The Bronze

Dawn sat alone at on the sofa waiting for Min to return from the bathroom. She couldn’t believe how the evening had gone, what started out as a nice evening out had rapidly turned into something a little bit special. She had kissed Min, and really kissed her, Dawn closed her eyes remembering the soft touch of Min’s lips on her own. The memory sent a warm tingle down her spine.

She had only know her a week, but Min had something magical about her, something that made her go all giddy inside. Dawn had never really thought she could fall for a girl, but it was happening to her. Min was something amazing and made her feel so happy.

“I wonder if Willow felt like this, when she was falling for Tara.” Dawn said quietly to herself.

“Hey Dawn, you ok?”

Dawn looked up straight into Min’s eyes, she just gave Min a big smile. “I am great, better than great.”

Min giggled a little, she sat down next to Dawn and came in close again, and she could feel Dawn’s hot breath on her lips. “You really are a very pretty girl Dawn.”

Dawn replied by firmly pressing her lips onto Min’s just wanting to taste the beautiful girl again. Dawn completely lost herself in the kiss not wanting it to end. Min gently stroked a the side of Dawn’s hair, while she felt their lips softly moving against each other, the kiss became more passionate, their tongues exploring each other’s mouths.

Finally the broke the kiss both breathless, their hearts beating fast in their chests.

“Oh my god that was intense.” Dawn said. “That was just so amazing.”

“I know, I felt it too.” Min said, still a little breathless.

The sat back a little both smiling warmly at each other, their hands touching now. Just sitting there gazing into each others eyes.

“Dawn?” Min said.

“Yes Min?” Dawn replied.

“I know this is a little forward, and we still hardly know each other, but it’s the weekend tomorrow…” Min began.

“Yes.” Dawn said a hopeful tone in her voice.

“Do you want to go out again, spend the day together?” Min asked her.

“A second date?” Dawn smiled.

“If you like.” Min paused then continued. “Dawn, I really like you a lot, you’re beautiful and very special. What I am trying to do is…” She paused again. “Oh what the hell, Dawn I am asking you out, I would love to be your girlfriend ok?”

Min knew that she had risked a friendship with Dawn by asking her out, but she felt it was worth it, they shared something and Min wanted to be a part of Dawn’s life.

Dawn could believe it, it was a little faster than she expected but Min had asked her out. She couldn’t help but smile, from the moment they had met Dawn felt that this was what she wanted. “I just hope my sister can cope with me dating a girl.” She thought to herself. “Hey but it’s my life.”

“Min, you’re really asking me to be your girlfriend?” Dawn asked, she just wanted her to confirm it one more time.

“Totally.” Min said boldly.

“I would love to.” Dawn said and kissed Min on the lips again.

“Dawn Summers!” A voice shouted.

“Oh god it’s Xander.” Dawn gasped.

“He sounds a little panicky.” Min said. “I wonder what’s wrong.”

Dawn shrugged her shoulders, she reluctantly stood up and waved to Xander. He spotted them both and ran over to them. “What’s up Xander why the panic, we’re fine, well ok better than fine.” Dawn grinned, reaching out and taking Min’s hand.

“It’s Willow, she’s been hurt.” Xander said.

“Oh my god, is it serious?” Dawn asked. She felt Min tightened her grip on her hand.

“She’s going to be ok, but I think we had better get back ok, your sister is having one of her wig moments.” Xander turned to Min. “I can drop you off back at home or you’re welcome to come back with us.”

Min looked at Dawn who gave her a ‘please’ look, she turned back to Xander. “Thank you, I’ll leave a message on my parent’s ansaphone, they won’t be back home for a long time yet.”

“Ok girls lets go.” He said.

He followed them out of the bronze, watching the way they held hands, he couldn’t help but smile. “Dawn looks like she’s got herself a girlfriend.” He said quietly. “Lets hope Buffy doesn’t follow hers and Willow’s examples or there will be no more girls left for us guys.” He thought to himself.

1630 Revello Drive.

Willow sat on the bed her stomach bandaged up, she sat on the bed meditating concentrating on her wounded belly. Focusing her mind and energy on trying to regrow her skin. She had been tapping into the power of the earth, drawing strength so that she could try and heal herself.

It was a struggle but Willow felt she had to do it, as much as she was reluctant to use magic without Tara being near the pain was just to much not to try.

Tara had just gone to get some fresh dressings she returned, to see Willow with her eyes closed deep in thought. She started to turn away when Willow sensed her.

“Tara?”

“Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt.” She said quietly.

“Tara no, its ok, I am little tired out anyway, please.” Willow patted the bedcovers for Tara to come and join her.

“Healing trance?” Tara asked her. She moved towards the bed.

Willow shook her head. “It’s a healing spell, I am trying to grow new skin.”

Tara smiled. “That’s hard work, are you sure you’re ok doing that alone, do you want to rest a while.”

Willow sat back a little. “I am a little pooped, but I need to try though, it hurts to much not to.” Willow said. She saw that Tara had a little tear in her eye

“What’s wrong baby?” She asked reaching out slowly to wipe the tear from the blonde’s eye.

“I just hate to see you in so much pain, can you use some of my strength to help you?” Tara asked her. “Willow I love you, i’m your girl and I want to help you.”

“Tara baby you where hurt too.” Willow said, Tara had a plaster over her forehead where she had hit her head earlier.

“This is nothing, just a little bump on the noggin.” Tara said. “It’s really ok Willow I promise, Willow I love you please I just want to help that’s all.”

Willow smiled warmly at her girlfriend. “Tara.”

“Yes honey?”

“I love you.” Willow said her hand resting on Tara’s knee.

“I love you too Willow.” Tara replied. “That’s why I want to help you ok?”

Willow relaxed and smiled lovingly into Tara’s blue eyes. “I’d like that.”

Tara sat crossed legged in front of Willow and took both of her hands in her own. “Will this help?”

Willow smiled. “Much.”

Closing their eyes, and still holding each other’s hands, they began to relax and allow the healing to begin.

Downstairs

Dawn opened the front door with Min close behind her, they were still holding hands, and Xander was close behind them.

“Buffy? What happened is Willow ok?” Dawn said as soon as she saw her sister. “Is Tara safe?”

“Dawn its ok, they are fine, Willow’s been cut up a bit, but she’s going to be fine, Tara is with her now.”

“Oh thank god.” Dawn breathed a sigh of relief.

Min stood next to Dawn, and linked her arm in Dawn’s. “What happened?” She asked Buffy.

Buffy noticed her wrapping her arm in Dawn’s; she raised an eyebrow but faced Min. “A demon attacked Willow, it tried to slice her skin off, but Tara stopped it.”

“Ewwwww.” Dawn said pulling a face. “Gross.”

“Tara did it?” Xander asked?

“Yeah she killed it.” Buffy said.

“Way to go Tara.” He said surprised but pleased. “Once again no one messes with her girl.”

Dawn giggled. “Look out for combat wiccan Tara.”

Buffy could resist a laugh at the joke, Tara was always the gentle one of the Scooby gang, the calm and quiet one. Her thoughts of the so-called combat blonde Wiccan, where interrupted by seeing the way Dawn had rested her head on the Min’s shoulder.

“So Dawn did you and Min have a good evening?” She asked them.

Dawn could help but smile. “Yeah I had a really great evening; we really had the best time.”

“I’m glad you did.” Buffy said and turned to Min, whom still had her arm linked with Dawn’s. “How did you find the Bronze?”

“Was pretty cool place.” She replied. “Company was better though.” She gave Dawn a little smile.

“So nothing else happen then?” Buffy said, facing her sister again.

“Great band tonight, and no trolls or vampires.” Dawn answered her, so you know nothing dangerous.

“Uh huh.” Buffy said raising an eyebrow.

Min could sense that Buffy had pretty much guessed that her and Dawn’s evening out was more of a date than just going out as friends. For Min she was out of the closet and had no issues with anyone knowing she was gay. She turned to face Dawn.

“Dawn, can we talk for a moment in private.”

Dawn looked a little concerned. “Sure what’s wrong?”

“Please.” Min said.

“Ok.” Dawn whispered and she then looked at Buffy. “Back in a moment ok?”

Buffy just nodded, she watched as Min led Dawn towards the dining room so they where just out of earshot. She looked at Xander who was shuffling his feet, he just shrugged his shoulders and mouthed silently to Buffy. “Don’t worry.”

Dawn felt her stomach churning a little, as waited until Min had turned to face her before she spoke up. “What’s wrong.”

“I hope nothing is wrong, but I think they know about us?” Min said. “I was worried about you, if you don’t want to tell them now it’s cool, take your time.”

Dawn just looked straight into Min’s eyes, she pulled her a little closer and kissed her firmly on the lips. She smiled at her as their lips parted. “Min, I’m not ashamed of you, why should I be, your amazing, and I really like you. She’s going to find out anyway.”

Min pulled her in close and hugged her, Dawn was pretty incredible for being so bold. Knowing that Dawn wanted people to know they where a couple meant Dawn was serious about her, and to Min that meant a lot.

“Ok, lets do it.” Dawn said.

She took Min’s hand and led her back into the lounge, she stood there in front of Buffy, her hand still firmly in Min’s.

“Buffy.” Dawn said.

“Dawn.”

“There is something I have to tell you, about Min and I.” Dawn told her, she was breathing a little fast now. Min just looked back and forward to Buffy and Xander who said nothing, they just waited for Dawn.

“We’re girlfriends.” Dawn said.

Buffy stared at her. “Oh.”

Dawn shuffled her feet nervously; Min looked back from Xander to Buffy waiting for a reaction.

“Are you serious Dawn?” She asked her.

Dawn nodded her head. “Yes I am serious, Buffy I really like Min, she’s a lovely girl and we just clicked you know?” She said. “Min feels the same about me, Buffy for the first time I really feel there is someone special for me, does this bother you or freak you out?”

Buffy approached them and stood in front of her sister and her girlfriend. She reached out and stroked the side of Dawn’s hair; she smiled warmly at her sister. “Not if she makes you happy, Dawn I love you, and I want you to be happy in your life.”

“You really mean that?” Dawn said smiling.

“Of course I do Dawn.” Buffy turned to Min who was looking proudly at Dawn. “Min, you really care about my sister?”

Min faced Buffy. “I do, she’s an amazing girl, and don’t worry I promise not to break her heart ok?”

“Glad to hear it.” Buffy said.

“Thanks Buffy.” Min said.

“For what?”

“Understanding.” Min replied.

“Hey if my sister is happy then why would I get in the way?” Buffy said smiling. “I’m just happy for you both.”

Dawn let go of Min’s hand and threw her arms around her sister, hugging her tightly. “Thank you Buffy, I love you.”

Dawn faced Xander who hadn’t said a word since she had just in a sense come out of the closet. “Are you ok with this?” She asked him.

Xander just beamed at her. “Dawn, of course it is, I’m happy that your happy. I’ve seen how much Tara made my Willow happy, and if Min can make the Dawnster happy, then I am really pleased for you.”

Dawn ran over and gave him a huge hug. “Thank you Xander, you’re the coolest.”

Min gave a huge smile, she was really pleased that Buffy and Xander had been ok with her and Dawn becoming a couple. She had to think it was the best night of her life. She had totally fallen for Dawn and was overjoyed to find that Dawn wanted to be her girlfriend. “Someone up there must like me.” She thought to herself.

Dawn came back over to Min and wrapped her arms around the Asian girl’s waist, pulling her close. They looked into each other’s eyes, and they kissed.

“Oh god, are you two going to be as bad as Willow and Tara?” Buffy said grinning.

“Men are doomed.” Xander said jokingly. “You’re still with the guys huh Buffy?”

“Xander!” Buffy said surprised.

“Sorry, gotta check you know.” He grinned.

Buffy said nothing and just smirked at him and then winked and walked off to the kitchen, leaving Xander standing there.

“That had better be a joke.” He said.

Min and Dawn just laughed, turning to face each other again, Min looked into Dawn’s eyes. “Hey Dawn, want to hang out tomorrow as it’s the weekend, you know shopping maybe grab a movie or something?”

“Sure, as long as I get to spend it with you, that is cool.” Dawn said smiling warmly.

Buffy returned from the Kitchen and looked at the clock on the wall. “Hey Min, it’s kind of late if you want to give your parents a call you are welcome to stay over.”

“Oh god I didn’t realise the time.” Min said as she glanced at her watch. She took out her cellphone and saw she had it on silent, there where 2 missed calls from home. “Looks like I had better phone them.”

She phoned her mom and after a little reminder that she should check her phone every so often she agreed to allow her to stay over.

“Great, Min you can sleep in my room, I have some spare underwear in my drawer you look about my size so borrow some, I’ll take the couch down here, and Dawn you sleep in your room.” Seeing the look on Dawn’s face, she added. “No arguments young lady.”

“Thank you Buffy.” Min said smiling.

Xander made his way to the door, “Well ladies I shall bid you farewell and goodnight.”

They all said goodnight to him as he left, Dawn turned to Min. “Well I’ll show you to Buffy’s room ok.” She then faced her sister. “Thanks Buffy for being cool about this.”

“It’s ok Dawn, sleep well and I’ll see you in the morning.” Buffy said. “Night Min.

“Goodnight Buffy and thank you again.” Min said.

“Night Min, Night Dawn.”

Dawn took Min’s hand and led her upstairs, she showed her where Buffy’s room and the bathroom where.

“Well I guess this is my stop.” Min said.

“Yeah.”

“Dawn thanks for making this one of the best days of my life.” Min said smiling.

“Min, you made mine too.” Dawn smiled at her.

Min pulled Dawn close their lips meeting again in a passionate kiss. “That’s the nicest way to say goodnight I think.” Min whispered to her.

“It is.” Dawn said. “Goodnight Min, see you in the morning.”

“Night Dawn, sleep well.” Min said.

1540 Revello Drive.

Jodie watched as her girlfriend Pia had finally stopped pacing the bedroom and relaxed a little now. Pia had sensed the reunion and so had Jodie; Willow was safely in the arms of her beloved Tara.

“Come back to bed sweetheart.” Jodie called out to her.

Pia turned away from the window and smiled, the pain of losing two friends was lessening now, knowing that they have given them, the slayer and her friends, the possibility of standing a real chance against the coming darkness.

“Jodie?” Pia asked her.

“Yes baby.” Jodie answered her.

“Do you think we should announce ourselves yet to Willow and Tara?” She said.

Jodie shook her head. “I don’t know, I think we need to give them time for them to heal each other. Soon though, I promise, for now we must wait?”

“All this waiting, it’s driving me crazy.” Pia shrugged her shoulders. “I’m just worried about what Tara’s going to say.”

“Seeing you standing there in the nude is kind of having the same effect on me.” Jodie said, seductively biting her lower lip and trying to take her lovers mind off worrying.

“You’re such a minx.” Pia giggled.

“That’s more like it.” Jodie said. “Come on baby, come to bed, it’s late and we have a lot of work ahead of us.”

Pia lowered her eyes and pouted at her lover, she slowly made her way towards the bed. Jodie pulled back the bedspread, Pia climbed into the soft warm sheets.

Their lips met in a passionate kiss, Jodie savouring the taste of her girlfriend moved closer to feel the warmth of her lover’s body. She placed one hand on Pia's hip and slowly moved her hand up towards her breasts, slowly caressing every inch of her girlfriend’s body. Pia moaned as she felt Jodie's hand cup her breast. She responded by moving her hands over Jodie’s breasts, gently caressing the soft flesh.

"Oh Goddess.” Jodie moaned softly. She decided on how best to respond to her lovers touch. She pressed closer to her lover and slowly let her hands travel down her girlfriend’s body.

"Oh Jodie." Pia Exclaimed.

London, England, Watchers headquarters

Quentin Travers was not a happy man; he was sitting at the council table in the main briefing room. In one hand he had been reading a report from Turkey, a potential slayer and her watcher had been brutally slain. In the other another potential in Germany had been found stabbed to death outside a nightclub. Her watcher, well what was left of him was found in his apartment.

“Lydia, it appears the time has finally come.” He said to the tall blonde woman at his side.

“And what would that be sir?”

“What was prophesied many years ago? That there would be an attack against the slayer line, not just one slayer but all the potentials and their watchers.”

“My god, who or what is doing this?” She asked him.

“I don’t know, we need to find out more.” He said. He turned to Phillip. “ Phillip we need to contact Rupert Giles, he will be needed to gather up the some of the potentials and get them to Sunnydale, and we will need Buffy Summers to help protect them.”

“Yes of course sir, I’ll see to it right away.” Phillip said and started to leave the room. He paused a moment and turned back to face Quentin. “What about the other slayer?”

“Ah yes, Faith, I think we need to prepare a contingency plan in case we need her.” He said. “For the moment she is safe in prison.”

“Sir?” Lydia asked.

“Yes my dear.”

“What about Miss Willow Rosenberg, can she be of any help?” She asked him.

“She’s too volatile at the moment, she is no doubt still grieving for the loss of her partner Miss Maclay.” He said. “And after her recent attempt to destroy the world, I think we need to allow her to come to terms with her power and her grief.

She lowered her glasses and fixed him with her gaze. “Sir haven’t you heard?”

“Heard what Lydia?” He asked puzzled.

“Miss Tara Maclay is alive.”

He paused a moment, “A resurrection spell?”

Lydia nodded, she watched as he removed his glasses and laid them on the table. He took a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his brow.

“Did Miss Rosenberg do this?” He said shaking his head. Rupert had told him that she had tried to bring her back just after Tara had been killed. He assumed that she had found another way to bring her back.

“No, I spoke to Mr Giles and he said that the spell to bring her back was not of her doing. Someone else did it, he doesn’t know who at this time.” She told him.

He stood up and turned to Marcus. “Get me the codex volumes of Liberhiem.”

“Yes sir.” Marcus said and left to search the library.

“What is it sir?” Lydia asked him. “Does this have anything to do with the return of Miss Maclay.”

He nodded. “I believe so, and if my memory serves me right, then there is one final piece in our little puzzle, which could help us fight the coming darkness.”

Lydia looked puzzled. “And what is that sir?”

“A potential slayer, she has a destiny.” He said. “She holds the key to unlocking the witches’ power.”

1630 Revello Drive Sunnydale morning.

Downstairs, Willow sat at the kitchen table, she had poured herself some cereal and then emptied the packet into a second bowl and passed the bowl to Tara.

“Dawnie, do you want any wheatie flakes, as I think we just run out of just about everything else.” Willow asked her.

“Ok Willow thanks.” Dawn said. She watched as Willow got up from her seat and as she brushed past Tara she allowed a finger to trace it’s way across her shoulder, causing the blonde Wiccan to smile. She put the packet down and Dawn saw her wince a little with pain. Tara noticed it too.

“Willow honey. You should sit down and rest ok.” Tara said to her, she looked worried.

Willow sat down next to her girlfriend; Dawn watched her and saw Tara gently playing with the edge of Willow’s sleeve, gently caressing the material.

“They are so cute together.” She thought to herself. “Hope Min likes that.”

Dawn wanted to ask so many things about what is was like dating a girl, did this make her gay. But at the moment she was so happy to see Tara alive and back with Willow. She adored them as a couple, they where just so perfect for each other.

“Dawn are you ok there, you look a little deep in thought.” Tara asked her.

Dawn smiled. “Just so happy to see you Tara, and to see you and Willow together its just so cool. I love you two so much.” She beamed.

“Dawnie we love you too.” Tara said.

