Tara Quoted in TV Guide

In the worth repeating section they have the line "I'm not sure you should say 'sex poodle' in your vows." - Wedding tip to Anya (Emma Caulfield) from Tara (Amber Benson), of UPN's Buffy the Vampire Slayer

God that's awesome, Tara is a character people are taking notice of. That's cool. And I remember the days when people would say Tara has no personality. pfff

Speaking of quotes. In the latest edition of Xbox magazine they do a five worst reasons the BTVS video game is set between seasons three and four and the number one reason is "No chance of seeing Willow and Tara 'make up'" Thought that was so great when I saw it.

Also, in this week's issue (with the 2002 TV's MVPS cover), there's one page about "Kiss and Tell". Surprise... picture of Willow and Tara (from OMWF) and the following paragraph:

"Not every network sees it that way. Buffy the Vampire Slayer executive producer Joss Whedon was sure 'nobody would mind' when the show's Willow and Tara (Alyson Hannigan, above right, and Amber Benson) had a same-sex kiss. 'It's not controversial for someone to realize they're lesbians,' he says. "That's over. [But WB executives] sais, 'Excuse me, you're doing what?' I was like, Oh my God, people still care about this!'"

The rest of the page talks about "Once and Again" and "All My Children", all about how hard is to understand why this is *still* a big deal, basically.

I always liked TV Guide. :-)

The "sex poodle" line was so funny! I'm glad to see TV Guide taking notice of Tara, and finding the things she says important.

Since I'm not very articulate this evening, I'll just ditto Xita's "pfff."

Tara: I am, you know.
Willow: What?
Tara: Yours.

xita posted a scan of that page (I didn't realize it was TV Guide until I recognized the part you quoted) on the Once and Again thread, if anyone missed it.

Edited because the board apparently doesn't handle partial URLs correctly in [url] tags.

Have any other Buffy characters been quoted in this section, or is it a first by our lovely Tara?

Because I'd love to see her be first in something just once, you know?

Yay Tara. Love that line. Love the recognition Will & Tara are getting - such great ambassadors for the show.

Thanks for the heads up, Autumn.

---------

Still Waters Run Deep, you watched Crufts? My Mum went and won her class. She was pretty excited - there were 17 other dogs! She shows West Highland White Terriers, and I knew every person they showed in the clip from one of the WHWT classes!

I love that line. Tara's got some great lines this series.
