Mark Watches BtVS - anybody following?

Mark is a twenty something year old gay male who is watching Buffy for the first time. The only spoilers he knew about the show before starting the series is that Sarah Michelle Gellar is Buffy, David Boreanaz is Angel, Joss Whedon wrote it and there’s someone named Spike. Also, there are vampires. And Mark assumes, Buffy slays them.

Mark has a very strict no spoilers policy as he wants to complete the series without them. He's in the middle of Season Four now, and has hopelessly fallen for Willow and Tara... having not even seen New Moon Rising, and having no idea what's to come.

Reading his recaps make me feel such a strange mix of emotions. Joy, at the wonder of a new ship to follow, the flailing excitement that the pairing is Willow/Tara, and the horror that he has no idea what's going to happen next. All the ups, all the downs. I want to tell him everything and nothing, all at once! He notices all the little W/T moments and clearly is a Kitten at heart, although he doesn't know it yet.


So, anyone else following Mark?

Oh yes! I can't even begin to describe the emotions I went through, thinking, "Oh god, if he hates Tara, I don't know what I'll dooo!" But hooray hooray!

Part of me wishes I had first watched BtVS now, instead of as a kid, if only to go through that level of excitement along with him.

Do either of you (or anyone else) listen to Potential Cast? It's available on iTunes and it's pretty funny. There are 3 people who are watching Buffy for the first time and one who has seen it all (she's kind of a moderator). They also have a strict no spoiler policy and are currently on S4, the last podcast was for 'Doomed'. They have a fb group page for the show and there is also a fb group page called 'Potential Spoilers,' where you can discuss anything. At first I didn't like the podcast, but they've improved and it's definitely grown on me. There's a lot of crazy predictions and wild speculation. So, it's a lot of fun.

The podcast is every two weeks with an Angel cast in-between called, 'Redemption Cast.' I don't listen to that one....I'm just not a big Angel fan.

Yes, I've been reading along, and recently started posting replies there, too, using my Twitter & BTVS Writers' Guild alias katiesdaddykat. Veterna viewers enjoy tleling him how he's not prepared, which is one of his own favorite expressions. He has just done "Primeval" as of yestrday. And I've already mentioned I'm no longe r a Whedon fan (and will tell him why once the process starts,) and plugged this place a couple times, and since i'm a loyal egomaniac, referenced my own fics. There's several other people there who are new viewers, also; that's fun to watch.
