my name is heather galaxy... no, it is not the name i was born with, but more people know me as that, then with my real name... anyway, i´m thinking of legally changing it...

i´m 22 and a recent graduate from northwestern... i double majored in performance studies and art... right now i´m writing from barcelona, because my girlfriend (of 2.5 years) and i are taking a whirlwind europe trip before she studies in madrid for three months...

we live in chicago, and when i get back there, i need to find me a job... being a amateur queer theorist and performance artist doesn´t yield any bucks...

and i´m vegan... and i´m pagan...

and i´ve been watching buffy since the season 1st and 2nd season reruns after the 2nd second season... i got hooked after three eps, and i haven´t missed one since... i scheduled class, work, sex, etc. for it... i´ve gotten tons of other people into the show also by making them do analysis projects on buffy for class and doing buffy research for class... i even made a buffy abstract painting once for class depending on the order the dialouge in the episode came... yes... i am... a GEEK!

Oh Heather, most excellent! My sister and I spent 10 days last summer in Barcelona and Madrid. Had a fabulous time. I think we both preferred Barcelona over Madrid. Although Madrid had a better club scene... not to say I would know about such things considering I rarely am more than 2 feet from my 'puter

Jeez freaking G! Am I am damn floating rose yet?!?!

Hey, my name is Amy and I'm from the Louisville Kentucky metro area. Technically that's Southern Indiana a.k.a. The Sunny Side of Louisville. I'm into The X-Files and British bands. I have two cats and a dog who I love dearly.

I never thought Buffy would last beyond a few episodes so I didn't watch it at first. I've kicked myself ever since. I first saw This Years Girl when a ball game was on instead of the regular program I watched. I've now seen most of season fours episodes. Much like the character of Tara I get nervous around people and occasionally stutter. Six months ago my doctor prescribed Paxil which has been a god send. I can't net surf as much as I'd like to anymore but when I can I make it a point to come here. You guys are intelligent and funny. That's it about me.

Hi. My real name is Jennifer, as you can tell from the screen name. For those who don't know, diosa is goddess in Spanish. The nickname was given to me by an ex-boyfriend. (I'm assuming he just wanted to get into my pants.)
I was born in High Point, NC. I now live in Rural Hall, NC, which is just north of Winston-Salem, NC, the cigerette capital. I'm sure you've heard of it, if you've heard of all the fussing about tobacco and underage smoking and RJ Reynolds. No I don't smoke, I have asthma and cannot tolerate smoke of any kind. I am 22 years old, and am graduating from UNCG (University of NC at Greensboro) in December of this year with a degree in English. My concentration is in Renassiance Drama, thus the Shakespeare quote at the bottom. I was just married this past Jan. to a grad student I met at UNCG.
I love this bounce guy!!
I begin watching Buffy during the re-runs of the 3rd season and was hooked instantly. I love the witty dialogue and the supernatural story lines. I've been in love with the vampire/witch/horror genre since an early age, and I don't know why I didn't start watching Buffy sooner!! I ran across this message board one day while I was surfing some Buffy sites looking for spoilers. I'm glad I did.

Hi, since I've been lurking around here for the last little while I thought this would be a great time to jump out from the shadows. My name's Eletha, but everyone just calls me Leath. I'm Canadian, and I live in the Northwest Territories. I'm 26, 27 next Tuesday, and I'm an administrative assistant.

I got hooked on Buffy in the middle of the second season. The first scene I saw was Larry's coming out in Phases, after that I was hooked. Still mad they killed him off. But I love Willow and Tara and can't wait to see what's in store this season.

I don't know what the problem is. I think it might be the gay content. My site doesn't have bad words or a single pornographic picture. GLWEB is just that gay and lesbian web. Mostly they host a gay search engine, the rainbow queery. I don't know why your firewall would be blocking this other than homophobia.

This is annoying, but it may not be homophobia per se. If the firewall is set to block out porn based on words on the page, both your site and GLWeb could be blocked because of words like 'lesbian' or 'sex', in a simpleminded effort to block junk like "The Web's Hottest XXX Lesbians" or whatever. There have been lots of stories about people trying to to legitimate searches for info on breast cancer and such that have gotten stymied the same way.

Lisa here, and I have to say it's been too long since I have gotten a chance to post amongst you fine people! Life is hectic at the moment, and I can't get more than an hour or so a night to lurk and catch up with all the latest spoilers and such.

As for an introduction, Here it goes!
I am 17 y/o, female, from New Port Richey, FL (though originally Bristol CT). I am 5'3", of slightly above average weight, with shoulder length curly brown hair. I enjoy hikes in the woods, theater, and obsessing over how cute Willow Babble can be

Okay, that completes the personal's section of the intro

Actually, I am a senior in HS this year, honor/AP student, total nerd. :: sigh:: I am heavily involved in the theater, band, and chorus programs (leadership on all!!!). I am always one of two places; School (from 7 am to 9 pm weekdays) or my computer (any other time) Oh yeah...The hellbeast occasionally yells at me to sleep or eat...details details...

As for the lesser known facts:
~I partake in the horrid act of ganking (yes yes I know...:: hangs head in shame:
~I have never physically uttered most major cuss words (i.e. ****, SHIT, CRAP), but I will type them profusely
~I sleep in the nude MUWAHAHAHA (try to get that mental pic out of your head)
~I HAVE posted a slightly pornographic pic...to willtara none the less...but I think it was for the best it was deleted....I know I know..you're all disappointed...but just PM me and I shall send you your personal copy

As for my WillTara history...I have watched Buffy since episode one, season one, never missed a single ep! I watched it with my mother none-the-less..the only TV show we ever both liked. Now, sadly, I am banned from it by this same hellbeast..er..I mean...lovely woman...She thinks WillTara will make me turn GAY! oh the horror!!
:: smirk::

Anywho, I think that's about it.
Scared yet?

Lisa

BTW, just thought I might keep some of you informed...Ali and I are going on our first date this Saturday :: swoon::

I'm Ruth. I'm 28 and a teacher of English and Drama at a *wonderful* Catholic (heh heh) secondary school in sunny Stockport....god love the north of England... I guess I'm kind of proud of my northern roots, but my grandmother is from Irish descent (as are most Catholics around the north of England)so there's a Celtic thing going on in the family that usually manifests itself in loud, rather impassioned arguments between me and my mum. Most of the time we get along just fine though. She's a sweetie. Crazy....but a sweetie.

I went to Sheffield and Liverpool universities to study and...er...play. I sometimes write stuff, as most of you know.

I like lots of things...not all of them legal, but all of them fun. I'm allergic to cats but make a real effort for friends.

I've recently filmed a series of comedy sketches for an internet tv channel, which has been taken up by the producer for a daily shoot (hurrah), so my efforts may be concentrated on that in the near future.

I have always been intrigued with the more intelligent, well written series on tv, and have watched Buffy on and off throughout the third season. A gay friend of mine was Buffy obsessed so he made me watch for a while until the Bufflove kicked in. Since then I've been a firm fan and am still smarting from the whole Emmy's incident. Poor Joss. Poor Buffy.

Guess that's it.

Oh. I really like Fuse bars. And chocolate milk. And I'm going on holiday to Chicago in October...my first time in the states. I'm easily excitable and get very giddy when overtired.

Does this sound too much like a personals ad? I'm worrying now.....

I have (obviously) a slight buffy addiction (and a penchant for understatement)
A friend got me into it in season two and I just couldn't stop laughing. didn't take long to develop a willow fixation either so i was well impressed when tara turned up.

i love this little w/t community but don't get to hang out as much as i'd like to - but i'm keeping my eye on you all and I manage to jump onto chat occassionally

hmm about me..I have a total travel fixation and at the moment all my extra energy seems to be spent on learning spanish 'cos i'm headed to south america for a year next year. (i just hope they get buffy there!)
i also (when i can manage to tear myself away from my net connection and my spoiler addiction) like to hang out outside hiking, climbing, diving, jumping out of planes etc.

I like buffy, chatting, hanging out with my friends, my names Heather, and this is my.com.. (There has to be at least one aussie around here to get that one)

I'm 17 turning 18 on the 27th of November, I live in Australia, In Victoria, ?¿Zelda did u say the Olympics start here today or something?¿ and I'm currently in year 12, studying psychology, maths, english, international studies, CISCO and wondering why everyone seems to be all stressed out and studying their asses off *for the most important year of schooling* and I'm not, yet I still seem to be getting better grades than they are..hehe

I've been watching since the 2nd season, I kinda got hooked when I used to watch half of buffy, before Voyager came on it used to keep me awake..Then I switched it to watching all of buffy, and half of Voyager and it went on from there. I'm a fic-a-holic, if you wrote it (and, u know, posted it somewhere), I've most likely read it. I don't write fic, I have a couple of times, but its not my thing.

Go the ganking! LOL over here we call it Gnoming, I am not proud to admit that I did a lot of that last year, and Lisa, if u can get a bigger gnome than Rudy (he was about 4.5" and weighed about, 50kg or so), I will be very impressed! (tip: Make friends with hockey players) Heather + Alcohol = Klepto

I used to do volunteer work at a science and technology center museum type thing, but right now I don't work, well I baby sit a bit, cos next year I'm moving to the USA and I'm going 2 be an Au Pair for a year. Then I'll come back to aussie land and go to uni, I want to study psychology, and maybe some kind of IT thing in there too, I do CISCO, but only to keep my parents happy.

I'm getting married in November.
I have a tattoo.
Im not particularly evil, or skanky.

Introduction?

Okay, let's see. I go by Ari (or Ariana - but that was taken for this board). I'm usually a lurker on the willtara list but for some odd reason I've gone from being a spoilerholic to suddenly spoilerphobic with Buffy stuff, so I pretty much stay in deep lurk and just go to the egroups site to read the messages any more for fear of being spoiled.

I think it's partly that I don't want to know what Tara's secret is, and want to watch and be surprised. I found that the amount of information that came along last year when I started getting involved in the Buffy fandom was really sort of overwhelming.

I'm something of a refugee from Xena fandom, where I've been fairly active for years and can't seem to help my addiction (even though last season sucked so incredibly badly). And there it's mainly the Gabrielle character that I've always been most interested in, because (like Tara in some ways) she reminds me so much of myself.

