Deja vu

Postby lustandrhymeremover » Wed Aug 14, 2002 9:42 am

Flipping through old eps earlier, one scene during Primeval really stuck out to me. When the gang is being held by the Initiative and Col. Macho (so I forgot his name...) is digging through their stuff. Alyson's reaction when he pulls out the gourd was great. The way she says "It's a gourd" like its total 'duh' thing. Then that little nod when he looks at her kind of says, 'Really, it is,' Of course the whole thing was wonderfully accented by the little glare Giles gives her.

And did anyone else notice during OAFA at the very beginning when Xander is talking about inviting Tara... There's this moment where she gets this look and her voice goes up.. I swear - it was a total Michelle (American Pie) moment.

"Pronouns make it hard to keep our sexual orientation a secret when our co-workers ask us about our weekend. 'I had a great time with...THEM.' Great! Now they don't think you're queer, just a big slut!"-Judy Carter

:lol

Autumn, so true so true. Watching this ep last night, I couldn't decide what was more annoying to me, Dawn's constant complaining and (ugh, need I say it) GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT Oscar clip, or herperfectly coifed sheen of hair, all the way down to the little curls she put in at the bottom. :puke

And she wonders why no one wants to hang out with her :spin

GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!

I'd rather hear Dawn scream Get Out ten times over than have to listen to Buffy preach to Willow or hear Xander complain. Dawn is the only character who ever seemed to actually care about WT. I don't care if she looks like a walking shampoo commercial or has a voice that could cut a diamond, it suits her and I like her, always have always will. And to not get this thread off topic further, I loved it when all 3 of them were in the corridor and Tara is standing there in naught but a sheet with a facial expression that conveys very nicely she got lucky, many, many times and the smirk Willow had on her face that says "I did that". Bless em all.

Tara: "uh Willow?"

Willow: "No dancing naked, huh?...It just won't be the same."

Tara: "That's all right, we can save it for later"

Personally, I just like it when Tara is standing there in naught but a sheet :lol ;)

Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself...

Subtle things....

Ok, someone on a different thread was talking about Tabula Rasa. The thing that breaks me up about this is just after the 'almost kiss' (don't even get me started by the way... yum) when it's all been found out about the crystal and the spell yada yada yada.. Anyway when Willow stands up and Tara looks 30 different shades of broken hearted and can't meet her eyes and just does a big ol' swallow followed by a little cry... it's a very sad moment, but the actresses just sell it to me completely and I'm a dribbling mess on the floor...

Willow in Doppelgangland

Postby Triscuit7 » Fri Aug 16, 2002 8:04 pm

This episode has been a lot on my mind lately, partly because I've just written it into my fic, partly because it aired on FX recently, and partly because it's probably my favorite non-Tara episode. Add in that I'm now addicted to Rally's videos, esp. Virgin State of Mind.

Without that addiction I wouldn't have seen a very brief subtle moment from "D" that Rally uses in the video "Virgin".

Willow has come into the library, seen G,X,& B on the stairs and has asked "who died" for the second time. X does the thingy with the cross, Willow denies dead. Buffy launches herself at her, capturing her in an intense hug. Then its really quick, but Aly/Willow gives this absolutely ecstatic smile, then X is hugging her too and she finishes the hug with a disturbed/uncomfortable expression. If there is anything to be said for Willow having "more than good friends" feeling for Buffy that little smile has to be it.

Ciao, Melissa

s5 moments

Postby with catlike tread » Fri Aug 16, 2002 8:28 pm

I have been re-watching s5 and noticed 2 moments.

In I Was Made To Love You, Spike charges into the Magic Box. No one wants him there and Spike says something like ‘but the little bit [Dawn] is glad to see me’. Dawn is uncomfortable. Tara does her ‘you should leave’ and Giles does his Ripper thing. After this Spike is glaring at the SGs who are glaring back as Spike walks out. Except Tara who is not looking at Spike, but is looking at Dawn to see if she is OK.

Then in The Body everyone is at the morgue and the doctor comes out (presumably after examining Joyce’s body). Everyone stands up and looks at the doctor. Except Tara, who isn’t looking at the doctor but is looking at Dawn, again to see how she is doing.

In "Wrecked," when Tara's in the kitchen cooking pancakes for Dawnie and Willow and Tara have just walked in from their "all nighter," right before Willow introduces Amy, Tara glances at Willow and Amy and has the most devastated look on her face. It is only an instant, but speaks volumes. In less than a second Tara reveals just how "wrecked" she is over her and Willow's breakup and how much she still loves her. I cannot remember the last time I saw someone express such saddness on screen. It blows me away every time I watch it.

I'd say my fave subtle moment has to be in Seeing Red when Willow is talking to Dawn in the hallway and Dawn tell's Willow it is ten o'clock...and Willow glances into the bedroom where Tara is with this quick little smile that might as well have been her puffing up her chest and buffing her fingernails on it...you just know she is thinking "I am such a stud" Too cute.

Also a much sadder moment...but in New Moon Rising...when Tara tells Willow to do what ever makes her h-happy and they embrace...the look on Amber's face...without any overt display...not even really a tear...you can just tell that at the prospect of losing Willow to Oz, after finally finding her, her whole world is just caving in. Breaks my heart every time I see it...but then there is the look right before she blows out the extra-flmaey candle...ah, redemption. And in the same ep...the little smile Willow gives Tara when she says "I am" It is so much more than just your garden variety I love you...you just know it is for always:)
