Wednesday In the Park With Buffy (8/1 Shoot Report)

Hmmmmmm......

I wonder if the best comment about this question wasn't made by the late Groucho Marx in the course of an interview. The interviewer asked him if he was bothered by fans who recognized him in the street and came up to him asking for autographs.

Now Marx, who was an old vaudevillian and who started out playing in tiny theatres in one-horse towns, replied thusly--
Groucho: You know what's worse than being recognized?
Interviewer: No.
Groucho: Not being recognized.

Thanks G-man. I mean, the point I was making was pretty much summed up by yourself. I understand Paula's whole thing about their place of work, but better someone sees them there than on their off time, when they want to be alone.

Besides, when it comes down to it, all the merchandise and shit we buy; it all goes to make the Buffy phenomenon work. Ergo, in some way we fans help the machine to keep going.

There's no way I'd ever compromise someone's privacy or alone time. No way. I used to work in a theatre and seeing people hanging round the door at all hours was disturbing. But you know, if someone has a job that puts them in the public eye, they must be prepared to take the consequences of that.

Having said that, I'm a complete weenie when it comes to going up to people and saying hello; I always was, even when I worked with 'em at the theatre.
