You have NO idea how long I've waited to make a post with this subject line.
Uh, anyway, since it is Bad Movie Good Friday, I was wondering what are Willow and Tara's favourite bad movies? And do they ever imagine themselves starring in any of these movies?
Anyway, kitties, have a good day and enjoy the weather if it's sunny where you are as well.

I got my red belt in Taekwondo today! In May I have my black belt test. That gives me a little more than a month to perfect my yeopchagi. I think it's called a side kick in English. I love that I don't know what anything is called in English, but I can certainly tell you all the Korean names!

Bad movies are the best. Everyone always has their favorite bad movies to watch at certain times. Being stoned of course makes any bad movie the best movie in the world. But I think magic weed is the only weed in the Summers house. I'm having a brain freeze right now, and can't seem to think of any Tara or Willow appropriate bad movies. Of course, I see way too many bad movies on Korean TV, so by now I probably think all the bad movies are good anyway.

So have a happy Friday, happy good Friday to the Christian Kitties. I barely knew it was Easter this weekend (Easter doesn't seem to be that big in Korea, even with the Christians -- my host father is a Presbyterian minister even).

Ah, and what a glorious Good Friday it is too. I'm going to see Thea Gilmore play at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut tonight and I can't wait.

Congratulations La. I, like Tara, am not so good with the fighting. I think I was looking the other way when they were handing out coordination.

Hmm, favourite bad movies. I'm actually not sure what the girls would like. I'll say Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze, 'cause everyone secretly loves this film. It's so cheesy it's practicly pizza. I can't imagine any of the girls wanting to play a character. Unless it's the scene where Patrick lifts the girl and... Nah. This is just an excuse for me to display my appauling taste in movies.

Have a wonderful day kitties!

Bad movies are practically a religion to me. I have more bad movies than I care to admit in a public forum. But let me just say I have WAY too many MST3k tapes.

I bet Jessie, Xander and Willow watched MST3k as kids. With Willow questioning all the premises (as a preteen would) and Xander repeating the show mantra to her, "Just repeat to yourself 'it just a show and I should really just relax'". Hmm, maybe advice I should take myself. Nahh.

We also know that they enjoyed watching Indian television. Something I SO get! I love watching Indian/Bollywood movies, can't understand a damn thing that is going on, even when they are in English, but they are fun. My wife and I both agree that Indian women are some of the most beautiful in the world.

Tara. Harder call there. I always thought of her as more of a print gal. Not watching much TV or movies. Maybe the Evil Dead Trilogy (Groovy!) or old Godzilla movies. Cause who doesn’t love those. Just had an odd mental picture of Tiny Willow and Teeny Tara dressed up as the little girls from Mothra.

Wasn't Willow a big fan of cheesy Bollywood musicals?

I've got to go with "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." It's a classic. Add in any Brat Pack movie from the 80's. Oh! And we can't forget the truly horrible, yet wonderfully funny, "Sword of the Valiant."

Warlock - I too am a mst3000 fan - best show on before Btvs. Best movie on it was a film with Mamie VanDoren (forget the name) but it had a killer musical number about bananas. I still laugh when I think about it.

Indian musicals - super great!! Have you seen "Ghost World"????

i donno. maybe it's me. plus this is actually a rather good movie. cinematographywise especially, but my instinct reaction is w/t, definitely fond of Bound. i mean who isnt? right? plus, it's all kickin bad dude touchas, outsmartin 'em etc, and that's what the scoobies do. i'd say there's a good chance they watch the dvd as often as.....a very good friend of mine does.

It's horrible! That's me as a vampire. I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay.

Happy Friday everyone!
Just been to the forest enjoying the very nice easter-weather.
But then on the radio, on the to the forest, there was a program about beliefs. And some dude told the hosts about his beliefs, which was that Jesus still is alive, and that he had talked to him and been cured by him. He told that Jesus could cure every illness, even...and hang on now...gayness! BULL!! I just got so pissed...what a jerk!! Grrr...
And then I started to wonder...do you think Jesus was homophobic??

Oh! The White Stripes. Now, there's a band... Personally, I am just chillin' after band rehearsals all afternoon ... to be followed by ... band rehearsals all evening. And there's only one thing to say:

My fingers hurt!!!!

I'm also listening to New Boots and Panties, by Ian Dury and The Blockheads. Was there ever a more diamond geezer? I think not.

Anyway, am too frazzled to answer questions, so I shall just say

Happy Easter, Kitties!

I don't know about Willow & Tara, but my favorite bad movie is "Drop Dead Gorgeous". I'd heard it was terrible, but it frankly cracks me up every single time I see it. Plus you get Alyson Janney as trailor trash. And as a poor taste Good Friday tie in a girl singing "Can't take my eyes off of you" to a 6 foot replica of Jesus on the cross. And let's not forget the dog impressions!

I'm thinking Willow might like the Crucible so she can get all angry and stuff and Tara would like something with koalas in it...
myself - I saw Godzilla vs Mothra recently. Let me tell you - it was so bad...it would have helped my enjoyment level, had I been drunk

Oh, I have the perfect Bad Movie for W&T, and it's going to be shown on SciFi channel tomorrow (Saturday) night in the US -

"Last Man On Planet Earth"

Written by Ken Biller, of the Star Trek franchise.