“Did you have a good evening last night Dawn?” Willow asked her. “I hear you went out to the Bronze.”

Dawn blushed a little; Willow caught it and smiled at Tara giving her a knowing wink.

Taking a deep breath Dawn stood up and looked at the two girlfriends, she thought it was best to tell them as sooner or later they would find out. She had a good feeling that they would understand what she was feeling, Willow more so probably than Tara. “Willow, Tara I kind of have something I have to tell you.”

Willow gave Dawn a reassuring smile and she slid her own hand into Tara’s.

“I have a girlfriend.” Dawn said.

Willow’s smile became a big grin as she heard the news, it wasn’t a surprise to be honest, she and Tara had a feeling that Dawn might fall for a girl for sometime. She and Tara and sensed it months ago, even before Tara had died.

Tara could stop smiling, she looked so happy to hear that Dawn had finally found someone. “So whose the lucky girl?”

“Min.” Dawn said. “So are you both cool with that?”

“Oh god Dawnie, of course we are.” Willow said. “Dawn it doesn’t matter as long as your happy, ok Tara and I are biased and think you are far to pretty for boys anyway.”

Tara giggled at Willow. “She’s right though Dawnie, we are really happy for you.”

“Any what about me, am I not good enough for girls?” A voice came from the dining room. Buffy walked into the kitchen pouting at the two wiccans.

“Awww Poor Buffy.” Willow teased. “Well your pretty, but you always liked the boys though.”

“But I’m still not good enough for the girls.” Buffy said again giving them her best pout.

Willow giggled, and Tara just couldn’t help but smile at her.

“Well if you want to find a nice girlfriend, I am sure we can find one for you?” Willow grinned. “There is Lara from Wicca group or maybe even Nicky.”

Buffy just burst into to giggles. “Tara can you please keep your girlfriend from trying to sort out my love life.” Shaking her head she just looked at her best friend. “Willow I am just so happy to see you smiling again.”

“Thank you.” Willow said. “It’s more than I could have ever dreamed of, I know that with Tara here, and her help, I know I can deal with my fear of using magic again.” She gently touched her girlfriend’s hand, just stroking the backs of Tara’s fingers with her own. “She’s my always.”

“And your mine.” Tara said with total love and warmth in her eyes.

Buffy sighed. “You two carry on, it’s good to see love and romance about, speaking of which, Dawn, any sign of your young lady yet?” Buffy asked her.

“She slept over?” Tara asked surprised.

“In my room, not with Dawn.” Buffy said quickly. “I took the super comfy couch last night.”

They all heard someone coming down the stairs; Dawn stood up and walked towards the dining room. Her eyes lit up as she saw Min enter the room.

“Hey Min, you sleep well.” She asked.

“I did thank you, how are you this morning Dawn?” Min asked her.

“Totally cool, and happier now you’re here, do you want some breakfast? I think Willow and Tara and Buffy are having something.” Dawn said slightly babbling.

Min just smiled; she took a few steps and took Dawn’s hands in her own. She brought herself a little closer to Dawn and kissed her, Dawn felt the magic of the previous night returning, the passion and the desire to be with Min.

“Wow, now that is the best way to say good morning.” Dawn said smiling.

“I find it is the best.” Min said biting her lower lip a little.

“Come on Min, I’ll get you some juice ok.” Dawn said, she led Min into the kitchen, Min say the happy smiles on Tara, Willow and Buffy’s faces as they entered the kitchen.

“Well it’s the other happy couple in the house.” Buffy said. “How are you this morning Min.”

“Great thank you Buffy, Hi Tara, Hi Willow.” Min greeted them.

“Hey Min.” Tara said.

“Hi there.” Willow added. “So you’re the young lady who won over our little Dawnie.”

“I asked her out last night, she said yes and made me the luckiest girl in Sunnydale.” Min beamed; she caught the looks on the two wiccans faces and corrected herself. “Well ok one of the luckiest girls.” She looked at Willow. “How are you feeling, I heard you got hurt last night?”

“I’m healing, after breakfast Tara and I will meditate a little more to help me regrow my skin.” Willow told her.

“Is that what you two call it now?” Buffy smirked at them.

“Buffy.” Willow gasped in mock horror. “Seems someone woke up with a smutty mind this morning.”

Buffy did her best to look innocent. “Hey well what do you expect, I am the single girl here, no one loves Buffy.” She pouted. “Dawn has a girlfriend now, Willow you have Tara, and so I guess that that leaves me playing lemon.” She pouted.

“And Xander.” Tara said. “Don’t forget he and Anya broke up last year.” Tara wrinkled her nose. “How is Anya?”

“Not sure, she is around I guess no doubt off on her little errands for D’Hoffryn” Buffy said shrugging her shoulders.

Tara looked aghast. “Oh my god, she’s a vengeance demon again?”

“Sorry forgot to tell you about that Tara.” Willow apologised.

“Don’t worry; it’s been kind of crazy here, past few days.” Tara said and kissed Willow’s cheek.

Min looked completely surprised and shocked by what was going on. “Sorry, did someone say that Xander is dating a demon woman?” She asked.

“It’s like his thing in life Min; he has a bad habit of dating demon girls or ex demons, or is that ex demons who are demons again.” Willow said, totally in babble mode. “Some days I guess I talk a little insane.”

“I always said quirky.” Tara smiled.

“Hey it’s the return of Willow babbling, god I missed that.” Buffy said teasing her.

Min just laughed. “Ok so Xander dates demon women, anyone else beat that?”

Buffy giggled. “Well I’ve slept with two vampires.”

“I dated a werewolf.” Willow added. “But that was before I knew I was gay.”

“Oh! Min said, she turned to Dawn. “Can you beat that?”

Dawn shook her. “No, but nearly fell for a boy, but he turned out to be a vampire, but least I didn’t date him.”

“How about you Tara?”

Tara shook her head. “Sorry I’ve only dated one person and that is my beautiful Willow.”

Willow smiled and mouthed. “I love you.” At her girlfriend.

Min smiled, she turned to the others who apart from Tara where looking a little red in the cheeks. “So I guess living in Sunnydale has its wacky moments.”

“You have no idea.” Buffy said, hearing the phone ringing she stood up and headed to the lounge to take the call.

“So Willow, a werewolf?” Min asked intrigued by the Wiccans statement.

“Yeah, but he left me, and then I met Tara, he came back for me but by then it was too late, I was had fallen in love with Tara. Least with her I found the real me, I came out and told everyone I was gay a little while after that.” Willow told her. “How about you, ever dated a guy?”

“Oh god no, I’ve always know I was gay, parents are totally cool with it, so everything worked out.” Min said, turning to Dawn she smiled. “Worked out fantastic I think.” She added and kissed Dawn on the lips in full view of the two wiccans.

Willow and Tara sat and watched Min kiss Dawn, they both felt a surge of happiness, Tara still gripping Willow’s hand gave her a gentle loving squeeze.

“Love blossoms.” Tara said softly, she could feel the connection and attraction between Dawn and Min was growing.

Buffy entered the kitchen to see Min and Dawn kissing, she just grinned. “They didn’t waste much time.” She thought to herself. She stood opposite the two wiccans. “I just heard from Giles, he said he has a few things to do and then he is coming back to Sunnydale.”

“That’s great, did he say anything else.” Willow asked her.

“Not exactly, but he said that the watchers council might have some more info about Tara’s resurrection and something to do with a couple of potential slayers. He said they would tell him more about it before he leaves England.”

“Typical watchers council, give you a little bit of information and leave you with more questions.” Willow said frowning. “Men!”

Min broke from her kiss with Dawn, when she heard Buffy mention a potential slayer. “Sorry did you say something about a potential slayer?”

“Yeah, sorry he didn’t have much information; he just said there are a couple of potentials living in Sunnydale.” Buffy told her.

“Well I found one.” Dawn giggled and wrapped her arms around Min.

Min kissed the top of her hair. “I’m kinda glad you did.”

Buffy sighed. “Well looks like I had better find someone fast, to avoid being the lemon here.” She said, and then giggled. “Maybe I need to find a girlfriend too.” She pouted. “Why should you girls have all the fun?”

Willow’s eyes went wide. “Buffy!” She winced a little as she felt the pain in her belly. “Ow.”

Tara immediately put her arm on Willow’s shoulder, a look of concern in her eyes. “Willow, I think you’d better rest, come on I’ll take you back to bed, and we can meditate.”

Buffy looked at her best friend. “I think Tara’s right; you do look a little pale.”

Willow nodded. “Ok.” She stood up and Buffy felt a pang of sympathy for her as she saw that Willow winced again as she did so. Tara moved and put her arm around Willow supporting her.

“Don’t worry a day or so of healing and I’ll be ok.” Willow said reassuring everyone.

“She’ll be ok Buffy.” Tara said. “I’ll take good care of her.”

“I know.” Buffy said.

Tara led Willow slowly out of the kitchen and back up the stairs to their room. Leaving Min, Dawn and Buffy in the kitchen.

“Poor Willow.” Dawn said. “I hope she feels better soon.”

“She’ll be ok.” Buffy said. “Least Tara is there for her, god it’s just so amazing having her back.”

“Who Willow or Tara?” Dawn asked.

“Tara, still getting used to seeing her alive again, I don’t know who or what brought her back, but who ever did has mended Willow’s heart.” Buffy answered.

“I know, I was the one that found her body, I’m just glad she’s here.” Dawn said smiling.

“That must have been hard?” Min said, she saw the puzzled look on Dawn’s face. “Finding her body.”

Dawn nodded. “Tara was a close friend, and yes it hurt badly, but it’s all better now, everything is better now.” She smiled at her girlfriend. “Tara’s alive and with Willow, I have a girlfriend see all better now.”

“Oh god, are you two going to start smooching again?” Buffy teased.

Buffy thought it best to leave the two girls alone for a while, she left the kitchen and walked into the lounge, just as soon as she had reached the hall, and she stopped and faced the kitchen. “Have fun making the breakfast.”

“Buffy!” She heard Dawn shout.

Next update done

UCL Sunnydale.

The battered old van drew up outside the UCL Sunnydale Campus and stopped, the engine continued running for a few moments then went silent. The driver’s door opened and a young man got out. Stretching himself for a moment he looked towards the campus, wondering if his ex was still there.

He ran his hand through his ruffled hair, locking the van door he started walking towards the front entrance. He found his way to the old dorm that he thought that she might still live in. 214 Stevenson Hall. Knocking on the door he waited for a moment. He heard footsteps, and the door opened to a young woman.

“Oh hey, sorry I was looking for someone else.” He said apologising.

“Sorry who where you looking for?”

“Willow Rosenberg or Buffy Summers, they used to live here.” He said.

“Sorry Willow moved out last year, last I heard someone say she was in England, following the death of her girlfriend.” The girl told him. “I don’t know Buffy though sorry.”

“Ok, thanks, sorry to bother you.” He said. The door closed and he was left alone again in the corridor.

“I know where to go.” He said, leaving the hall he walked back to the van.

1630 Revello Drive

“Goddess that was amazing.” Breathed Willow. She released Tara’s hand and sat back onto the pillow.

“Are you feeling any better now?” Tara asked her.

“Oh god much.” Willow said smiling. She pulled up her top to see the fading scars where the demon had sliced her belly open. “Wow they the scars are fading fast. Tara sweetie, your healing power helped, thank you.”

“We did it, together.” Tara said. “Is there still pain there?”

“It’s a little sore, but the burning pain is gone I feel so much better.” Sitting up she pulled Tara towards her and wrapped her arms tight around her lover’s waist.

“Tara sweetie, I know things have been a little weird lately with you know, you dying, me going evil, then you coming back to me.” She started to babble. “Tara I love you so much, I couldn’t bear to be away from you again. I need you Tara, you’re my girl always and forever. I love you.” She paused a moment, then looking straight into the blue eyes of her girlfriend she repeated the words, giving her everything, her heart and soul, mind and body. “Tara I love you.”

Tara just smiled lovingly at her girlfriend, she just held Willow close to her just wanting to be so near her lover. She didn’t want any moment of her life now without Willow, she kissed her firmly on the lips giving into the moment, just sharing the magic and the passion as they kissed.

“Oh goddess.” Tara Whispered. “Willow I love you too, I love you so much.”

Willow softly stroked Tara’s cheek softly brushing a few strands of her soft blonde hair away from her eyes. “Tara?”

“Yes my sweet Willow.”

“Marry me.” Willow said. “I love you so much, I want you to be my wife. Please marry me.” She said a tear rolling down her cheek.

Tara responded by kissing her again, pulling away she gazed into Willow’s pale green eyes. “Willow.”

“Yes.” Said Willow a hopeful look in her eyes.

“Of course I’ll marry you.” Tara said, her smile breaking into a huge loving grin.

Willow felt in an instant that even with the coming darkness, and the memories of her own trip into the dark side of magic, she knew that there was hope. The months of loneliness, the pain and anguish of losing her soulmate where fading. She still felt the pain of what she did to Warren and Rack, and she knew it was something she would have to live with for the rest of her life.

Her lover Tara had given her that hope; given her another chance and she had promised to help her deal with the magics and the pain. Willow looked deep into her girlfriend’s eyes and saw nothing but love, a love only for her. “As long as I have you with me Tara, I know I’m going to be ok.” She whispered softly. “My sweet Tara.”

Tara pulled Willow close again, she kissed her softly on the forehead and then gazed into her green eyes. “You’ll always have me Willow, I promise, my beautiful sweet Willow.”

Downstairs.

Buffy sat on the sofa just watching the television; it was one of the usual Saturday morning cartoons that she and Dawn used to enjoy as children. Glancing back to the kitchen she wondered if Min and Dawn where still making with the smooching, or had they finally decided to eat something.

Looking towards the stairs she imagined that Tara was still helping to heal Willow’s wounds, and knowing Tara as she did, that meant the physical wounds and her mental wounds. She sighed; Tara to her had always been a close friend, a comforter. She was always willing to listen and never judged anyone. “Welcome home Tara.” She said quietly to herself.

Here thoughts where interrupted by the phone ringing, she stood up went to the desk and picked up the handset. “Hello.”

“Buffy is that you?” She heard Xander on the other end of the line.

“Hey Xander, what’s up?” She said cheerfully.

“You’d better meet me at the High School.” He said to her, Buffy could tell he was nervous about something.

“Xander what’s wrong, and hello it’s a Saturday, so school not in session ok?”

“Buffy, it’s Spike.”

“Spike, what about Spike.” She said coldly, the memory of the man she thought she loved, until he tried to rape her in her own bathroom. That thought alone sent a shiver down her spine.

“He’s here at the High School; I was working down in the basement, working with my crew repairing the girl’s toilets, after you know the incident with the zombies.” He told her.

“Go on.”

“Well I saw Spike, he’s down here and he seems a little crazier than usual. Going on about ghosts or something, voices in his head.” He paused for a moment. “Anyway I think you had better get down here, he mentioned from beneath you it devours.”

Buffy eyes went wide; she had heard Giles, Willow and Dawn mention that sentence. “Ok, I’ll be there soon.”

She hung up the phone and realised she was shaking; something was coming, something bad. She could feel it crawling all over her for a moment. Shaking herself she took a deep breath and walked into the dining hall to see Min and Dawn eating breakfast.

“Hey Buffy.” Dawn said brightly, then seeing the look on her sister’s face. “Buffy is everything ok, you look a little pale?”

Buffy tried to smile. “Don’t worry Dawn, it’s nothing I can’t handle, I just have to pop out for a little while.”

“Are you sure?” Dawn asked her again.

“Yeah its fine don’t worry, besides you two girls have fun today. Any plans?” She asked.

“Shopping, I thought about showing Min some of the nicer parts of Sunnydale.” Dawn smiled.

“Nice parts of Sunnydale, which should take about ten minutes then.” Buffy giggled, then seeing the look on Min’s face she quickly added. “Just kidding.”

She turned to hear a knock at the door, shaking her head. “It’s Saturday, all I wanted was some peace and quiet.” She said quietly to herself.

She opened the door to a face she didn’t think she would ever see again, not after what happened nearly 3 years ago. He had barely changed in appearance.

“Hey.” He said.

“Hello Oz.”

Buffy stared at him for a moment, a few thoughts running through her mind. Was Oz back to try and win over Willow, possibly hearing that Tara was dead so he had come back to see if he could get back with her again. Or was he here for another reason, maybe even to help.

“Long time no see.” She said curtly.

“Yeah it has been a while.” He said, he could see the look of suspicion in her eyes, and he guessed that she was trying to protect Willow. He stood awkwardly for a moment, not sure of what to say. “How are things?”

“It’s been a little wacky of late.” Buffy admitted. “I can’t stop long as I need to get to the High School.”

“I thought we destroyed that?” Oz said.

“Xander and his people rebuilt it, done a good job accept for the Hellmouth still acting up.” Buffy told him.

“Buffy, just one thing, how is Willow?” He asked her.

Buffy knew he would ask about his former girlfriend at some point, it was only natural. “She’s fine, she recovering at the moment.” She said.

“Sorry, I went looking for you both at the college, but I was told she was in England, something about her girlfriend Tara being killed.” He said.

“You heard wrong, she was in England for a time, but she is back now, Tara is very much alive, and they are happy together.” She said to him, making sure he understood that Willow was still with Tara.

Oz caught that. “Don’t worry, I wasn’t back in town to try and rekindle things with Willow, she’s gay I know that. I have a wife so don’t worry. I am not going to hurt Willow or Tara or try to break them up.”

“I’m glad to hear that, wait sorry did you say you had a wife? You got married?” Buffy asked surprised and a little relieved too.

“Yeah.” Oz nodded.

Buffy managed a smile, she felt a little guilty at her words, but she had to protect her best friend. “Sorry Oz, it’s just been a wacky week.”

“It’s ok.” He returned the smile.

They both heard the footsteps coming down the stairs, Buffy turned to see Willow and Tara hand in hand walking down the stairs. “Bad timing.” She thought to herself.

“Hey Buffy, guess what?” Willow said grinning away.

“Willow, you look a lot better, what have you two been up to, no on second thoughts I don’t want to know.” Buffy giggled, forgetting that Oz was standing in the doorway just out of sight of the two wiccans.

“Tara and I did a healing spell; I’m feeling so much better.” Willow told her happily. “Tara and I have some news too, we thought you should know.”

She saw the door was open, and Buffy had obviously been talking to someone. She took a few steps and stopped, recognising her ex boyfriend.

Tara froze on the spot as she saw him, her eyes went wide as she remembered the last time she met him, she felt Willow’s hand grip her own a little harder.

“Oz.” Willow said.

“Hey Willow, Hi Tara.” He said.

“What are you doing here?” Willow asked him as she folded her arms across her chest.

Oz looked a little hurt. “Willow, please don’t worry ok, I am not here to cause trouble.” He could see Willow moving herself in front of Tara to shield her from him.

He looked at the two girls for a moment, he could sense their fear, but overriding that he could sense Willow’s deep love for the blonde girl behind her. He had come to terms with it knowing that Willow was happy with her, and that was all that mattered.

“Willow, please I came back to start up again at college, and to just say hello, that’s all.” Oz tried to reassure her.

Willow looked at her former lover; he had barely changed in the three years since she saw him drive off, after she had told him that she had fallen in love with Tara. She saw his left hand and the small band of gold on his wedding finger. “You’re married?” She asked him.