Specifics: Well, I'm a 28 yr old female. I live with my partner in the middle of nowhe...err Oklahoma.

I'm a writer (or trying to be one), and have been sort of trying to find my voice with that for a while.

I've always been a Buffy fan, but it's really the Tara character that got me interested in being involved in the online fandom. I think it's the shyness, combined with the great sense of mystery about her. (And, of course, Amber's incredible coolness. *G*) But I also have always really dug Faith.

That's about all I can think of. I'll be lurkin' around.

Well, I am obviously a non-registered lurker, who can't keep their opinion to themselves enough to maintain the lurker status. I have my definite opinion on just about everything, but I don't hold-it against anyone for having a differing POV, in fact I appreciate people who have their own individual way of doing/saying things-as long as they can respect me for the same reason. I am a huge Tara/Willow fan. I am currently writing a part 2 to the Demon in The Closet: http://pinkrabbit.simplenet.com/subtextfic/buffy/cds218/demoninthecloset.htm (yes, even more T/W fan-fiction). Which I hope to use as a spring-board to launch the newest BTVS spin-off (tentatively titled) "T&W: The Power of Two!" I have aspirations to have my own syndicated radio show-an "Open House Party" with John Garabedian: http://www.openhouseparty.com/ type deal. However, I have first got to get a radio station to hire me and give me the experience/training I need. I have, to date, sent at least 1000 e-resumes with "demo".wav(s) to the Program Directors of the USA. Um, I would say I am more suited to writing, even though I have a tendency to write 50 to 75 pages and find myself stuck in a lazy streak. I have 5 currently un-finished projects awaiting my attention to return. I, also, write poetry. I am rambling, but you still don't know the half of it. But, I'll direct you to some magnificent artwork: http://www.geocities.com/se_hammond/gallery.html http://www.fred.net/joellen/index.html http://joellen.artistnation.com/ the artist does pet portraits, the prints and other such merchindise is currently available for purchase.
In case your wondering, YES! I am IN-LOVE with MY soulmate, who is IN-LOVE with ME and we are going to spend eternity together.
I am sure there's something I've forgotten. Check all the current post.......because I've got some opinions/you can learn more about me(not much, but some).

Hi Tim, I like tigers too. I work at a toy store and we have the cutest stuffed tiger. She's realistic looking with her tongue sticking out and comes with a little cub. I have a tendency to pat her on the head every time I walk by. The tongue cracks me up.

I've watched only two epsisode of the first serie, Angel and Teacher's pet. I didn't even knew it was a tv show back then. I realy started watching when Angel went bad.

It's about all I have to say about me. I'm hoplessly devoted to my Boyfriend and my little kitty.

Hi, my name Teresa. I've been lurking on this board for quite some time. I love it. I finally found a place where people love Willow and Tara as much as I do.

I've been watching Buffy since season 1 (when it first starting airing on Sky 1 in the UK). When I moved back to the states in '98 I missed a big chunk of Season 2 and quite a few episodes of Season 3.

There really isn't that much to tell about me. I live in North Carolina currently, but hope to be moving within the next year or so *crossing fingers*. I'm a short order cook and I hope that is going to be changing here in about a year as well.

I really love this board and I look forward to hanging out and posting more.

Howdy Y'all,

Well, the enthusiasm is so catching 'round here that I just can't stay lurky anymore, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Cylinda, and I currently live in the beautiful state of Georgia, though I am originally from the great state of Texas.

I started watching Buffy in season 4, compelled to do so after reading the synopsis of every season 1-3 ep in the Entertainment Weekly viewers guide which came out before the start of season 4. Hurrah for EW!!

Ever since I saw "The Freshmen" I was hooked, and have spent more time than I care to admit getting caught up on seasons 1-3 and just basically submerging myself in all things Buffy.

I'm very pleased to have found this board, I love the w/t relationship (not to mention willow and tara themselves) and it's nice to be around others who feel the same.

That does it for me for now, I'll have to try to fight my lurking nature every now and then and try to contribute to some discussions (although as long-winded as I tend to be once I get started, that may not end up being a good thing)

morning (er, afternoon) everyone...finally getting around to writing that intro...

so um, i'm april, 23, born on the cusp of leo/virgo, left handed (formerly ambidextrous), almost 5'6"...um...what else...

i currently live in brooklyn, NY, but originally hail from santa cruz, CA. (and imho w & t should be going to UC santa cruz, not UC sunnydale...UCSC's got quite the uh, "wiccan" scene, i hear...)

i went to brown university in providence, RI, from which i graduated with a degree in spanish in 1999.

i have two kitties fantasticos, and am currently borrowing a third from my housemate.

i work for a non-profit organization called LGIRTF - the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force. the org's website is http://www.lgirtf.org/ if anyone wants to know more.

i've been a very occasional buffy watcher for a couple of years now, due mostly to my hopeless crush on alyson hannigan (sigh...)
when i caught wind of the w/t buzz, i tuned in more frequently, and got hooked. they are *the* cutest couple on tv, bar none!

so i think that's it...hey, if there are any of you out there in the NYC area (and there *have* to be, right?), make yourselves known! we may be farthest from the studio where w/t magic gets made, but gosh darn it, the eps air here first!

nice to meet all of you, though...

Adding to the introduction 0

My name is Little Willow and I've been watching BtVS since day one. With my username based upon Willow, it's obvious who was my favorite character as soon as the series premiered back in 1997. I've been an avid fan ever since.

I'm female and I'm an actress stuck working in retail right now to save money to move to Los Angeles and pursue my career there. (I'm already on the West Coast and so close...but so far away.) I act, sing, dance, write (songs, screenplays, poems, plays, shows), direct and more. I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music - all things that encompass my personal passions. You've never seen me in anything national - yet - but luckily I have a few other pro credits to my name so far. I'm credited as co-writer for the lyrics to "Watching You," a song by Velvet Chain, I helped out with and was in their video for "Beyond Time," and I also help them out with promotion, etc etc. I'll trek down to LA every so often to work for them a week or two at a time. And I work for Christopher Golden, a novelist. You'll see more about that later.

I'm sharing another quick thing since we have many movie/theatre folks here: I fought tooth and nail last year to put on a play I wrote. Once I finally was granted the use of the theatre, the traumas continued. Let me tell you, we had to practice outside. In the cold. On the pavement. And here I was, directing, writing, acting, choreographing with a few folks flaking out (oh, it was lovely when one of the mains left about 2 weeks before opening night) and many people having egos the size of Sunnydale - but we got it done. Somehow, we got through it. And the performances of the show were one of the highlights of my life. One of the few moments where I saw my dreams come true. So don't you EVER let anyone tell you something can't be done. If you can dream it, you can do it. Follow your heart.

I have a website entitled Little Willow's Slayground website dedicated to the show BtVS and now spinoff Angel as well. The site branched out - some folks offered me jobs (Christopher Golden, author; Velvet Chain, band) - and now the Slayground includes various subsites which are comprehensive looks at people who work on the shows, be they actors, actresses, authors (the books/comics/companions), bands.

I run Amber's website http://www.amberbenson.net/ or, other way: http://www.efanguide.com/~amber called The Essence of Amber. I don't get paid for this whatsoever. I refuse. Amber has done so much for me as a friend and supporter that I can never repay her good deeds. In my life, I have not found many people have similar dreams, goals and desires as mine, and I am so lucky to have crossed paths with Amber. She makes darn sure I don't put myself down and I make darn sure she doesn't put herself down. It's much fun.

In any event, I don't have the best self esteem (which is just not the best thing to NOT have in this business where most people are out to promote themselves and here I am, saying, "I suck...") I'm entirely too busy, I do entirely too much, and I think entirely too much. But that's me.

Originally from Los Angeles, I must say Im downright jealous of all the filming thats going on right now around my old stomping ground...Id be sneaking around griffith park tonight if i werent up here studying for my midterm grrrrrrrrrr!

As for Buffy...cant say ive been a longtime fan...but that it was the whole Willow/Tara development that brought me on board. It took me a week to trade enough anime to collect seasons 1-4 and of course I succumbed to the goddesses that are Willow and Tara! Its amazing how genuine and sincere their relationship is...Amber and Aly do a fab job. It makes me shiver when things they do remind me of me and my own girlfriend.

One last thing, HELLyes those two should be going to Cal! Not UCSC...they have the minds which would be more appreciated here! Yay for brilliant gorgeous crunchy Berkeley girls!!!!!!!! (ok im biased...)

Hello everyone. My name is Susan. I am 18 living in Michigan and currently a senior in high school. I never watched Buffy, it didn't interest me. " Hush " was the first episode I saw and that was only because my best friend loves the show and coaxed me into watching. Though I laughed a lot, I wasn't hooked.
The next time I watched I would not escape the claws of addiction. " Who are you" was my second Buffy episode. The scene between Willow and Tara when Tara declares that she is Willow's melted my heart. I was hooked. It's kind of funny because after that scene I knew that there was obviously something between them. My best friend disagreed with me. I got five bucks after she lost that bet. :0)
I am not ashamed to admit that I live vicariously through them. Everyone who knows me believes that I live in a dream world and have no concept of reality. I think it's because of my idealistic nature. If there is someone out there as sweet and shy as Tara with Amber's beauty I hope I find her. And maybe it's far from realistic but I hope we fall in love and only love and desire each other more as the days pass until we reach the shadows of eternity.
Enough of my endless babble. Makes you wonder why I'm single hu? ;0)

utena and anthy? oi! that would be freakish...i cant imagine either willow or tara acting like anthy...i mean tara may be shy and perhaps the type whod be submissive, but i doubt shed put up with bitch slappin!
i could see wakaba and utena though! that would cute...i guess willow would fit more into wakabas shoes than tara..but tara certainly is no utena. either way its an entertaining thought. ^^;;

I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I currently reside. I've been all over the US, but I keep coming back here for some reason.

I'm a professional computer person. Technician, programmer, user, tutor, website designer, pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

Been working on computer for most of 20 years. Started way back in the old days on the original Apple ][.

Got into Buffy near the end of the first season when it first aired. Been watching it ever since.

I currently run a fanfiction website called Between The Sheets that holds fanfiction for any tv series I can get. Although it is mostly Buffy (almost 400 stories! Shameless plug. )

That's about it for me. I'm really rather dull...