Lesbians rule the world (in the not-too-distant-future) because the silly war-mongering men went and made a bioweapon that kills %98 of people with the Y chromosome. Plot not good/bad enough for you yet? Well, listen to this.

Hetero wimmin are closeted and persecuted, and there's this secret sexual society that prostitutes out the few surviving men to the highest, str8 bidder.

Also, a rag-tag group of right-wing-nutball men are planning a "revolution" - except there's only about 50 of them in the world.

The *real* (bad) plot, though, is a str8 scientist who bioengineers a man. This is extra creepy as one day the kid is like, 5, and a week later he's all growed-up and full of hormones for science lady/maternal figure. Ewwww.

Anywho, lots of women kissing each other, raising families, and dissing men (fun), but also piggish male revolutionaries and an incredibly predictable plot.

So, for MTS3K style fun I'm sure W&T (and maybe some of you kittens) will tune in tomorrow night. Check your local listings.

wiccie, you've just reminded me of the worst film I've ever seen. It was some Russian sci-fi thing about how women had taken over the world and made men obsolete. Anyway, the last two men alive (who had been frozen or something and woke up in this new world), conspired to make their sperm essential and reintroduce men into the world.
It was extremely bizarre and I don't remember that much about it, b/c I saw it about 10 years ago.
Anyway, that's my contribution to today's list of bad movies.

I'm not sure if Willow or Tara would like these, but for some reason I like Howard the Duck, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, and Ice Pirates.

------------------
"I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin." Willow, Superstar
"I want my room to be Willow-friendly." Tara, New Moon Rising

"I present to you, the 5 assed monkey"
"Now who put his who-who-dilly in your cha-cha?"

This is one of my favorite movies too. I think it's partly cause I'm actually from MN and the screen writer is from my hometown of Rosemount. Mount Rose -- Rosemount. Hmmmmm. My favorite part of Denise Richards' song is when she pulls the velcroed hands off the cross and wraps them around her. Or how about at the end, when she carries it off on her back?

Definitely have to agree with whoever said Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Oh and the Evil Dead Trilogy.

Autumn: I totally agree with you on Drop Dead Gorgeous. I heard it was horrible too but had to see it because I love Allison Janney. She is so freakin' hilarious in this movie! I love this movie and have seen it tons of times. I think my favorite part has to be the previous year's winner singing and "dancing" from the wheel chair.

A few more of my fave bad movies are Miss Congeniality, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, The Police Academy Series, and tons of bad 80's movies. I also have a penchant for old movie musicals.

Willow: Earth Girls are Easy, Transylvania 6-5000
Tara: Time Bandits, Dreamscape

Ok...I just scared myself. I had to call my mom for the last one because my brain was failing me and we had a 15 minute conversation about all the bad 80's fantasy movies we used to watch. One last one, Clash of the Titans.

I'll shut up now, I promise.

I might troll through all four Superman movies this weekend. God knows it's preferable to telly. Ugh.

Anyway, I'm hoping to make it to church on Sunday, all things considered. I'm a Xmas and Easter Catholic...yeah...I know it's bad but hey, I just want to keep a toe in there because you never know when you might need it.

How about "Shag?" My sister and I absolutely love that film. We quote it to death, but sadly none of our friends are familiar with it. I could see W/T possibly liking it--four girls go on a summer trip after high school. It's cute.

And "The Parent Trap," I mean, the song alone, "Let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah. We can have lots of fu-un!" So very cheesy, but wonderfully so. Hayley Mills and Hayley Mills, yup, sounds like a good flick to me. But I always wondered why on earth California Hayley Mills had an English accent when her Dad was very obviously American. But I won't say a word, not one single word

Today my paper had a follow-up letter to the Buffy Easter egg article I posted the other day:
quote:
Buffy, as well as saving the world a lot, rose from the dead in spectacular fashion at the beginning of series six - and she'd been dead three months, not three days. I think an Easter egg is the least we can do.

Amusing, no?

Hey, congrats! I'm taking my black belt test in June! Good luck on yours! I guess my dojang is a little different from yours because I've had my red belt for almost a year. Well, a year in June.
Anyway, on a movie note but not the same as the rest of the group. Has anyone seen Panic Room yet? It comes out today and looks really good. I also wanted to see Resident Evil but I got such mixed reviews about that. Some people said it sucked and some loved it. Anyone?

Congrats, La! Good luck on the black belt test in May, too!

ShadowCat - Girls Just wanna have fun was also the first one I thought of! *grin* Someone also already mentioned Earth Girls are Easy. Hmmmmmm.... Maybe Sing. It is a bad 80's musical movie. *grin*

I have heard mostly negative comments about Resident Evil, so I will most likely wait til it comes out on video. Tonight is Panic Room! I have heard nothing but good things about it, so I am excited! Also, I still need to see ET in the theatre and I do want to see the new LOTR trailer. Do you know that they are releasing Fellowship of the Rings on DVD twice? Once in August (a two disk set) and again in November (a three or four disk set) Should be interesting!

Well, back to work! Have a great day, kitties! Happy Easter!