“Yeah just a little while ago.” He said smiling. “Glad to see your happy Willow.”

Willow smiled at him. “Thank you, what’s her name?”

“Sarah, we met in New York, when I was playing with my new band, she is the drummer.” He said proudly. “We fell in love.”

“Oz, I’m really happy for you.” Willow said.

He smiled and turned to Willow’s girlfriend. “Tara, don’t think I ever got a chance to say sorry to you. Sorry. He paused for a moment.

Tara managed a little smile. “It’s ok thank you.”

Willow still held onto her hand, she remembered that Oz had wolfed out in broad daylight and might have killed Tara if it hadn’t have been for Riley and the initiative. Yet despite Oz nearly killing her, Tara feared for him and told her that he had been captured. Her selfless act had shown her how much Tara cared about her. Risking even losing her to Oz, to Willow it showed just how pure and good Tara’s heart was, all Tara had wanted was Willow to be happy, and from that moment she knew Tara was the only one for her.

Willow just watched him, she didn’t sense any anger in Oz, but she still wanted to protect Tara.

Tara stood there, feeling the fear coming from Willow, she calmed herself and with her other hand gently placed it on Willow’s shoulder to reassure her. “Willow it’s ok.”

Willow relaxed at her girlfriends touch, how was it that every time Tara touched her, everything felt so much better. She loved that about her, Tara could always make her feel happy and relaxed.

Even being this close to the only man she once loved, all she could think of was her girlfriend. Oz meant something to her once, but now he was just someone she knew. A friend maybe, Tara was her world now, and nothing was going to tear her away from her again.

“Willow.” Tara whispered to her. “Are you ok honey.”

“I am.” Willow said, feeling her girlfriends love in her voice. “I’m with you Tara.”

Tara too relaxed, she felt her girlfriend calming down at her touch.

Oz, took this in, the connection and the love between the two girls was powerful. He was glad for Willow that she had Tara, he finally understood why Willow had chosen her over him. He felt a sense of calm and he smiled, Tara was Willow’s true soulmate, her everything. He looked into Tara’s blue eyes. “Promise me one thing Tara?”

She gave a half smile, not sure of what to expect. “Um ok.” She said nervously.

“Take care of your girl ok?” He said.

Tara just smiled. “I always will.”

Buffy felt a little relieved, the tension that had filled the hall was easing a little, remembering the happy tone in Willow’s voice before she saw Oz again, and she spoke. “So come on Will, what’s the big news.”

Willow too felt the tension ease, Oz said that she was Tara’s girl; she broke into a big grin and wrapped an arm around Tara’s waist. Buffy watched Oz’s reaction at Willow’s public display of affection towards her lover. He just smiled; Buffy again felt a sigh of relief.

“Tara and I are engaged.” Willow said beaming.

“Really?” Buffy said thrilled at the news.

“Yes really.” Tara said. “After everything that’s happened to us of late, I can’t bear to be without her.”

Buffy, Oz, Willow and Tara all jumped as they heard a huge yell of joy coming from the dining room. Moments later Dawn appeared with Min close behind.

“Oh my god, you guys.” Dawn said, totally excited. “I so love you guys.” She threw her arms around the two wiccans, hugging them both tightly.

Min folded her arms and giggled, in the short time she had known Dawn she had no idea she was that excitable.

“Ok oxygen becoming a serious issue.” They all heard Willow say, Dawn’s enthusiastic embrace was getting a little too much for the redhead.

“Sorry. I’m just so happy for you both.” Dawn beamed. “Can I be a bridesmaid?”

Willow just giggled. “Little early for worrying about that, but I think we can put you on the list.”

“Yippee.” Dawn said giggling.

Buffy embraced them both wiccans, although a little softer than her sister had done. “I’m so glad for the pair of you, I really am.”

She kissed Willow and Tara on their cheeks, she was thrilled they had taken this step they needed each other more than anything. “Sorry for bailing on you guys, but kinda have an emergency at the High School. Dawn have you seen my car keys?”

“I’ll take you.” Oz offered. “My van is parked outside; I can pass by the school on my way to pick up Sarah.”

“Thanks Oz.” Buffy said, she put her coat on and waited for Oz.

“Good you see you again Willow, you too Tara.” He said. “I’m really happy for you both, congratulations on the engagement.”

“Thanks Oz.” Willow said, both she and Tara gave him warm smiles.

“Nice to see you again Dawn, and sorry I don’t know you.” Oz said, looking at the new girl standing by Dawn.

“Min.” She answered. “I’m Dawn’s girlfriend.”

Oz said nothing just raised an eyebrow, he had to admit for the men of Sunnydale, dating prospects where looking bleak. He turned to Buffy. “We’d better go.”

Tara stepped forward. “Don’t be a stranger ok.” She said boldly.

He just smiled, turning away he left the house and Buffy followed him and closed the door behind her. Dawn turned to Willow, who was still holding Tara’s hand.

“Are you ok Willow?” She asked her.

Willow just smiled, she looked at Dawn then at Tara. She pulled Tara close and kissed her firmly on the lips, holding her lover tight to her body.

“I am now.” Willow said. “Are you ok Tara?”

Tara nodded. “Yes, I am Willow.”

“All I could think of when I saw him was just how much I love you Tara.” Willow said. “Tara, goddess I love you so much.”

“I know, I love you too my Willow.” Tara said, brushing a few wispy strands of Willows hair away from her face.

“Who was that?” Min asked.

“A guy I dated long time ago, before I met Tara and before I found out I was you know, gay.” Willow said.

“The werewolf?”

Willow nodded. “Old history now.” She said. Wrapping both of her arms around Tara’s waist she kissed her again passionately on the lips. “You’re my future Tara, you’re all I need.” She said her eyes filled with love for the blonde Wiccan.

“Willow my sweetie, I’m only for you.” Tara said returning the loving gaze.

Willow winked at her and took Tara’s hand, she led her to the stairs, and they slowly walked up the stairs heading towards their room. Dawn could tell by the naughty gleam in the redhead’s eyes that she and Tara where off for a little of what Willow had once said. “The hot girl on girl action.”

Dawn grinned, as she watched the two girls disappeared up the stairs, she turned to Min. Who had a knowing grin on her face, Dawn tried to remember her best Tara impression, recalling Tara’s explanation for Spike having the Buffybot a while ago.

“Maybe their going to play chess.” She said looking nervously at her girlfriend.

Min just giggled. “I’m sure, the naked kind that involves lots of heavy breathing and moans.”

Dawn frowned. “That wasn’t very convincing was it?”

“Nope.” Min laughed.

Min grasped Dawn’s hand and spun her into her own arms. She looked deep into the girlfriend’s hazel eyes and smiled. She kissed Dawn on the lips, Dawn wrapped her own arms around Min and responded by returning the kiss with a passion.

“So Miss Dawn, want to go shopping, or do you want to stay here and listen to those two playing chess.” Min giggled.

“Lets go shopping, I think they need some alone time.” Dawn said smiling.

“I like that plan.” Min said and kissed her again on the lips firmly.

***

Buffy sat in the passenger seat of the van; she was pretty amazed to see that he had still kept it going, it was old battered and was in dire need of repair. She and Oz had not said much since they left the house, but she decided to try and spark up a conversation.

“Oz?” She asked him.

“Yeah.”

“Thanks for taking me to the high school, I’m grateful.” She said.

“No problem.” He said in his usual short but polite manner. “Buffy, I’m glad Willow is ok, I know she is very happy with Tara.”

“They are very much in love, more so now, since Tara’s return.” Buffy said, and instantly regretted her choice of words.

“Return?” He asked her.

“Yeah, it’s complicated; Tara died, Willow lost control of her magic and came close to destroying the world, in her grief. Xander saved her, she went to England to seek help, she came back to find out Tara had been brought back to life.” Buffy said. “That’s the short version anyway.”

“Wait a minute, brought back?” He asked, concerned. “If you ask me that sound a little dangerous is she a vampire.”

“No Tara is human, she is the same Tara we know, and she is just back from the dead.” Buffy then giggled. “Kinda know how she feels too.” Sensing Oz’s confusion. “I died too, but was brought back.”

“Sunnydale is still the center of all things bizarre.” He commented. “This place never changes.”

“Oz, Tara is devoted to Willow, she loves her more than anything, and all we know about her resurrection is that it was routed in light, not darkness.” Buffy explained to him.

He nodded. “Ok, thanks, least I know she is safe.”

Buffy decided to change the subject. “So how long have you been married?” She asked him.

“Sarah and I married about two months ago.” Oz said, he brightened up at the mention of his wife.

“Cool and she’s here in Sunnydale?” Buffy asked him.

“Yes, I left her shopping, thought I would at least say hello.” Oz told her.

“I’m glad.” Buffy said.

“I love her.” He said.

Buffy felt a warm happy feeling for him, but she felt a little guilty as at least with Oz married, he wouldn’t be trying to upset Willow and Tara. This was a good thing as the past year had seen enough pain for the two girls.

Oz could tell Buffy was being very protective towards Willow and her girlfriend, he could understand it in a way. He then thought back to a comment Buffy had mentioned earlier.

“Buffy did you say Willow nearly destroyed the world?”

“Yup.” She nodded,

“Pretty intense.” He admitted.

“That was after she flayed the guy who shot Tara.” Buffy told him, she thought it best not to mention Glory who attacked Tara and Willow had actually hurt the hellgod in revenge.

Oz always remembered Willow as a sweet natured very gentle girl. She was bright fun and rarely bad tempered. To hear she had flayed a guy then nearly ended everything was a total surprise.

Buffy could tell he was shocked at the revelation that Willow had a dark side and a very dangerous one at that. But now Tara was there, perhaps she could help bring back the old Willow everyone knew. Already in the past couple of days, Willow was starting to return to the girl they all loved and adored.

The van pulled up outside the high school, Oz looked at the new building and he had to admit it looked impressive.

“Xander did a good job.” He remarked.

“Yeah he seems pretty settled in his career.” Buffy said, she faced Oz. “Thanks for the lift Oz, I’m very grateful.”

“Anytime.” He smiled.

“Oz, once you and Sarah get settled, you should drop by.” Buffy suggested.

He smiled. “We will thanks.” He paused and then spoke again. “Buffy, I really am pleased for Willow, Tara’s is her soulmate I really do wish them the very best, they belong together.”

“Thank you, it means a lot.” Buffy said giving him a warm smile.

Buffy opened the door and stepped onto the sidewalk, as she closed the door he gave her a nod and a little smile. He started the van back up and slowly drove off.

Oz was glad to see Willow was happy, he still missed her a little, but he knew she belonged to Tara, nothing could ever change that. He wasn’t sure about rejoining the old scooby gang as yet, but maybe in time. He saw the clock on the dashboard. “Better pick Sarah up.” He said to himself. “Hope she hasn’t bought half the town.”

Buffy watched him drive off heading in the direction of the town center; it was nice to see him, although a part of her still felt bitter about the way he had left Willow. She did think though that things had worked out for the best, as soon after she met Tara, and ever since Willow had met Tara, Willow had blossomed.

Taking a deep breath she walked up the steps and found her way to the main entrance where Xander had been waiting for her.

“Sorry I’m late, we had an old friend pop by for a visit.” Buffy said. “Oz.”

“Oz, really?” Xander said with surprise. “When did he get back, oh god is he here for Willow?”

“No, he’s married now, and to be honest I kind of hinted that Willow tends to get a little cranky if anyone hurts Tara.” Buffy said.

“Buffy, hinted? Or was that gave him the full low down about flaying and end of the world?”

Buffy went a little red with embarrassment. “Ok I let him know she gets really cranky. Was that a little over the top?”

Xander laughed. “Sometimes Buffy you’re as subtle as Anya.”

“Hey.” Buffy pouted. Her face then showed a serious side as she remembering why they where at the high school on a Saturday morning. “So where is he?”

Xander took a deep breath; he knew this would be hard for Buffy, but she need to see him. He had never seen Spike like this before, rambling and going on about ghosts. Something was up, and he knew the only one who might be able to figure it out was the slayer.

“This way.” He said.

They made their way down the stairs and into the poorly lit basement, water dripped from the pipes onto the floor. The sound echoed off the close walls. The whole place was creepy, and to think this was where Dawn and Min had fought for their lives only a few days ago.

She turned the corner to see the man who had once made her life hell, who she had sought comfort in when she was brought back from the dead, and then the man who tried to rape her in her bathroom.

“Spike.” She whispered quietly.

He was sitting on floor his head was in his hands and he was rocking back and forth. Buffy couldn’t quite hear what he was saying so she took a few steps forward.

“It’s coming, I can feel it, crawling in my skin oh god it burns me, why does it do this to me.” He said muttering to himself. “I hurt the girl, I’m a bad man, William you’re a bad man, cos I hurt the girl.”

Buffy approached him and knelt down in front of Spike; he still was ignoring her and just kept talking to himself. She had never seen him like this, he seemed different.

“Spike.” She said, there was no acknowledgement of her presence so she spoke again a little louder. “Spike.”

In an instant he stopped and looked up into Buffy’s eyes, a few tears running down his cheeks. “Oh god, the ghost, your not real, your not here.”

Buffy reached out and touched his shoulder. “I’m real.”

He cowered and hid his head in his arms. “No, god no, William you’re a bad evil man, you hurt the girl.”

“Spike, stop this.” Buffy said again. “What is going on? What happened to you?”

“Nothing, I know nothing, I’m not here, your not here.” He said.

“What is wrong with you?” She said again, this time gripping his shoulders. “My god what is wrong with you, snap out of this Spike.”

“Shall I hit him?” Offered Xander. “That always works in the movies.”

“Xander, I don’t think that is going to help.” Buffy glared at him. She turned to Spike and then slapped him across the face; Spike looked up shocked, he was too stunned to hit her back.

“Hey, I thought you said it wouldn’t help.” Xander protested.

“I changed my mind.” Buffy said. “Slayers prerogative.”

Xander rolled his eyes and shook his head. “Come on Buffy, I don’t think we are going to learn anything from him.”

“Xander wait.” Buffy said, she turned to Spike, who had pulled his shirt back to reveal a series of cuts across his chest. Her eyes went wide with shock. “Oh my god, what did you do?” She reached out to touch the scars.

“Hey, hey, hey! No touching. Am I flesh? Am I flesh to you? Feed on flesh. My flesh. Nothing else. Not a spark.”

“What do you mean?” She asked him. “Spike tell me?”

Spike looked at her, he was struggling to form the words, he just stared at her, finally he spoke. “I needed the spark, the spark for the engine.”

Buffy shook her head, something was wrong here, he was acting completely crazy. “Spike, have you completely lost your mind?”

“Well yeah, where have you been huh?” He said dryly. “I had to go try Buffy, to find it, put the spark back. I did it though, got my spark back. Angel should have warned me though, I tried to cut it out, it stings me, hurts and burns me, I did this for you.” He said.

Buffy let go of him and stumbled back. “Oh my god.”

“Buffy what?” Xander asked.

“Spike, I think he has a soul.” She said, her voice trembling.

Spike shrugged his shoulders and looked into Buffy’s eyes, trying to see what was going on in her mind. “Bit worse for lack of use.”

“Oh dear god.” Xander said. “You have to be kidding me.”

“I did it for you.” Spike told her. “It’s what you wanted wasn’t it?”

***

A Prison, not far from LA.

“Come on, girl. Over here, over here.” Shouted one of the women, they where playing basketball in the prison yard.

The main door into the yard opened as Faith walked out taking in a few breaths of the clean air. She liked to be outside, it gave her a chance to work out some of her frustration at being stuck in prison. She walked over the place where the gym had been set up. Looking around she went over to the bars and began to work out. Doing her pull up’s with total ease, she felt herself relax.

Behind her she didn’t see an older woman, with short hair slide a knife from out under her shirt and approach the dark haired slayer. She raised the sharp blade and prepared herself to stab Faith.

In an instant Faith sensed the danger, she turned herself around and kicked her in the face sending her crashing to the ground. Pulling herself up she flipped forward and landed on her feet. The woman was reaching for her knife again.

“Ok, you got my attention. What's your beef, Deb? You really ought to think twice” She watched as Deb grabbed the knife stood up and swung at her. Faith easily dodged the swipe and pushed her away. “Or not.”

Deb, just glared at Faith with hatred. “Nothing personal, I need the money.” She said trying again to thrust the blade into Faith.

Faith grabbed a bell bar which had huge weights on either end, she drove it straight into Debs face, smashing her nose and sending the woman onto the ground hard.

“For a nose job?” She said sarcastically.

A prison guard who had seen what was happening rushed towards them. “ok, Come on, come on.”

Faith saw the guard approach, she dropped the barbell to the ground and raised her hands. “Hey, hey, self defence. She attacked me, Eddie.”

Eddie nodded. “Yeah, I saw the whole thing.” He turned to his colleague and pointed at Deb who was lying on the ground holding her broken nose. “Get her to the infirmary.”

Faith glared at him. “Wait, you saw?” She said, a tone of anger in her voice.

Eddie backed up a little. “Hey, caught us by surprise. I mean, who'd be crazy enough to try to take you out?” He said staring at the knife that Deb had tried to kill Faith with.

Faith looked at the knife, it was curved and had markings along the blade, she had never seen one like it before. “Yeah who would be crazy enough.” She said quietly.

She turned away and picked up the bar bell she had used against Deb, placing it on the holder set into the bench she went back to the bar to continue her pull ups. She could feel the other women in the prison staring at her, mostly with fear in their eyes.

“I wonder what the hell that was all about.” She thought to herself.

1540 Revello Drive.

Pia glanced at her watch, it was early in the afternoon and she and her girlfriend had not long woken up. They had overslept following a night of passionate lovemaking, an attempt to shower and change before setting off had soon turned into more lovemaking.

“Jodie sweetheart are you ok up there?” Pia called out.

“I’m fine honey, be down in a couple of minutes.” Jodie replied.

Pia sat down on the sofa and stretched out her slender legs, she was feeling so much better than a few days ago. She had a tendency to worry to much, but things where looking up now.

Willow was back with Tara, the reunion of the two wiccans would be a big help in fighting the coming darkness. Now all they needed where two more people to join forces with Buffy and her friends. A potential slayer and the former rogue slayer. Pia still worried though, how would they find the potential, and could they get Faith to help them.

Pia barely heard her girlfriend coming down the stairs; Jodie saw that her lover was deep in thought again. She sighed and the walked up to her, she knelt down in front of her girlfriend and took both her hands.

“Pia sweetheart, what’s up honey?” She said softly.

“Just thinking about Faith, hope she is willing to help us, and help Buffy.” Pia said quietly.

“She will.” Jodie reassured her. “I promise.”

Pia smiled. “I still worry though.”

Jodie pulled Pia up from the sofa and into her arms. “Pia my sweet, you always worry, but believe me we can do this.”

“I know, once we get Faith you know they will come for us as well don’t you?” Pia said.

Jodie nodded. “I know, we will go to Buffy and ask for her help, hopefully she can help us.”

“I hope so.” Pia said her face a little sad.

“Pia I know you two have history, but please don’t worry ok.” Jodie reassured her. “How long has it been?”

“Long time, we broke up just before she became the slayer.” Pia said. “We didn’t go out for that long so I am sure she won’t remember me.”

“So please don’t worry, she will be ok, and she can help us and help Buffy too.” Jodie said.

“We can help her as well, we have a little power, nothing like Willow or Tara, but we can help them.” Pia said.

