“Ok Buffy, we’ll be out soon” Tara said, as Buffy left
As Tara shut the training room door, she heard a soft groan. Tara turned around to find Willow doubled over, clutching her midsection.
“Willow!” she exclaimed.
As she rushed to Willow’s side, Tara felt the cold chill of dark magic.
“no.” Willow said, almost too low for Tara to hear.
Just as Tara reached her, Willow began to fall. Tara quickly caught, and guided her to a chair.
“I can’t…..I won‘t” Willow closed her eyes tightly as she broke out in a cold sweat.
Tara kneeled in front of willow, clasping her hands.
“Willow honey, You won’t what?”
Willow’s eyes snapped open. “Tara” she said, as if just realizing her presence.
Tara gasped at the sight of Willow’s eyes. They were flickering between normal Willow-green and Dark magic-Black. After a few moments they settled on green as Willow regained control.
“Cast” Willow said, solemnly. “I won’t cast But I don‘t know how long I can fight it.”
“Fight what?” Tara didn’t like the sound of this.
“The magic…. I needed power, so I got the black arts books. But I had no time for the reading, so I just sucked the spells up. I kinda absorbed them.” Willow slipped her hands from Tara’s and stood as she spoke.
“Oh Willow! Which books?“ Tara asked, with growing concern. “ Some of those books were so tainted by evil, it was painful just to be near them.”
“All of them.” tears slowly rolled down Willow’s face
“All of…..GODDESS!…..all that darkness.” Tara was shaken, by how much hurt and anger Willow must have felt, to take such drastic measures.
“It’s all in here now.” Willow patted her chest. “And I don’t know how much longer I can keep it in.” Willow turned away from Tara, unable to face her now that she knew everything.
Tara moved behind Willow, and wrapped her arms around her. She placed her mouth near Willow’s ear, and spoke in a voice that was soft, yet somehow firm.
“I love you Willow, and I meant what I said earlier. I’m still here, and I not going anywhere.“
Willow relaxed into Tara’s embrace. “You’re not?
Tara turned Willow to face her. “I‘m not, and whatever happens, we’ll get through this together.”
“Forever?” Willow asked quietly.
“Forever.” Tara leaned closer to Willow.
“Promise?” Willows voice was almost a whisper.
“I promise.” Tara sealed her words with a kiss.

Jonathan, Andrew, and Xanderbot stood inside a large loft, not far from the hospital. The walls were lined with electronic equipment file cabinets and a very impressive computer system. In the center was what appeared to be a modified boxing /wrestling ring. The ropes were made of barbwire and there was no mat, just bare wood, which was stained many colors.
“So, why’d you leave Warren? I thought you needed him.” asked Jonathan.
“Yeah, and what are we doing here?” Added Andrew.
“Warren wasn’t in physical, or mental condition, to be of any use to us. He was however, able to tell me who can help us, and how to make them do my bidding.” Xanderbot said, with an evil grin.
“Well, this place is way cooler than that stupid basement.” Jonathan said. “I can’t believe you guys had another hideout, and didn’t tell me.” The hurt was clear in his voice.
“Don’t you get it? Me and Warren are partners, you’re just the hired help.” Andrew said smugly.
“If I’m hired help, so are you. Warren ditched both of us.” Said Jonathan.
“I am not! He was coming back for me!” Andrew wined.
“He was not!”
“Was TOO!”
“WAS NOT!!”
Xanderbot stepped between them. “Will you two, shut up. We need to find the Ack’Lar talisman, and we need to find it NOW!”
Jonathan and Andrew quickly began to look in different drawers.
“Right, looking for the talisman now” Jonathan said as he began to search. “Um…what does it look like?”
“DUH!, It looks like…….“ Andrew stopped, realizing he had no idea what it looked like. “Well, it looks like a talisman looks.”
“Thank you, Mr. Helpful.” Jonathan said, sarcastically. “I’m glad we got that cleared up.”
“Now I understand why Warren’s plans failed” Xanderbot said to himself. “It’s in an old wooden box, with ancient symbols on it. There should be a paper taped to it that says Ack’Lar. NOW LOOK!”
After s minute of searching, Jonathan and Andrew were across the room from Xanderbot.
“I think Xanderbot’s programming is malfunctioning.“ Jonathan whispered. “”He doesn’t act anything like the real Xander”
Jonathan suddenly found himself being held in the air by his throat. He looked down into the glowing red eyes of a very angry Xanderbot.
“Three things you should know” Said the bot. “One, My name is Alex. Two, I will NEVER act like ’the real Xander‘. And three, The next person that calls me Xanderbot, will be in a world of pain.”
Alex dropped Jonathan, and headed for the door.
“I’m going to get my ‘sister’. I will attempt to repair her myself.” “Oh, and the next one of you who questions anything I say or do, will not live to see sunrise.

Tara and Willow were still in the training room. Tara was trying desperately not to show it but she was extremely worried. Willow was on an emotional roller coaster, with no breaks.
“….If you hadn’t come back, you would have been safe. You were right, I am dangerous. I mean, look at me now. I’m probably going to blow up or something.” Willow was franticly pacing.
“Sweetie, you’re not going to blow up” Tara sat in the chair trying to think of a way to counter the dark magic. “And, this really isn’t your fault”
“Yes It is. No one Made me use dark magic, I chose it, it was quicker.” As Willow spoke her hair darkened. “You tried to warn me, but noooooo, Willow can’t listen to Tara. She has to do things her own way, regardless of the consequences. Stupid, stupid, stupid.”
“WILLOW!” Tara exclaimed.
Suddenly willow snapped back to herself, she looked at Tara slightly disoriented.
“Was I doing it again? She asked quietly.
Tara nodded silently, trying not to cry. She felt like she was loosing Willow.
“Tara, I’m sorry. I didn’t… “ Willow began.
“No, its okay. I know.” Tara stopped her.
“Maybe we should change the subject, talk about something other than me for a while. I’ve been hogging the conversation.” Suggested Willow.
“Good idea.” Tara agreed .
“………”
“……..”
“……..”
“Um….”
“……yeah…?”
“What do you want to talk about?” Tara asked.
“Hmmm……. OH! Sooo…..Um…. how do you like your new body?”
To Be Continued………….
