American Pie II - Out Now

Postby Wolfie » Wed Aug 15, 2001 1:56 am

Ooookayyy... Can I just say, Tree and Geekgod, that not all blokes are like that! However, I do take your point, and do have friends who seem most content when bellowing like rutting stags across a clearing!

As a Blighty-goer, Lord alone knows when I shall get to see it, as I guess it isn't coming out here for a while. I have only just seen no1, though. I thought it amusing, with one or two big laughs. I loved the "father and son" bits. Thank God I never had my father produce a large brown envelope and say "now, this one's called Hustler". Heh. He went into spasms of embarrassment when I left Nicholson Barker's "Vox" on the coffee table! I also thought Aly was really good. She has a lovely, expressive face; lots of little things going on all the time, without it getting hammy. I loved the look she gives, before the bedroom scene. Not to mention "say my name bitch!" I can't say I liked the other female characters, though. What can I say? Maybe it was Aly who made them all seem a bunch of bland, insipid blondes! And Oz and (is it Heather? I'm not too good with the names) made me wanna barf! I'm sooo glad that Aly seems to have much more screen time in the second. Hope they develop the "Mrs Robinson" stuff beyond the brief cliche, too. That would be good.
Ah, well, guess it'll take me at least two years to see that one, as well. *sigh*.

I think AP2 is out in the UK in September sometime. We usually get movies about a month after the US. So...Planet of the Apes, anyone?

Otherwise known as "Marky Mark and the Monkey Bunch," according to my friend.

When does "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" hit UK movie theaters? I hear the stage production in Edinburgh is doing really well . . . my friend is in it, and I so wish I could see her!

*stalk*, Ruth.

I've no idea, Shanie (thanks for the stalking by the way). I've never been to the Edinburgh Festival, pity really. That's another one of those things you always mean to do but never quite get round to it.

Postby Sneaky Kitty » Wed Aug 15, 2001 9:54 am

hi kids...I went to see AP2 on sunday with my bud Im going again this weekend cuz i absolutly loved it!!!! I think it was way way better thn the first one. Way funnier (is that aa word?), it had its "OMIGOD THEY ARE GONNA DO THAT?!" spots, and it had its cute spots...I absolutly lvoed it. I kinda liked it more cuz it wasnt really totally about sex this time around. AP the wholw plot was loosing your virginity by graduation. And the whole movie built up to that, complete with like 4 seperate sex scenes near the end...this one was about friendships more. It had its uh...interesting spots..but it wasnt really bout sex and i think thats what made it a better movie. It had an actual plot..sorta kinda?
I lvoed it....and who else totally loved the ending awwwwww...i was soo awwwwing those scenes.. *ya know what im talkin bout Yo, i just dont wanna spoil the ending for everyone...but its a swell ending*

favorite quote: (something to the effect of) Im a band geek. I think ive always been one, I just never joined the band -Jim I loved that!!

Its in my sig on another board cuz i like..obbsessed ya know?

Anywyas, yeha more the most part i though Alys voice was a little higher pitched this movie..but then again she was featured more in this one so....hmmm?

about the thing about guys and movies..whats up with them?? They are totally retarded or something. And i know soooo many who think just cuz 2 girls hang out they are lesbians..i mean come on boys get a clue. just cuz girls can hang out with their friends and boys are to afraid too cuz one may end up bigger*hehe* or better then them at something doesnt mean they can judge us..grr.

i mean i bought popcorn and a large pop at the theater...so me and y best friend could share and all okay? we do that all the time. cheaper! Anwyays she couldnt find her 5 so i paid the whole thing and just had her repay me half when she found her bills..anywyas the guys in line totall ythought we were gay just cuz i bought popcorn WTF? Weird!

Stupid people out there!! And to go in groups is just as bad. I mean ive gone to movies with like maybe 12 people...say 8 girls 4 boys. its a weird weird experience!

I just came back from seeing it and I laughed my ass off, this movie was hilarious, although all of the characters from the first one are back, mostly this movie is about Jim and Michelle

The whole Michelle/Jim thing was sweeter than I thought, after all the laughs of the Michelle/Jim/Nadia pool playing scene, when Michelle got in her car and she was teary eyed, that got to me right away, Aly truly is a great actress...*sigh*

But when it comes to pure laughs, Stiffler stole the show, man he was so funny in this movie

Do you always have to be on a date when you're at the movies? I don't see the whole "empty seat between 2 guys" thing happening here in Toronto. Maybe because the theatre was too full so they couldn't that. Or maybe cuz I never notice the guys...

