I like this. Its really indicative of how Willow has learned from her mistakes, and has a new appreciation of what she shares with Tara.

Nice work.

My poor thread... I have neglected it for far too long! The muse has not been too friendly towards me of late but I've tried my hand at a new poem anyhow.

I can’t make many promises.

I have so little to give,

while you –

You have everything I could ever need.

Your arms

could protect me,

body and soul.

Your lips against mine

could heal me,

make me whole.

Your eyes upon my skin

could wake me,

make me alive.

Your smile

could break me,

release this love I hide.

A single whisper from your lips

could breathe life into my existence.

All I ask for is You,

yet it seems so much.

between the regions of kindness.." - Naomi Shihab Nye

Hey Sweetie, I get on the board this morning and what do I find with my dragon eyes!! A new poem from you. Perhaps I should do the dragon dance of happiness or maybe I should strut about flexing my arms...Ha!! What a wonderful poem it is!! I believe you should do the dance and strut about!! You rocketh much!!!

Drakkenfyre - Do you know how distracting your avatar is??? I was so captivated by it that I think I spent a good 15 minutes staring at it before I even remembered why I was in this thread in the first place!

Mollyig - Thanks so much! That was one of my favorite sections of the poem as well.

I love y'all for giving me feedback! :heart

Hiya,

I love your new poem, and have to agree with Drakkenfyre, you really do rock! :)

The final stanza has so much power in it, a simple statement, but so affective.

Keep writing

Ah yes, my avatar! Hey wait!! Are you more captivated by my avatar or by my dancing and strutting? Careful, I may pout!

Darlin', you know that I am only able to focus on your avatar when you are off somewhere else taking a break from your dancing and strutting. I could never take my eyes away from your awesome dance moves and your fabulous muscles. You are much more captivitating than that wonderful avatar of yours - It just happens to come in a close second when you are otherwise engaged. ;)

Dear Lord woman!!! That was incredible!! I loved it all. Especially the line- "only your breath could penetrate this cold" Incredible imagery. *sigh* You may just be my hero now!! Look at you all dark and broody. I love it!!! The Lady Dragon does heartily approve.

Really shows how lost our Willow was to have forgotten her beauty, her love.

Drakkenfyre - You "heartily approve"?! Quite the compliment! Thanks so much for your encouragement and your enthusiasm.

Wow, what can I say?? :)

That was a wonderful yet dark poem. I found the opening lines very powerful and immediately captivating. 'For you were my sun, moon, every second inbetween'-this definately captures Willow's feelings toward Tara.

As you can see I'm not so tired now, so I was able to expand on my feedback :grin

Look forward to your next piece.

Okay, so what does The Lady Dragon have to do to get you to post more poems? Strut? Flex? Dragon dance of happiness? I can do all of those!! *sigh* Guess I will just have to be patient...*taps foot* Don't like being patient...

Would beautiful be an appropriate word? Because your poem was, in a really dark emotional way - you get what I mean? - I don't! ;) 'Infinite nothingness' so perfectly captures the devastation and permanence! More please :grin

Drakkenfyre - No, you don't seem very good at this patient thing... :) Hmm, I will try to get something posted soon!

Re: Poetry

Alright, I didn't want Drakkenfyre to get impatient because she's one of my favorite internet buddies and I would hate to make her cranky. So, here is a new poem:

before you,

I never knew

I could need someone so much,

and she would always be there.

never knew

that one voice

could calm all the fears

which fill my head.

all I do is look at you,

and every worry of the day is lost.

lost,

in the strength of your smile;

the feel of your lips

meeting mine.

lost,

in the tangle of our limbs.

and drowned out by the beating

of two hearts in love.

two arms reach out,

steady me,

and stop my fall.

two eyes see everything,

and love it all.

between the regions of kindness.." - Naomi Shihab Nye

I don't really know what to say about this poem, you seem to have made me speechless - and that doesn't happen very often! Your poem was so beautiful :) Can we have another one please?

Mollyig - Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

Drakkenfyre - Just getting a smile out of you is thanks enough but I do enjoy the struting, flexing, and posting of new poems from the dragon!

Thehighpriestess - I made you speechless? Wow! Now it is my turn to blush! Thank you for the wonderful compliment!