“We will, Pia it is going to be hard but we have a chance to stop this evil once and for all.” Jodie smiled warmly, she kissed her girlfriend on the forehead and then on her lips.

“I love you.” Pia told her.

Jodie kissed her again. “I love you too.”

Pia suddenly smiled, she turned her head to look out the window to see two people just standing outside holding hands just sitting on the step outside the house. Jodie saw them to and she couldn’t help feel that things where getting better.

“They look good together don’t they?” Pia said.

Jodie watched them for a moment. “They look perfect together, the prophecy is coming true.”

“It is.” Pia whispered. “Things are going the way they should now, I can feel it.”

“Lets go rescue a slayer.” Jodie said. “We can then finally introduce ourselves to Buffy, Willow and Tara. Do you have the ingredients for the spell?”

“Yes I do, ok, let’s do it.” Pia said. “I am looking forward to seeing Tara again.”

1630 Revello Drive

Willow sat outside the house, Tara next to her. They had spent most of the morning making love; it had been the first time since Tara’s return that they had made love. Willow felt completely at peace for the first time in months. Her union with Tara had gone a long way to healing her heart. They just sat there enjoying the warm sunshine and feeling the breeze on their faces.

Tara too felt complete for the first time since finding out she had died and been resurrected. She still wasn’t sure who had brought her back, but Giles and the coven in England assured her that it was not an evil spell. All she knew is she was happy, she was with Willow and that was all that mattered.

She felt that Willow still had some healing to do, but she would be there for her, to hold her and take care of her. She could feel the darkness that still lay buried with Willow, but every moment that she shared with the redhead, Tara could feel the darkness slipping away and Willow’s soul healing.

“I love you.” Tara whispered softly in her girlfriend’s ear.

Willow rested her head on Tara’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of her girlfriend’s body. “I love you too Tara.”

Tara turned her head slightly and kissed the soft red hair of her lover, she rested her head against Willow’s and they just watched the world around them go by.

“This is so nice; life is so much more peaceful like this.” Willow said quietly. She could feel the gentle wind blowing a few strands of her hair; it felt fresh against her skin.

“I know, I could stay like this for hours, just here with you.” Tara said, her mind calm, she felt so relaxed. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath and slowly breathing out again.

Willow moved her head and rested it against Tara’s chest, just listening to her girlfriends heart beat. “Thump thump, thump thump.” She said softly. “It’s a beautiful sound.”

Tara slid her arm around Willow’s waist, just holding her girlfriend close to her body, she smiled at her girlfriend. “You can hear it beating?”

“Yup.”

“It beats only for you my Willow.” Tara said. “Always for you.”

Willow felt a tear welling up in her eye, somehow Tara always knew the right words to say to make her feel better. She smiled as she felt the tear run down the soft skin of her cheek. She wiped the tear from her face, and then rested her hand back on Tara’s knee.

“Willow, are you ok sweetie?” Tara asked her.

“I’m fine Tara, just so happy to have you here with me.” She answered, her voice almost a whisper.

They watched as the door to the house opposite opened and two young women stepped outside, closed the door behind them and started walking to their car.

Willow noticed that they where holding hands. “Hey Tara, didn’t notice that Sunnydale had another lesbian couple. They must have moved in recently.”

“Don’t tell Xander, I don’t think he could handle it with the lesbian overload around here.” Tara grinned. “First us, then Dawn, and now those two.”

Willow laughed. “Well let’s set Buffy up and really give him nightmares.”

Tara burst into giggles. “I think maybe we should.”

They watched as the two girls got into their car and started it up, Tara felt one of the girl’s glance at her and she felt a feeling that she knew the girl from somewhere. The car drove off before Tara could get a good look at the girl’s face. She let it go, perhaps she could find out who she was later on. For now she was happy and contented to be close to her girlfriend.

“Tara, do you think Buffy will be long?” Willow asked her.

“I don’t know, why?” Tara asked puzzled at her question.

Willow sat up and looked into her girlfriend’s eyes. “Well we have the house to ourselves.” She said giving the blonde a knowing glance.

Tara grinned. “Vixen.”

V. nice. The plot is really picking up speed now. I love how you're working the various characters intot he story. Am I correct in assuming that Faith and Buffy are going to end up getting together? (Cause that's always kinda hot) ;-)

I changed how to introduce Faith and i want her to be in the story earlier as she's important to the plot. She and "Someone" will hook up eventually but not without some angst.

The most important couple are Willow/Tara and you will see that Pia and Jodie have a role to play to, mostly Pia

Glad you like it so far, there is a lot still to come before you catch up to where i have written up to

Ok next part tweaked and posted.

Later in the day, Sunnydale town center.

“Oh my god, did you see that dress?” Dawn said grinning. “It’s so beautiful Min. You would look so stunning in that.”

Min laughed; she had never seen Dawn so excited, although she admitted they hadn’t really known each other for very long. For someone who was only a day into her first lesbian relationship, she was surprisingly open. Min was happy about that, her last girlfriend was terrified of showing affection in public, and it had led to their break-up in the end.

“It does look good, but do you really think it would suit me?” Min said smiling. “I’m more of a jeans girl than a dress girl.”

Dawn cocked her head to one side. “I think you would still look pretty sexy in a dress, although you do look hot in jeans.”

Min took Dawn’s hand and pulled her close. “Dawn, how about we find you a cute dress.”

“We could do, and we could go for coffee.” She paused remember that Min seemed to be more into drinking tea than coffee. “Or maybe Tea.”

“Tea sounds good.” Min said. “Are there many places in town that do a good tea?”

“Expresso pump is not the most ideal place, but they do Tea. It’s a favourite haunt of Willow, Tara and me.” Dawn told her. “It’s not to far either.”

“Ok cool lets go, we can finish finding a nice dress for you later.” Min said.

“Or maybe you.” Dawn suggested. “I still think you would look cute in one.”

They started walking in the direction of the expresso pump, it wasn’t too far. They didn’t get far when a familiar face from the high school stepped out in front of them.

“Hey Dawn.” He said.

“Richard.” She said curtly. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him. “What are you doing here?”

He looked at Min and then back at Dawn, he saw that the two girls where holding hands. “Well looking for you actually.”

“What for, I told you yesterday I wasn’t interested.” Dawn told him. “So leave me alone ok.”

He guessed it now. “Oh god, you’re with her?” He shouted pointing at Min. “Dawn, you can’t date her she’s a girl the same as you.”

Dawn stood up on her heels in front of him. “Ever heard of lesbians, you doofus?”

“Dawn you can’t do this, not to me, not to any guy.” He protested.

“What is you’re problem Richard, just stay the hell away from me.” She said, confronting him.

“No way, I’m going to make you mine Dawn.” He said.

Min had enough; she stepped in front of him and fixed him with her deep brown eyes. The look in her eyes was enough to send a shiver down his spine. “Back off loser, leave her alone.”

He reached out and grabbed Min’s arm. “Don’t interfere little girl.”

Dawn caught the look on her girlfriend’s face, Min was just glaring at him and then she broke into a smile.

With a lightening fast move, Min released Dawn’s hand and then in a blur she grabbed his arm and twisted it to the ground. He fell to the ground. “Hey goddamn it you bitch.”

Min just glared at him. “Leave us alone, or next time you threaten my girlfriend, I will break your arm.”

Richard picked himself up and stared at the young Asian girl, he saw she wasn’t joking. He glared at her for a moment then ran off cursing, more embarrassed than anything.

“Wow Min, you don’t pull punches do you?” Dawn said.

Min took Dawn’s hand; she faced her and stared into her eyes. “Neither do you that was impressive.” Min told her.

Dawn looked confused. “How you mean.”

“You, standing up for the fact you’re dating me.” Min said. “God Nicola my ex would have run screaming and said nothing. But you didn’t care, you stood up. I’m impressed.”

“Guess Buffy’s outspoken streak runs in the family, but I meant it Min. I’m not ashamed to admit I like you, so I don’t care who knows.” Dawn said proudly.

Min grinned. “Now I know why I like you so much Dawn, you’re my type of girl.”

Min traced a finger down the side of Dawn’s face and it came to rest on her lips. Pulling her finger away she brought her lips closer to Dawn’s. She kissed her briefly on the lips and gave her a loving smile, she didn’t care that a few people where staring at them. Dawn too didn’t care and returned the kiss.

“That’s better.” Min said.

“Much better.” Dawn said, she took Min’s hand and they started walking again. “Let’s get some tea.”

They continued on along the street and they soon came upon a familiar building well at least to Dawn. The ruins of the old Magic Box shop that she and the other scooby gang members used to hang out in.

“Willow really did make a mess of that place.” Dawn commented as she saw the shop. It was boarded up, with warning signs all over the boards. Unsafe structure, do not enter.

“Willow did that?” Min said raising her eyebrows.

“Uh huh.” Dawn said. They where about to carry on past the ruins when Dawn heard the door open behind them. Turning around she saw Anya step out carrying a box loaded with bits and pieces from the ruins.

“Oh my god, Anya.” Dawn said. “Hey.”

Anya gave her a nod and then set down the box; she stared at Min who she hadn’t seen before, looking her over a couple of times before she faced Dawn again. “Dawn, hey, whose this?”

“Oh sorry, Anya, this is Min, my girlfriend.” Dawn said smiling.

“Girlfriend?” Anya said surprised at the revelation.

“Yes, my girlfriend.” Dawn repeated.

“Oh my god, is everyone turning lesbian around here?” She said. “Have you two had sex yet?”

“Anya!” Dawn shouted. “Do you mind?”

“No, so have you?”

Dawn glared at her for moment. “No, for god’s sake Anya, Min and I only just met.”

Anya just returned the glare. “Well the sex won’t be long then, then the love, then the break-up and then vengeance.”

“Bitter break-up I am guessing.” Min said.

Dawn giggled, then catching the look on Anya’s face she stopped. “Sorry Anya.” Then turning to Min. “Yeah you could say that.”

Anya looked Min over again. “Never mind, when Willow gets back from England she might fight you for her.” She said to Dawn.

Dawn sighed heavily. “Um Anya, I think you need to know something.”

“What?”

“Tara’s alive, she is back.” Dawn told her.

Anya’s eyes went wide with shock. “Oh my god, did Willow bring her back from the dead?”

Dawn shook her head. “No, Giles said the spell came from Sunnydale.”

“When did that happen?” Anya asked her.

“Few days ago.”

Anya smiled. “I heard that a resurrection was cast, D’Hoffryn said it was bathed in light. The lower beings are not pleased at this.” She thought for a moment. “So I guess Tara is not evil?”

“No, she’s the same Tara we knew, she’s fine and Willow is with her now.”

“Willow knows?”

Dawn just nodded.

“Good, that means she won’t be trying to wreck my shop or my livelihood again, and the world is safer, until someone else tries to hurt Tara again.” Anya said, then seeing the horrified look in Dawn’s eyes, she softened a little. “I’m glad Tara is alive, I really like her.”

“We are all happy to see her.” Dawn said, feeling a little happier. She looked at her watch for a moment, and then turned to Min. “We had better go soon.”

“That’s ok; leave me here with the ruins of my shop.” Anya said sighing. “Ruined shop, ruined life all the same to me.”

“Sorry Anya.” Dawn said. She looked at the ground for a moment then looked straight into Anya’s eyes. “He misses you.”

“Xander?”

“Uh huh.” Dawn.

“Must miss the sex.” She said dryly. “I admit I do miss his penis.”

“Oh for god’s sake Anya.” Dawn rolled her eyes.

Min just made a face and felt herself shudder. “Ewwwww.”

“Sorry I forgot lesbians don’t like that do they.” Anya said bluntly, again she softened. “I do miss him.”

Taking a breath she picked up the box and faced Dawn. “Well I have to go; I think my services are needed. See you around.”

“Bye.”

With a flash of light, Anya disappeared leaving a swirl of dust in her wake.

Min looked shocked. “What the hell did she do?”

“Vengeance demons can teleport; she is off to make some guys life hell now.” Dawn said. “Come on Min, I still owe you a cup of Tea.”

“This town is going to take some getting used to.” Min said. “Still it has one thing amazing in it.”

“Like?” Dawn asked her.

“You.” Min said giving her a big grin.

Dawn just smiled, she liked the way Min could make her feel all special with just a single word. Dawn had a good feeling that her life was getting better by the minute, and it was all down to a beautiful Asian girl named Min.

Later that Evening, Near the Sunnydale Cemetery

Richard was feeling pretty fed up, he had supposed to be meeting his best friend Dan but then he had told him he was going out with some girl he met. Then he tried his luck chatting up Dawn again, only to find out she was dating a girl.

“God my life sucks.” He said to no one. “I hate this goddamn town.”

He kicked a stone into the road, and decided to take a short cut through the cemetery. He had heard stories about strange things that happened here. Rumours of vampires and demon creatures, but he never believed it. Sounded like fairytale nonsense to him, he made his way past a few of the gravestones, only pausing at one that had no name inscribed on the stone.

“Odd, leave a marker but no name to say who lay there.” He said to himself.

Suddenly he heard a sound from behind him; turning around he saw nothing. “Damn it.” He muttered.

He turned back to see a dark figure in front of him; he took a sharp intake of breath. He could have sworn that the figure was not there a moment ago.

“Who the hell are you?” He asked definitely.

The figure said nothing; Richard could see the outline of the person, clearly a tall man.

“Ok, is this some kind of prank, because if it is, I am so going to kick your ass?” He said his voice cocky and full of confidence.

The figure again said nothing, instead he stepped forward, and reaching out he grabbed the young man by the throat.

Richard’s eyes went wide with terror, he caught a glimpse of the figure, he was a blonde haired male slim but tall.

“What do you want with me?” Richard gasped, struggling for air. “Oh shit.” He exclaimed as he saw the mans face clearly. The eyes where yellow and his forehead was disfigured.

The blonde haired man said nothing; instead he opened his mouth to reveal a set of fangs. Richard could say nothing, he knew in an instant that this was a vampire, for real and his life was about to come to an end.

He screamed in pain as the vampire bit deep into his neck, he could feel a sharp pinching pain that was rapidly turning into a fire like sensation. He could feel his heart beat slowing, as the blood was being drained from his body.

Richard began to lose consciousness, his last thought was of the strange taste of blood in his mouth, for a moment he swallowed some of it and then the world around him turned black.

The vampire dropped the lifeless body to the ground and wiped his mouth. From behind another figure emerged, a blonde girl who resembled Buffy Summers.

“There wasn’t that so much nicer?” She said an evil smile on her face.

1630 Revello Drive

The door opened and Buffy walked into the hallway she walked into to the kitchen and set down the bags of shopping. She looked a little sad; the encounter with Spike this morning had pretty much wiped her out. The fact he had a soul, and he had gotten it back just to try and win her back was beyond belief.

Xander came in carrying a few more bags of shopping; he kicked the door shut behind him and followed the slayer into the kitchen, setting down the bags on the counter.

“Buffy, are you ok?” Xander asked her concerned. “You’ve been pretty quiet since this morning.”

“Xander, I don’t know the whole deal with Spike, him getting his soul back.” Buffy said. “It’s just too bizarre.”

“Do you love him?” Xander asked her. He hated himself in an instant for saying it, but he had to know.

She turned to face him shock on her face. “Xander.”

“Sorry Buffy, I had to ask.”

She shook her head. “God no, after what he did to me, there is no way in hell I could love him.”

“Buffy, then put him out of your mind, believe me he’s not worth it. You have your whole life ahead of you; please don’t torture yourself over that loser.” Xander said, he put an arm on her shoulder.

Buffy sighed and allowed herself a little smile. “Thanks, I just guess it wigged me out seeing him again.” She put a few of the frozen items in the freezer while Xander helped her to unpack and put away the rest of the items.

“I wouldn’t worry Buffy, just keep him at a distance for now till things settle down.” Xander told her. “It’s better this way.

“I know.” Buffy said smiling. “I’ll be back in a moment I just need the bathroom.”

“Sure.”

Buffy climbed the stairs and made her way to the bathroom, she saw the door opening and Willow emerged covered in a bed sheet. “Oh Hey Buffy, sorry I didn’t hear anyone come in. Is everything ok?”

“Yeah fine, just encounter with Spike that’s all.” Buffy said sadly.

“Oh god Buffy are you ok?” Willow asked concerned for her friend.

“I’m fine, I’ll tell you later.” Buffy said, she then noticed that Willow was only dressed in a bed sheet. She smiled and raised an eyebrow, as moments later Tara appeared wearing the duvet cover.

“I see you two have been making up for lost time.” Buffy said grinning, her mood brightening up. “It’s nearly seven in the evening, oh my god have you two been in bed all day.”

Tara blushed red, almost matching the colour of her girlfriend’s hair. “Um no.” She said quietly. “Not all day.”

“We sat outside for a little while, had something to eat.” Willow said, putting on her best innocent look.

“Uh huh.” Buffy winked. “I just hope you didn’t slay the bed, with all that sex.”

“Buffy.” Willow said with mock horror.

Tara giggled. “Don’t worry Buffy we left the bed intact.” She looked back into the room and then turned back to face the slayer. “Although does the headboard belong on the wall?.”

Willow burst out laughing, accidentally dropped the sheet that covered her naked body. “Oh my god, my boobies are on display.”

Reaching down she quickly picked up the bed sheet and wrapped it around herself again. She treated into the room a little and grabbed a dressing gown, putting it on she re-emerged feeling a little less embarrassed. “Sorry.” She mumbled.

“I’m just really glad you two have had some time alone, you really needed it.” Buffy said smiling. “It’s wonderful to see you two together, I really am so happy.”

“Thank you Buffy.” Tara said. “It means a lot.”

“Thank you.” Willow smiled. “I’m the happiest I’ve been in my whole life right now. Tara’s alive, we’re engaged, and it’s just perfect.”

Buffy pulled her best friend close into a hug, she then embraced Tara. “It’s about time things got better for us, we need good news.” She stepped back a little and both Willow and Tara could sense she was a little sad.

“Buff, what’s wrong?” Willow asked her.

“Sorry guys, it’s just great to see you both together, and with Dawn dating as well, I guess I feel a little lonely.” She said with a little sadness in her voice.

“You will find someone Buffy.” Willow said. “I know you will, you’re an amazing girl Buffy, you really deserve someone special.”

“Willow’s right, he is out there.” Tara added, she thought for a moment looking at her girlfriend. “Or maybe she.” She said with a little wink.

Buffy giggled. “Willow I think your girlfriend is showing her naughty side.”

“Oh she definitely has one of those believe me.” Willow said grinning. “Opps sorry I think that was a little too much information for you.”

Buffy nodded. “A little.” She said laughing.

Still she had to admit Tara had a point, maybe her true love was out there, and who said it had to be a guy.

***

Prison just outside LA.

“Faith Lehane, you have a couple of visitors.” A guard called out to her; he had opened the door to her cell.

“What at this late hour?” She said surprised. “Who is it?”

“They claim to be family, two women. Come on Faith unless you want me to tell them to get lost.” He said.

“No it’s ok, I’m coming.” Faith said, she didn’t really know anyone who would visit her aside from Angel. The only two girls she knew where Buffy and Willow, but surely they wouldn’t visit her.

Walking into the visitor’s area she saw the two women seated. “Well long time no see.” She thought to herself, looking at the petite brunette girl. She sat down at the booth and picked up the telephone.

“Hi Pia, been a while.” Faith said. “So who’s the cutie?”