I've never really noticed guys sitting apart like that. Really, the only times I've ever sat separate from the person I was watching a movie with, male or female, was when we've used the seat between us to make a shared "Coat and snack station."

Of course we don't talk through out a movie but sometimes you just have to tell your friend something or remark on a really stupid part of the movie.

Okay, is it just me, or were the guy who played Kevin (Tom?) and Mena inferring that Alyson was a "commanding" bitca (*thwaps them both upside the head for good measure*) in their commentary when they mention her during her first scene, referencing "the last line" of hers in the first movie?

And yeah, Mena Suvari is pretty much insufferably irritating throughout the actor commentary. Among other things, it sounds like she never even read the script.

Survey says: sometimes actors skeer me.

Oh god, Dumbsaint! No, I don't think that's what they were trying to say. I thought that Jason Biggs was trying to get the guts to say that Aly was basically a big perve (again in the best sense) who is the type of person who would say, "Say my name bitch!" and the other two were just being silly and egging him on. He was saying that she is not at all like her character except, maybe, in the sexual area. I took "commanding" to mean that, like Michelle, Aly is sexually unihibited and, unlike Michelle, she is very outgoing. A dual meaning for "commanding" there. Besides, all three of them were cooing about how darn cute she was just three seconds before that comment and were complimentary of her throughout the commentary. Also, Mena and Thomas had very few scenes with her, so what do they know? They seemed to mostly be reacting to Jason's comments, which, as I said, were VERY positive.

Also, having had a chance to listen to pertinent parts of all the commentaries now, ALL of them had great things to say about Alyson. I picked up NO bad feelings AT ALL. Quite the opposite, I got the impression she was extremely well-liked. And, geez, looking at the behind-the-scenes footage, it seemed she was having a great time with one and all. Everyone seemed loose and happy.

Alyson's a sweetheart. A perverted and spazzy one, but a sweetheart none the less. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

I love how on all the commentaries the Aly love is just so rampant Jason Biggs just can’t stop praising her and in Eddie Kay Thomas’ commentary, he says something like all the women of AP2 deserve their accolades but of all the girls, Alyson Hannigan is his favorite, even though she plays a geek, she makes her sooo sexy, now there’s a guy who knows what he’s talking about

Mena Suvari is just so lame in her commentary but I will give her one thing, she has great taste, she said Aly was so cute

Hehe. Yeah, I guess that one line of theirs along with the "commanding" comment could very well be interpreted as inferring that she was openly a huge pervert, too. *happy sigh* Bless her. Especially in light of all the good things they had to say about her. And also the fact that they kept asking each other if various pervie lines of hers were in the shooting script or had been ad-libbed by her on the spot, such as the "Say my name, bitch!" line in the first flick that they had been referring to. Hehe.
I haven't watched the other commentaries yet, as I was muchly put off by how boring the one with the three actors was. Heh. Biggs was the only one I thought wasn't insufferable, but then I am biased in his favor. My straight wife wants to marry him. You just gotta love a gleefully rambunctious brown girl with a thing for goofy Jews. She also wants to marry Adam Sandler.
I'll give the other ones a watch this week and see what everyone else had to say about Aly. I'm glad to hear it was glowing reviews all around. Yay Aly!

Signed,
Julia... who did not have sweaty, naughty-type thoughts about Aly yesterday evening while she was doing some- er, spells... swear!

I'm giving this a BUMP because AP2 came out on DVD today. I picked up the unrated version (like I would bother with the R version!) I haven't gone through all the extra features yet (my Buffy DVD also came today, so I've been busy!!), but there are a few great Aly outtakes (including Jason Biggs fondling her breasts over and over) and a short clip of her reading for the part of Michelle. Overall, there's a lot more of her on this DVD than the one for the first film.

In case there was any question left, the extras on the DVD prove that Aly is a complete goofball (in the best sense of the word!). She obviously had a good time with the cast and the cast clearly loved her. One of the 3 separate commentaries features Jason Biggs, Mena Suvari and Thomas Ian Nicholas together and basically every time Aly comes onscreen, one of them is saying, "She's so cute! Look at her! And from all of her antics on the behind the scenes footage and outtakes, it's very apparent that Aly is telling the truth when she says the film subject matter is right up her, uh, alley. A prude, she is definitely not and I love her for it! My kinda girl!

