My first wallpaper

Postby Pixie-Muso » Thu Sep 20, 2001 5:35 am

OK kitties, it's nothing special considering it's only a first attempt. I just thought I'd post it anyway. It's based on one of my fave eppies: "Family".

(It seems we have to copy and paste the url - thanx for pointing that out tommo) http://www.geocities.com/pixie_muso/family-improved.gif

or now I've saved it also as a JPEG, so it's up to you which URL to look at it under (you still have to copy & paste it to your browser though):
http://www.geocities.com/pixie_muso/family-improved.jpg

Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,

~Pixie~

Pixie, you can never have too much 'Family' type snuggling. It's lovely.

One thing though, to link to geocities, you need to copy and paste the link in your browser, so here it is:

Wow, I love this - it's my new wallpaper! Don't know if this helps, but I noticed that you saved it as a GIF image. Wallpaper is usually saved as a JPEG because the JPEG format compresses better and because it can handle millions of colors (especially good with photos). GIF can only handle 256 colors, so it is best used with line art or flat coloring.

I love your choice of pics in this piece. You captured the best moments. Thanks for posting it!

Technically this is hundred percent correct... but still, being it in gif it makes for an intresting feel, don't you think?

Love the colorscale you used Pixie! Me wants more.

Thanx for all the feedback guys. I'm glad you like it. Your positive comments mean a lot to me.

About saving it as a GIF, I created it in Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and it would only let me save it as a PSD or export it as a GIF. This morning I tried converting it to a TIF then converting it again as a JPEG, but then it would open. Oh well, any kitties have any suggestions about that?

KittyKo- Did you try to cut'n'paste the URL? If that didn't work, I can e-mail the GIF to you if you like (it's just that the file may be huge).

Hmmmm.... any peeps have any ideas on how to help Lonewolf view the page? I'm looking into moving to another server, so maybe it'll work then.

Right now, the only thing I can suggest it to try and cut'n'paste the URL later.

Sorry

If you flatten the layers (Layer/Flatten Image) it should then give you the option of saving it as a JPEG. Hope that helps.

Ok, I've converted it to a JPEG. I can't believe how easy it was... and how much of a nutter I was not to have figured out how to do it earlier.

I'll upload it and post it here as soon as I can (hopefully create some more wallpapers too).

Once again, thanx for all your feed-back and affirmations guys. I appreciate it.