“Hello Faith, this is Jodie my girlfriend.” Pia answered her.

Faith regarded the taller redheaded girl. “She’s a cute one.”

Jodie gave her a smile, politely nodding to the dark haired woman behind the glass.

“So what brings you here? Looking for a little I told you so?” Faith said, her expression remained calm and deadpan.

Pia shook her head. “Faith, please this is not about you and me, we came because we need your help.”

“You need my help?” Faith said surprised. “Take a good look around you girlfriend, I’m not going anywhere. In case you hadn’t noticed I am doing life for murder.”

Pia looked away, she was never any good at a confrontation. Jodie picked up the other phone and spoke. “Faith, we know what happened. Believe me we need your help.” She paused and took a deep breath. “Buffy needs your help.”

“B?” Faith laughed. “What the hell does she need me for, other than to kick my ass.”

“Faith there is a great darkness coming, we believe that the fate of all the slayers is under threat.” Jodie told her. “A great evil wants all the slayers dead including you Faith, and we believe that any potential slayers are too.”

“Wait a minute, some woman attacked me today with a crazy looking knife.” Faith said remembering her encounter with Deb earlier.

Pia steadied herself; she took the phone from her girlfriend and spoke. “Faith, this is important, please if you don’t want to do this for Buffy or me, do it for yourself.” She pleaded.

Faith thought for a moment, much as she hated the idea of facing Buffy again, she hated being cooped up in jail. The attack on her by Deb if that was related to someone trying to wipe out the slayers, then maybe this was her chance to redeem herself after all. One thing she knew about Pia was that she would never lie to anyone, and definitely not her, she had made up her mind.

“Pia.”

“Yes Faith?”

“Step away from the glass.” Faith said, standing up and pushing the chair away from her.

Pia grabbed Jodie’s arm and pulled her away from the booth; they both reached into their pockets and grabbed a handful of the powder they had prepared earlier.

Faith leapt towards the glass and punched through protecting her head with her arms. She tumbled to the floor and executed a perfect roll, standing up she quickly brushed aside a security guard that had jumped her, and he fell to the floor. A second guard reached for the alarm, but he was stopped when an invisible barrier surrounded it, Pia was chanting her hand outstretched towards the guard.

Jodie reached into her pocket, taking a handful of the powder she blew it into the air. “Confundomtor era ah obscurator.” She shouted and the air became thick with dust.

“Holy shit Pia, Your girls a whiz with the mojo.” Faith said. She could barely see, but she felt an arm either side of her, it was Pia and Jodie, they led her down the stairs.

Pia reached into her pocket and pulled out some of the powder, she incanted the words and another cloud of dust hit the guard in the face who blocked their way. Faith saw the exit and kicked the door open; it nearly flew off its hinges.

Jodie took out her keys and remotely unlocked the car; she scrambled into the driver’s seat. Pia opened the passenger door and climbed in, she saw Faith get into the rear of the car.

Jodie started the engine and the car screamed out of the prison parking lot, Pia wound down the car window and reaching into her pocket she pulled out a small blue crystal. She looked out to see a patrol car chasing them. She threw the crystal towards the car, Faith heard a gunshot coming from the chasing police, but heard no impact.

The crystal shattered and the police car’s engine died, and it slowed to a halt. The policeman tried his radio but it was dead, only static came from the speaker. “Shit radio’s out.”

“Don’t worry they wont get far I think I got one of them.” His colleague said.

Faith sat back in her seat, her heart racing from the excitement of the escape. She sat herself forward. “Hey that was some rescue girls, nice one.”

“Thank Pia; she did most of the work.” Jodie said, she turned to her girlfriend who was still leaning out the window. “Pia close the window sweetheart it’s draughty in here.”

Faith grinned and turned to Pia; her smile rapidly faded as she saw the side window it was streaked with blood. Pia wasn’t moving, Faith could tell she had been shot.

“Jodie stop the car now.” Faith screamed.

Jodie turned to see her girlfriend slumped against the window; she brought the car to a stop. “Oh god no, please Pia baby.”

Faith opened the door and moved to the front to check on Pia, there was a small ragged hole in her shoulder when a bullet had struck her. Faith checked for a pulse, she breathed a sigh of relief when she found one, it was weak but steady.

Jodie knelt down by the passenger door next to Faith; she could see that Pia was breathing. “Oh god, please Pia sweetie talk to me.”

“Jodie, she’s been shot in the shoulder, looks like the bullet went straight through.” Faith said. “She’ll live, but we need to get her some help fast.”

“I can do that.” Jodie said, her voice shaking.

She placed her hand over Pia’s injured shoulder and closed her eyes; the area beneath her hand began to glow a little. Jodie kept her focus on the wound and kept her hand over it, the glow got brighter and slowly the blood flow stopped.

Jodie still shaking a little turned to Faith. “There’s a first aid kit in the trunk, can you get it for me.”

“Sure.” Faith got up and opened the trunk returning a moment later with the first aid kit.

“Pia darling don’t do that to me.” Jodie whispered and kissed her unconscious lover on the forehead. “You’re going to be alright baby I promise.”

Faith unwrapped a few of the bandages, and when Jodie removed her hand she wrapped a few of them around Pia’s shoulder.

“Pia sweetheart, wake up.” Jodie said softly.

Pia’s eyelids fluttered for a moment then her eyes slowly opened; she felt the sharp pain in her shoulder and screamed in pain.

“Shhh Baby, you’re going to be ok.” Jodie reassured her. “You’ve been shot, but you’re going to be fine.” She placed her hand over the bandages and began to chant again, the glow returned and Pia began to relax her breathing became calmer.

“My head’s all dizzy.” Pia said, she was a little out of it, but she managed a weak smile.

“It’s the blood loss, you’ll be fine.” Faith said. “Thanks for the rescue by the way. I owe you one.”

“We’d better get going; the police won’t be far behind us.” Pia said weakly.

Faith nodded. “Jodie let’s get out of here, find a place to bunker down for the night. Then we can go pay B a visit, I’m sure she will be delighted to see me.”

Sunnydale Cemetery

Spike looked at the form of Buffy Summers in front of him; he was still whistling the tune that he had heard in his head all evening. “Early one morning.” He carried on.

He was digging a small grave, to place the body of the young man into, it was cold out but being a vampire he had no breath. Buffy just watched him as he finished digging the grave. He casually rolled the body into the shallow grave with his foot.

“That’s my boy.” She said. “Time to find another I think, I don’t want my boy to go hungry.”

Spike said nothing, he just continued to cover the body with dirt still whistling his tune, but the figure of Buffy looked on smiling. Once he had finished covering it up, he walked away the whistling stopped.

Buffy watched him go, her face still smiling as she watched the vampire walk off towards the town. “Well looks like we are in for a long night.”

She turned to the hooded figures that appeared from the shadows, the figure of Buffy suddenly morphed into the form of Richard the boy who had just been laid to rest in the grave.

“I have a task for you.” He said to them. “Go to the home of the potential slayer, named Min. Kill her and everyone there, oh and make sure they all suffer, I’m not a big fan of an easy death.”

The dark hooded figures bowed before him and left, a wry smile appeared on his face as he watched them go.

“This is where the fun begins.” He said laughing.

1630 Revello Drive.

Willow sat on the sofa just resting her head against a cushion, she was feeling pretty tired from the days events, which mostly involved her and Tara making love. She still couldn’t believe what had happened in recent days, just a week ago she was in England, still mourning the loss of her lover Tara.

Now here she was back in Sunnydale and Tara was alive and well, today was the first day she truly felt happy again. Her Tara was safe in her arms again, but the only thing she feared now was losing her again.

“I won’t lose you baby, never again.” She whispered to herself. She knew that the dark magic was still with her, the darkness that had clouded her mind and soul in grief just a little over three months ago. She could still feel it there, but now with Tara back she felt a little more control over herself.

With Tara’s love and help she could do it, she smiled as she thought of her lover. She no longer had to face her fear alone; she had Tara to help her.

“Goddess, I love you Tara.” She said softly, her thoughts where interrupted by a voice shouting to her.

“Willow.” Buffy called out to her from the kitchen, where she and Tara where making something to eat.

“Yes Buffy?” She replied.

“Are you hungry?” She asked her.

“Very.” Willow admitted. “What are you guys making?”

“Just some rice, chicken with mushrooms, peppers and tomato’s.” Shouldn’t be too long. Buffy answered.

“Sounds yummy.” Willow said. “Not as yummy as my girlfriend but hey food in belly is always good.” She giggled.

In the Kitchen, Buffy turned to Tara who was getting out some plates from the overhead cupboard.

“Tara, can I ask you something?” Buffy said.

Tara set down the plates and faced Buffy, “Yes of course.”

“Do you think Spike can be a good person?” She asked.

Tara looked concerned; she reached out and put a reassuring hand on Buffy’s shoulder. “Buffy is this because he has a soul now?” She asked.

“Yes.”

“I I I think so.” She said and regarded her for a moment. “Buffy do you still love him?”

Buffy shook her head. “No, I know that wasn’t love, it was just pain, I wanted him because I hated myself, I wanted the pain, the hurt.”

“Buffy, you don’t feel that way still do you?” Tara asked her, seeing the confused look on the slayers face she spoke again. “I I I mean the you hating yourself.”

“No I don’t, I am fine now. It’s just with Spike back and now he said he got his soul back for me, it’s just all so confusing.”

Tara pulled Buffy into a hug. “Buffy, I think you need to find someone, other than Spike, someone to help you feel special all again. You deserve that at least Buffy.”

Buffy smiled at Tara’s words, she always liked to talk to Tara about things, as the blonde wiccan was always willing to listen to her. She loved that about her, Willow’s girlfriend always seems to be the calm in the middle of the storm.

“You’re the slayer Buffy, and I know that carries so much responsibility but you’re also a person. You of all people deserve a little happiness in your life, someone to love you and take care of you.” Tara continued. “You will find that person, I know you will.”

“Thank you Tara, I’m just so glad to have you back.” Buffy said a little tear in her eye. Again Tara always knew the right things to say to comfort her, silently she thanked who ever had brought the beautiful blonde girl back into everyone’s lives.

“I’m very happy to be here, I’m so in love with Willow, and I have all my friends around me again.” Tara smiled; she and Buffy slowly broke the hug.

Buffy looked at her for a moment. “Tara, can I tell you a little secret I have held for a while.”

Tara brushed a few strands of Buffy’s hair from her face; she gave her a reassuring smile. “Sure.”

“I’ve never even told Willow this.” Buffy said.

“It’s ok Buffy.”

“I once slept with Faith.” She said lowering her eyes.

Tara took a moment while that sunk in, she had sensed that there was more to Buffy and Faith than Willow had told her about. Tara just smiled warmly at her; she gently touched the slayers arm.

“It was a long time ago, we where slaying a nest of vampires, and we got a little frisky after that. Spend the afternoon having sex, then we blew off some steam at the Bronze.” Buffy told her. “It’s was just the once, and then Faith killed someone and I pushed it out of my mind.”

“Until Dawn got herself a girlfriend huh?” Asked Tara softly.

Buffy didn’t reply she just nodded, it had been weighing on her mind ever since Dawn had started dating Min.

“Yeah, sorry it seems like every time we talk I unload my self on you Tara.” Buffy said.

“Hey it’s ok Buffy really.” Tara said, giving her a warm smile.

Buffy returned the smile. “Thank you, I will say one thing Tara, I am really happy to see you and Willow together again. If there was ever two people made for each other it’s you two.”

Tara felt a few tears welling in her eyes, she hugged her again. “Thank you Buffy, Willow means everything in the world to me, I love her so much.”

“I know you do.” Buffy said. “Everyone is so happy to see you Tara, god we missed you so much.”

Willow folded her arms as she heard Tara’s words; she stepped into the kitchen. She came up behind her girlfriend and wrapped her arms around the blonde’s waist. “I love you too Tara.” She whispered in her ear.

Buffy broke free of Tara’s arms; she stood there for a moment watching them. “I hope Tara’s right, hope I do find someone.” She thought to herself.

Little more about Pia and Jodie this chapter and a huge revelation to come about one of the girls too. Next chapter is very angsty and will not be a happy one for the new girl in Dawn's life.

That was great.

Richard was a bit of an arse, to put it mildly. Way to over react doofus.

Well I can't say I'm sorry to see him go. However did Spike turn him? If so then I can see him wanting help kill Min.

Yay :party Faith's out. It wasn't a perfect rescue, but I suppose it was Pia & Jodi's first jail break. I wonder where Faith knows Pia from?

So Faith and Buffy have slept together? Who'd have thunk it? I guess it's true about slaying making you horny.

Looking forward to seeing more

Very nice update m'dear. Even though Richard deserved to get deaded (yes, I know that's not a *real* word ;-) ) and the whole getting-shot-in-the-shoulder thing is annoying. But yay! for Willow/Tara bonding! (And for B/F lovin'.) ;-)

HIyas next part is ready too

WARNING, It contains a nasty shock for someone and if you have lost someone recently please dont read ok. It's a little harsh but forms part of the story.

Dont worry about Pia she will be fine as there is a major development coming about her.

Revello Drive, a short distance from Buffy’s house.

“That was fun.” Min said. “The look on that guy’s face in the cinema when he caught us kissing.”

“He went bright red, nearly matching Willow’s hair colour.” Dawn said laughing. “Hey do you think Buffy might let you stay over again tonight? You know if you want to, and your parents say its ok?”

Min released Dawn’s hand and then slipped into Dawn’s arm, bring her a little closer. “Are you flirting with me miss Dawn?” She said grinning.

“Damn right I am, if I can’t flirt with my girlfriend.” She paused a moment. “It’s so cool that, saying girlfriend.”

“Yeah it is pretty neat.” Min admitted.

“So Dawn, if I can stay over, what do you want to do tomorrow then?” Min asked her.

“I don’t know, hang out annoy my sister.” Dawn suggested. “We could hang with Willow and Tara.” She stopped and then started giggling.

Min looked at her puzzled. “What’s so funny?” She asked.

“That is if those two can keep their hands off each other.” Dawn said still giggling.

“Making up for lost time huh?” Min said. “Kinda understandable I guess.”

“So do you want to stay over?” Dawn asked her again, this time with a little hopeful tone in her voice.

“If it’s ok with your sister sure.” I’d like that. “I’ll call my parents let them know I am coming over to pick up an overnight bag.”

“Cool.” Dawn smiled.

Min smiled to herself. “Coming to Sunnydale has to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Sunnydale High School

Jonathan descended via a rope slowly which had been thrown down via an open skylight. He landed softly on the floor of the Library room and unhooked himself.

“Aah!” Andrew shouted out as he crashed from the opening and landed on the floor. “Ow that hurt.”

“Get up, you wuss.” Jonathan said rolling his eyes.

“I have shin splints Ow.” Andrew whined.

They exited the library and made their way down the hallway, Jonathan was struggling with the large backpack he was carrying. He turned to Andrew who had the map and was carrying his flashlight, which was turned off.

“Maybe we should turn on a light.” Jonathan suggested.

“No, they'll see it from outside.” Andrew shook his head.

“Right.” Jonathan said, they both turned startled as they heard the sound of breaking glass in the distance. “Maybe we should go get Buffy.”

“No way.” Andrew said.

“We should just tell her what we know about this evil Danthazar.” Jonathan said, he was getting a little nervous about the whole thing.

“Think, McFly. Why would she believe us without any proof? We go to her empty-handed, and we'll be coolin' our heels in the clink in a Bell's microsecond.” Andrew told him, he glanced nervously around.
“I ain't going' back to the big house. That place changes a man.” Jonathan said remembering the time they where locked up.

“That's why we need proof. Think of it as? As trial by fire. A quest.” Andrew told him.

“Una questa.” Jonathan smiled.

“We find it. We alert the slayer. We help her destroy it. We save Sunnydale. Then we join her gang and possibly hang out at her house.” Andrew said proudly. “That would be pretty cool huh?”

“I’m not so sure, I mean if Willow is there she could still be a little angry at us.” Jonathan looked worried

“It’ll be fine Jonathan.” Andrew reassured him. “Remember it was Warren who shot Tara, not us.”

“Right. OK. What do we do?” Jonathan asked him.

“I think we should find the Principal's office and work our way down from there.” Andrew suggested.

“OK, uh, um, uh, you go check down the hallway, and I'll go over there.” Jonathan said, pointing Andrew to the left.

“Check communications?” Andrew said, pulling out a walkie-talkie radio from his pants. Jonathan reached into his pocket and removed his own walkie-talkie.

“Check. Check.” Said Jonathan.

“Check. Check.” Andrew answered.

They nodded to each other, then walked their separate ways, a few steps down the corridor Jonathan raised his walkie-talkie again. “Echo 2 to Echo 1.

Andrew answered. “This is Echo 1. Go ahead.”

“Do you think they'll really let us join their gang?” Jonathan asked him.

Andrew shrugged his shoulders. Jonathan turned away from him and started to walk away. Andrew didn’t see Warren walking out from behind some lockers and he stepped up next to Andrew.

“Nice job.” Warren said.

“There you are. I'm scared out of my frickin' gourd here.” Andrew yelled as he was taken by surprise.

“Take it easy. Take it easy.” Warren said.

“Do you have any idea how hard it's been to act this cool?” Andrew said. He looked nervous as he checked for any sign of Jonathan who had left a moment ago. “And why can’t Jonathan see you?”

“Calm down, you're doing great. It’s not time for him to see me yet.” Warren smiled. “We've been over this. Now, that death thing was all part of the master plan. Come on, “If you strike me down...”

Andrew nodded. “I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.” He laughed “Of course. Do you think, maybe, Willow could kill me, too?” Part of him instantly regretted that as he no desire to be flayed alive at the hands of the black haired witch. The encounter with her a few months ago still gave him nightmares.

Warren remained calm. “Hey, don't worry. If short round pulls off his end of the bargain, we'll both become gods.”

“That boy is our last hope.” Andrew said, looking down the hall to where Jonathan had vanished.

“No, there is another.” Said Warren who stepped up beside Andrew.

“Wait, really? Who's our last hope?” Andrew asked him puzzled.

“No, I was just going with it. It was a thing. He's our last hope.” Warren shrugged his shoulders.

***

A little later Sunnydale High School basement.

“This thing is pretty big you know?” Andrew said, “I did think it would be so much hard work digging it out.” He wiped his forehead with his sleeve.

“I just hope that Buffy will know how to destroy it.” Jonathan said, he was a little worried. “Do you think she can do it?”

“I don’t know.” Andrew said, he glanced around him to see the figure of Warren standing nearby just smiling at him.

“It’s so weird being back here you know, back in the high school, in a way I kind of missed it.” Jonathan told him. “I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day. I miss the people who never knew I existed. I miss 'em all. I want to talk to them, you know. I want to find out how they're doing. I want to know what's going on in their lives.”

Andrew caught the look on Warren’s face, in his pocket he could still feel the sharp blade. It was almost time; he could see the reassuring look on Warren’s face. He nodded and turned back to Jonathan. “You know what? They don't wanna talk to you? All those people you just mentioned. Not one of them is sitting around going, "I wonder what Jonathan's up to right now." Not one of them cares about you.”

Jonathan looked a little hurt, but he smiled and carried on. “Well, I still care about them. That's why I'm here.”

He carried on digging, Andrew to picked up his shovel to uncover the last parts of the huge circular metal disk; it was an inverted pentagram with a large goat’s head symbol.

