12 step support for the spoiler-free

Postby Forrister » Wed Sep 26, 2001 1:59 pm

Poor spuckie! Feeling lonesome? I'll toddle out and give you guys a bit of support.

I am (for the most part) spoiler free but I have no idea how long that might last. Curiosity is both my greatest virtue and my most annoying vice and February is so far away. I'll remain stoic for now but I can see myself rolling over, sticking my paws in the air, and giving myself over to the dark side of spoilerdom sometime between now and then. If given a little encouragement I might be able to hold out longer.

(Puff. Do your worst. I have a cucumber. It's loaded and I'm not afraid to use it.)

Video meliora proboque deteriora sequor.
(I see the better way and approve it, but I follow the worse way.)

It's actually very boring over in the spoiler thread. Nothing much going on. Ho hum. *yawn*. We're just sitting around in there playing cribbage and eating chee-tos. You should come visit, it's really harmless. What bad could happen? The whole spoiler thing is very overblown you know, I haven't seen a spoiler in weeks.

Heh heh heh.

Ah len.

You would't be trying to lead me into temptation by any chance? (Mind you, I find such a scurrilous accusation almost unbelievable when applied to such an upright and honourable individual such as yourself. lol)

It won't work you know. (The bribes aren't big enough ... yet.)

yes yes, puff, we all know what a sinister corruptor you are! lol.

i was quite happy being completely spoiler free (i was doing very well) until u came along and *spoiled* it all...

nah... i love ya for it, really! i was going crazy trying to avoid the spoiler threads all the time!

i'll go spoiler free one day... maybe for just one ep in the season - just to see what it's like...

or maybe not...

Len waves his pants temptingly to Forristerau from the spoiler thread. Thinks a second. Comes back waving Eliza Dushku's pants. "Halloa...." *flappity flap*

Spuckie, call me a ho if you must, I mean, I am. But a spoiler ho? That's just....oh wait, it's absolutely right.

And len, waving Eliza's leather pants around will get much attention. You think if I waved her short denim shorts it would tempt more people?

Oh man! Staying away from the spoilers is WAY harder than giving up the cigs! Who would have thunk it?

I am corruptable! I can feel the pressures and desires mounting within.

I need strength. I need willow-power. I need some other diversion....how about a smoke! No wait. just kidding...

Whenever you get the temptation to give into the spoiler threads just remember that you will able to savor each twist and turn in the show in a way that only the spoiler free truly can.

Fortunately the spoiler free who are wavering in their resolve can *always* count on the loving support of the moderators of this board, who would *never* in any way promote the joys of spoilerhoness or tempt you with the promise of truly *wonderful* spoilers.

again, i ask... are there patches for this?

becayse i'd really like to go spoiler free for at least *one* episode and, right now, it seems highly unlikely to happen!

oh well... nevermind... i'll just stick to the pleasure of being able to say:

I KNOW SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW!

i'm sorry... i'm not gonna do that anymore... i'll stop. i promise.

i'll just whisper it in my head over and over again to remind me why i love spoilers.

Ok len.

I can see you flapping those sexy knickers. Floozy!

Yes, those blasted bloomers are tempting but they're like the wrapping on a birthday present. You remove them carefully, fold them neatly, and keep them to remind you of the occasion. But when push comes to shove, the contents are what you're really interested in.

Hi all,

Just popping in to get some spoiler-free support. It's driving me crazy... I haven't even seen the long promos for Buffy on UPN, so I'm doing pretty good. Luckily, I wasn't home to watch Enterprise last night and my roommate edited out all the commercials, so I didn't have to watch any of the zillion Buffy promos that aired over that time. Unfortunately, I have a tape that DOES include all the commercials, and it's soooo tempting to watch them. My roommate claims that it'll be better if I don't see them, because it'll just make the 6 day wait even more painful.

Ahhhh..must resist..so tempting....help!

Ok, it is Thursday and less than a week to stay spoiler free. We have been spoiler free for over 3 months we can do this much with no problem.
FX during Buffy re-run last night had an UPN promo with the red back ground and eyes. The new one with Dawn.
In the Friday thread (see I am psychic) you will see that Aly is on her E trip Monday night. So just get thru the weekend and you will have a big dose of Aly on Monday.

It's not the main spoiler thread you want to avoid, it is the thread for the first 2 episodes...it already has the detailed description up

And I am sure by the end of the season I'll get Spuckie to be a spoiler ho. Halycon I know you want to read them...come on just a peek.

And try waving something of Aly or Amber's to tempt them Len, that might work better

I can't imagine going spoiler free all this time. Even to think about not reading the spoiler threads, not downloading all the promos, not analyzing Xita's great screencaps, not basking in all the W/T goodness. If I tried to avoid all that, I'm sure my head would explode.

So hats off to all those who have so much more discipline than I do. It's downright frightening - I mean impressive, yes impressive!

Well, glad to hear my discipline is frigh... er, impressive.

I just make sure I'm in a calm state of mind whenever I visit the board. I don't allow the spoiler threads to suck me into their evil clutches. I read the threads I want to read, no more.

I am the rock. The water flows off me. The wind blows around me. I remain.

Wow Scout! Just let me put on some dark glasses to counteract all your glowing righteousness!! No promos, no stills, golly!

I look at promos and stills like little clouds on the horizion. I like to see them and speculate on the possibility of rain, hail, cyclone, or great flood. It makes it fun. With spoilers I just don't want to know (with a sure and certain knowledge) what is going to happen.

I managed (somehow) to remain mainly spoiler free for 'The Gift' and I had great fun with my mates running a betting pool on who was going to buy the biscuit. (We decided that someone had to die and there were going to be numerous non-fatal casualties.) I lost out on the biggie - my money was on Spike followed by Dawn. But I cleaned up on Anya. It was fun.

They say you can never get a good bribe unless you ask for it yourself. So len. If you send me two really great pictures of Amber butt and one nice Aly butt (no shoddy stuff, no substitutes, and no repeats) I'll sneak over and post on the spoiler thread just for you. Now you couldn't ask for fairer than that!
