I will eat chocolate again for a while though.

I still prefered the second movie (Aly's break up with Jim was priceless), American Wedding was great though and Aly as always looked gorgeous.

So, the day started and I knew my name and had my pants on. So far, so good. Yay.

I went and saw this again yesterday and I really noticed something this time around. I saw it the first time, but didn't really pay that much attention.

When Michelle is talking to Jim's dad about her vows: when his dad first walks in and Michelle has this panicked look on her face, it reminded me of Willow from, "Nightmares," when she's all dressed up as the Opera singer. Anyone else notice that. Her facial expressions and obviously the hair... I just thought it was cool.

Alyson is so... I don't know that right word. I just love how, whether it's an interview she's doing or just through a picture, how you can almost always see Willow! :heart She's sooo cute.

I wonder if she realizes that about herself? :love

She really is a wonderful woman, it took her like half a second in those high heels to dash over to the fans. No hesitation whatsoever, and at the end of this all too brief clip you can hear her say "ok, gotta go" and then she signs a few more autographs. Bless her. :heart

I just read an article about unrated DVD's and they were discussing the "American Pie" series as being the groundbreaking franchise in shooting far racier material than they could ever hope to release in theaters.

This brought them to reveal that the producers of "American Wedding" are preparing an unrated version of the film for DVD release around Christmas time.

Maybe if we're all good little kittens and keep hold of our mittens or what have you, the camera will have gone under the table with Michelle and we'll get to see her techniques, without using her napkin.

Maybe Michelle gets her kit off as well in that scene with her sister Cadence.

I dream of naked Alyson flesh and those adorable freckles:heart :wink :pray

Anyone who happens to be in the area of the Deauville Film Festival in France: American Wedding is going to appear there.

Relevant phrase from this story:

Hollywood movies that will have their French or European premieres at Deauville include Universal's "American Wedding," directed by Jesse Dylan and starring Alyson Hannigan and Jason Biggs, with both lead actors due in town[...]

willowlove: Thanks for the info. The festival takes place between Sept. 5-14 but I was unable to find the actual date of the American Wedding premiere (not even on the official festival website).

Edited to add: interview with Aly and Jason Biggs at Empire Online (click on the link to see a video clip of the interview):

Quote:
HERE COMES THE BRIDE

AMERICAN PIE 3 INTERVIEWS

ALYSON HANNIGAN & JASON BIGGS

The happy couple in this nuptial-themed instalment, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Biggs seem as inseparable offscreen as on. But, while their screen time is spent gazing longingly into each other's eyes, back in the real world the (quite possibly mad) pair take distinct pleasure from hurling endless streams of amicable abuse at each other. Empire Online sat back and tried not to feel too left out.

How far do you feel Michelle and Jim have come since the first film?

Alyson: They've come a long, long way.

Jason: They've come a long way baby. Like Fat Boy Slim.

Alyson: From a one night stand to an… aisle.

Jason: They've come a long way. Jim's trying to grow up and leave those embarrassing situations behind him and try not to get into any more.

Alyson: Of course that does not work.

Jason: It doesn't happen, there are bumps in the road while trying to give Michelle the wedding of her dreams. But hey, the fact that he's trying and is aware of his foibles is evidence of maturation right there.

Alyson: I like 'foible'.

Jason: Foible's a good word. Granted it's not the Queen's English but… [to Alyson] Hey, don't make any Queen jokes. She made a Queen joke…

Alyson: No! He made a Queen Mum joke.

Jason: You made a Queen Mum joke before.

Alyson: No, he did and he didn't realise that she was no longer with us. And he was threatening her ass.

Her arse in particular?

Alyson: Yeah, he was like [adopts British accent] 'The Queen Mum better watch her arse!'

Jason: I did not use an accent! I did not use an accent and… I did not say that.

Alyson: Who are you gonna believe?

Jason: Yeah, who are you gonna believe? Don't answer that.

