Was what they said about Tara supposed to be a woodland sprite literal, or just another way of saying elfin? Nice to imagine what direction the series could've gone if she was. Jokes of her spending time in trees would abound, willows in particular.
"If I can't be a good example, might as well be a horrible warning."

"Friendship is obviously magic. Love is a sorta super strong friendship. We gay people love so hard we broke 'Social Norm'. Ergo, we gay people are ultra-strong wizards."

Joss Whedon later said he had intended her to be supernatural but in writing for the episode her said it not feel right. IMHO the backstory in Family os 1000x better that any kind of magic one.
Also, it was a surprise.

Anyone on the look-out for Amber's book tour, she mentions being in New York on March 2nd, Houston March 3rd, San Diego March 10th and in LA around the end of Feb!

Laragh.
Thanks for the link to this interview with Amber as she and I have the same views about writing as an art and a craft.
Having my first novel published, it has illuminated why I was always driven to read so much from a very early age because I knew that I wanted to tell stories of my own someday.
Amber has been my inspiration in that she gave me the same advice the second time I met her as she gives in the interview; write everyday which is what I did for the five years my novel went from ideas in my head to written out longhand for the rough draft to editing it into it's finished form on my laptop.
Every interview I hear with her she rises in my estimation as being a straight-shooter.