When they had finished, Andrew looked back to where Warren was standing; he was still invisible to Jonathan. Andrew reached into his coat pocket and firmly gripped the handle of the sharp blade. He could tell this was the moment that Warren had prepared him for.

“I think we’ve done it, maybe it’s time to go get Buffy.” Jonathan said, he set down the shovel and picked up his bag.

Andrew put his arm on Jonathan’s shoulder, his hand steady now on the blade. Jonathan looked up into his friend’s eyes, he suddenly recognised the figure of Warren standing behind Andrew, and his eyes registered shock.

“Oh my god.” Jonathan said. “Warren!”

Jonathan didn’t see it coming, with one swift movement of his hand Andrew pulled the knife from his coat and thrust it straight into Jonathan’s belly cutting him deep. Jonathan’s eyes went wide; he’s looked at Andrew with horror.

Andrew let him go and he watched as Jonathan his eyes filled with betrayal fell backwards onto the metal disk. He was dead, blood seeping out from under him onto the surface.

Warren looked on in approval as the seal began to glow slightly. “You lose slayer.”

Not to far from Mason Avenue Sunnydale

“Thanks for this Buffy.” Min said. “Little too far for me to walk from your place.”

“Hey it’s ok, and I don’t mind.” Buffy said. “How far is it now.”

“About half a mile or so, shouldn’t take us long to get there.” Min said.

“Cool.” The slayer said, it wasn’t a long drive to Min’s house, but it gave her a little time to get to know her sister’s girlfriend. “How was your day out today?” She asked her.

Min had a feeling that Buffy might ask about her date, it didn’t bother her. It was only natural being that Buffy was Dawn’s only family. “We had a great time, went to the expresso pump, caught a movie and we had a nice pizza.”

Buffy laughed. “My sister the pizza lover.”

“Yeah she pretty went for the anchovies, and she saw a little silly song to go with it. I think it made everyone notice her.” Min giggled.

“I’ve heard that, she is a funny girl.” Buffy laughed. “I’m glad you both had a great time.”

“Thanks, it was fun, she’s a lovely girl.” Min said smiling.

“I’m guessing Dawn is not your first girlfriend?” Buffy said.

Min shook her head. “No she isn’t my first girlfriend, but she is by far the prettiest.”

“Min I have to ask this, how did you know that she liked you?”

Min turned to Buffy for a moment; she had a feeling there was more to this question than just asking about her and Dawn. She didn’t think it was the right time to press the matter. “Well I knew I liked her straight away, she’s so beautiful. Dawn and I hit it off pretty quick I feel, so I guess she liked me just after we met.”

“I’m happy for my sister, and that’s all that matters to me.” Buffy said.

“Thank you.”

Buffy smiled, she turned the corner and entered Mason Avenue. “Wow it’s pretty nice around here.” Buffy said as she saw the beautiful houses. She knew that this area had some of the most expensive properties in Sunnydale; Min had to come from a pretty well off family to live around here.

“Yes it is very nice around here.” Min said. “Mom loves it.”

“Not surprised, these are some very big houses.” Buffy admitted, she was impressed.

“Buffy it’s just over there.” Min pointed out a large house on the corner. Min’s smile began to fade a little as the front of the house came into view. “That’s odd there are no lights on in the house.”

The hairs on Buffy’s neck began to stand up, as she pulled up into the driveway, she saw in the car’s headlights that the front door was slightly ajar.

The car slowly stopped and within a moment, Min had opened the door. She stepped out and started to run towards the house. Buffy called out to her.

“Min wait a moment.” She shouted. Min stopped and turned back towards Buffy.

Buffy opened the rear door and pulled a small axe out from under her seat. She found a wooden stake and then closed the car door; she walked up to the young potential and handed her the wooden stake. “Ever used one?” She asked her.

“Yeah, I have a crossbow in my room I know how to handle myself.” Min said. “Buffy I don’t like this.”

“I don’t either.” Buffy said. “Stay with me.”

Buffy walked up to the door and pushed it open, her axe raised. A chill went down her spine, she could smell blood. Min was close behind her, she too could sense that something bad had happened.

“Mom, Dad.” She called out.

“Min keep your voice down.” Buffy warned her.

Min followed Buffy into the house and they made their way into the kitchen. As Buffy took a few steps into the kitchen she slipped on something wet. Catching herself on the counter she stopped herself from falling.

“Oh my god.” Min said, “Oh my god.” She could see three people lying on the floor of the kitchen. Blood was everywhere, and in an instant Min recognised them. Her parents and her watcher were dead, and in an instant her whole world collapsed.

“Oh god no, please no, no.” Min said, tears began to flow freely from her eyes. “No, this is not true, please no.” She knelt down beside her mom. “Mom god no, please.”

***

Buffy’s eyes went wide as she saw them; the floor was covered with blood. Her heart sank as she realised, that Min was now totally alone in the world.

“Oh god Min.” Buffy said, reaching out to put her arm on the young woman’s shoulder. Suddenly she knew that they weren’t alone, three figures rushed them, and their huge curved knives raised to attack.

Buffy lashed out with her foot and kicked the first one back against the other two, one managed to dodge the falling body, and poised himself to strike at Buffy. She sidestepped out of the way and brought up her axe and buried it in the hooded mans groin. He fell to the ground dead in an instant.

“Min move.” Buffy yelled out to her. Min still struck with grief snapped out of it and stood up. She saw that Buffy had killed one of the hooded men.

She saw the two remaining figures, struggling to their feet, one of them rushed at her. She stepped to one side and brought her elbow into play swinging it straight into his face, he went down. Min raised her arm with the wooden stake; she was about strike him when the other one knocked her to the floor. There was a flash of metal and she saw her jacket rip open, thankfully the blade missed her body.

Buffy saw the hooded figure slash his knife across Min’s arm and slice her jacket. “Leave her alone goddamn it.” She shouted, swinging her axe, it connected with the figure, his head cleanly separated from his body.

The remaining figure began to get to his feet; he kicked out with his foot, striking Buffy in her leg. She fell to the floor, Min saw her chance and thrust the wooden stake down it stuck the hooded man in the back, he moved for a few moments trying to get up.

Min pulled the stake out and thrust it again into the man; he collapsed to the ground dead. She could feel the adrenaline in her body pumping; she looked at the three hooded figures that had attacked them.

“Buffy what the hell is this?” Min asked her.

“I don’t know.” She got up from the floor and turned the body of the man that Min had just killed over onto his back. She pulled back the hood to reveal what appeared to a man’s face, except for the eyes.

Min stared at the face, the eyes where almost burned shut with strange symbols over them. “What are they?” She asked the slayer.

Buffy recognised them, she had seen them several years ago. They where the followers of The First Evil. “I’ve seen them before.” She said softly.

“Buffy tell me what are they?”

“There called the bringers, harbingers of The First Evil, they serve it.” Buffy told her, she knew that something bad was coming. “Oh god, we need to get help, I need to contact the watchers council in England.”

Buffy stopped herself as she caught a glimpse of Min kneeling down again beside her mother.

Min stared at her mother’s face for a few moments; she brushed a few strands of hair that covered her mother’s eyes. “Mom.” She whispered. The young woman began to cry again, tears running down her face. She leaned down a moment and planted a kiss on her mother’s forehead.

Buffy could do nothing she just watched as her sister’s girlfriend just held her mother’s hand for a moment. She felt the hairs on the back of her neck prickle again; she turned around quickly to see the face of what appeared to be Min’s mother.

“Oh god.” She said.

Min still with tears streaming in her tears turned around and saw the figure of her mother standing there. “Mom!”

“It’s not your mother, it’s The First.” Buffy said.

“Oh don’t be like that Buffy, no need to torment the girl.” The figure said. “That’s my job.”

“Mom, stop that.” Min said.

“Min it’s not your mother, it just looks like your mother.” Buffy told her again.

“What the hell are you?” Min asked her shaking.

“Min dear I just wanted to say hello, before I wipe you and all your friends out, and that little girl you like so much, oh what’s her name Dawn.”

The First still wearing Min’s mothers form turned to the slayer, she had an evil smile across her face. “Last year will seem like a picnic after what I plan to put you all through. I am no fan of an easy death, so believe me Buffy Summers, hell is coming and there is nothing you can do to stop me.”

“From beneath you it devours.” Buffy said, remembering what Giles and Willow had told her about.

“Oh not it.” The figure of Min’s mother said. “Me!”

The figure began to laugh loudly; the laugh sent a deep chill down both Buffy and Min’s spine. The smile became wider until the face began to morph, the lips rolled back and she began to turn inside out, becoming a floating ball of flesh. Then in a flash of light it was gone, leaving the two girls alone in the kitchen both with looks of horror on their faces.

A motel outside LA.

Faith stood just outside the motel staring up into the night sky, the cold night made her breathe visible in the air. It had been a dramatic day for the woman; first someone had attempted to kill her, then the rescue by the two witches and then Pia being shot.

She smiled a little, at least Pia wasn’t badly hurt and she would recover fine. Faith would have hated herself if anything had happened to her. She felt someone behind her, she turned to see a tired looking and tear streaked Jodie standing next to her.

“Are you ok Jodie? And how’s Pia doing?” Faith asked her.

“Pia’s asleep, I did another healing spell on her shoulder she will be ok. I’m ok just terrified I was going to lose her.” Jodie replied.

“I can tell, you two remind me of another couple of witches, well Angel told me more about them.” Faith said.

“Oh?” Jodie inquired.

“Willow, B’s little witchy friend and her little blonde lover.” Faith said.

“Tara.”

“That’s her, poor Willow though heard Blondie took a bullet and died. Mind you I heard the bastard who did it got what he deserved, Willow killed him.” Faith said. “Never knew Red had a psycho streak in her.”

“Tara’s alive.” Jodie said simply.

“Willow didn’t use her witchy mojo, to bring her back did she?” Faith asked her.

Jodie shook her head. “No she didn’t, but two members of our coven did, they brought her back.”

Faith glared at her. “Why the hell did you do that? To torment Red?”

“No Tara is too important in the coming fight against the darkness, her death should never have happened.” Jodie answered. “She and Willow are special, and so are you.”

Faith was still a little angry, as much as she and Willow didn’t really care for each other; she had no desire anymore to see her in pain over losing her lover. “Is Tara human or has she had to pay a price for being restored.”

Jodie looked sad for a moment, remember her two friends who sacrificed themselves to restore Tara. “She’s just Tara, she was restored as she was moments before her death.”

“Thank god for that, so where the hell do I fit into all this?” Faith asked.

“Buffy needs you, more than you might know.” Jodie said.

Faith shrugged her shoulders, she couldn’t imagine that Buffy would be happy to see her again. Still it might give her a chance to set things right. Staring back up to into the sky she felt the cold chill again in her body, darkness was coming and it was going to one hell of a fight.

Watchers Council, London England

It was chaos in the council chambers; everyone was rushing around, talking on the phone to various contacts. Quentin Travers stood next to the conference table; he was reading a report that had come in from Turkey when Marcus, his deputy approached him. His face showed fear for the first time.
“They took our files, wiped out our records. We've lost contact with operations in Munich, Switzerland and Rome. We've got casualty confirmations coming in from as far away as Melbourne.” Marcus told him sadly.
“Sir, we are crippled.” Lydia the tall blonde woman said. “Everything is beginning to fall apart. We’ve lost contact with Rupert Giles in China as well.”
Quentin put a steady hand on her shoulder to try and reassure the young woman. “It's all right, Lydia. We are still masters of our fate, still captains of our souls.”
“Yes, sir.” She nodded she left the room, not daring to show the fear in her eyes.
Quentin tapped his cane on the table to get everyone’s attention. “Ladies and gentlemen, our fears have been confirmed. The First Evil has declared all-out war on this institution. Their first volleys proved most effective. I, for one, think it's time we struck back.”
He paused for a moment. “Give me confirmations on all remaining operatives. Visuals and tactical's. Highest alert. Get them here as soon as possible. Begin preparations for mobilization. Once we're accounted for, I want to be ready to move.”
“Sir where are going?” Phillip asked him.
“We'll be paying a visit to the hell mouth. My friends, these are the times that define us. Proverbs 24:6. O, by wise council, you shall make your war.” Quentin told them standing proud. “Once we arrive in Sunnydale we will meet with Miss Summers and the others.”
“What about Miss Rosenberg and Miss Maclay.” Lydia asked him, returning to the room. “The prophecy in the Liberhiem Codex do you believe it is them?”
“I do indeed Lydia, are you all set?” Quentin asked her.
She nodded. “I am sir.”
“Good, I wish you a safe journey; you must get this Codex into the hands of the slayer.” He said. “Go now; we will join you in a few days once we have mustered what is left of our resources.”
Lydia left the room, making her way out of the building she reached the parking bay and got into her car. “I hope Rupert Giles is safe.” She said to herself.
Starting the engine she drove out from the underground parking lot, exiting the lot she started the long drive towards Heathrow airport, where she need to catch her flight to Sunnydale.
She didn’t get far when she heard a huge explosion behind her; she glanced in her rear view mirror to see a huge fireball engulf the building that belonged to the watchers council. Glass from nearby buildings shattered and Lydia felt her car shake from the blast.

“Oh my god.” She screamed. Closing her eyes for moment, she said a silent prayer for her friends and colleagues who had probably just died. Her training took over and she knew what she had to do. “I must get to Sunnydale.”

1630 Revello Drive

Buffy opened the door to the house slowly; she stepped inside and then waited for Min. Setting down a few of Min’s bags that she had brought from her home, she turned to see the tear streaked girl enter the house.

The slayer looked at the clock in the hallway, it was almost 2 am and she was tired. They had been gone for almost 6 hours; Willow, Tara and hopefully Dawn would be asleep by now. She had phoned them earlier from Min’s place to tell them what had happened. She had heard Dawn protesting that she wanted to be there with Min, but she had to tell her to wait, Min would need her when they got back.

“Min, can I get you something to drink?” Buffy asked her softly. “Water maybe?”

Min shook her head; she just looked at floor for a moment. A few hours ago she was the happiest girl around, she had a new girlfriend who she admitted was stunning, and she had made new friends. Now all she could think of was what happened to her parents, images of the bodies lying there, the blood and the look of terror on her mother’s face.

All Min could feel was a black emptiness a gapping hole in her heart. She looked up to see Dawn standing at the top of the stairs, she took a few steps forward and stopped. She sank to the ground unable to hold back the emotion any longer. Tears overwhelming her she just cried, the pain hitting her like she had been punched in the stomach.

Dawn ran down the stairs at the sight of her girlfriend, she wanted to be with her, to hold and comfort her. She sat down on the floor next to Min and reached out.

Min looked up into the face of her girlfriend, Dawn too had been crying. Dawn pulled Min close into her body and held her tight, not wanting to let go of the girl.

“Min, oh god baby, I am so sorry.” Dawn whispered softly. “I am just so sorry.”

Dawn stayed where she was, refusing to let go of her not wanting to leave the poor girl alone. Dawn just wanted to be there for Min, to hold her close and to try and give her a little of her own strength.

Min felt the warmth of Dawn’s body so close to her, despite the horror of the past few hours, here in the arms of the girl she cared for she felt a small glimmer of peace. It was all she had to hold onto right now.

“What is going to happen to me now?” Min managed to say, fighting back the tears. “Where will I go?”

Buffy knelt down and placed her arm around Min’s shoulder. “Min, we’ll be here for you, if you want you are welcome to stay here with us. That’s if you would like to.”

Min turned to her and gave a little smile. “Thank you.”

Dawn look up into her sister’s eyes. “Thanks.” She mouthed silently at her.

“I’m so tired.” Min said softly.

Dawn wiped a few tears from Min’s face; she leaned forward and kissed her gently on the forehead. “I’ll take you upstairs, I don’t think you should be alone tonight.” She looked at her sister. “She is going to stay with me tonight.”

Buffy didn’t argue, she just nodded, and she knew that Min needed to be close to Dawn. “Okay.”

Dawn slowly released Min and then stood up, she waited for a moment as Min got to her feet still a little unsteady. Dawn put her arms around her girlfriend’s waist.

“Come on Min.” She said softly. “I’ve got you.”

Dawn and Min slowly made their way up the stairs, taking each step one at a time. Buffy watched them go, her heart still aching for the young girl. In the morning she would contact the watchers council to find out more about the First. The darkness that Willow and Giles warned about was finally here.

“I hope they can tell me how to stop this thing.” Already she could tell that a big fight was looming and it was going to be a very bloody battle.

Upstairs Dawn had managed to guide Min into her room; Min gratefully sat down on the edge of the bed. Dawn sat next to her holding her hand.

“I wish there was something I could do, something I could say to help make it better.” Dawn said.

“Just stay with me please.” Min said.

“I will, I promise.” Dawn said softly. “I’m not going anywhere ok?”

Min gave her a weak smile; she reached down and removed her boots, placing them on the floor. Dawn helped her to remove her jacket and she set it down on the chair next to the bed.

Dawn pulled back the bed covers and then waited for Min to get into the soft bed. Min rested her head on the pillow as Dawn climbed into the bed next to her. Min felt wrap her arms around her body from behind. She felt Dawn kiss her softly on her neck, and then settle down beside her.

Min closed her eyes and hoped that when the sleep came, Dawn would be there to guide her through the nightmares.

Buffy stopped outside Dawn’s room for a moment; she heard the door open behind her and turned to see Willow and Tara in their Pyjamas. Willow stepped forward and hugged her best friend close.

“How is she?” Tara asked her.

“God Tara she is hurting.” Buffy answered her.

“Is Dawnie with her?” Willow asked.

Buffy just nodded, she didn’t know what else to say, the emotions where still raging in her, to see Min’s pain and grief reminded her of her mothers death a couple of years ago.

“We’ll be here for her.” Tara said.

Willow nodded. “Buffy, if she needs anything she just has to ask.”

“Thanks guys, all we can do now is just be there for her, I guess we’re all she has now.” Buffy said smiling. “I’m going to try and get some sleep ok.”

“Ok Buffy.” Willow nodded. “Night.”

“Night Buffy.” Tara said.

“Night Willow, Night Tara.” Buffy said, she waited until the two wiccans had closed their door and then she stepped into her room and closed the door behind her.

She undressed and then climbed into her bed, pulling the bed sheets up to her neck she settled down. She closed her eyes and hoped that tomorrow would bring some answers, and that they could find a way to stop the First.

1630 Revello drive late Morning

Buffy sat alone on the sofa, she was worried. She had tried calling the watchers council all morning but there was no reply just a dead phone line. She dialled the number again and waited, again she got the line was dead signal.

“Shit.” She said.

Buffy put the phone down on the sofa; she heard footsteps and saw Willow coming down the stairs. They exchanged smiles as Willow came over to her and sat down on the chair opposite.

“Hey Buffy, what’s up?” Willow said, she could see that Buffy was nervous.

“I can’t get through to the watchers council, I’ve tried calling them but all I get is a dead phone.” Buffy told her. “Something’s seriously wrong here.”

Willow nodded. “It’s odd I know, have you heard anything more from Giles?”

“Nothing, not a thing. Last time I spoke to the council they said he was in China.” Buffy said grimly. “Willow that thing you mentioned about from beneath you it devours remember?”

“Yeah I do.” Willow said, the feeling that the whole ground was going to swallow the world still hung in the back of her mind. “Why?”

