it was mtv. it's expected of them (mtv and those publicizing on mtv) to do something stupid like that. i thought it was funny though considering what american pie is about.

Aly was very cute on the show. They had one brief clip of her doing her little dance during the pre-show, then during the presentation she was definitely the one of the four in charge what with reading the winner and guiding the winner in the right direction after the speech, which was very cool. The other Am. Pie presenters kind of stood around giggling while Aly had it under control! She's the boss.

The best was during the credits when they were showing funny backstage clips and they had one of Aly getting out of her limo and saying "can you see my underwear" and when the camera pointed down to her skirt "NO - you're not SUPPOSED to see it!" Very cute.

I'm going to be watching it Saturday night Darin. How far into the show is the award that Aly presents and at what point is the limo clip. I want to make sure I don't miss it.

Aly's presentation comes exactly 10 minutes into the main show, and the limo thing is during the credits at the end of the 2 hour & 10 minute show. Enjoy!

There was also a longish reaction shot of both Aly and Alexis--who looks soooooo different without glasses--during one of the presentations. I can't remember just which one (goes to show you how memorable these awards are), but I did note that it was about an hour and 35 minutes into the broadcast.

Aly looked scrumptious, and yeah, she was all kinds of in charge. Hee hee.

I know a lot of people were getting upset about the MEAT thing and how some people were barely dressed. But aren't these things part of what makes the MTV awards fun to watch? If they didn't do some daring things, it would be just like every other boring award show. Plus, I'm sure most of it is all out of fun, not ment to offend anybody. I mean, they got Pink on there saying her dogs name was F**ker and Samuel Jackson saying obscene words right on stage too.

I was just glad Aly was there to keep us all happy. And whoa! Those were some heels!

Like that wouldn't take up, um, every second of ever. I went ahead and commented on that pic since noone else had said anything yet.

As far as those girls go, they can dress/act/whatever however they want, and go them as far as I'm concerned. I just don't find any of them too interesting since none of them can sing, dance, rap, or write music very well in my opinion.

I'm not saying that it was you--there just the general sentiment on the board that kind of bothered me. Like,that if Aly shows up looking one way that we can oogle and drool--but, if lil'kim looks one way, then she's a whore.
And, actually, I found it hilarious how lil'kim's Moulin Rouge outfit(which was suppose to depict her as a prostitute) was MORE conservative than the outfit she showed up in.
Personally, ya'll, I'm not in the mood to get into some feminist pissing contest. I give props to those four women--Pink has endless talent and, in mho, was the most talented of the four(and my friend actually calls her cat satans bastard--so, 'fucker' didn't shock me nor make me think she was an idiot). Lil' kim gets MAJOR respect from me for being one of the few high profile playa' female rappers-with NO APOLOGIES. Mya and Christina, personally, I don't have too much of an opinion of.
So, let's recap-
-Kabuki, don't take it personally.
-What a woman wears shouldn't make her a 'whore'
-Aly is delicious and Amber should have been there.. But, alas, if she had Ruthie may not have met her and another buttshot trophy would not have been captured.

When I saw the cap with the MEAT sign, it didn't really bug me...but when I saw the actual show, it did. Reason being, they basically made the girls out to be idiots--they're supposed to be spelling out TEAM but oops! They get all confused and accidentally spell MEAT! Isn't that just the kind of endearingly stupid mistake women are always making? Well, that's OK, because men have got the brains and the meat. (BTW that was my sarcastic voice.)

I'm not about to diss Aly for her choices, and, given what I know about her, I'm sure this was her choice. But I wouldn't have done it.

Aly is a grown woman and I am not going to question her choices. I like looking at her and I don't think she minds. The thing didn't offend me, it was the typical American Pie humor. If you objected to that then you probably object to her being in that movie. I myself haven't seen it, cause I don't like that kind of humor but you know more power to Aly.

As far as Cristina, Pink, etc. It's a joke for me. I mentioned it, but that song is about prostitutes. So, I didn't think it innappropriate to use that in the context of them singing that song. I think Pink is hot and she did a great job last night but I have seen her live in other shows and she could not sing one note. I still like her. Cristina can sing as long as she doesn't decide to scream in histerics.

I saw American Pie, pretty much exclusively for Aly. Never be one of my favorites, but I can see why she did it, and the bit at the awards, and the FHM spread. (was it FHM or Maxim? Anyway...) I mean, lets face it, Willow's basically "the good girl" (She's very seldom naughty, y'know ) I think the majority of Aly's fans have come to know her through Buffy. It's a way to tweak her image, show she can do more than Willow. And guess what? It got us, and a whole lot of other people, talkin'. More power to her.

So, to clear things up for me ('cause I'm a bit thick today ): Was the MEAT thing a joke or did it really go wrong ?

And I agree with Xita: Aly is a grown woman (and what a woman she is ) and she must know what's right or wrong for her .... I'm very sure she wouldn't do anything against her will ..... the FHM thing was to broaden her image a bit ( to let people see that there is more to Alyson Hannigan than playing shy, wallflowery Willow - although the show kinda did that with the Willow/Tara and "Willow growing more confident" storylines already .....she has to think about the time after BTVS, after all .... and I don't think she minds a little "on te nose" humor .... at least judging from her own admission that she has a "raunchy sense of humor" .....

Perhaps it's some odd differences in humour. Anyway...
