The red and green top looks like the one Amber wore to last years Bronze posting board party. I wasn't there, it just looks familar from pics I've seen.

The part of the interview that stood out to me was this quote:

We make the ever so slightly surreal discovery that Benson actually visited the Brookside set in Merseyside before coming to Nocturnal. Anything interesting happen? "Well, I came home with one of the camera department, actually, so..." Bonus. "Exactly! No, it was really cool, because we met up - he works in publicity - when I did Live & Kicking in Scotland, with Tony, and he was like, 'Check out Brookside when you come! I'll take you out in Liverpool!' So we went, and I saw where the body was buried in the garden. It was very exciting." In all honesty, she doesn't sound 100% convincing in that last comment.

How do you guys take that? Is Amber serious? Is she dating that guy or something? Much like my cat, I'm not always the brightest bulb. What do you all make of that statement?

This stuff about Amber "slimming down" seriously irks me. She was never overweight, she never needed to slim down, and as far as I can tell she looks exactly the same as she always has. Absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous and sexy.

This talk of "slimming down" implies that the mean-spirited and just plain stupid talk about her during Season 4 was something other than utter garbage and that Amber was insecure enough to take it to heart. How many times does the woman have to say that she is happy with who she is and how she looks before it sinks in?

Tim, this was all talked about after Nocturnal itself. Apparently there was much speculating on the Essence Board; but I can't remember the thread. Anyhoo...let's not speculate. Ick.

The 'slimming down' thing is probably just their interpretation. She *does* look slimmer IRL than you expect (as she looks shorter), but as several people have suggested in the past, that's probably mainly because she's alongside SMG and Aly.

I did'nt mean to tick anyone off but please remember that I, and I assume a few others don't participate in chat so we don't know if something has been discussed or not. Considering we have talked about Alyson speaking of intimate details with her lover I thought the apparent news that Amber had a beau would be worth noting. I wish her well. I won't mention it again.

I'm not a chatter either, Nouvelle...but I think the issue here hinges on the difference between discussing public statements about a public situation--e.g. the Aly/Alexis relationship and the things Aly talked about in her Playboy interview, etc.--and speculating about private situations based on statements that have multiple possible interpretations, like Amber's above. If Amber was in a relationship and wanted the public to know, I'm sure she would make an unequivocal statement about it. Otherwise, we need to respect her privacy.

Ah, once again I find myself slightly disgusted by my own vast knowledge of British soaps.

Brookside is a Brit soap set in Liverpool. The family who occupied No.10 on Brookside Close were on the run from their abusive father/husband. The mother and two daughters were consequently found by said father and after he attacked them (several storylines including physical, sexual and mental abuse) the older daughter and her mother attempted to kill him. However, he rumbled their cunning plan and went ballistic in the kitchen, where Mandy (the wife) stabbed him with a big knife. Scared and worried, they buried him in the back garden and laid a patio on top.

The older daughter, Beth, went on to become a famous tv lesbian...but we won't go down that route.

However, a few years later, some of the neighbours working in the garden (as they do on British soaps) discovered the body and consequently called the police. The wife and daughter were found guilty of murder and were put into prison. The older daughter died in prison (but that's what happens to tv lesbians in Britain, no casting spells and conquering nasty families for us) but her mother was later freed on appeal.

Is that right? Did I get it right?

Interesting factoid: the 'Liverpool Echo' produced a special supplement during the week the trial was shown on TV as if it was a real court case. I think the actors filmed 3 or 4 different endings to prevent spoilers leaking out.

Yeah, she died previously undiscovered heart condition because Anna Friel (who played her) wanted to leave. She didn't want the character killed off, iirc, and even remarked that it's typical of TV to kill off lesbian characters.

They did indeed film several endings, so that the actors themselves didn't know what was going to happen. I remember when I found out they were guilty and I thought it was pretty typical to imprison the lesbian. Sigh. British tv. So predicatable at times.

Hey everyone,

in the new UK SFX magazine is a grrrrrreat Amber Benson interview, with pictures! Great pictures! Yummy pictures!

*fade out, fade in to yesterday afternoon.. Anneke enters her local bookshop*

Anneke: "ladiedah.. let's see if they've got something new here...like.. hey! A new SFX!" *picks it up, leafs through the magazine, suddenly sees in the 'contents' bit there's an Amber interview* "Hmm, let's see here. WOAH!" *thud*

Anyway, if nobody else has scanned or typed it in yet, I'll do it gladly. These pictures are truly gaspable and not to be withheld from my fellow Kittens.

You know I love that second picture of her there, she's just so sexy, I am mean look at her butt! sigh, but the color is off,at first I thought it was the scan, but now 2 scans same flesh color. Did they put her in too much make up?

No she does not have too much make up on, although I am not a fan of make up in any case, maybe it is the lighting.
Or maybe they decided it would be artsy fartsy to make her look like she just spent a holiday on mars, but the pics are still very sexy and these scans are great.

OH I was just reading that again and like Dazey I am shocked that they would chose to say "she's slimmed down." First of all it isn't true, second why would that be the thing you'd want to say about someone in the first paragraph. It's stupid and when I get my copy (hint Garfield) I will write them a long nasty letter about that.

Amber doesn't fluctuate in weight, only our perceptions do.

I think its some filters they've used, its thrown the colour and contrast to the dogs...being arty-farty again I s'pose.

I tried adjusting them with a photo tool [serif] and they've turned out OK'ish. When I work out how I'll post a link to my briefcase.

You are probably right Xita, I did think she looked a bit thinner (and as always drop dead gorgeous) if you compare her to a few years ago, but she is getting older, duh, and I would not be surprised if she has lost some weight the past few months, but if so it is because she has been working so very hard and not out of a conscious effort, seeing as she herself has so eloquently stated weight or looks are not what matters, it's the inside that counts. Yay for her.

The way they phrased this makes it sound like she needed to lose weight or like it is relevant somehow. BS that. The rest of the article is fine though, positive and amusing.
