If you're feeling paranoid about losing your favorite site, there are a plethora of web mirroring tools out there, which would allow you to make a local copy of the parts of the site in which you're interested. Check the Google mirroring directory.

Mirroring is great if you need to access stuff offline or if you want to reformat data (don't you hate those stories with 50 tiny little chapters?), but please be considerate and intelligent when you use such tools. Web sites often have limited bandwidth, which means you can prevent others from accessing the site if you grab too many files at once, and they often have more data than you'd expect.
