Unfortunately, no. The image can be made into a Boot Screen (Logo.sys) that will splash on your screen during boot, but you can do that with any bitmap image. It will not work as an actual Logon screen except in Windows XP. Also since Boot Screens only display in 256 colors, by converting them you lose quite a bit of "prettyness". Not that I'm trying to get anyone to buy XP or anything...but the OS definitely rocks!

I will go ahead and make the Logon into a wallpaper for those who do not have XP and edit the first post to add a link.

The shutting down can be due to the Power Management (ACPI or APM). Turn off all Power Management (Start->Control Panel->Power Options) and see if the problem goes away. You will also want to update all your hardware drivers to make sure they are XP compatible because that can cause problems big time.

Yeah to make it work on Windows 95/98 you will have to change the name to 'logo.sys' and resize it to 320x400. You will get some quality loss, but hey it will worth it.
Oh, and copy it to you c:\ directory.

Oooo! Just noticed I became 'Willowhand'!

Ok, Chick, how do I install this damn thing on XP? Do I need to have some program like the Desktop Themes program?

Oooo... hollowchick, another pretty one. Damn, which do I use now? Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for making this!

PS, I love XP but maybe that's because I've got a brand new spanking AMD XP 1700+ system

You can do it the easy way by installing Logon Loader (it's free) or the hard way by following the directions at ThemeXP.org.

Also, for those of you who want to change Themes on XP and not have to use a Shareware Desktop Themes program, just download and install the UXTheme Util patch supplied by TGT Soft. It works great!

oooh, I'll have to get back to you on those pictures but me loves anything from Tabula Rasa really.

And is it just me or does the text for logging off and shutting down not show on this one? It shows on the Amber one, the first one, I haven't tried the second one yet.

I think I can find some time this week to work on that idea CeCe. Purple and Silver...hmmmm....That begs for a 3D effect. As much as I like making them, free time is a luxury around here that I have quite rarely. It may take me a week or two to grant.
