Question about wallpapers

Postby tyche » Tue Sep 04, 2001 1:27 pm

Okay, I have a couple of ideas for wallpapers. But (stupid question alert) I have absolutely no idea how to go about making one. Do those of you who make wallpapers use a particular programme, and if so, where can I get it? Or is this something I should know already and I should just slink off and hang my head in shame?

Hi.

I use Photoshop 6.0 for my wallpapers, but PhotoDeluxe will probably work just as well (and save you something like $400).

Both these programs have functions and tools that allow you to...
--change color values
--paint in details
--"smudge" or copy details
--blur an image or part of it
--add text of different colors and textures
--alter contrast and darkness
and so on. You can find tutorials in books (like the "...For Dummies" series) and on the web, but methinks experience is in many ways the best teacher.

If it be there, I care not of
That other book Above...
Strike it out! Or write it in anew.
But let it be in the Book of Love!"

Just for your information if you go to: http://www.warezcrawler.org/cgi/search. ... type=warez

and do a search for adobe photoshop - and you will get various listings for places to download the program (beware though you may have to get through some porn pop ups to do this).

Then go to: http://www.astalavista.com

and you can find the crack (registration code) for the program. When you get there choose Altavista box from the first drop down box - type in adobe photoshop (whichever version you downloaded) and various cracks sites will be listed. The best (I think anyway) is cracks.am -- but any should work. Again you have to get through some porn.

Another great site for programs is: http://www.wg-post.com/index.php?id=appz
But again - gotta struggle through some porn to get what you want.

Not that I'm a big wallpaper creator but I use Photoshop 5 for my wallpapers (love layers). But I do agree that you can do just as good a job with the cheaper packages like PhotoDeluxe and Paint Shop Pro.

WiccanBex; 3rd sign of the apocalypse - someone on the internet has mentioned 'porn' and 'avoid' in the same breath

I use Paint Shop Pro 6. Its the best graphics program I've used - and I've used thousands (probably!).