“Last night at Min’s place, I saw it again the First Evil, it taunted her said it was coming for us all.” Buffy said sombrely. “Willow this is it, the big fight.”

“Oh god.” Willow gasped. “Guessing this is not a coincidence that the First shows up and the council are not talking.”

“Nope, I think it’s all connected.” Buffy said. “I think we might be alone on this one, Willow is there anything you might be able to find out about the First?”

“Sure I’ll see what I can find out, I’ll go online and see what I can dig up.” Willow said to her. “I’m sure Tara and I can find out something.”

“Thanks Will.” Buffy said. She frowned for a moment then looked at her best friend. “Do you remember when things around here used to be nice and simple and boring?”

“No I don’t.” Willow deadpanned expression on her face. “How’s Min this morning?”

Buffy shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know, she’s still upstairs with Dawn I guess.”

“Poor girl.” Willow said sadly.

“I know, all we can do is be here for her.” Buffy said.

Upstairs in Dawn’s Room

Dawn slowly awoke, she felt warm and cosy cuddled up next to the sleeping form of Min. For a moment she felt totally happy, she had never been this close to anyone in her life. Then she remembered just want had happened last night. Dawn felt a pang of guilt; her girlfriend had just about lost everything dear to her. Here she was thinking of romance and cuddles.

Dawn didn’t want to disturb her, so she just lay there watching her. Min was still in her arms, her chest softly rising and falling with her breathing. “When you wake up, I’ll be here for you.” She whispered softly.

She just lay there for a moment, she caught a glimpse of the time on her bedside clock, and it was nearly 11 in the morning. A few moments later Dawn could feel Min stirring, her eyelids fluttered open. Her dark brown eyes fixed onto Dawn and she smiled.

“Hey Dawn.” She said.

“Hi.” Was all Dawn could manage to say.

Min felt safe and for a brief moment she had forgotten the events of last night, then it hit her. “Oh god.” She said, and the tears began to flow, she felt the terrible emptiness inside her.

Dawn felt her own emotions welling up; she felt the first couple of tears running down her face. She didn’t know what to say so she just pulled Min into her arms and held there. Min wrapped her own arms around Dawn; she buried her head in Dawn’s soft hair.

“I don’t know what to think anymore, everything hurts so bad.” She said.

“I wish I could say something to make you feel better, I am just so sorry.” Dawn said. It brought back the memories of her own mother’s death.

“I’m so sorry.” Dawn said fighting the tears back but she couldn’t, they just began to flow freely down her cheeks.

“Dawn, please don’t leave me.” Min said through her tears. “I don’t want to be alone.”

“I’m not leaving you alone I promise.” Dawn said.

Dawn stayed where she was, not wanting to let go of Min. Dawn just wanted to be there for her, to hold her close and to try and give her a little of her own strength and courage, and just to be there for her.

1630 Revello Drive.

Willow stood alone Buffy’s bedroom, she had felt a little nervous about going into the room, as it was where Tara had died.

She felt a cold chill running through her body looking around at the room. She lowered her down to look the carpet, it had been well cleaned but kneeling down and staring closer she could see a little trace’s of blood on a few of fibre’s. Was it Tara’s blood, was this the spot where she died.

“Willow your shirt.” She heard a distant echo of her lover’s voice in the room. She looked around the room again, but it was empty save for just herself.

She stood up and walked over to the windowpane, she looked out into the garden and saw the bench there. She had seen Buffy and Xander talking right before Warren had come in waving a gun. He had fired a couple of shots, one hitting Buffy and the other hitting Tara.

Buffy had lived the shot had badly injured her, but Tara had died the bullet struck her heart and she died almost instantly. With her finger she traced the outline of one of the windowpanes, it felt cold to the touch.

Closing her eyes for a moment, she breathed out slowly. It was in the past now, Tara was alive. She hoped one day she could meet those who had restored her, but for now she knew she was home.

Home was in the arms of Tara her lover, where she had found some peace at last. The guilt of her murder of Warren and Rack still ached in her heart, but she felt peace whenever she was with Tara.

Tara had forgiven her and she had vowed never to leave her alone again. She was still terrified of her own power, still afraid to use it, in case the darkness tried to take over again. She knew she had to let that go, Tara was alive, and with Tara’s help and love she knew she could win back her confidence and never again fall into darkness.

“Tara, I love you so much sweetie.” Willow whispered softly.

“Hey you.” Tara called to her from the doorway.

“Hey.” Willow replied smiling.

Tara could see the troubled look on her girlfriend’s face, even through the smile. “What’s wrong sweetie?”

Willow broke into a smile. “Nothing now, you’re here.”

Tara approached her and brought her arms around the redhead’s waist. “Memories?” She asked her.

“Yeah, it’s kind of weird being here, I mean this is where you died.” Willow said, her expression sad.

Tara kissed her softly on her lips. “Willow, I’m here, I’m not dead.”

She took one of Willow’s hands and placed it over her breast, Willow could feel the beating of Tara’s heart beneath her breast, the steady rhythm felt like magic to the tips of her fingers.

“See, I’m alive.” Tara breathed softly.

“I love you Tara Maclay.” Willow said gazing into her lovers blue eyes.

“I love you too Willow Danielle Rosenberg.” Tara replied. She paused for a moment then she spoke again. “Hey sorry to break the moment, but Buffy asked me to come find you.”

“Oh, what’s up?” Willow asked her.

“She said can we go into town to get some more shopping, as with Min here, we need a few things more.” Tara said.

“Sure, I think I could use a little fresh air.” Willow said. “Do you think she’ll be ok?”

“Min?”

Willow nodded. “Yeah.”

“Willow right now she might feel so alone but, she isn’t we’re all here for her.” Tara said. “It’s going to be hard, but we can all get her through this.”

Highway leading towards Sunnydale.

The road was pretty clear for a Sunday morning, and Faith was grateful that there where no cops around. Running into the police was the last thing she needed. She was an escaped fugitive and she was driving a car when she didn’t have a licence.

“Hey Jodie, how’s Pia doing?” She asked.

“She’s ok, still sleeping.” Jodie said. “How much further till we reach Sunnydale?”

“I’m not asleep; I’m just resting my eyes.” Pia said quietly. Her comment caused Jodie to laugh; at least she still had her sense of humour.

“Welcome back Pia.” Faith added. “We should be there in an hour, whereabouts do you want me to go once we hit town?”

“Revello Drive, house 1540.” Jodie told her.

“Oh great straight back into the lions den.” Faith muttered to herself. “B’s going sure to hear I am on the loose, and when she does it’s going to be payback time.”

“Don’t worry, Buffy needs you.” Pia said, her voice still shaking, she was still hurting from the injury but she was feeling better.

Faith laughed. “I think she needs me as much as a hole in her head. Sorry girls, but B and I have a little too much history.”

“Faith, we told you, there is a great darkness coming, two slayers are better than one in this fight.” Jodie said, she glanced at Pia. They both shared a nervous glance. They both knew that the two slayers alone where not enough, Willow and Tara where needed more than ever.

“Fine ok, we’ll play nice.” Faith rolled her eyes. “I just hope she doesn’t kick my ass, or you know stab me again.”

“We’ll help in anyway we can, besides I am sure Tara will vouch for me, as long as she can remember who I am.” Pia said.

“Why’s that?”

“My real name is Pia Maclay.” She said. “I’m Tara’s sister.”

“Oh shit.”

As Alan Partridge would say, "And on that bombshell..."

You sure know how to worry a man. I mean when I read your warning I was worried it might mean that the 1st's minions might succeed in killing min, which would have been :sob It was almost a relief when it was Min's mother who died.

I guess it won't be long before Tara finds out how she was brought back. I wonder how she and Willow will react to that.

So the council's been blowed up, but Lydia got out in the nick of time, again. She certainly is lucky, you could almost say she's leading a charmed life.

Looking forward to more. I'm liking these fast updates.

Ok heres the next part
Little sad in places but a surprise at the end

***

Sunnydale High Street

He felt amazing right now, walking along the high street, his dark leather duster flowing around him. He had the cool shades and felt he looked great.

“All right. You’re looking good. How do you feel?” Warren asked him.

“Good.” Andrew replied. “I feel really good.”

Warren rubbed his hands together and grinned. “Excellent. We've got work to do.”

“I have to do work right now? Can't I just walk around for a while in my coat?” Andrew said, he did feel good right now, standing tall and proud.

“Don't go soft on me now. We're right in the trench, and the exhaust ports in sight.” Warren shook his head, and glared at him.

“I thought that was it. I did what you told me. It's not my fault it didn't work. Why do I have to do all the wet works?” Andrew whined, he was beginning to feel unhappy at being used all the time.

Warren stopped “Hey! You know the rules. I can't take corporeal form. Here, feel. Mm-hmm.”

Andrew stopped and looked him up and down, he put out his hand and it went straight through Warren’s chest, he could feel nothing at all. “Cool.” He smiled.

“Pretty bitchin', right? I'm like Obi Wan?” He laughed. “I truly have become more powerful.

“Or Patrick Swayze.” Offered Andrew. “He was so cool.”

“Believe me, I would do this stuff if I could. I can't. I need you. You're my iron fist.” Warren told him, trying to boost Andrews’s confidence.

Andrew just sighed. “I just don't think I can kill anybody else.”

Warren paused and he suddenly morphed into the figure of Jonathan who Andrew had just killed. “Oh, will you stop whining about that?”

“I didn't want to kill you. Warren made me.” Andrew said apologetically.

“Hey, I'm glad he did.” Jonathan laughed. “This is the best thing that's ever happened to me.”
Andrew wasn’t too sure, he folded his arms and glared at the image of his friend. “It didn't hurt too much? I-I'm not very good at stabbing.”

“You know, it wasn't that bad. It was like a sharp pain, then a burning then a general queasiness. It's kinda like when I used to get ulcers in high school, only at the end I became one with light and hope.” Jonathan told him, he was smiling.

“I can't do it. I can't do it anymore.” Andrew protested. He had hated seeing his own arm plunged the knife deep into his best friend’s stomach.

Jonathan looked sympathetic and shrugged his shoulders. “Hey, this isn't your fault, Ok. It's my fault the ritual didn't work. I screwed up. I'm little, I I don't have as much blood as other people. And I probably should've told someone I was anaemic. Don't worry. We're gonna fix it. You gotta trust us. We know what we're doing.” He told him.

“I can't kill anybody else.” Andrew looked pensive.

“Ok, calm down. We can work around that.” Jonathan said nodding. “I have an idea we can try.”

***

Sunnydale Town Center.

“It’s pretty busy for a Sunday.” Tara commented, she had never seen so many people for what would normally be a quiet day in town.

“Well most Sunday’s we didn’t really come into town much did we.” Willow grinned. “We had other things on our minds.”

Tara smiled. “I remember.”

Tara took Willow’s hand in her own, it was nice to get out again, and with an extra houseguest they did need some extra supplies.

“Been a strange week I think.” Tara admitted.

“Strange in most places, but for Sunnydale it’s pretty normal.” Willow said.

Tara smiled. “I wonder where Mr Giles is, I haven’t seen him since well, and I came back. I hope he’s ok.”

Willow nodded. “I hope so too, Buffy was a little wigged that she couldn’t get through to the council this morning.” Willow stopped and touched her girlfriend’s sleeve. “Tara when this is all over what do you want to do?”

“Willow what do you mean?” Tara asked her.

“If we survive this I mean, I was thinking we could leave Sunnydale and go to England maybe?” Willow said. “I think you would love it there, the coven there where just amazing.”

Tara just smiled. “I think so, it would be nice to see some of the world, and do you think we could get married there?”

Willow smiled. “I would love that, I wonder if…” She noticed that Tara was staring at something. “Tara what’s wrong?”

“Nothing, Willow looked at those outfits.” Tara said pointing to the shop over the other side of the road. “They are so pretty, I think we would look great getting married in them.”

Willow looked at them, they where beautiful outfits for sure. “I like them. Maybe we could go check them out, you know find out how much they cost.”

Tara nodded. “It’s a shame the shop is closed today, we could go in and maybe try them on.”

“Maybe tomorrow, although I was thinking about heading back to College to maybe restart my classes up.” Willow said.

Tara smiled. “I think I would like to do that too, although not sure if they let dead people go back to school.”

Willow looked sad for a moment she reached out and touched her girlfriends arm. “Tara sweetie you’re not dead.”

“I know, but I guess when I was killed my scholarship was dropped.” She said frowning. “Sorry Willow, I don’t know if they could let me back in.”

“I could always hack into there computers and you know, put you back into there.” Willow grinned. “That is without me using magic, just good old fashioned hacker skills.”

“Willow, that’s naughty.” Tara said, trying to give Willow her best stern look. It lasted about two seconds before she giggled. “I think maybe, I would like to go back to classes.”

Willow smiled. “I’ll talk to college first and see if they can take you back, as you know you’re alive.”

Tara wrapped one arm around her girlfriend’s waist, turning to face her lover she leaned in close and kissed her. Willow lost herself for a moment, enjoying the passion of her lover’s kiss.

“That was nice.” Willow said smiling, after they had broken the kiss.

Tara took Willow’s hand and they started walking towards the store, they had a lot of items to get and thankfully Willow had been able to borrow Buffy’s car for the trip. She wanted to get the shopping done, and get it back to Buffy, and see how Min was coping with the loss of her parents.

“Tara, on the way back is it ok if drop the stuff off at Buffy’s place and then go see my mom and dad?” Willow asked her, she hadn’t seen her own folks in a while, and with recent events she felt it would be nice to say hello again.

“Sure ok, we can do that.” Tara told her.

“Thanks, I just think after what happened I better say hi.” Willow admitted. “Do you want to talk to your family, you know let them know your ok?”

Tara shook her head. “They pretty much disowned me, after the whole demon thing, I’ve not seen them since that day.” Tara paused for a moment. “Willow, did they come to my funeral?”

Willow looked sad for a moment and shook her head. “No, sorry they didn’t, I’m so sorry sweetie.”

Tara smiled. “Don’t be, you, Buffy, Dawn and Xander are my family, that’s all that matters to me now.”

Willow pulled Tara close and hugged her close. “You will always have us.”

Tara returned the embrace. “I just hope that we can help Min, she needs people around her now.”

“She has us, and she has Dawn, it will take time but she’ll be ok.” Willow reassured Tara.

***

1630 Revello Drive.

Buffy put the phone down again; she had still been unable to contact the watchers council in England. She had to admit it was now beginning to worry her, she had no luck in getting hold of Giles either.

“I hope he’s ok.” She muttered to herself.

Her thoughts where broken when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs, she looked to see Dawn and Min coming down. Buffy felt a little lump in her throat as seeing the young girl; she couldn’t help but notice Dawn had one arm wrapped tightly around Min’s waist. Min too had her arm around Dawn; it made Buffy smile a little to see her sister taking such loving care of the girl she had only just started to date.

“Hi Min, how are you feeling this morning? Can I get you anything?” Buffy asked her. She saw that Min’s eyes where red from crying, Dawn too had been crying. Buffy could feel the emotion welling within her to, it was hard not to just cry, but she held it back.

Min managed a weak smile at Buffy. “Hi, um tea would be nice, thank you.”

Buffy turned to Dawn, “Hi Dawn, do you want some Tea?”

Dawn nodded. “Thank you.”

Buffy turned to leave them for a moment, when Min stopped her. “Buffy, I never thanked you for saving my life.” She said.

“Anytime, I know this is not really the right time, but you did well too. Your watcher taught you very well.” Buffy said. “I’m just so sorry for your loss.”

Min didn’t say anything, but from her eyes, Buffy could see the gratitude. She nodded and then Dawn led her into the lounge, Buffy watched them for a moment then disappeared into the kitchen to make them some tea.

Dawn and Min sat down on the sofa, they had sat down together still holding hands, Dawn refused to let go of Min, she knew that just her touch would at least let Min was not alone, she was there for her.

“Min do you want anything to eat?” Dawn offered her. “Is there anything I can get you?”

“I’m not that hungry right now, but thanks.” Min told her, she tightened her grip a little on Dawn’s hand. “Just stay with me please.”

“I can do that.” Dawn said smiling. “I haven’t talked to Buffy about it yet, but I’m going to ask her to let you stay in with me. Ok?”

Min nodded. “I’d like that, god with everything that’s happened to me in my life, you’re the one thing that makes sense. I’m so glad I met you Dawn, your amazing, a very special girl.”

“So are you Min, I know the timing is off, but I really care about you.” Dawn told her, she softly stroked her arm. “We’re going to get through this I know.”

Min pulled Dawn into a hug embracing her girlfriend tight, she felt the warmth of Dawn’s body against her own and she felt peace a little peace in her heart. Min knew she was right about Dawn, she was the one, that even in the darkness of her grief, she had a light in the gloom and it was Dawn.

Buffy came out of the kitchen carrying a tray with two cups of tea; she saw Min and Dawn embracing on the sofa. She felt a warm glow, any fears about Dawn dating this girl disappeared, and at last she had maybe found someone special in her life. Buffy felt a little pang of sorrow, as she would like to find that too.

“Hey girls, I brought you both some tea.” Buffy said smiling warmly at them.

“Thanks Buffy.” Min said. She looked at the slayer for a moment then spoke again. “Buffy, what is this First Evil that killed my parents and my watcher?

Buffy took a deep breath and sat down in the chair. “I’m not too sure, but we think the First is the source of all evil. I’ve been trying to contact the watchers council but I can’t get through.”

“Why my parents?” Min said, she had to ask.

Buffy looked sad. “I wish I knew Min, I wish I know, but whatever the reason, we’re going to stop it.”

Min looked straight at her, still with one arm around her girlfriend. “I want to help anyway I can, I may only be a potential slayer but I can help you.”

Buffy could see the stern resolve in the girl’s eyes, this was not the time to argue with her, and so for now she just nodded. “Sure, thanks.” She looked at Dawn for a moment then returned her gaze to Min. “Min, we will find out what is going on believe me.”

“I know.” Min nodded.

They where interrupted by a knock at the door, Buffy got up off the chair to and opened the front door to see Willow and Tara standing there with several bags of shopping.

“Hey Willow, Tara, did you buy the whole town?” Buffy asked seeing the large number of bags.

“We would have.” Willow grinned. “But we couldn’t get the town in the car.”

“Might need a bigger car next time.” Tara smiled. She picked up a few of the bags and took them into the kitchen, Willow took a few and Buffy managed the rest by herself.

As they started to unpack the shopping, Tara turned to Buffy. “How’s Min doing?”

“She’s ok, she’s strong and holding it together, although I know Dawn is helping a lot too.” Buffy told her.

“Dawnie’s really changing.” Tara said. “She’s going to be Min’s support for a while, and I can tell they really adore each other.”

“I noticed, they are as bad as you two for cuddling.” Buffy pouted. “God I hope when they get further in their relationship, I don’t hear. Oh Goddess, all night.” Buffy teased.

Tara flushed a shade of red, Willow just stared open mouthed at her best friend. “Buffy.” They both said together.

“Hey don’t look at me, I am not the one making the noises.” Buffy said innocently.

“Wait until you find someone, then we can tease you.” Willow said giving her a wicked grin. “And we will.”

Buffy decided to change the subject fast, remembering the time she and Riley got a little too involved with each other and everything went crazy around them. “Well I am going to do a patrol tonight, see if there are any new vamps in town.”

Willow was still frowning at her, but she nodded. “Sure, good idea.”

