Well the Oscars have come and gone. Every year I get my hopes up for who *should* win only to be reminded that this is only a popularity contest not to far removed from the ones we had in high school.

So. For our W/T Question O' the Day.

What movies do the girls like to watch?

I can see Willow liking cheesy Sci-fi and Disney films. I am sure she watched a lot of those with Xander as little kids.

Tara, indie films!

Together I bet the like to watch sappy love stories that they know are sappy, but still get sucked into.

Thoughts?

Oh and it is unnaturally bright here in Chicagoland. Did the sun go supernova and I just didn't hear about it?

I got a tiny problem, it seems like every other post is fine but I only see 13 pages of the Once and Again thread, then I open the 13th page and then I can click on the 14th page but not on the main board type thing. Doesn't really matter, I think it's my IE screwed up.

Happy Wednesday!

I just coughed for a straight minute and had tears streaming down my face. That was fun. Can I please do that every day?

Warlock, the sun is just so happy to see you, he's smiling extra brightly today. or maybe the snow is making everything brighter? (My dad said there's about an inch, in Glenview anyway, don't know where you are though).

Righteous Babe, sometimes the board seems to go a little wonky, so maybe it's that. Or maybe it is just your IE.

On to the W/T question. I think that both of them would have a soft spot for old Disney cartoons like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. I think that Willow would also have a thing for action movies, like Mission Impossible, or the Fast and the Furious.

RB, after 12 pages the next page of a thread won't show on the main board until it has 3 posts. You'll have to access the next page through the previous one until it shows up on the main page of the board.

Oooh! I wanna rant too!

In the last week, Quebec has received not one, not two but three, yes 3 feet of snow!

End of rant.

La, I'm sorry you're still sick... Take good care of yourself... If you ever wanna try native american mojo for your coughing, boil a pot of water, throw a couple of sticks of cinammon and fresh sage, a towel over your head an breathe mouth open for 15 minutes, 3 times a day. It might help unclog (sp?) the mucus in your lungs, making it less dry and sticky, and you'll cough large bits of greenish goo for about a day. Then you're done

As for Willow's movies? I'm guessing historical dramas and sci-fi, a la "La Reine Margot" or "Elizabeth".

Tara's? Harder to guess but... Indie movies and documentaries, fantasy as well, a la "Mists of Avalon" (even though it was terrible, but you get the point).

Anyway, I'm off moving snow from the driveway to the side of the driveway. Rewarding? No. Fun? You betcha ass it's not.

Happy Wednesday Kitties!

HEY CHICAGO AREA KITTENS!!!!

I have two tickets for the museums downtown (Adler, Field, Shedd and Science and Industry) that my wife and I can't use.

They are only good till March 31st. But they completely free!

I would rather not just throw them away, but if any Chicago people want them, send me an email!!

web.warlock@attbi.com

I'll give them to the first person (people, I have two tickets) that email me and can arrange a way to get them to you.

EDITED TO ADD: I got the tickets on their way! Thanks all!!!

Thanks!

Warlock.

I just ran to get some coffee here in the Windy City, and you are right - my eyes hurt(then again I sat in front of my computer yesterday for hours. That could have something to do with my blindness). But after the snow yesterday, I finally feel like spring is here!!!

As for movies...I see Willow liking sword epics, like Excalibur. Tara would go for classic romance.

Merchant Ivory. I mean, who doesn't like Merchant Ivory. Um, apart from the people who don't like Merchant Ivory, that is...

Anyhoo...

I'm still snuffling this morning. Bah. I hate colds. Hate coughing and stuff. But I slept like a baby last night. A baby with enough calpol in it to sedate a small elephant. Oh yeah.

Calpol? No, no, my bint. It's ALL about the Nyquil.

I've had a horrid sinus cold the past few days, but woke up this morning (post-Nyquil coma) feeling quite a bit better, finally. No more grumpy Julia is a good thing.

As far as the question of the day, I think Willow would be keen on documentaries and animated Disney movies where the heroine is rewarded for being good, and that Tara would like old classics such as Casablanca and Gone With the Wind, and fantastical 80's movies like The Neverending Story, Labyrinth, and The Dark Crystal.

