So... anybody else pick up their copy yet? I just finished reading it. It's cute. And the photo cover, while obviously fabricated, is very pretty. I gotta say, though, I'm not a fan of Terry Moore's style. But then, I'm kind of a comic snob - after Shirow, everyone else pretty much looks like a bunch of amateurs.

Still, the story was cool (and set during the Angel episode "Sanctuary", so it's kind of... subtle from a W/T romance perspective) - not as dark as some people like it, but I'm not gonna complain. Except about Amber not writing as much as she should.

Well i went to my local comic shop at three this afternoon only to find it closed!!! Yes closed!!! But i'm gonna go to the comic shop in Chester tomorrow and see if the've got it in there...they better had.
I heard it's meant to good...but then again Amber had something to do with it so it's got to be good.
As for artists i really like Stan Lee the guy who did the Spider-Man comics, he's probably my favourite. And i like Rich Buckler and Gil Kane too, and i don't think Terry Moore's that bad either Then again i'm an obsesive comic collecter, it's my guilty pleasure

Okay. Here's some spoiler space, which will be followed by an extremely glossy (and probably a little snarky since I've been reading a lot of MBTV lately) recap...

As the comic begins, Willow feeds Tara a grape. They're having a picnic. It's all sweet 'n' stuff, until they're interrupted by one Caitlin Macklin, who knows them from Wicca group, and thinks the group is lame without them. They were kinda hoping for a private picnic, however, so they quickly motor, Willow pausing only long enough to slip in a little jab at Charmed.

Later that night, Willow, Xander, and Anya are waiting in line outside the Bronze discussing Willow and Tara's new stalker, though Willow doesn't seem to think it's that bad. Their conversation is interrupted by Kelly, the scary Wicca group leader, who also has nothing good to say about Caitlin. Willow yells at her, and they go on inside. Meanwhile, Caitlin is stalker-ing Tara (whose room looks a little different than it did in the series, but I digress); Caitlin gets all offended when Tara calls her an amateur, and goes running off, eventually stumbling over a root and, in turn, stumbling over a spell to summon Morrigan, an ancient Celtic goddess. Blah blah blah bad-mojo-cakes.

The next morning, Willow and tara discover that two or three of the girls from Wicca group are dead, and immediately suspect a pattern, and end up at Caitlin's door. Caitlin 'fesses up, and Willow and Tara split up to try to come up with a solution faster; Willow goes to warn the other girls from Wicca group while Tara works with Caitlin to try to reverse the summoning spell or come up with a ward or something. Willow returns just as Tara is taking Caitlin's hand off her knee, but it looks a bit intimate to Willow, who's kind of upset until Tara explains that nothing was happening and gives her a hug. Caitlin sits on the floor looking pathetic.

Willow 'n' Tara gather the survivors of the Wicca group and Caitlin and head out into the forest where Morrigan was originally summoned to try to end her evil, etc, etc. Magical fighty McFight, and Morrigan is bound in the form of a dead tree.

The next afternoon, Willow and Tara host another picnic for the Wicca group survivors. Caitlin is all apologetic, but lets slip that she's the new Wicca group president. Wah Wahh Waaaaahhhhhhh!

Actually, "Sanctuary" was on the same week as "New Moon Rising", so, since it's still before "The Yoko Factor", they're not all that couple-y. There's a fair bit of hand-holding and a couple of hugs, but no smoochies. Dammit, they need to get with the program! I put smoochies in a comic book last summer, fer chrissakes! .

Perhaps this summer I should go for full-contact nudity, instead? ...

Well, grabbed mine on the way home. Some really nice stuff, especially the picnic and the little whispered love affirmation. Awwwwwwwwwww.....

On top of that, we get some arcish resolution! If you're wondering why the hostile wicca group in "Hush" becomes the big circle-o'-friends in "Family", this covers it. Plus, Tara prays to Thespia a few times - proving it was the spell, and not the patron, Tara was objecting to in "Goodbye Iowa".

All in all, a great effort. Don't miss Amber's blurb a the end!

Aha! I found it! I have Dennis's comic bookmarked at home, but alas not here at work. Then I remembered that when Dennis first posted about it at eGroups it was post number 6666. Kinda hard to forget that number.

Dennis, I remember reading the first page of your comic ages ago but I've never seen the rest. It's brilliant, but the last frame on page 2 will be giving me nightmares. *shudder* :-)

sigh...you know, one of the reasons why i moved to new york city is that here you get everything FIRST. movies, books, museum exhibits, fashion trends. it's the cutting edge. so naturally, i expect to get my comics FIRST, or at least at the same time as everyone else.

so imagine my surprise when today, i go to the comic store and am told that "our new comics won't come in until tomorrow. the shipment was delayed because of the holiday." oh i'm sorry, wasn't the holiday on a SUNDAY??? *not*, say, a work day? and funny, didn't the comic ship to most of the REST of the country? but nooo, for some reason, the distributors for new york city decided it was too inconvenient for them to celebrate easter/passover (both of which ended on sunday) *and* ship their comics on time.

damn religions. delaying my enjoyment of the w/t comic...grr...

okay, rant done. glad you guys are enjoying it.