Oops ... I guess I should have introduced myself here instead of delurking into some other thread. Anyway, I'm Justin from Australia and, yes, very annoyed about having to wait for season 5. I don't mind that much since they've been repeating seasons 1 and 2, so I'm finally catching up (I only started watching near the end of season 2). Love the board, love Tara and can't wait for episode 6!

Well, after being treated so nicely while briefly de-lurking on another thread...I'm baaaaack!

Got into Buffy VERY LATE--After the mid-season break. I think the first episode I saw was the one with the rose spell...I've had a friend nagging me to watch it for a couple of years, because Willow (especially the Willow of the first couple of seasons, now that I've seen some tapes) is so very much like a teenage version of my spouse.

Yes, I'm partnered to a nerdy-girl. Even talks like Willow. And dresses funny, if I don't stop her before she gets out the door and make her change.

I'm trying to convince myself that I'm not way too old for this fandom thing, but I've been having fun...and this board is neat. So I'll hang around for awhile.

Hi, Folks. I'm Fenriss. I've been lurking around for awhile, and I really love this board! It's one of the friendliest I've seen in five years of surfing. Really. And I'm so grateful to find a haven of W/T fandom after having to listen to all the stupidity and homophobia at the Bronze on the Buffy site.

I am nervously awaiting episode 6. I must say, I'm in the "hope the Secret isn't earth-shaking". I know some folks might find it disappointing, but I just don't to see them break up!

Anyway, thanks for having me

Hey, I've seen a few more faces out there. Introduce yourself. I promise you never have to de-lurk again.

Jon@han posted 10-19-2000 12:24 EST (US)

It seems I have found my people.... I have been watching Buffy ever since "The Pack", which fascinated me because THEY ATE THE PRINCIPAL! And they showed this on TV! Who could fail to be hooked by such a graphic and blatant depiction of High School.
Utena is currently my favorite anime, and I like Escaflowne as well. I'll raise the stakes and throw out "Fushigi Yugi". I bet everyone will like it too....

Anyways, the introducing part: (You'll have to forgive me, pedanticism and prolixty are my vices) My net-name is Jon@han, which, curiously enough, is pronounced "Jonathan". I'm a terrible geek; but in addition to that burden, I'm also a Classical Studies student. I'll be graduating any minute now.

I'm terribly fascinated by the W/T relationship, mostly from the Willow angle. When you are classically trained, you learn about the power of words. You see how a well-told story can affect the world. Words and stories guide culture, which mold people. Words are magic. Stories are power.
When you are a coder, you live this. I build things with text. My words become physical. Geeks mold chaos into order by their ability to describe it.
As a classical geek, then, no one knows better than I what words can do. Every human life is a story. It's how we live.

And so we return to Buffy, and specifically Willow. I've never had my story on TV before. Willow is a geek. Willow is a witch. Willow is a priestess of the forgotten Deities, and she's Jewish too. And, oh yes, musn't forget; she thinks she's kinda gay.

Stories have power. And I'm glad that someone like Willow is telling mine.
So, hey. Nice to meet you.

Hi everyone,

I think this board is great and after lurking for a while I decided that I should say hi.

My name is Hanna my GF (of 4 years) and I are currently living in Chicago (hoping to move soon). We spent two years in Oakland, CA and miss it horribly (shouts out to all the bay area friends here!)

We are both Buffy addicts and we both have huge crushes on Amber Benson.

Outside of Buffy fandom my addictions include reading (non-fiction), travel, animal rights (10 year vegetarian), music (love punk rock - - hiya Ryanpunker) and films from the 20's & 30's.

Oh and Kiwiccan, I agree that ROC is the only thing to watch in Xena anymore...*sigh*.

Hi ya all!

I finally convinced myself to de-lurk....

....as for the introductions: My name is Jan, I'm 30 years old and I live in Germany (am I the only German on this board ?). I'm male, 6'1" and dark-blonde. I'm working for the tax-office and that's really a bore, believe me !

I watched and liked Buffy from the beginning but I got really obsessed after watching Willow in Halloween (Season 2). When I saw Dopplegangland during a vacation one week later I got hooked for good and have been ever since....I really liked W/O but IMHO W/T is so much better - most likely due to the chemistry between Aly and Amber .....

BTW, I'm a regular poster over at the Hannigan.com (HDC) posting board - under the same nick as here.....xita and BBOvenGuy know me from there.....

Hm, what else.....I'm bidding for Alyson pictures and magazines at eBay on a regular basis....

....and last but not least: there are no nude pics of me on the net....what a relief ....

So much for the introduction....

BTW, is it ok to have little gif-pics in the sig ? I have them over at HDC and I would like to use them here, too....

see ya....

Ummmm, I guess it's well past time I introduced myself. I'm Thassa, 28, live near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I liked Buffy from the first partly for the wit, but mostly for the idea of a girl who kicked ***. I've read f/f slash fic for years, and have always watched shows for subtext (even before I knew the term), and Buffy was loaded with it at times (Buffy could have kept Faith from going to the Darkside if she hadn't been so wrapped up in Angel at the time).
I was just a lurker however, until Tara came along. I'd never really hoped for a maintext relationship that wasn't just peripheral filler til Hush.

Hello people. I'm Yen (female, 24) and I've posted a little bit already, but I'm guessing this is the polite thing to do. So...

I'm from Pennsylvania, but I live in Marietta, GA currently with Cylinda (my gf) who's mostly a shady lurker. She's the one who got me into watching Buffy because I would roll my eyes at her and the tv whenever the show was on. It wasn't until I caught a glimpse of Tara being so adorably shy during a rerun of 'Hush' that I began watching (with a zesty fervor, may I add).

I work and go to grad school and run a fan site on Michelle Marciniak, who plays in the WNBA. It's at http://www.geocities.com/yen_esq if anyone's interested. I'm about to help her finish up her official website too, so I'm really psyched about that.

I'm mostly into female singer-songwriters (Melissa Ferrick, Susan Werner, Dar Williams, etc.) but I have this really strange thing for the Backstreet Boys. That used to be a secret but I've come to grips that sharing this information greatly relieves my guilt. So I'm sharing...

Other than that, I am just a crazy fan of Amber Benson (and Gone With the Wind, but that's a story for another day). I'm ready to explode into a million pieces this Saturday in anticipation of a scantily clad Amber. (hubba hubba) I will also be exploding during and after the show, so Cylinda will have much cleaning to do this weekend. But it will be worth it...

And finally, I hope to become more acquainted with y'all as I get the gusto to post more.

Yen (Is the hose really helping anyone?)

Welcome to the board! Please be as liberal as you like with the use of the phrase "y'all" so I can feel at home in this place largely populated by evil, non-southern peoples. I'll overlook the fact that you're from Pennsylvania and consider you to be southern because that's just the way I am - a very forgiving soul.

southern, yankee, californian...then there are some of us who are just confused. both my parents are from texas, but i was born and raised in california. the confluence of cultures must have wreaked havoc on my speech patterns, because *no one* can place my "accent". on one particularly memorable day, one person asked if i was from england, someone else asked if i was from the bronx (?), and a third person complimented me on my english, which happens to be my native language.

my spanish accent, however, seems to be from "some undetermined part of latin america". i hear mexico, puerto rico and argentina most often. never mind the fact that i don't look latina in the slightest. my irish and german roots have left me with blue eyes and a skin tone that can best be described as "glow in the dark".

Never post a message, esp an intro message, 4 hours after you should have gone to bed.

I used to call all Americans Yankees until I met a southerner (at a family reunion) who objected (actually she got really pissed at me). Never realized til then how much a label meant (I think I was 12 at the time).

I'm an anime fan in general (Utena!) and am embarrased that the company translating Sailor Moon to English is attempting to use the CRTC (like the FCC) code to justify cutting Haruka and Michuru's (sp?) relationship from a couple to cousins. This is even after the CRTC said that nothing in the code barred it. Apparently the main reason they aren't going to try for the last season of Sailor Moon is that if they gave it a similar treatment they would wind up with about 3 eps that didn't make any sense.

Ok, back on topic, my favourite characters are Willow, Tara, Faith, Cordelia, and Spike in pretty much that order. I'm Bi, single and have a tendancy go all over the place in conversation (or messages for that matter). I'll cut this one short since I've forgotten what I originally wanted to say.

OK, I'm here, as ordered by my friend judy. Ummm...I live in Dallas. Boring life, boring job. Been a BtVS fan since 1/2 way through the 2nd season. I had Kendall issues, so it took me a while to come around. *g*

I've been a semi-regular poster at the Bronze for a couple of years, but slacked off quite a bit after the W/T fallout last spring. I've posted at a few other boards, but not really regularly. It was refreshing to stumble upon this board. Everyone seems really cool, and hey, it's all about W/T.

The last few days, I've been amusing myself by reading the posts on the AMC board at abc.go.com. For a laugh, go there and check out my "God Says" thread. I stole the idea from Aaron Sorkin and TWW. *g*

to all! Hope to talk to y'all soon!

Michelle No welcome wagon greeting for you, must be because you made the fatal error of saying you were my friend.

Just kidding.

WELCOME!!!! This is a fun and crazy place. Best of all, there are no idiots.

True, Judy, I don't think there are any idiots here, but I certainly do have the capacity to make some idiotic posts. Fortunately, this board is peopled by some really nice folx who, for the most part, don't mock my idiotic posts.

Let me also say hi and welcome to new board members. There's doughnuts and coffee in the corner, so help yourself.

judy posted 11-02-2000 12:39 EST (US)
Darin -- Ah, idiotic posts. I am full of those. This season, especially, I don't think I have produced a single deep thought about the show. I seem to be in a mode of mindless consumerism. It's a shame, because there have been interesting things worthy of analysis. I just sit back and have fun watching all of you dissect and analyze.

Anyway, I don't think I've properly introduced myself on this thread. So since I made Michelle do it, I feel it is my obligation to partake as well.

I am 28. I live in NYC (shout out to all my fellow NYC boys and girls). I do program planning and proposal writing at a settlement house and I am trying to finish my novel which I abandoned for awhile when I worked as an advocate for battered women and their children and then as the Children's Program Coordinator at a community-based domestic violence agency. The work was tremendously satisfying, engaging, challenging and rewarding, but I had no energy left for my writing and so I left.

