Amber Sings Again, ASH CD "music for elevators"

I ordered this today. I know it's too late to turn back now but...have I done the right thing? Ack.

Anyway, whatever happens, I'm sure ASH's voice will soothe the savage beast. Not that I know any beasts, savage or otherwise...but you get the picture.

Sort OT, but on the FAQ it doesn't say anthing about level 10 - is it like a sneaky secret level, or something?

I think I'll D/L on of the tracks as a sample, I definitely don't think anyone should download the whole album without paying for it - that wouldn't be cool, no sir!

Just wanted to add that most of the songs on the CD are available on Kazaa/Morphues. Except for the hidden track with Aly's vocals. It's called End Game.

Well, it was a secret for some time, until someone hit it, lol. I think when our worshipfulness was creating our little world here, she wanted to hold something back for those sad buggers who post too much. Um, that's me and Garfield, by the way.

Hi Novelty! Well, I searched for "All The Fun At The Fair" (Song with Amber on vocals) and from there linked to other songs. There ar 12 in all that I found. Or You could look under 'Anthony Stewart Head + George Sarah".

If you still can't find any, e-mail me!

Heh heh. Oh yeah, I am in thunderous agreement. I've been resisting posting a rant on the 'Pens' board about all those people who profusely thank their hard-working beta readers or editors then proceed to write things like "Lieutenit" or "elegable" or my personal favorite, "reeking havoc."

It feel like we're heading back to the pre-Noah Webster days when "their" or "there" is used randomly instead of "they're" everywhere I look.

I've been trying to remember who it was that said, "The first sign of bad writing is bad spelling." It hardly seems to matter to some people but to me it's like talking to someone with spinach stuck between their teeth.

Edited to add:
Does anybody even buy CD's any more? The RIAA (recording industry group) cut their own throats when they decided to sue Napster. Instead of trying to come up with a rational digital rights arrangement they paid Congress to write the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. The biggest losers are musicians, unfortunately, most of whom barely make a living. How many people will pay $14 for ASH's CD when they can download the MP3's for nothing?

The recording industry had a chance to fix this a few years ago in a way that would have been a win-win for everybody but they were too greedy and short sighted. New music sales were down 5% last year- the first decline in over a decade. I bet they'll drop another 10% this year, then we'll see some big shakeups in the industry.

I still buy albums, if I really like the artist and so on. Personally if I really wanted a whole CD I wouldn't download it from the net. On the other hand what I do like having Morpheus for it is to check out a few songs from a CD and to download a track if I want just one song from a CD or if it's rare and not available in most record stores.

I might be strange but I would be happy to pay a subcription to be able to download whatever songs I wanted if it stoped internet music being shut down. After all the cost of music would have to be less, considering your not getting a hard copy which most people would want for something they really liked.

It would mess up the single market totally but surely they could construct a chart of popular downloads from offical sites into some form of chart.

I'd still be willing to buy Anthony's album - though for a considerably much dearer price, at around $40ish to ship it oer here, and I ask you how sad is that?! I would like it for a keep sake, cd cover and all. The only reason I download/burn songs is when I like just one particular song from an artist and am not willing to pay $30 for one song or if I can't find the cd. But really I could never be bothered downloading all the songs from one album just to save some money.

I'll still buy it. Personally, I've always felt a little uncomfortable downloading off the web. Not for programs or update, but music a stuff of that nature. And since not I had to change to a brand new computer because a supposedly trusted site (no names given) turned out to be a virus by mistake. I tend not to want to do that anymore. Though i still DL scripts and stuff.

(Cause I trust mey fellow Kitties)

Plus ASH's Cd is a special item and who wouldn't wasnt a special item.

I only D/L b-sides, rareities and sample tracks to see if I like an album before I buy it. I wouldn't download a whole record and not buy it afterwards. Doing that is like walking up to the artist and smacking them in the face! It's all very well to blame the music industry, but it's the smaller artists (like ASH) who suffer. The only time I would D/L a record was when it was by someone who really didn't need the money, like Metallica or someone.

"Top line" means that Amber is singing the higher of the parts. Unfortunately I haven't actually heard the song so I can't be of any more help.

Just chiming in to say Woo and Hoo, I got my copy today (ordered it from Barnes and Noble) and I'm about halfway through and really enjoying it. ASH has a really amazing voice. And it's nice to hear Amber again, of course, and James. Haven't gotten to the song with Aly in it yet.

Don't get excited. If you didn't know it was Aly you'd miss it.

Hi you can dl them off Adiogalaxy or kazaa. I bought it from Amazon but did not want to wait to hear the songs. If you can't find them, e-mail me :-)

*edited to say that instead of double/triple posting, please edit your last post by clicking on this button and add anything new to that one.
