Poetry: The Dark Inside

Postby Scarecrow » Sat Mar 23, 2002 12:54 pm

This is a poem i wrote after watching Tough Love. be warned, it may be a little depressing...

The Dark Inside.

A Poem by Mark Adams.

We don’t always get to choose

our paths. Other hands decide the

fates of many, choice departed.

Body and mind were as one, now

separated by walls of

darkness. Impenetrable.

Grasping at body, the mind

slips into the void. Trapped,

screaming to get out, to be

free. The noise, the shapes in the black;

they all conspire to keep

it hidden. No salvation.

Release the memories of

the past, except the fate.

Never again to know your

loved ones touch, to laugh, to smile

or to walk the world as one;

it is ended. Forever.

- Based on the events of “Tough Love”.

"She's my everything"

"It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches; it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees"

"There are worlds out there where the skies burning,

Where the sea's asleep and the rivers dream,

With people made of smoke and cities made of song,

Somewhere theres danger, somewhere theres injustice,

somewhere else the teas getting cold.

Come on Ace,

We've got work to do"