I like watching BUFFY (duh) and surfing the internet (duh). I also like reading, going to the movies, having good conversation, food, and drinks with my absolutely wonderful friends, going to friendly lesbian bars in Brooklyn (which is not where I live), and being the silly dork that I am with the people I love.

God, these sort of talk about yourself posts just sound cheesy no matter what, huh?

I am also unfailingly neurotic.

I came to this board because of xita and Zelda who helped deprive me of hours of sleep at chat in the spring. I used to read and post (some) at the WillTara email list. Then the chat moved to its current yahoo home. Night after night I would be at the WillTara chat until the birds started chirping and my contact lenses had shrivelled into a dry crinkly piece of plastic in my eyes. I haven't been a presence there much at all for the past few months, but I was (and am) delighted when they started this board. It's been fun to see this community develop and flourish, especially since I used to post quite a bit at the Bronze until it burst into homophobic and squabbly bickery flames. I love reading your intelligent, thoughtful, provocative, and passionate posts and am glad I've gotten to meet so many interesting people through the W/T story. And I have to add that it's been a very connecting, empowering, and occasionally arousing experience to be in the presence of so many fine lesbian hands pounding on the keyboard.

Oh my! Finally got around to posting on this thread. Don't really know what to say so i guess i'll just ramble a bit

• I'm 23 and almost have my MD (only a year and a half to go)
• I am a movie buff, love TV and spend countless hours on the net, enjoy reading literature and a am a bit of an artist.(how i find time to do all this is still an unexplained mstery)
•My lungs are filled by smoke, pollutants and other toxic fumes that will eventually kill me (unless my job does it first)!
•My stress level can be compared to a frayed rope being used to lower a grand piano off the side of a ten-storey building
•My idea of exercise is standing up to change the channels instead of using the remote control
• Oh and NO, I do not..I repeat I DO NOT Suffer from INSANITY...I ENJOY every minute of it...hee hee.

Anyway, i stumbled on this board while loking for a buffy website with some semblance of intelligent conversation (thank god i found it!)

I must say I'm enjoying my stay here alot!

Considering the fact that I *hope* to frequent this board, well, frequently, maybe I should intro myself.

My name's Rina, I'm 19, speech path major at U of IL. I got hooked on Buffy at Christmas of the third season - I went to WA to visit my online best friend, and she sat me through all of third season that had aired, plus some of 2nd. It worked, and I fast became an addicted addict. (If you got that last allusion, e-mail me. )

Will's my favorite character, and always has been, probably because I IDed with her so much. (I, too, had a Xander. Only, his name isn't Xander.) I can't think of any 'shipper relationship I *don't* like Willow in, but Tara is currently my favorite.

Anyway, I'm going to try and stay active here, because I think you all seem like cool people. I just have problems remembering to check things that don't automatically come into my mailbox. LOL Off to play with smilies!

I don't know if there's other frenchies on this board ? We have seen the end of Season 4
two weeks ago and probably won't see Season 5 before mid 2001. sigh...
But since I am a spoiler-addict, a big THANKS to everyone for the spoilers, the screencaps, etc...

Er..what else...I graduated from college 3 years ago -Performing Arts Major..

That went so damn well that I'm now a web developer *l*. but hey..ya never know..watch this space...you may take breaks..you may be watching a fair long while...

Present location: London, UK

First sighting of BTVS: First episode of season 1...then had to wait ages for UK television to catch up...grrrr....aaanyway
where was I ? oh yeah...love of series turned to obsession by the end of Series 2 - not a good thing for my cash flow I'll have you know.

Favorite episode so far: "Passion" those words still get to me .... followed by "Hush".

Favorite character: I can never really answer that.

Well..now that you are all sleeping...I'll end my "me" bit.

I'm new here, and was thinking of posting an intro on myself, so here's the perfect opportunity!

My name is Caitlin, I'm 19 and I study historic preservation at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. I was born in Seattle, WA, but lived in Charlottesville, VA for most of my life.

I heard about this board on the alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer newsgroup. I am SUCH a happy camper to be here! I simply adore Willow and Tara, and see a lot of myself in both of them. Seeing their relationship has really helped me branch out and realize that I would love to have a relationship with another woman. No luck yet, but here's hoping!

I started watching Buffy only in the middle of last season, and was turned on to the show by my best friend. Since then, I have become TOTALLY obsessed with the show, and am a Joss worshipper.

I'm bad at thinking of things to say in these introductory type things, so I'll just say that I'm really happy to be here, and even if I don't have anything useful to add, I'll enjoy reading everyone else's comments.

And you're in Fredericksburg - that's cool. I have an ancestor who was in the Union Army during the Civil War, and Fredericksburg was one of the battles he was in. I visited the battlefield once and looked up where his unit was stationed. They were in the rear, guarding the pontoon bridges, which probably explains how he survived.

Yep, I found it... and I LOVE it! I like Fredericksburg, but I live off campus, which in the last week has become a HUGE hassle - I totalled my car last Monday, so now to get to class I have to ride the bus or walk, which means I have to get off my lazy butt and expend energy. Ugh. Oh, and in the process of totalling my car (1987 Chevy Nova named Nellie), I totalled 2 other cars and damaged a fourth. When I do something, I do it RIGHT.

I forgot to mention before - I have an all-black cat named Twilight, and live alone, though Twi sometimes stays with me for a few weeks at a time. I refused to return to school unless I got to live alone, and the school wouldn't grant me a single dorm room, so I moved off campus. Bastards.

Ok, so this post has nothing to do with anything that anyone cares about, but oh well! I tend to be only semi-coherent (due to too much sleep!). Um, yeah. Ok. I think that's all I wanted to say. Oh, but BIG THANKS to BB up there for telling me about this board!!!! I will forever be in debt.

Hi!! Yep, Mary Washington has one of the very few historic preservation undergrad programs in the country. I think there are only 6 or so. Also, MWC was one of the pioneers of historic preservation as an academic study, so it's a good school for the field. I actually hope to do graduate work overseas, but that depends on how much money I (don't) have. How is the Georgia State grad program? It's so cool there's another HP person here! Greetings, all . . . name here's november (or I should say nom de guerre, I guess . . .) I've been lurking here for a while, and I've been a BTVS fan since the first season . . . I've always been drawn to the Gothic/Romantic, and this show not only hits the spot in that department, it just gets better with time. it really is briliant on so many levels. Professionally I'm a teacher, writer, in the southern USA (can y'all hear the Southern accent?) . . . personally just someone who tries to treat every moment in life as mystical and extraordinary. As for BTVS, while I like most of the gang (even Riley, usually, though not as much lately) I'm passionately fond of Tara, since she reminds me SO VERY much of myself at that age (and maybe now too). . . a good person, a shy person, a person who means no harm and yet feels awkward and has trouble fitting in--believe me, I can relate! I think that Joss and Amber between them have created a wonderful and sympathetic character, and that they're poised to do great things with her. Well . . . that's all for now!

hey...well, let see where do I start? these introduction threads make me a little ansty. Ok, I'm 19, and I'm from Florida, whiich is cool. I'm blessed with things like 80 degree days in November, hurricanes, and your run-of-the-mill cases of electoral fraud....I'm a film/english major at Florida State. I'm a huge fan of the show and a huge Willow fan. I'm excited to have found this server, cuz everybody around here HATES willow and tara. Well, they hate tara mostly, and they hate the fact that willow is with her. They wish terrible, terrible things to befall her (tara that is)...So, I guess you could say i've been a closet (pardon the pun) willow/tara shipper, and i'm glad to have found his board. Oh well...hope you'll all have me...

willow and tara are cool...when I see them I think its ok to have doubts about my sexuality, but then, well then I remember that I come from a very strict, traditional spanish catholic family. And I know my family would never, ever speak to me again. I know that shouldn't matter, but I can't help but let their hatred affect me. Oh well.."family" really put it into prespective with the whole "demon" allegory, but in the end, she does lose her family and its just a tv show. this is real life..it would have been much, much worse for me...for one thing my friends wouldn't have backed me up like that..and my mom, well, lets just say she wouldn't have "threatened" to beat me up...(sighs) decisions, decisions...why does life always have to be so complicated...ok..enough with this incredibly long intro...I guess I just wanted to vent

I live on the north side of Chicago with my partner and our dog Katchoo (yes, named for Strangers in Paradise) in an area that is oh-so-slowly being gentrified (and this is a very good thing). I just turned 30, but am convincing myself that I am still 28. I have watched BTVS since day one and am constantly surprised at just how good a show it really is. The W/T relationship is just incredible to watch. Hush is by far my fav ep (and it really should have won the Emmy. They wuz robbed!!! Robbed!!)

I have worked as a prosecutor, a college admissions counselor, a theatre director, an actor, and most recently, a software consultant – all that changed about 2 weeks ago when the universe sent a big WAKE UP call in the form of some idiot with an AK-47 and 3 pipe bombs in the hotel room next to mine. Um, I took that as a sign that life is waaaaaay to short to do things you don’t love, so I am in the process of “transitioning” to a career in television and/or film. I am a Warner Brothers junkie (if it is on the WB, I watch it ) and my dream job would be writing for Grosse Pointe.

When I am not surfing the web, watching television (I ADORE television) or listening to top 40 (my guilty pleasure), I love to go to the lake (a block from the house) and read (except in winter, obviously). On the phone people think that I am a blonde (go figure), but I have been told I look like a cross between Whoopi Goldberg and a muppet (again, go figure!)

Stella spoke so highly of this place, I figured I had to check it out. So far, I’m loving it!

So much so that my old roommate and I use to have dinner parties @ our house on Tuesdays just for buffy(the best had to be "A buffy Christmas" when we made a 4 course turkey dinner..
I now sort of have a personal interest in watching buffy because of the Willow/Tara dynamic. I've been out for 3 years and it's refreshing to have your "lifestyle" be depicted in a very real and stereotype free way.. So, I give complete props to Joss for his handling of it.

I first discovered a lot you lovely folks over at the WillTara list in March or April and used to chat every now and then with the group as "chantgirl". For the past number of months I took a break from "human" life and have been living and continuing my studies in an ashram up in the mountains of Oregon.