I bet Tara liked lots of older films too. I mean, we know she's familiar with Charles Laughton. I can just see her settling down for a double-bill of Cat People (1942) and Cape Fear (1962). Then she'd get on the internet and bitch endlessly about the remakes...

Oh wait. That's me.

Willow probably liked cheesy stuff. Dirty Dancing may well have been a favourite chez Rosenberg. I often wondered why I felt a teensy-tiny bit more affection towards Tara than Willow, and now I know...

Afternoon folks! It seems that my shitty Monday has been repeating itself ala "Groundhog Day"...*sighs and whips out a teeny violin and attempts to play "Bitter Suite"*

I think that Tara would actually be a really big Robert Redford or Paul Newman fan. For some strange reason, her watching "The Sting" several times comes to mind. Or maybe she might fall to pieces over "Yentl" (saw a fanfic on that actually), "The Way We Were" or "Funny Girl" with Babs (Streisand so rocks).

Willow might be a Stanley Kubrick fan ala "Clockwork Orange" or "2001". She seems like the Sci-Fi/Tech movie type to me.

Just MHO.

Toni

Um... eat a lot of apple sauce, preferably fed to you by attractive young lesbians. - Amber Benson

Oh, man. I wish I WAS a lesbian. I would get laid every night for the rest of my life. - Amber Benson

Where would you like to see Willow go in the sixth season?
I hope Willow gets taller, and she gets a tan. - Alyson Hannigan

Well we know that Willow likes the Terminator and Star Wars from "When She Was Bad." She's all over the cheesy/romantic sci-fi.

Tara - I can imagine that she would suggest that they go see "Ghost World" or "Amiee and Jaguar."

I think they are both all over Moulin Rogue.

Happy Wednesday!

Just spend an hour watching a dance my little sister has made because my two cousins, aunt and onkel visits us tomorrow. It's okay, the only thing is that she has absolutely no rythme, at ALL! I've been trying to teach her some (not that I'm a good dancer), but she is impossible. Good thing that she is only 8, so that my family proberly will find her very cute, instead of ridiculous...

It's a very good day today...because like many others, I have Easter-Holliday!! Sleeping all day long is going to be great!

Anyway, for todays question...I with the Disney-Willow thing, and for Tara I'm thinking fantasy movies...I believe she could be a fan of Tolkien, and therefore LotR!!

Happy Wednesday once again...

Don't forget Planet of the Apes, too. The original one with Charleton Heston, I mean. I'll bet Willow and Xander saw lots of movies together when they were growing up.

I'm not sure what kind of movies Tara would like. For some reason, the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movies come to mind, but I don't know why.

I'm still plugging away on my book today, and also resting up for the big Easter weekend choral marathon. It's a fun time, although it can also be tiring.

Have a great day, everybody!

Anyhoo Ive had a weird few weeks, got my eyebrow pierced, had a bit of a personal...thing (that seemed way worse when I was drunk, as these things usually do, but is cool now), and my boss is being a right bastard (as most bosses usually are )

Ah, the Oscars. Its been like 3 days and people here in New Zealand are still stoked about the 4 Oscars the production teams won for LoTR.

I could really see Willow enjoying movies like Hackers and Sneakers. Probably anything with a bit of a scifi/tech bent and definitely the classics like 2001, Blade Runner and Close Encounters.
As for Tara, maybe some of the better foreign/Film Festival films and older 40's-50's flims, maybe even a bit of film noir.

Must say yay for easter, its almost holiday time here and for once the weather looks like it will be good. Easter is a notoriously bad time in NZ for weather so I'm sending out as many good weather vibes as I can.

Good weather to all the Kitties

OH MY GOD! This is totally off topic, (and all meant in fun, so dont freak, okay?)

I had logged off for the evening and was watching The West Wing when something happened that made log back on again.

Joss (a character on the West Wing) was on a chat board and was going off on "some woman who is the boss of the board" and was always complaining about font size, and posting in the correct thread and being on topic..... He went on to describe himself as a freedom fighter whos job it is to insite the people to overthrow their dictatorial oppressors..... it was sooo damn funny! Did anyone else see it?
