Here are the details.

The Seven Whistlers
By Amber Benson and Christopher Golden
Status: Forthcoming (December 2006)
ISBN 1-59606-068-9

Limited: $40
Lettered: $150

Legends say that on stormy nights, or on sunsets, there sometimes comes a strange whistling noise in the sky, followed by sightings of enormous black dogs. But these are no ordinary dogs. They are demonic things, hounds loose from the Wild Hunt, and they are searching for lost souls. Ill fortune will befall any who encounter them, one by one. They are rarely sighted more than one at a time, and if all seven should come together, it will mean the end of the world.
In the picturesque New England town of Kingsbury, Vermont, a young woman named Rose Kerrigan mourns the death of her grandfather, the sweet but strange old man who raised her. She's never been able to get along with her cold, distant grandmother.
In the wake of Walter Kerrigan's death, the town is beset with strange occurrences, stormy weather, and eerie whistling in the night skies. Sightings of a huge, black hound are reported, followed by incidents of terribly bad luck, accidents, and unpleasant coincidences. Perhaps this is why Rose's grandmother has been acting so strange -- in addition to her grief, she's deeply unsettled by the goings-on in Kingsbury. At least, this is what Rose and her tight-knit group of friends believe, when they discuss such things at the coffee house where they hang out together. Some of these friends -- people Rose has known her whole life -- have experienced some of the unpleasant, and yet also wonderfully strange, events happening in town. Weird, magical stuff.
Soon, Rose will learn the legend of the Seven Whistlers. They've come to Kingsbury, Vermont, in search of a soul that has been hidden from them, and they will not leave without it. First there was one, then two...but now, as Rose becomes more and more anxious, people see three of them together, and then four. If they don't find what they're looking for soon, perhaps all seven will gather in Kingsbury.
And if all seven should come together....

Limited: 1000 signed hardcover copies
Lettered: 52 signed copies housed in a custom traycase

I have the SP "Ghosts of Albion" books and they are very, very nice.
This should be fun.

The question I have is when in the hell did they find time to do this??? ;)

This sounds interesting. Much more to my liking than Ghosts of Albion, which I never really could get into, no slight on either of them, it just was not my thing. I hope this will do well.

It was suggested on another board that perhaps they just didn't sleep for a while...
The dEvil's Dandy Dogs, the Gabriel Ratchets - very good story material in the right hands.

Not an espoecially big fan of Chris's but he's good;he asaid if he ahd the time he would have loved to write a W&T centered novel but the trhill has gone out of that idea.
Other than some of the comics I'm not familiar with AMber's style but this sounds promising.

I have read Chris' works, Chris with Tom Sniegoski and Chris with Amber.

Chris and Amber has a very different dynamic to it, it's very obvious that this no normal "celeberty" writing endevour (looking at you Bill Shatner).

I am really looking forward to this one.

So I'm wondering if this is the next installment of "Ghosts of Albion," or if it's a new storyline. I know they were contracted to come out with the next Albion in December, which is the right time.

Seven Whistlers

Postby I'll_Always_Find_You » Fri Jan 12, 2007 8:03 pm

Just wondering if anyone else pre-ordered Seven Whistlers from Amazon.com? I did and I am so upset because they aren't gonna send it out till Jan of 2008 :impatient What is that about? It got released in December of this year. When I wrote them about it all they said was some crap about that release date being the most current one they have on file. Any suggestions? Thanks

There is a thread on Essence of Amber forum from Christopher Golden that says it is being shipped from Subterranean now (at full price).

I got my copy yesterday. I had totally forgotten about it as I paid for it sometime last year, in March or April, I think.
It's a signed by both AB and CG, number 25, to go with similar copies of Astray and Initiation.
Those are presents to myself I reallyI like.I prepay and forget about, until I receive them much, much later. Tee hee.

*throws a turkey at amazon* screw that. *orders frm subterranian*

*edit*
Or not. I went to amazon to cancel the order so I could order it elsewhere and apparently it's shipping soon and won't let me cancel it. Which gives hope. Granted not alot of hope, thanks to amazon's unreliability. But still, hope is hope and what is hell but the absense of hope?

I got mine like 2 or even 3 weeks ago...but since it was in my office and I was too busy to open my office mail....I didn't know that I had that book for about a week before opening it.....oh well....

I'm done reading it....and well...to be honest with you. I'm not too thrilled about it....after I was done reading the only question I had was "and the purpose of this book was?....' and I couldn't find a good answer.... yeah sure there were a few (very few, maybe 2 words) that made you go 'wow, that's an interesting thing', but other than that, I'm actually disappointed. I LOVED 'Accursed' and was telling to everyone in my office to get one. I was somewhat disappointed in Witchery, and I'm even more disappointed in Seven Whistlers. I liked the preview they had on website, that's why I bought...and it was before I read 'Witchery".... and that's my two cents.