I'm back to "real life" and am happy to hook up again with such a wonderful group of folks. I love the Willow-Tara relationship and admire how Joss has so sweetly progressed it. I hope to see more such realistically and beautifully done same-sex relationships on TV because of this ground-breaking portrayal. And the thoughtfulness and insight of the posts on this board are incredible! I love it! (and the smilies are a kick!)

Hi there,

Belated doing the introduction thing.

Love this board -- its format (none of that annoying one-frame-per-message!), its vibrant list of topics, and of course, it has the best frequenters . Thank you to Xita and Zelda for maintaining etc.!

I was a Xena-Gabrielle subtexter until that show went seriously downhill in S5 (1999-2000 season), although it's made a slight improvement this season. But the thing was, for XWP, it was almost always *sub*text; almost always deniable by reasonable viewers who saw *only* a strong friendship.

One of the things that I find wonderful about the lovely Willow-Tara rel'ship is that it is MAINtext. Finally. And god, so beautifully. And in a way which isn't, as Joss says, "a very special Buffy", but simply is presented as on a par with other rel'ships (e.g. WTWTA) and Buffic plotlines (e.g. mystery surrounding Tara a la any mystery surrounding a character, like Dawn).

OK, but you'all know this already. I'll stop!

Greetings.

Edited to add some personal info after reading some of the other posts!

I live in Pittsburgh, currently teaching at Pitt (linguistics). I was originally studying in Buffalo, there for 6 years. Prior to that, I was in Australia, which is where I'm from originally. Still get homesick occasionally (and when it hits, it hits), but really like life in the northern hemisphere! Love the seasons -- the falls were breathtaking in upstate New York, and its been pretty impressive in Pittsburgh as well. Love a lot of other things (cable tv! BtVS *not* 6 months behind!), but too many to list here. Have a feeling I'll be in the US long-term if work permits ...

Yeah I think TV3 programmers are actually brain dead. They don't have a clue as to how these 2 shows interact on occasion. We may never get to see Angel. And what's up with them showing Buffy at 11pm and then they pre-empting it every other week. Next week Cricket (first test) replaces Buffy. TV3 need to re-examine their priorities.

Willow has always been my favourite character and when i heard she was going to get a gf in season 4 I almost slid of my seat with happiness. How nice it is to have such a great couple on TV to relate to.

She was always my favourite until Tara showed up. They are truly the best and most romantic couple on TV (in any country).

Kiwiccan - selfish, nasty, mean, stupid, ugly (probably) TV3 exec's!
I have to admit that I kind of like buffy being on so late coz I am a total night owl and get to watch it uninterrupted by the constantly ringing phone etc, but I have protested on principle for other fans who cant stay up. And canceling it every other week, I have read in my bible (TV guide) that this is due to happen several more times!
And as for the buffy/angel crossover debacle, is it just me or does this seem like an infringment of my basic human rights! My fury knows no bounds.....
Reading?..lots of different stuff, heaps of fantasy books (the dragons and sorcery kind, not the other), mystery, contemporary lit, anything fictional, except never ever romances or Jackie Collins ilk.
I also love Stargate and x-files (kind of)
Feel free to vent anytime
Take care, Shannon

Thank you Xita for all those smilies, now I just have to introduce myself.

A ladyfriend of mine thinks I look like Garfield (the big fat red cat, and believe it or not, she meant it as a compliment). Of course I'm not red fat or a cat, but I like his attitude and his hobbies (eating, sleeping) so I decided to use his name, for now just on the internet, but I'm seriously considering making it official.
I'm 29 years old and a medical doctor. I've worked in the ER (a small one, no fireworks there except during the millennium) and I'm currently working in cardiology. And because of the long shifts I've tons of free time to devote to my other hobbies: Willow and Tara and everything related to them.

That's how I came to be here. I've only discovered this site a week ago, but I've been here every day since then. I'll probably blow one of my coronaries when I get my next phone bill (I'm a bit of a Scrooge sometimes, by the way: did I mention I am Dutch?). But this site is worth every penny and then some, it's so great to know there are so many others out there who love W/T as much as I do.

Anyway, I'm also -and always will be- a huge Kira/Odo fan (I assume y'all know who they are). They too have a beautiful relationship, one that gradually developed from true friendship into true love (blah, blah), only it took them six years to get where Willow and Tara got in six weeks (thank god). As much as I care for K/O, Willow and Tara mean so much more to me and I can't explain why, then again I don't have to right?

Greetings to you all,

Dr.G

PS: I realize I forgot to mention the tiny fact that I'm a F to M transsexual, currently starting with the hormone treatment. Anybody freaked out there? I suppose not many of YOU, but I am. I wasn't kidding when I wrote elsewhere that I have an 'I want to be normal fetish', wahahaha…, the gods have a cruel sense of humor, putting me together like this. But I don't feel sorry for myself, I have no right to, still too many good things in this life.
But I haven't told anybody I know about this except my doctors, the above mentioned friend and another and as of now a couple of who knows how many total strangers. So you see, I can understand perfectly well why Tara didn't tell Willow about her secret. It's terrifying just facing the possibility of losing the ones you love because of what you are.

I know what I'm doing isn't very bright to say the least. People will probably begin to wonder when I start changing into the bearded lady. I'm a bloody doctor (figuratively speaking of course, at least most of the time), I should know better. And I guess I do, I just CANNOT get over my fears, boohoo….

Well my hope is that because of Willow and Tara others will be able to (overcome their fears that is), and from what I've read that has already happened. A big thankee very much to the afore mentioned ladies and to the people on this board.

O and while I'm on a roll I might as well confess: I love Pride and Prejudice, ABBA and I play chess really well.

Shutting up now. I'll go back to reading the board and get my W/T fix for the day.

dr. g, no freakage here. one of my best friends is an FTM, and when he first started T, i gave him his shots...it was kinda fun, actually. how long have you been on T? voice changing yet? it's a very interesting, amazing, and at times disconcerting process to go through.

if you ever want to talk with someone over email about any of this, feel free to drop me a line: cyber_apple@hotmail.com. i can also put you in touch with my above-mentioned friend zoe if you're interested. i don't know much about the netherlands, but there is a very strong and tight-knit trans/FTM community here in the states, and i'd be happy to let you know about some resources if you haven't discovered them already.

it was very brave for you to come out to the board like that - i admire your courage!

The other eventual ones are for my bad english ... ) I live in Rio de Janeiro , and I know some wiccas - this is a great city for wicca religion, we have the biggest urban forrest in the world - though I'm not one myself. I'm an student, 25, and a newbie in this "Buffy" world, wich I begun to pay attention for the Tara - Willow affair, I admit. And now I became an addicted, i admit !!!

Hey Welcome Hopey!
It's very cool that you are from Brasil. It's my dream to go there someday. One of my best friends is from Brasil and we found that if she spoke Portugese and I spoke Spanish (slowly) we could communicate pretty easily. Though, I don't know why we did that since we can both speak English. And yes I do have a movie site and I do have a big banner for the board there

Dr. G I am sure we are likely to be more open minded here than in other places. I am happy you have the courage to be open. I think I had a misconception about your country. I would have guessed it would have been more accepting. And yes W/T are something special to us all. Ahhh.. and yes, yes, yes another ABBA fan! Who cares! I mean that in the nicest possible way of course and that no-one will judge you harshly because of anything like that.
It is very brave of you to open up to us about this. I can assure you that here you will be surrounded by supportive people, many of whom have similar (kind of) coming out stories of their own.
I am somewhere near the back of the intro thread if you want to know more about me. Pretty boring tho'. I have no shocking secrets like your aforementioned affection for ABBA!

PS you get that the who cares thing is meant to be me being nice, I hope, and not making light of any problems you are having

Dr G - I have read The Wheel of Time series 1-7 which is all that is available here right now and LOVED it, but this series has made me vow to never start another series until I have confirmed that every last one has been written and is available to me. I cant stand being left with a cliffhanger and having to wait a year or two for the next instalment. Especially this series with so many characters to keep track of!
I made an exception for the Otherland series by Tad Williams which has a detailed synopsis at the start of each book - really great books.
I have read dozens of fantasy books and have never been disapointed. My favourite writers are David Eddings and Katherine Kerr.
I am just such a hopeless book-geek. The bronze shelter geezer brigade has a book thread at the moment with heaps of people recommending good reads.
I have to stop babbling now before everyone elso dies of boredom, but ya just had to PS me didnt ya!

shazza: I have to love you now - David Eddings is my literary God!

Hmm...can't remember if I've made an introduction here yet, so what the hey, I'll do it again.

*ahem*

Hi, I'm Beautiful Tara's Girl. You might remember me from such message boards as The Bronze and The Essence Of Amber. My real name is Dayna, I'm pushing the ripe old age of 21, and I live in a sprawling western suburb of Chicago. (Near Aurora...which looks NOTHING like the Aurora, IL in "Wayne's World." Trust me.)

I'm only BTG on the Buffy message boards. Pretty much everywhere else, I'm known as Queen Anthai - and I have postings allll over the place under THAT screenname. So if you recognize me, that's why.

I have my own website up at http://members.nbci.com/queenanthai - it's not really fancy, but it's nifty...check it out.

I've been writing my novel, 7 STARS, for the past five years...it's now done and will be up on the website SUNDAY AT THE LATEST!! I'm so excited...now I need an agent so I can get the puppy published. (Del Rey won't accept unsolicited manuscripts...phooey.) It's a fantasy novel geared towards those people who think they're too old for Harry Potter but too young for Terry Brooks. I guess you could call it YA Fantasy (as opposed to YA horror...R.L. Stine, Christopher Pike and the like). I'm already at work on a sequel.

I also play guitar in a passing fair kind of way - Courtney Love is my main influence (pick on me IF YOU DARE), and I also like a bunch of local bands...my friend Jay is in a glam-rock band called the Alien Banshees, and I also designed that website ( http://members.nbci.com/everlorn ) if you want to look. I played guitar on a track on their last CD, and hopefully I'll get to do more on the next one!

I love bad movies. I'm way into MST3K. I even own a copy of "Plan 9 From Outer Space," but the only film that's ever done me in ("Fine, Pearl, take the world, but NO MORE!!") was "Batman & Robin." It was terrible. The scars are still fading.

