Lisa,
You know that I will back you 110% no matter what you decide and I also know you may not want to hear what I'm about to say, but Please calm down.

This could be Joss having the biggest laugh of his life right now at our expense.

He has done this type of thing before and I find it funny that it comes out just before one hell of a long dry spell for new episodes. It will give us all a chance to worry ourselves sick for over a month.

Have a glass (or bottle)of meade. Relax...ride Dancer and play with the kitties. Sappho told me she hates it when you are upset.

I understand the symbolism behind what you are doing, but I wish you would re-consider myself. You don't take us into the Buffyverse, you take us to your world. Denying the net your talent and inspiration would be criminal in my mind.

But if you feel that is what you must do, may the Goddess grant you some other way to share your gift with others.

Blessed Be.

Lisa,
I just wanted to tell you that I really admire your writing ability and I have enjoyed your stories. I check every day for an update. I understand and respect your decision to end your writing after hearing the news today. You will be missed as much as W/T. Thanks for the wonderful things you have shared with us.

Hopefully everyone is just over reacting. It could have been planted!!! I don't think it is a reason to stop writing about such a loving couple. But alas, it is not my decision. No matter what, I will continue to try to find quality W/T fics and read them. Just cause the writers did this, doesn't mean everyone should stop their writing!! I encourage everyone to keep writing no matter what.

********** episode spoilers below! Thanks Tommo!
Okay, regarding those who think fan fic writers should continue writing even if the dreaded plot device happens...
I will boycott EVERYTHING in the Buffy franchise. I won't watch it in syndication, buy the DVDs, buy comics, buy the cards, or go to conventions. That is my right as a viewer. I encourage everyone else to do the same. Maybe then we can someday have producers think twice before continuing **** {edited to weed out spoilers.)

How does that tie into fan fic?
I have always posted my fan fic in the hopes of an equal exchange... I borrow characters that don't belong to me, and in return I hope my stories will increase the show's fanbase.
{edited out... )
No thank you, Joss. I won't be watching Buffy or Firefly, or any of your shows ever.

{edited out spoilery rant)

So, no fan fic for me. It's free publicity for BtVS and I won't support the show in any way if they do the unthinkable.
Lisa
PS. As I said, I'm gonna finish this story, but that's probably it. It's sad because I have 160 pages of the next story already written and it was a far better story that the one Joss W is apparently going to tell this season.
PSS if this does come to pass, I have a ton of BtVS merchandise to offload. I can't even look at my Amber Benson auto card right now. It, along with everything else, will be heading for ebay.

Um, do you think it's wise to be posting spoilers in this thread? I'm sure the unspoiled who read your fic won't thank you for it.

Not a criticism. Not at all. I understand your point of view totally. Just a tip.

Lisa,
We all feel your pain, but take a deep breath. It hasn't happened yet, and there are alot of things out there pointing to the fact that it may not be true and just a wicked spoiler planted by ME to throw everyone off. Read Blue 77's post in general spoiler page for those arguments.
Having said that, if it does turn out to be true, then I'm with you on the boycott. And like you, I spend alot of money on merchandise. But I will greatly miss your stories.

P.S.-Maybe Joss' lesbian friends could have a little discussion with him.......

Just wanted to pop in and let you know, Lisa, that whatever you decide to do upon the outcome of this season, I support you 100%. I have enjoyed your writing since back in the "She Who Hesitates" days and your stories led me to start reading W/T fic.

So, no matter what, thank you for your stories and the beautiful places you have taken us in your imagination.

Could anyone tell me where I could possibly find more of Lisa's stories? I have downloaded about 6. Does she have anymore? Aside from being great stories, they also make great "time sucks" at work when I have nothing to do.

Whatever you decide, I am with you 1,000 percent! I will miss your stories a great deal but I can see why you'd stop writing. I sugest going to www.spoilerslayer.com and reading more about what's going to happen if you haven't already done so. It explains a LOT more in detail.

Lisa, there is hope!
What you wrote on the other board and here, really touched me and I understand why you are so upset about the spoilers. Of course, I hardly know you, so "I understand" is always relative but still...I see where this disappointment is coming from. And, Lisa, have faith!
The season is not over yet and I also think that you shouldn't give up on your writing..you wrote some of the most terrific W/T fics ever and IMO they should prevail even if Joss decides to be a jerk. Whatever you do, we'll all support it. Please, just don't give up.

I'd love to see an ending to your current masterpiece but it's OK if you don't want to complete it.

I'm just so sorry.

Thanks xita, I really had a hard time going to this thread and not being spoiled.

Although I am unspoiled and plan to stay that way, even I could figure out that there is something going on that people are really upset about. Again, I really don´t want to know, so Lisa, if you decide to continue the story and maybe include the spoilers, please warn me. It will be hard, but I will just have to wait until the end of the season to continue reading. And if you decide to not continue the story, which would be such a pity, because you have already put so much work into it, of course I will understand.

Well, thinking about it, maybe I won´t even return to the board anymore until the end of the season. I will hate it, because I love the discussions and the stories. But I hate it even more to be spoiled. I will have to give that some thought...

Thank you, xita. I am also trying to remaing unspoiled.

Lisa, I don't really know what to say. I love your work, and I would certainly feel bereft if you decide not to continue. I do understand that you are upset, and you have to go where your muse takes you, or not go to places where your muse has locked and barred the door. (if that makes sense.) *sends hugs*

Hush, I had the same problem. I first thought it might have been my connection speed, because when I later tried to download the stories again, it worked. But sometimes I have the problem even with a fast connection. When that happens, I usually shut down the computer completely and then try again. So far, it has always worked, in one way or the other. I don´t really know what the reason for the problem is, but would like to know also. Maybe Lisa does???

Postby Kalita » Sun Mar 10, 2002 5:06 pm

Okay, I'm stepping gingerly through here to avoid being spoiled on anything.

Just let me say this - I stay unspoiled for a reason. it's so stuff like this DOESN'T bug me; I have enough stress in my life without worrying about what may or may not happen next on my favourite TV shows.

I watch the episodes as they air, and go from there. If something extremely upsetting and traumatic happens, I'll deal with it then and put the blame where it belongs. Until then, I don't plan to lose sleep.

This may be cold comfort to those who have been spoiled, but I'm just letting out my own steam.

Lisa, I'm glad to hear this story, at least, will be finished, and I do hope that more may come in future.

Now, as for my writing. (!) Yes, I am actually working on a W/T story now, which is what I'm using to distract myself from the current storm of things here. No matter what happens on the show, I intend to keep going with this work (and there's still some possibility it may never see the light of day, but I'm optimistic), and still post it in the spirit of my favourite TV couple.

I hope other authors might do the same, but that's up to them to decide.

Well, that's my thoughts on everything. I'll be back once things have (relatively) calmed down.

Kalita
