Well, I was just wondering...I know I have my own story I am working on, but of course am constantly trying to keep up with everyone else's work...

So here's my thought...could we possibly have a thread where the writer just pops in a quick post saying Part XXX or Chapter X now posted in Story XXX

I know this would make my world a happy place, but I was wondering if everyone else would be interested?

If so, I would be happy to go thru all the threads and get the current chapters/parts all the stories were on...

Here's to hoping someone likes the idea...

This is a great idea, but it can get confusing too. Maybe have one post that handles all the updates. Just use the edit option to put in new updates and maybe put the date it was added to the post and keep new additions on the top so it makes it easier to locate them instead of having to go through multiple pages of posts?

I like this idea a lot. Perhaps we can kick around ideas on implementation here for a while, then start a new thread for this purpose, with the requests that posts be restricted to the authors only. That way extraneous material will be weeded out, and because they can edit their entries they'll only need one post each. It will also encourage authors to register.

Suggested format:
Title:
Rating:
Length: (short-short, short story, novella, novel, eternal?)
First Posted: {date}
Status (Complete, Abandoned, Updated {date})

Length is subject to interpretation, of course, but sometimes I need a fix but don't have time to get sucked into something long. I've stayed up way to late more than once because I couldn't walk away in the middle!