Alyson, you must be used to this from working on Buffy, but do you both find it particularly enjoyable to come back to an established cast where there's something of a family feel?

Alyson: It's very nice, except for working with Jason Biggs. But everybody else is just so lovely, they really are.

Jason: Alyson Hannigan is the rudest, and I'm tired of working with her.

Alyson: He's been saying this for years.

Jason: And I keep coming back, you know why? Because I am determined to get into her pants. I haven't yet but it's going to happen.

Alyson: Never going to happen.

Jason: It's gotta happen, three movies together? You know what? I think she's waiting to get married and…

Alyson: You'd better stop right there. I don't even want to hear this…

Jason: And it's gonna be like…

Alyson: No. No.

Jason: Affairs are sexy.

Alyson: No. You can't even go there, it's not funny, it's just… no.

You're getting married yourself in a couple of months aren't you?

Alyson: Yes, I am. And that's why I won't let him talk about it.

So was this film a kind of dry run for your big day?

Alyson: Yeah, very dry!

Jason: That's not a joke at me.

Alyson: Yeah, it is. Figure it out.

Jason: Oh.

Clearly you're both adept at making other people laugh but what kind of things do you find funny?

Alyson: I love people that are just… Eugene [Levy], that's what I look for. He's just the epitome of funny for me. I don't particularly like the kind of humour that we've been showing you today, which is make the other person look bad to be funny. I don't like that but Jason brings that out in me. I think that's too easy.

Jason: I actually think it's the most difficult and I think people need to be self-deprecating. I think self-deprecation is…

Alyson: But that's not self-deprectaion. You're not talking about yourself, you're talking about me.

Jason: I'm giving you the ability to talk about me and that in and of itself… my poking and prodding at you to get you to poke and prod at me is…

Alyson: That's not self-deprecation…

Jason: It is in a sense. The fact that I am actually soliciting to get made fun of. It's almost like I'm making fun of myself via you. [laughs]

Alyson: So is that self-deprecating whore?

Jason: Whore?

Alyson: Maybe, 'cause you're whoring yourself out…

Jason: Exactly.

Alyson: Anyway, that's not the kind of humour I like.

Is it just me, but it read to me like she really was a bit annoyed with Jason Biggs near the end. Of course these are just words on paper and tone of voice or facial expression can add a whole other meaning to things. Anyway, if Aly were to end up doing stand up comedy at least we would not have to be worried about sitting up front in the audience wearing that ugly shirt. ;)

DrG: I think Aly and Jason were just joking around. But, if you want, you can click on the Empire Online link in my previous post and view a video clip of the interview and judge for yourself.

I don't know if any other UK Kittens saw the T4 interview with Aly and Jason on Channel 4 last week? It was recorded in L.A. just before the world premiere of American Wedding (here is as much of it as I can remember):

Quote:
Anthony Crank: Alyson, what should I do to try and get your attention in the media line at the premiere?

Aly: Well, I love blueberry muffins.

A.C.: No! I heard it was custard tarts that you love.

Aly: No, blueberry muffins.

A.C.: Not custard tarts then? (handing her a yellow box containing a large custard tart)

Aly: Ooh, Mark and Spencer, I love their custard tarts!

(Jason snatches the box out of her hand and Aly immediately grabs it back from him)

Aly: (glaring at Jason) Don't! He brought that all the way from England for me.

Cut to Anthony holding a microphone standing in the media line at the premiere. He interviews the rest of the American Wedding cast. Then he says "Here comes my friend Alyson Hannigan." Aly walks right past him and all the other interviewers, smiling and waving, but without stopping to talk to any of them. (Thanks to xita and DrG I knew the reason behind that - she'd spent too long signing autographs for fans and was running late).

At the end of the show, Anthony is sitting with his two colleagues (Vernon and June) discussing the highlights of their respective assignments that day. Anthony said that his highlight was meeting Alyson Hannigan and June said "Yes, we like her."

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to tape it as I hadn't realised that Aly was scheduled to be on the show.