I got heavily into Buffy during Season 3, at the introduction of Faith. (rrrrooowwwlll...) I'd watched the movie, the series premiere, and other episodes on and off the first two seasons...but Faith was so hot and so cool that I started religiously taping every episode. I have nearly all of 3-5. My friends think I'm nuts. I loved the whole Faith arc in Season Three and got to be a spoiler ho after "Consequences." I always loved Willow though, because she reminded me of me...painfully shy and not too cool, but found confidence with her friends at long last. She's really blossomed as a character, and I cried SO HARD when Oz left her. But then I saw "Hush," and...well...Oz who?

I loved the chemistry between Tara and Willow from the beginning. Amber is beautiful and Tara is sweet and loving and everything Willow needed. I love how Willow falls in love...it's always so dreamy and perfect. I mean, sure, werewolf, but that wasn't HIS fault. It's great to see someone who treats Willow decently. Lord knows Buffy's taste in significant others is wretched - and do I need to get into Xander?

I love Faith, Willow, Spike, Tara and Xander (Oz when he was around) and loathe beyond all comprehension Riley and Anya. And I think Glory is cool, so sue me.

I love, love, LOVE what they're doing with Darla on "Angel," incidentally. Can't wait for next week!!

Okay, I’ll give it a go. How do I identify? Well… my soul, my politics, my body are molded by an Appalachian mountain upbringing and the times in which I grew up and have lived. JFK aimed his War on Poverty at my people, enabling me to get scholarships that helped put me through college (Virginia Tech). My parents, who never had the privilege of even going to high school, gave me the love and drive to succeed farther than most women I know and way beyond any female on either side of the family. My father was 20 years older than my mom, very domineering, and strict. I’ve an older brother. Family was very important, and they lived all around.

I’m 48, a Leo teetering on the Virgo fence, blue-eyed, 5’4”, deliberately blonde. My ancestry is a typical Appalachian mongrel mix of English and Scotch-Irish paternally, and Dutch, Native American (I’m 1/8), and Scotch-Irish maternally. My father, his brothers, and both my grandfathers were brawling coal miners. My grandmothers were strong and mean. My mother is passive and feminine, and has visions that sometimes come true. She feeds wild and domestic animals, and won’t even kill a spider. I was raised a Southern Baptist, but now worship Nature and the true spirituality of many other religions. My childhood nightmares found Dracula chasing me and the devil trying to pull me through a hole in the ground into flames.

I’ve worked for 18 years in technical communications in the engineering department of a major industrial drive company. I’ve a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in English, community college certification in computer hardware technology, and countless other classes in electricity, electronics, power conversion, technical writing, computers, etc. For fun, I plant flowers, collect lesbian movies and tv shows, watch Buffy, Voyager, Xena, Dark Angel. I love women’s basketball and most women’s sports.

I’ve always been a lesbian, even when I didn’t know what that was. After college, I ran off to Boston to live in a thriving and political lesbian community for five years. I go to Pride marches and events, and try to spend my money and time according to my political and spiritual beliefs. I despise the Republican Party!

I moved back to Virginia to be near family after my father died. I own a home and live with my girlfriend of nearly six years, our four cats, and one Cairn Terrier. My gf is 21 yrs. younger than I am, but we connect perfectly in so many ways. We met via the internet on a Forever Knight fandom list – really, my only intention was to say “hey” when I noticed that she was at a college nearby!

Okay, onto why I’m here. I’ve been a Buffy fan since the end of season 2 because it was unique, creative, well written, and fun. It had strong female characters. However, Tara is the one who really hooked me! I then found the W/T list and later the Kitten Board by reading Xita’s posts. And here I am, a W/T devotee writing my bio for you.

I love Buffy The Vampire Slayer, everything about the show. Except Riley the boring/annoying! No offense to Mark, but Riley is a boring and uninteresting character, IMHO!

Hey Eowyn and Susan and Hamblin and Trickster. Hamblin, I am starting to believe you really do know Trickster. Trickster, I am with you on the non-enjoyable aspects of BTVS. Susan, a fire marshall, that's so cool? I'll take second dibs Spring. Finally Eowyn, I do hope you can watch the new eps soon there in the UK.

Welcome All!

Hey again Spring, Xita, et al...
Thanks for the nice welcome.

For anyone interested, me and the rest of the kids in the fire marshal's office do public education presentations re: general fire safety, use of fire extinguishers and the like. We install smoke detectors for little old ladies. We also do fire/life safety inspections of businesses. And finally, my favorite, fire and arson investigation. We've had a serial arsonist in my jurisdiction for a while, so we've been really busy in this area.

Oh, and did I mention the uniform...
(Well my g/f likes it anyway.)

Cheers,

suz

Yes xita we really do know each other. Well not in real life, but we chat all the time and post on alot of the same boards.

Anyway he's a really funny guy and I consider him a good friend even if we have never meet.

Thanks for the welcome. I really do like it here.

BTW - Hamblin has been known to act crazy (in a funny kind of way) so don't worry if he starts acting funny, it's perfectly normal for him.

Hi, I’m Illya. I thank you so much for having me. I am honored but a bit surprised at my path here. I am a 45-year-old screen printer and electrician from Alabama. I came to Buffy through a friend who was obsessed from the beginning. About a year after the series began I was over at his house and saw the various Buffy paraphernalia lying about. I inquired and was taken aback by his enthusiastic response. I had seen the movie and was singularly unimpressed. So he related Joss’ story to me and begged me to observe the television creation. The first few episodes were okay (He has them all on tape of course) but I was SO stricken by Allyson Hannigan that it would not have mattered. Naturally I had to see them all. The delightful tapestry that unfolded is one I would not now have missed. I was cruising merrily along, though a bit disappointed that such a crude love interest had been appointed to Willow. My friend then led me blindly into a delightful alley. It was ‘Hush’ night. He bragged of the horrors of the Gentlemen. No mention was made of the Beautiful One. (Okay, he is a big Faith fan, so you can understand). And there, at that Wicca meeting, I felt my jaw go slack. When she stuttered I caught a gasping breath. I was sure she would be killed. But what a finish. And then (insert chill bumps) ‘New Moon Rising!’ Not since ‘A Happy Life’ from Beauty and the Beast have I seen such an ending. But I must insert this small bit about me. Being raised in the south with roots in the Midwest I have not always had the comfort level with same sex relations as one might expect of the W/T set. And this is the source of my eye opening surprise. There is (as Father used to say) “a truth beyond knowledge.” And so there is. Pure innocent love as displayed by Tara is as true as light. So I have been eagerly awaiting the W/T Show as I call it now and HOPE they don’t screw with Tara’s personality too much. But you know whatever; Amber can probably pull it off.
Now as to the board, THANKS! It’s the best W/T outlet on the Net. I have been searching. I just want to say to Xita and Zelda I appreciate the effort you guys put into this. I am proud to be invited.

Thank you so much -Illya

Another B&tB fan, yeah. You're a fan right? I mean you're quoting Father. A happy life was my fav ep believe it or not. Well that show ended on a rather bad note, killing off beauty and all.

Fortunately we've got BtVS and more specifically Willow and Tara, that's what brought everyone here in the first place. And a fine place it is. Well, all I wanted to say was welcome, so:

hey illya2,

welcome to the board. i'm also a newbie myself as i just joined last month. this board is heaven. everything you've always wanted to discuss about Willow and Tara, BtVS and/or Off Topic discussions. i didn't realize there was a board like this until ScifiAcid told me... so thanks dRi! i owe u one! and of course... to Xita and Zelda... job well done! u guys rock!

btw, i loved B&B way back too. however, it wasn't really interesting anymore when Catherine kicked the bucket. i loved the poem tho' by e.e. cummings...esp. when Vincent read this in the soundtrack.. now whenever i read this i think about Willow and Tara and just go ahhhhhhhh and awwwwww and feel warm and fuzzy inside:

"somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens (touching skillfully, mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals the power of your intense fragility:whose texture compels me with the colour of its countries, rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what is is about you that closes and opens; only something in me understands the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands..."

now isn't that just the sweetest?! just imagine Willow telling this to Tara or vice versa?

peace!

Sorry its taken a bit for me to introduce myself...

What to say? Well, I live in Los Angeles but was born in San Francisco (lived in Redwood City for a decade until July'99) and raised in Pensacola Florida. I have a degree in Theatre Arts, attended the National Shakespeare Conservatory in NYC, and was once on "Saturday Night Live."

I'm a Sagitarius, born in the Year of the Boar (make of that what you will). Among my other interests (like history and bellydancing) are...Vampires. My collection of vampire films has over one hundred titles.

At first, I only barely enjoyed BTVS because of their concept of vampires. However, like B5, by the end of Season One I was hooked. Tara and Willow are my favorite couple on the show (naturally), although Anya and Xander have their own wacky charm. Before them I simply loved Spike and Drusilla (bless her psychotic heart).

Being an Archer, of course, I have little tact but plenty of goodwill. This board has been a godsend--thanks to you all!

Oh, and I have a website I like to plug: http://vampires.freehosting.net/

Just so you'll know, some of my favorite novelists are Stephen Donaldson, Tanith Lee, David Brin, Anne Rice and Orson Scott Card. Some of my fave shows are/have been The Prisoner, Babylon 5, That 70s Show, Ally McBeal, La Femme Nikita, Forever Knight, Dark Shadows, Friends and As Time Goes By.

Clearly, I need a life.

Spike is def not right for her. I just love seeing Spike all mushy for buffy. What a hoot. Now that's...love? Somebody help me out here. He wouldn't kill her if he could, right? He'd die for her if she ask, am I right? And she would so kick the crap out of him. This is so weird. If they show him pulling out that picture he stole and pining over her I swear I'll shed a tear. I'm finishing off that series with my current fic. It's fun to write, but I want to change to doing a couple of standalone stories and write them much slower. I really need to do a lot of work on some areas of my writing.

Zahir! Another Forever Knight fan! Wow, I seldom run across them in other fandoms, although I really don't associate with others anymore beside BtVS. (I lost it for Xena last season.) FK fandom is how I met my SO!