Speaking of commentaries, I wish Aly would have done one. I knew before I bought this DVD that she didn't and perhaps she was asked and didn't have time, but god, she would have been an improvement over Mena Suvari. I'm sorry, but she brought almost nothing to the conversation: "Did you really blow the trombone in that person's face? Wow, that must have been loud." Fascinating. Aly was also in the film more than any of the other girls, so she would have had more to actually comment on than Mena or anyone else. I guess I should just be happy that Tara Reid didn't do one. Bleh.

Anyway, if you liked the movie and have $20 burning a hole in your pocket, the DVD is worth picking up. There is Aly cuteness 'o plenty!

Yay Aly!

American Pie II - Out Now

Postby Warduke » Wed Aug 15, 2001 5:29 pm

I hardly ever go on a date to the movies. Usually I'm with a friend.

I've never really noticed guys sitting apart like that. Really, the only times I've ever sat separate from the person I was watching a movie with, male or female, was when we've used the seat between us to make a shared "Coat and snack station."

len, the coat and snack section sounds good since we always end having to hold the greasy bag of popcorn between us. But I like sitting close to my friends so we can talk about the movie. Of course we don't talk through out a movie but sometimes you just have to tell your friend something or remark on a really stupid part of the movie.

You have to sit close to be able to toss chocolate covered peanuts down your friend's shirt....not that I would ever do something like that.

Eh, I'm not so good at the whole sharing of sweeties thing in the cinema. I tend to clutch my popcorn close.

Now, as for AP2, I'm dying to know what happens in the end. I have a pretty good idea but is it best to stay unspoiled until I see it or not?

I'd say it's best to stay unspoiled but as you watch it, you'll realize that it's pretty predictable. But stay unspoiled for sure.

Set your VCRs' if interested.

American Pie II - Out Now

Postby Willowlicious » Tue Jan 15, 2002 11:58 pm

God, she's great!" Jason said that, of all the cast, Aly and Seann William Scott are least like their characters. Seann is reportedly a sweetheart as opposed to the "asshole" he plays and Aly is "intelligent" and "commanding." Hmmm.

Kristy, considering AP2 is still showing in alot of cinemas, I doubt that the DVD will be coming out soon. I'd say we're looking at a release date of at least 2 1/2 months from now - AT LEAST - Of course *hides in the shadows and whispers softly*, if you wanted to acquire the VCD on the black market, I'd suggest going to some Asian stores... or if you happen to have any friends going to the Philippines or anything like that. That's all I can think of.

Okay, I think I've discovered Aly's true sex face. In "The baking of american pie 2" on the DVD she makes this face when she's pretending to have sex with the flute.
Then in "Outtakes" she pretends she's going to go down on jim, and she basically makes the same faces except geared towards oral sex(slightly open mouth with little bit of tongue hanging out.)

Also, from the AP1 dvd in one of the extra's she's playing behind the scenes and grabs Jim's butt; she makes basically the same face.

Is this just me, or is it a very genuine looking?

Very very hot if you didn't check it out.

If any of you have seen them, let me know what you think.

I guess this is an appropriate thread for this little Aly tidbit, which I haven't seen posted elsewhere...apologies if it was....

On Jeopardy! the other night (I believe it was Tuesday, actually) there was a category called "Costumes" or something to that effect, and one of the clues had this chick wearing a Tall Oaks Band Camp shirt and shorts, and she goes, "One time? At band camp? This actress wore the costume seen here."

The correct response, of course, was "Who is Alyson Hannigan?" Unfortunately no one buzzed in. But this is the third or fourth time that Aly has been an answer on Jeopardy!. She clearly has a fan or two on the writing staff.

I remember when there was a whole category on jeopary called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. i didn't actually see it but it had clips of it online.
and i totally LOVED AP2 when i saw it last summer in theaters. i saw it 4 times in theaters and i have the unrated dvd. i thought the movie was SO hilarious and i liked it better than the first. probably becuase aly had such a greater role in this one. she had a bigger role than all the other females, i loved it! and i love how blunt and stuff michelle is! and that part with the trumpet! and when michelle was breaking up with jim! i love that movie! maybe i'll go watch it right now.
