I noticed an old couple in a couple of panels, they point towards them and whisper. I wonder if they are homophobes :lol or if they have something to do with what is going on in the forest.

Oh Xita I too noticed that old couple pointing at Willow, Tara, and Dawn, and thought they must be "homophobes" :lol ! I wonder if we will see them again the next part, and maybe the girls can confront them, or maybe the couple gets their comeuppance by meeting Jack in the forest?

If anyone out there is having trouble finding this new comic, I can recommend Thing From Another World, an online resource. I get all my BUFFY stuff there. The prices are reasonable, even the shipping and the service is good. Excellent selection, too. It was the only place I could find the Pop-up people. Both my sets have Tara. S4/S5 Tara, but Tara.

SisterDebMac: I agree great selection. but that is where I preordered, and I've yet to get my copy. :( So I'm not one of their satisfied customers at the moment. :(

TrueXena, I know the feeling. I also order from tfaw and I haven't gotten my copy, either. I posted back that i got an email from them stating a comic was on it's way, turned out to be BtVS #47 (and it was kinda lame, imo). I checked my account and the shipping status was noted for week of 7/30/2002...:eek damn them, damn them all!!blah...

The BBC have some info on the comic here. 'Wilderness' will also apparently be released in book form with 'Wannablessedbe.'

Ah yes, I am com-plete.

Got this today. Love the innuendo. Much love to be had for Amber, writing this. And we know Chris Golden is a huge W/T shipper. Heh. Love him.

Got my copies today and had fun reading them. Chris really loves Willow and Tara and so does Amber of course. I was disappointed at the lack of smoochies but have high hopes for the second part :)

Honestly, I think the lack of smoochies isn't really an issue, considering that the allusion to them is just so delicious.

And thanks for that link to the review; I liked this bit especially:

Yeh thats interesing, just willing to let the characters tell the story not imposing the story or herself on the characters. She could teach some people a lesson....

You know there's a close up of a hand hold that makes it look like Tara basically has talons for nails.

From the review:

Quote:
Despite not being photographically accurate, the artwork captures

the essence of the characters. Willow and Tara hold hands as they

should and keep close. The solely artistic best scene occurs toward

the finale where Tara seeks comfort in Willow's arms. The sense of

contentment radiates from the panel.

Oh I so agree, I love just staring at that panel, it just gets it right.

Although on second (and third+) reading I found I liked the art less and less, I do have to agree that the panel with Willow comforting Tara is very well done. And Dawn does seem to be the best drawn of all of them. The story is so good though, that it easily makes up for the visuals.

Just nabbed it on the way home.

My favourite line - DAWN: Try "Expelliarmus". That always works.

A friend mentioned that he saw this and thought of me, but thought I wouldn't be interested. Then he remembered that Amber had written it. Unfortuneately he only remembered after he'd gone back home.

So, guess what I'll be getting on my birthday?

Oh heh heh, then that must have been a line written by Amber, seeing as she is a Harry Potter fan herself.

I just received my copy today. * I did a happy dance*. I love the story, but I like Terry Moore's depiction of the characters better.

Also, that was a terrifying cliffhanger! GreenJack is OOGLY!

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

Willow: Hi, um Tara. I was wondering maybe you want to go out some time for coffee? food? Kisses and gay love?

Hm, funny, for me it was the other way round. I first was a bit disappointed by the way they were draw but already during the second read it started to grow on me.

Anyway, I love the story. The beginning conveyed a really comfy family trip feeling and then the it became Lord of the Rings. Very well done. I just missed a kiss - well, maybe next issue (which won't come out until September - argh!).

An amusing bit of foreshadowing--

On the second page, in the panel just underneath Dawn's "LOOK!", the seal in the picture has a terribly sad expression on its face. A little later, Dawn remarks about how sad everyone and everything in the town looks (because of the curse):) :) .

Anyone need the comic?

Postby Kieli » Tue Jul 16, 2002 2:11 pm

I got my pre-order AND an order from Amazon when it looked like the idiots at TFAW weren't going to send mine. Anyone want to buy my extra for cheap? I bought both the photo and the cover art versions.

Another part I loved was when Willow said "Never let it be said that I let a Tara craving go unsatisfied."

Cuz, sure, Tara's talking about food, but we all know what Willow's talking about. Heh. Gotta love that Amber. Bad girl.

I have what may be bad news. I emailed Christopher Golden, and told him how much I love Wilderness Part 1 and Wisdom of War. I asked him if there would be more W/T comics in the future, and he emailed back and said Wilderness may be his last Buffy comic, but he did not say why. I kid you not. Chris is very approachable, and he responded to me when I complemented him and Amber on "WannaBlessedBe."

Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.

Tara: Willow, I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you.

FINALLY!

Postby TrueXena » Thu Jul 25, 2002 3:23 pm

Geesh I thought I was gonna die from the freakin' wait! But alas TFAW finally shipped me the Photo Cover, and I went to my local Comic shop to get the Art Cover.

I'll know better next time, thats for sure.

I like the story, I sorta like the artwork, but I think it will have to grow on me some more to REALLY like it. I noticed Tara has a "sour" look on her face alot in this one, and Willow has 'season 4' hairdo. ;)

Anyhoo I've finally got my copies and now I'm much with the happiness. ;)

Well, knowing how much of a W/T fan he is, he may have very good reason for no longer doing Buffy.

I don't think anyone here can blame him, either. I wish him luck in whatever his future brings.