I was a faithful Ravenette, hooked into FK by Jeanette. I attended an incredible FK con in Boston during Season 2 -- Deborah Duchene and Nigel Bennett were there. It was one of those small cons where you got to be up close and personal with the stars. In fact, I was fortunate enough to ride in the elevator alone with DD (you know, right place at the right time). I nearly died when she touched my arm to check out my (fake) rose tatoo!

Btw, DD is incredibly beautiful, charming, and very intelligent in person! Nigel reeks of charisma -- when he enters a room, you can feel it!

I attended another con in New Orleans because DD and Nigel were there. Unfortunately, it was bigger. DD had to play second fiddle to another guest -- the guy who was the first Captain on Babylon 5 (can't remember his name). He was such a pig, making offensive sexual comments to the women. He actually asked one fan to take off her clothes when she stood to ask a question. I was into B5, but he totally turned me off to any ep he was in!

I hated the final FK season, except for a couple of eps. USA destroyed it! Anyway, sorry for rambling so OT. It's just that I had flashbacks when you mentioned FK. Again, it's good to meet ya.

Greeting fellow prisoners!

My name is Kate. I’m a Filipina-American, 31-year old.…at least until next September 1st. Hello fellow anal-retentive, obsessive and extremely sweet Virgos!

As I mentioned on the “Greatest of Gifts” thread, I live in NYC with my love to end all loves , Jill (known as JRS to some of you). Together over four years and counting! Actually, we live in very Southern Westchester County (the first county north of NYC), but I grew up and lived in the DA BOOGIE-DOWN BRONX for almost 23 years – so I definitely still consider myself a NYC-girl.

By day, I am a CPA.....please no tax questions!!! I was an auditor. And please no accountant jokes…heard them all. Since April of this year, I made the HUGE leap to private industry and I am currently the Accounting Manager for a dot-com (a financial portal/site). As for school, I survived 12 years of Catholic School and went onto Boston University, earning, in 1991, a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting. I have pings of going back to school…if this dot-com takes off, I would like to earn a psych degree; if the dot-com tanks, I may attempt to earn a MBA.

Outside of the work hours, I have many interests: Theatre (esp. musical theatre – my faves are RENT [saw the Original B’way cast over 20 times], Les Mis, Falsettos, Six Degrees of Separation, Lily Tomlin’s Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe), Sports (esp. basketball – I love the Knicks [just the Knicks] and watch all the WNBA teams but my wounded fan heart belongs to the NY LIBERTY! and I also love Tennis), Casino gambling (love blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker and Let it Ride), Music (mostly a 80’s New Wave fan before it was dubbed progressive or alternative music – The Smiths, the Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Howard Jones, geez…way too many to mention…. I'm also very much into the "chick music": OLD indigo girls, ani, Sarah, Melissa, etc. I’m proud and embarrassed to add that I have over 800 CDs)……

And oh yeah TV….lots and lots of TV….especially the “10pm” dramas…it all started with Cagney & Lacey and Remington Steele…..OK fine, fine, I’ll admit that I had a former thing for Pierce Brosnan! I, too, have been following lesbians on TV. I think my first recollection of seeing dykes on TV was the 1986 ABC made-for-TV movie, My Two Loves, staring Lynn Redgrave and Mariette Hartley. Next was probably the CBS comedy, Kate & Allie (uh? What? Jill just informed me that they were not a couple….oh shattered dreams. At least I know that the Easter Bunny is still real!). As far as other dykes on the BOOB-tube, how many of you remember the wonderful lesbian episode of Northern Exposure?

Anyway, currently my fave weekly TV shows are West Wing, Law & Order, Will & Grace and ER (go, Kerry, GO, KERRY). I’ve been a fan of these shows from their respective premiere episode. As for Buffy, I must admit I did not start watching until w/t appeared. Being even more honest, as a then-late 20-something-year old at the time of Buffy’s premiere, I thought BTVS was just another teeny-bopper show……I’m a silly rabbit! The show is very mature and very well written – except for that whole Initiative brouhaha. Unfortunately, since I do not have roots in the early eps, I do not watch Angel (except for the crossover episodes). In addition to w/t & Buffy, I love Giles, Spike (he’s just so cute) and Faith (she’s just hot).

I think I have probably rambled too much….for this, I apologize.

Thank you again to all for creating and maintaining such a wonderful open, loving forum.

But before I go, thank you for those who wished me a happy birthday on this board, back in September.

Now time to read the intros on the previous 19 pages.

Cyber Hugs & Kisses,
Peace, Love and Understanding,

OK, so i guess i'll take a stab at this...

i grew up in san antonio, tx (usa) but now reside in houston, tx. i have a degree in mechanical engineering, but am working more as a project manager for a natural gas pipeline company (of course, since there's pretty much nothing else to do in houston, darnit). anyway, i am in the middle of a bit of a dilemma as to my future career plans. i think i am way too liberal and way too cool to be doing what i do (that attests more to the absolute lameness of the people i work with than to my coolness, really...but i AM cool, hee hee).

i am a super pop culture junky and i think that music is the reason to live. i do the work i do because it gives me the money to do what i REALLY want to do in my private life, which is perform music and (try to) make digital movies. all of this is rather amateurish, mind you...but i'm not looking to be a superstar, it just makes me happy.

two friends of mine have always loved Buffy, and everytime i used to watch it, i enjoyed it. but i always kinda wanted willow to like girls. so when the season 4 stuff started happening, i was overjoyed, and have been hopelessly obsessed since. but i like the show not only for W/T...i have grown to love the writing and all the characters (anya is a current fav).

Hi Kate. It's great to meet another WNBA fan! (I got digital cable this past year, just for the WNBA package. My local NBC station won't carry the games because they "may" run into their 6 o'clock news hour -- or so they say.) Anyway, my regional loyalty has to lie with the Washington Mystics and Charlotte Sting, of course, since they are closest to here.

However, I am a huge NY Liberty fan because of Teresa Weatherspoon. Her arms, omigod! Did you see her take her shirt off after winning the Eastern Region? What a bod! I thought I'd fall outta my chair, and had to re-watch in slo-mo, freeze frame, etc. multiple times. I'd only admit to such shallowness here, you know. Still, she's the most talented point guard ever, and best ball handler in the league.

There's more. I used to work with Teresa's aunt Betty(her mother's sister). That was great, since I got to hear some inside stuff. I had her tell Teresa what a huge fan I am. She got me many of the team's autographs, when she visited Teresa in the locker room at Washington. Unfortunately, GE forced Betty into early retirement (or be laid off) last year.

Hey, I'll come out in support of Kate's fondness for Dark Angel. My SO and I always watch the show, partly because it's fun and partly because I like to watch female characters kick ass. I also watch All My Children just for the Bianca storyline, and that sure is not a high quality production, compared to Buffy.

Dark Angel's Original Cindy character is cool, no matter how little exposure she gets. It's great to have another out lesbian character on tv, especially a show aimed at young people. Like Buffy, this show does not exploit the lesbian character just to titillate or whatever. Original Cindy openly lusts after other women, and that is treated as normal, just like heterosexual lustiness is. IMO, that makes an important statement to viewers and indicates that there's hope that American society is becoming more tolerant. (So how the hell did W get elected President? Well, at least Dick Cheney's daughter is an out lesbian.)

Spring posted 12-22-2000 11:12 EST (US)
Regarding 'Dark Angel', I'm just being conversational. I too watch AMC (sigh) and I even know that Tad loves Dixie who might love David who really DOES love Dixie eventhough Erica thinks that David might....eh you know what I mean. But for the life of me, I can't watch Dark Angel. I literally cannot do it - and I'm surprised at my own reaction more than anything else. I can watch ANYTHING with lesbians in it! And science fiction?! I LOVE sci-fi.
Anyhoo, for an interesting 'Dark Angel' perspective: http://www.salon.com/ent/col/mill/2000/10/03/dark_angel/index1.html

Okay, perhaps I'll go so far as to admit that the show might be a bit too contrived and JA was only picked for her cuteness -- after all, a manufactured soldier would be a tank girl, wouldn't she? But I can't admit that I watch a ridiculous show -- I'm a Leo and a Dragon!

As far as DA goes, sorry, Spring, that you feel that way. Granted the show is not the best in the schedule & I certainly do not crave the next episode (as I do with other shows), but I find it entertaining and a fair segue from Buffy. I don’t think it’s “sooooooo bad” but the prospect of you throwing down with Jessica Alba or “Max” would make one AWESOME episode.

Do you have that link to the “bitter asian lesbian now” thread? Sounds hysterical.

And just a quick reponse to Spring's statement about Kira. I loved Ro Laren and at first I too considered Kira a knock-off, but only for the pilot. In Emissary they gave her the same hairstyle to make her look like Ro and made her act like her. Fortunately they cut her hair into a nice boyish style the very next ep, and she quickly became her own (kick-ass) character after that. And like I've stated in my intro I loved her relationship with Odo, now if only he would have changelinged himself into a gorgeous woman, they would have made the perfect couple.

Glad to see so many Southerners here! Guess
I might as well introduce myself.

My name is Katie. I'm a 20-year-old sometime child care worker and student. Due to several years of advanced English classes I tend to analyze "stories" to the hilt.

I've lived in Alabama for all my life, though I spent the first five days of my life in Marietta, Georgia. I'm a writer, a
vocarious reader, I own an enormously large movie collection, and I really like gothic/fairy tale stuff.

I also have a 12-yr-old cat named Patches who has inherited my moody, somewhat bitchy personality.

I used to be an ER addict but I can safely say that I will honestly never watch the show again. Doug/Carol were my couple and I feel ER messed it up with them BIG TIME and they lost my loyalties. Thankfully, I got my happy ending and I'm grateful for that

I only mention this because there is a lot of ER talk on this board, but, like B/A shippers, I am still bitter.

I'm currently trying to figure out if I'm bisexual. Don't ask.

Anyhoo, I got turned onto BTVS in season 3 because of Faith, who is still my favorite character. Anya is a close 2nd (hence the name). We share the same mode of thinking (tho I'm not sure how healthy that is). My third favorite is Tara, who resembles me in so many ways.

Anyhoo, I happen to love both shows, but connect a lot more with Angel. They're both fast becoming my new obssession and I dig that.

Already I can tell y'all are a naughty bunch

I suppose if I was purely straight I would have to give up my crush on Julianna Margulies. Alas, I can not bear the thought.
But if that stays just in my fantasies that's okay with me.

Besides, enough of my friends are involved inc rappy relationships for me to not want to
go there right now, anyway.

I suppose I should have come to this thread first to introduce myself - never mind, I'll do it now.

I'm Beowulf (from HDC), 33, male, from the UK (Worcestershire to be precise-ish) - not too far from Birmingham Zelda, but probably not the same one.

Been a fan of Willow/Alyson for a while, but sort of went off the deep end during her visit to the UK earlier in the year, which was when I started posting at HDC. I've occasionally popped over here for a look-see as well.

Err, what else, oh I've a degree in Physics/Astrophysics (really!), and now work in the energy industry (not nuclear though - natural gas mainly) - yes, really interesting - not.

I will probably be an infrequent poster, which is just as well, as I can never stay on-topic - Willows Puppy will testify to that!

Hi everyone. I am new to the board. I came in search of ER K/K discussions and after a week of lurking have been very satisfied. The people here are very unique and I am glad I found (actually I was pointed here) this site.

A little about me. I am a lesbian. I will be 23 in 11 days. I live in East Texas. I am a first year teacher, who is very excited to be past the half way mark in the school year . I am an obssesed fan of Star Wars, I have the number one ticket for Episode one sold in my city. I camped out at the movie theater . I am also a huge fan of The X-Files, and have every episode on tape . Also I am an ER fan. I have just started recording them, but not soon enough so I am busy downloading K/K footage in order to rewatch and analyze My other interest include rollerblading and reading. I happen to have a huge library of Sci-Fi, Mystery, etc.

Well I guess that is all there is to say about me. I llok forward to lurking around and making the occasional post.

Hello everyone,

my name is Theodora (Theo for short), I'm 25 and a rock singer/songwriter.

Obviously, I'm new to this message board , but I have been a BtVS since its early days. With the start of season 3 I became what we call a "hardcore nutball" over in the Xena fandom. *g*

In season 4 Tara totally blew me away with her very first appearance. Until Tara, Willow was always my number 1 ... now it's kinda hard for me to decide who's cuter. *lol* Joke. I love all of Joss Whedon's characters. And as a lesbian I am very proud of how sweet and "natural" he managed to portray the T/W relationship.

My buddy Andreas and I have a BtVS/XWP website, which includes original fan art, e.g. my new Tara/Willow song and the music video Andi has created for it:

I haven't watched Buffy (ever), but after enjoying your wonderful board for the past while I will definitely watch it the next time it is on.

Hey,

I thought I'd introduce myself because I've been lurking for a few days. I'm from the UK (poor me) and I've been watching Buffy from the second episode. I eventually got to see the first one part way through season two

I've been enjoying the Kerry/Kim thread (anyone know when new ER starts over here? *sigh*) and the AMC thread. I saw a few episodes of it while I was in Canada (just at the start of the Libidizone on the boat plot) and thought Bianca was great. Pretty cute too.

Lucky me got to see a couple of Buffy episodes while I was there as well - yay 'Family' Willow has always been my favourite character and I think Tara is great. I have to say that real quiet around here (my sister's a rabid Oz fan) but still... The W/T plot has made me feel a lot better about my own sexuality, less like a freak, so I feel really grateful to Joss et al for going with it.

Anyway, that's me in dull monochrome. Y'all asleep yet?

I've seen most of season 1, and what my friend called "willow relevant epis" all the way through season 4, and have been religiously watching season five. It's great to know that there are other fans of the relationship out there...there are so little representations of lesbians on television, I feel like we need to hang on to what we can, and if possible...make things better (Joss, could you please just let them kiss, please? heehee).

Intro time. My name is Kris, and for the record, I don't know why I picked my stupid username but I did and that's all there is. I'm an SF Bay Area gal and I live with my very very (very) pregnant partner, who is due to give birth to our first child any day now.

I was drawn into this group via the ER Kerry-Kim drama, and I'm quite obsessed. For the wannabe psychologists out there, yes, I think it's quite possible that I'm sublimating my stress over the upcoming birth by focusing on this TV show, thank you very much.

I don't watch Buffy, mostly on account of I don't get this station. I tried watching All My Children last week when I was sick, but I kept thinking that Bianca didn't look like any lesbian I ever knew, so the story didn't draw me in at all.

(Spring, to answer you're question about why I don't get WB, I have a satellite dish, so I only get the big networks. Our apartment is in an apparent black hole of reception and competent cable installers.)

That's about it.

Uhm, hi! I'm Joy and I mostly have so far made some obsessive comic book posts on another thread. So introductions....

I am 20 and have lived my whole life in Upstate NY (more cows than people!). I just graduated from a 2 year communtiy college in December, I now hold an Associate's Degree for Graphic Design. However, I just got a job as a clerk for Stweart's Shops, a convenience store chain in the area. This was necessary because I figure I can work my @$$ off and pay for my twin sister's car (which I smashed), then save up and move to Cali and be with my Love. =) Hopefully this will all be accomplished in the next 2-3 months.

Other interests are my crazy cat Star who is 5 months old, my girlfriend, the internet, Xena and Buffy, comic books, and my truck Betty. I also have the rather unusual (for my geographic area) obsession with Jack in the Box. There are no Jack in the Box's in New York, and people keep stealing my Jack antenna balls off my truck. >_< I also love drawing and a comic called Elfquest. One day I aspire to have my own daily comic strip.

Lately I use my spare time making Willow and Tara themed Winamp skins in Photoshop. Fun to do and keeps my design skills up for when I am no longer a clerk. *^_^*

*EVERYONE* (hee hee) can download my W/T Winamp skins from Extra Flamey!!!

They are in the Misc. Goodies section. The versions that I have there are not totally done (as in I haven't made mini-browser skins for them yet, but who ever uses the mini-browser anyway) ... but when I spiff them up a bit they will be updated. The versions I have of them now are very lovely.

I have an Amber skin that I downloaded, but it's not as nice as the ones I made, because who ever made it didn't even make their own Playlist skin! How lazy!!

How I came about making the skins was, I was trying to find W/T skins and looked all night before I decided that there were none to find. And so I stayed up all night making my first one. It was a nice project and hopefully people can enjoy them. I like to share my work with people ... maybe I can even get a real job somehow LOL.

I am originally from the UK, but now live in San Antonio, TX, and am pretty sure that nobody else in this city is even aware of the existence of Buffy. Okay, at first, I scoffed. The movie (I thought) was pretty terrible... but somehow I started watching the show, and have been hooked ever since. The whole cast works wonderfully together. I don't know if it is just fabulous directing, but all of them seem to have a great chemistry together. Oh, yes, I am a HUGE fan of W/T. Heehee - they are so cute!
More pointless info... I go to school in SA, currently have no major, but will probably do something like communications so that I won't starve to death while I attempt to write.

Hiya! I'm Kalita, and I just came across this board a short wile ago. I haven't actually been watching Buffy for long - just most of this season - but I've got a lot of the background from all the fanfic I've read. As my sig indicates, I am a sponge for fanfic - any wuality f/f story from a universe I follow is fair game, and I'll suck it dryer than a vamp's victim. It helps that I'm a fast reader.

I'm also working on writing some stories, but I've yet to get my muse ramped up to a level where I have anything I want to publish. I've got two in development hell right now - an uber Xena and a Faithfic - but there's no telling if they'll ever get done or survive in their current form.

School is one of the big pulls on my time, plus I work, so I get in what I can. I will hopefully have more time (and a better job!) once I convocate in June. (convocate=graduate, but somehow they don't use that term. )

Anyway, great to be on board here, I hope to have time to keep posting - I'll probably still be lurking, whatever the case.

Yes, there are an incredible no. of posts here and I hate that I've missed and lost intros in all the pages. It would be great if there was a way that the first post could include an index to each person's intro. That would be a lot of work, though.

Welcome new people! You'll learn that Xita rocks and runs a great board here. Don'tcha Xita?

Hey all!

Okay, the only thing i have to say is that from the moment i first laid eyes on her i knew i was in love. Ms Kitty Fantastico i love you!!!

Heheh, anyways i've been lurking for awhile now and thought i'd actually join in on the fun. I'm 17 and from Australia and have been a huge Buffy fan since it began. Now I'm also a huge Amber/Tara fan not only because Amber is so goddamn beautiful on the outside, but she is such a beautiful/cool person on the inside too. From the interviews and stuff i have read, she seems like such a natural person and not at all a foney (is that how u spell it?) like other people in showbiz often sound like. She just says what she wants to say, which is so cool. Okay i admit it, i'm a smitten kitten!

Hi, I'm from Essex in England and have just discovered this board. In fact I've not long discovered BTVS, watched the odd episode before but saw Hush on BBC2 just before Xmas and was hooked! A great ep and amazing chemistry between T&W straight away.

I haven't missed an ep since and will have to catch up with the earlier seasons sometime! I love the strong female characters, especially Buffy not needing anyone to come to her rescue.

Plus I am a sucker for any lesbian storyline - my g/f reckons I am trying too hard to be a dyke. I prefer to think of it as an obsessive/compulsive nature *lol*

:: smirk::

How about a few more introductions? You know who you are...but we may not.

Heya tracey here.
dropping in for a sporadic visit.
I'm a 27 year old australian web developer and writer (noticing a bit of a trend in this direction in this group).

(i just hope they get buffy there!)
i also (when i can manage to tear myself away from my net connection and my spoiler addiction) like to hang out outside hiking, climbing, diving, jumping out of planes etc.

good to meet you all... see you around

At the risk of sounding sexist, I feel that I should point out that properly presented there no such thing as too much or too little cleavage. It's the person behind it who counts.

Xita, I'm sure you would look stunning in either a tux or a gown.

HOLIDAYS START TODAY!!!!! well that should be "holidays" (c me doing little air finger thingys) because my stupid school, has decided that there will be one week of actual holidays, then a revision week, for the lead up to exams, but I'm dealing, HOLIDAYS START AT 1.35!!!

Im not particularly evil, or skanky.
and my new nickname (Thankx Beck, I love u too :-P) is heathermiesterbongaholic.