“I’m going to see what else I can find out about the First.” Buffy told them. “Ask around, maybe you two can do a locator spell to find demonic activity in town.”

Willow looked unsure, she was still a little too nervous about attempting magic again. Tara could feel her girlfriend’s apprehension at the idea, put her hand on Willow’s shoulder.

“Willow, we can do it, so don’t worry. I’ll be there to steady you.” Tara told her.

Willow smiled at her lover. “Sure.” She turned to Buffy. “Tara and I will do it.”

“Thanks, I hope maybe we can found out how bad things are gonna get around here.”

Late Afternoon 1540 Revello Drive.

“Nice place you got here Jodie, I like it.” Faith said admiring the décor. “My god this sure beats prison, so where do I bunk down?” She said laughing. “I’m sure as hell not sleeping with you two.”

Jodie just stared at her a little annoyed. “Faith, do you mind.”

“Hey lighten up I was just kidding, I know you two are an item don’t worry I am not going to try and steal your girl.” Faith said, she sighed and stood in front of the young woman. “Pia is your girlfriend, I know that.”

Jodie relaxed a little. “Sorry, I guess a little of the green eyed monster came out, I know you and her have a little history.”

Faith stopped her there. “Yeah, see history as in the past, she was my first girl, but I’ve moved on and I know she loves you, so please don’t mind me, I tend to shoot my mouth off a little too much.”

Jodie laughed; she put her on the slayers arm and gave her a reassuring squeeze. “Do you ever want to settle down with someone?” She asked the dark haired girl.

“Yeah course I do, just never met the right guy.” She said, and then corrected herself. “Or girl.”

Pia was sitting on the sofa her arm in a sling; she was tired but feeling only a little pain now. She just wanted to rest to prepare herself for tomorrow, when she would finally meet up with her sister again after so many years.

She hadn’t seen or spoken to Tara for a long time; Pia like Tara had both developed their mother’s talents for witchcraft, although Tara had been naturally a lot stronger than her.

Pia had run away when she was 15, leaving her slightly younger sister alone. Donny and their father had tormented both girls, but Pia couldn’t stand it any longer she just left. Tara was stronger and finally left home after getting a scholarship at Sunnydale.

She had become a Wiccan when she heard that her sister had met a very powerful witch called Willow. Pia joined a group dedicated to fighting evil no matter the cost. When she heard of Tara’s death, she had been devastated, but when two seers who planned to bring her back approached her. Pia couldn’t wait to go ahead, although the price was high, she knew that only Tara with Willow could stop possibly stop it.

Pia just wanted to meet her again, see her sister for the first time in 7 years. “Soon.” She thought to herself.

Jodie could see her sister deep in thought. “Are you ok sweetheart?” She asked her.

Pia smiled at her girlfriend. “I am, just looking forward to seeing Tara again after all these years.”

Jodie sat down on the sofa beside her lover; she put her hand on her knee and smiled. “Not long now, there is so much to do. Faith is here, Willow and Tara are together, and just one more person and we are ready.”

“I hope we can find her.” Pia said.

“We will.” Jodie reassured her.

Faith walked up to them. “Wait a minute, who is this other one?”

1630 Revello Drive.

Buffy sat on the kitchen just drinking a cup of coffee; she had the stereo on just listening to some relaxing music. Dawn and Min where sitting in the garden talking. She could see them from where she sat; they looked so good together.

Willow and Tara where upstairs they had been over to see Willow’s parents, it was a brief visit but Willow had felt happy she had taken the time to go see them. They where sitting in the lounge just talking, she felt so alone right now.

“I hope I find someone soon.” She whispered quietly to herself. Her thought’s where interrupted by the phone ringing. “Oh great who’s this.”

She picked up the phone. “Hello?”

“Buffy it’s Xander.”

“Oh hey Xander how’s it going?” Buffy asked him, her mood brightening up a little. “

“Well could be better, I was talking to a couple of the guys and they have heard that there are a lot of people missing at the moment.” He told her.

“Missing people?” Buffy said, her cheery mood evaporating in an instant. “What do you mean?”

“I just heard that its a few women, and a couple of guys, all vanished over the past few nights. Something’s up Buff.” He told her.

“Ok thanks for the heads up, I’ll do a big patrol tonight to see if I can find out anything, or for the hell of it, beat up Willy for a giggle.” Buffy said.

“Need any help?” Xander asked her. Buffy could tell he was a little bored.

“Nah it’s ok, but if I need anything I’ll scream ok?” Buffy said.

Xander sounded a little disappointed. “Ok sure Buff, I’ll catch you later.”

Buffy heard him put the phone down; she switched it off and went into the lounge. Willow was watching television with Tara’s head in her lap. The redhead was gently stroking her girlfriends hair, the peaceful expression on Tara’s face showed how happy she was. Buffy felt a little guilty for having to disturb them.

“Hey guys, I think we might have a problem?”

Tara sat up and both wiccans turned to Buffy. “What’s wrong Buffy?” Willow asked her.

“Xander just called, he said that there were a few people missing all over town, I wonder if it’s connected to the First showing up?” Buffy told her.

“Tara and I could look it up on the internet to see if there is anything going on?” Willow suggested helpfully.

Buffy nodded. “Sure thanks, did you two guys do the locator spell?”

Tara shook her head. “Not yet, Willow and I will do it a little later this evening.”

“Great thanks.” Buffy said,

“Willow, I’ll go get your laptop from the bedroom ok?” Tara said, she got up and left Buffy and Willow alone for a moment.

“Hey Will, with all that’s been going on, I haven’t had a chance to ask you how have you been coping since Tara’s return?” Buffy asked her.

Willow smiled. “I know it’s been busy, and I’ve hardly left Tara’s side since she got back.”

Buffy laughed. “I kinda noticed that.”

“Oh Buffy, it’s just amazing, she’s really back. Some days it feels like a dream or something, but I know it’s real. Tara’s everything to me, and having her back is just the most amazing thing ever. I love her so much Buffy.” Willow said, completely switching into her babble mode. “I’ve never been so happy.”

“I’m glad Will, I really am.” Buffy said smiling. “I missed her too; she’s a part of our family. She’s very special Willow; you’re a very lucky girl.”

“I am, considering what I did last year misuse of magic, almost killing Dawn. Then losing my mind when Tara was shot, Buffy I did so much wrong last year.” Willow told her, once again feeling the guilt.

“Willow, we know but it’s in the past now.” Buffy said to her, putting her hand on the redhead’s knee.

“I know, when I told Tara what I had done, I half expected her to leave me, but Buffy she didn’t she promised to help me, to guide me.” Willow said with a little tear in her eye.

“That’s because she loves you so much.” Buffy said.

“I know, I love her too.” Willow smiled. “I’m still worried about my magic, but I know Tara will be there to help me.” Willow said. “She’s my girl.”

“And you’re hers.” Buffy told her.

Sunnydale Cemetery Later that evening.

Buffy stood next to the gravestone that had once held the name of Tara Maclay, it was blank now. She knew herself what it was like to be buried, and suddenly find yourself alive again. She was just glad Tara never had to claw her way out of her own coffin.

The memory of that experience still gave her nightmares from time to time. It had been a terrible experience to go through, and for someone who had pulled from heaven and then had to fight her way out of a coffin was just hell.

Still she had come to terms with her rebirth, and she was happy again apart from being alone. Tara too had been reborn, given a second chance at life at least she and the blonde witch had something unique in common now.

“Welcome back Tara.” She whispered to no one, she gently touched the top of the gravestone and then moved on to see if she could find any sign of a recent burial.

It didn’t take her long to find a human sized patch of disturbed earth, it was a grave, unmarked and it appeared to be recent. She felt a little pang of sadness for the person who lay there.

Buffy sat by the edge of the shallow grave she had found, the earth was unbroken but she knew that soon a new vampire would rise and she would once again have to stake it.

“Well ready when you are.” She said quietly to the patch of earth.

She sat patiently waiting for a little while, just wondering when the vampire would appear. It wasn’t long, when a hand burst through the soil and moments later another hand appeared.

Buffy watched as the vampire’s head emerged and struggle to free itself of the ground. The vampire was young too, appearance of a 17 year old male. She felt sad for the young man, his life cruelly snatched away and now reborn as a vampire he would be dust soon.

“Rise and shine.” She said coolly to the vampire.

The vampire had now pulled himself free of his grave, and he turned snarling to Buffy his ‘game’ face on. Buffy’s eyes went wide as she recognised the face of the young man who Dawn was infatuated with a while ago Richard his name was.

The vampire rushed her but Buffy was ready for him, she grabbed his arm with one hand and with the other hand in a fist she swung it hard into the vampires face. He went down in an instant, but before Buffy could reach for her stake, the vampire kicked out with a leg and caught Buffy, she fell down.

“Shit! She said.

The vampire got to his feet and growled; before he could get any closer Buffy pulled the same trick and kicked out with her leg, bringing the vampire down. With lightening speed she had grabbed her stake and was ready to thrust it down into the demons heart, when the face morphed back into the human form.

“You’re Buffy Summers, Dawn’s sister.” He said, glowering at her. “I remember you.”

“Oh yay me, I’m famous.” She said sarcastically. “Sorry I don’t really care much for vampire fanboys.” She instantly thought of Angel and Spike the two vampires that she had dated or slept with. “Well not many.” She thought to herself.

“You’re gonna die Summers, you know that.” He said with an evil leer. “And when I kill you, I am going to kill Dawn for turning me down and that girlfriend of hers.”

“I’m the one the stake here stupid.” Buffy reminded him.

He rolled to the side; just as she swung down with the stake she hit the dirt with it. Richard lashed out again with his feet, trying to knock Buffy down, but she was ready for him. She jumped into the air and did a somersault over him. He quickly tried to get to his feet, but his face met the fist of the slayer and he went down again.

Buffy grabbed him by the neck and then raised the stake to thrust it again; before she could strike she was knocked to the ground by another two vampires that had suddenly appeared.

“Goddamn it.” She shouted out.

“God has nothing to do with this slayer.” A female vampire told her. “You are the one who is damned.”

“Oh shut up.” Buffy threw back at her. “Stupid lame assed vampire.”

The other vampire grabbed her arm, and wrestled the stake free, the female lunged at her but Buffy kicked out and her foot hit the vampire square in her chest, she went down hard.

“Hey bitch, you got mud all over my outfit.” The vampire said. “That’s going to ruin it now.”

Before Buffy could get a reply out the second vampire that had knocked her stake free, and pinned her arms behind her. The female vampire had gotten to her feet and was slowly approaching her.

“I’m going to make you suffer for ruining my dress.” She said.

“What listening to you whine on about it all night?” Buffy threw back at her. “Don’t suppose you’re related to Cordelia Chase are you?”

Buffy struggled to free herself from the other vampire’s grip, but he was a large man and very strong. Buffy tried to kick out again, but this time the female vampire was ready, she sidestepped the kick and within a heartbeat she was just inches away from Buffy. Her fangs closed in on her neck, Buffy struggled again but the vampire that held her had her tight in his grip.

“Sorry slayer you lose.” The woman said.

“No you do.” Another voice said a female voice that Buffy recognised from somewhere.

Buffy saw the pain the vampire girl’s expression and moments later she crumbled to dust. Buffy stared at the woman who had just saved her life, someone she didn’t expect to see for a long time.

“Faith.”

Ok next part posted.
***********

“Hey B, long time no see.” Faith grinned. “Damn it that rhymes too.”

Buffy said nothing she just glared at the dark haired slayer, still clad in her trademark leather pants, and leather jacket. A dark blue top that fully accented her breasts.

“Hey B, duck.” Faith shouted and Buffy instant remember the vampire that still pinned her arms and held her tight. Buffy summoned all her strength and she ducked her head, just in time too as Faith threw a hard punch that connected with the vampire’s jaw sending him backwards.

Buffy felt his grip on her loosen and she broke free of him, she kicked out backwards and hit him in the groin, he went down groaning.

“Nice kick B,” Faith commented.

Buffy didn’t reply she just looked around for the stake she had dropped, but realised that Faith had picked it up and staked the woman with it.

“Catch.” Faith said and through the stake to Buffy.

Buffy caught it and in a second twirled round and drove the stake deep into the vampire’s chest, he exploded into dust so close to Buffy that she caught a lung full and started coughing.

“Damn it.” She muttered to herself. “Why can’t they dust without giving you a lung full?”

She quickly looked around for any sign of Richard, but he was gone run off somewhere no doubt when he saw the appearance of the second slayer. She turned back to face Faith, who was just standing there looking at her. Faith wasn’t making any threatening moves, so Buffy relaxed a little.

“I thought you where in jail?” Buffy said, folding her arms.

Faith just shrugged her shoulders. “So much for the warm welcome. I got busted out but a couple of witches. They told me I was needed her, something to do with a big evil coming.”

Buffy raised an eyebrow. “Willow and Tara?” She asked her, and then shook her head. “No it couldn’t be, they haven’t been gone long enough. Who did it?”

“They belong to some coven, they fight evil and shit, look B, I am not here to be a thorn in your side, they told him some big assed demon is working his mojo around Sunnydale, they said I was needed so here I am.” Faith told her. “Hey are you going to say thank you for saving your ass tonight?”

Buffy ignored the comment, she wanted to know more. “Faith there is something happening, god this week is getting weirder and weirder.”

“Gee thanks, been called a lot of shit in my time, but never weird.” Faith said a little hurt.

“Not you, first Tara showing up alive, then Spike getting a soul, Min’s parents being murdered and the First showing up.” Buffy told her.

“Who’s Min? New boyfriend?” Faith asked her.

Buffy laughed for a moment. “No, Min is a girl, she’s dating Dawn.”

Faith stared open mouthed at her. “Little brat sister is dating girls now huh.”

Buffy glared at her. “She’s not a brat; she’s grown up a lot.”

“Look B, this is great and all, but what the hell is the First.” Faith asked her.

“We know very little Faith, other than its here and it had Min’s parents killed. I think it’s something do with her being a potential slayer.” Buffy explained.

Faith’s eyes widened, could this be the other one that Pia had mentioned, the potential slayer. She didn’t let it show on her face that she knew. “Ok B, look I know you and I aren’t the best of friends and I don’t suppose we ever will be, but I can feel something bad is brewing here, and its way bigger than you and me and I have a feeling it’s going to get nasty.”

Buffy nodded. “I know, I can sense it too.” She wasn’t sure she could trust her, but in this fight she knew was coming she would need all the help she could get. “Ok Faith, just one thing though, who are these two witches?”

“You’ll meet them soon, just be gentle to Pia she’s kind of the fragile one.” Faith told her, she wasn’t going to mention that Pia was Tara’s older sister just yet; she thought it best to leave that surprise to Pia herself.

“Fine.” Buffy said. “Faith, I got to ask where are you staying. Some motel or something?”

Faith shook her head. “No I am staying with some friends, so everything’s five by five.”

Buffy sighed. “Well I’m going home; see what Willow and Tara have found out.” She said. She then smiled at Faith. “Oh and thanks for saving my ass.”

“Don’t sweat it B.” Faith grinned. “Nice ass to save.” She thought to herself.

“Well let’s hope with two slayers around, things get a little better around here.” Buffy said. She couldn’t help feel though that things where going to get a lot worse.

***

Sunnydale High School Basement.

Andrew stared in horror at his friend Warren who stood there grinning evilly at him. He was tied to a wheel; the strange hooded men who had strange symbols burned into where their eyes should be had tied him there.

“I thought you said we could work around it.” Andrew said. “I don’t want to die.”

“You blew it, so this is your way of making things better.” Warren grinned. “Besides, hello I’m evil so not really going to play nice now am I?”

“Will it hurt?” Andrew asked, he was totally terrified now.

“I certainly hope so.” Warren sneered at him.

Andrew could feel the wheel being lifted up around him now; he had never felt so scared in his life. Well apart from the time a very dark haired Willow Rosenberg had come after him and Jonathan several months ago.

“Don’t worry Andrew; soon you will be with Jonathan again.” Warren told him.

“Oh god.” Andrew said, tears running down his face.

“Oh I’m not god.” Warren said, he then morphed into the figure of Buffy Summers. “Too bad you didn’t work out more Andrew, you don’t look as good as say Spike with your shirt off.”

“Don’t say that, you’re hurting my feelings.” Andrew said crying.

“Trust me this is going to hurt a lot more.” The apparition of Buffy told him.

Without warning Andrew felt a sharp pain in his belly, he could see a knife sticking into his belly, the blood running down the blade. It slowly dripped and began to pool on the metal disk beneath him.

Andrew could feel himself losing consciousness, the pain was so intense. He could barely see the seal opening being below him, he caught a glimpse of a dark leather clad hand with long gnarled fingernails thrust its way out of the darkness. A second hand emerged.

Buffy grinned as the hideous creature emerged from the now open disk, it was vampire but one of the first original vampires untainted by human blood. The deep sunken eyes, the long fangs appeared to exude evil.

“I’m sorry Jonathan.” Andrew whispered, then with a gasp he felt the world go black around him, and the blood flow began to stop.

Below his body, the creature snarled and all Buffy could do was smile, for soon the potential and the fallen slayer would be dead.

“Things are looking up.” She said.

Morning 1630 Revello Drive.

Buffy sat in the kitchen just picking at her scrambled eggs; she hadn’t really stopped thinking about last night. The encounter with the two vampires that nearly killed her and the fact Faith was back in town had kept her up most of the night.

She rolled up her sleeve and saw the bruises fading on her arm, the vampire that held her had certainly left his mark on her. Still one vampire had gotten away, and she needed to find him.

That could wait until the evening though, he would likely hide during the day. The appearance of Faith though was the main thing on the slayers mind.

She did wonder about the wiccans that Faith had mentioned, but it was the dark haired slayer that worried her the most. Still she had saved her life so that had to count for something.

“Hey Buffy.” Willow said brightly as she stepped into the kitchen, Tara was close behind her.

“Hi Buffy, how did the patrol go?” Tara asked her.

“Not my finest hour, one vampire got away, and the other two nearly killed me.” Buffy said sombrely

“Oh god, are you alright?” Willow asked her. “What happened?”

“Well let’s say things around here are a little more interesting right now, Faith’s back in town.” Buffy told her.

Willow went slightly pale. “Oh no, she didn’t hurt you did she?” Willow asked her, and then she added. “Wait a minute I thought she was in jail?”

“She was, a couple of witches busted her out and sent her here to… You’re going to love this Will, help us.” Buffy said.

“She told you all this and you believe her?” Willow asked her.

Tara placed her hand on Willow’s shoulder; she could sense a little anger in her lover. At her girlfriends touch Willow relaxed a little and she calmed down.

“Will, she saved my life last night, if it hadn’t been for her showing up that vampire would have sucked me dry.” Buffy said. “I don’t know if I trust her, but I think I believe her.”

Willow still wasn’t too sure, but for now she would accept Buffy’s word. She hadn’t forgotten the time Faith while in Buffy’s body had insulted Tara. “Well I hope she is here to help.”

“I think so, she said she’d patrol with me tonight” Buffy said.

“Just be careful Buffy.” Willow warned her.
Buffy heard a pair of footsteps coming down the stairs, Dawn and Min entered the kitchen holding hands.

“Hey.” Dawn said.

Min smiled at them. “Hey everyone.”

“Hey Dawn, morning Min how are you feeling today?” Buffy asked her, she took another sip of her coffee.

“Not too bad, better than I could be thanks to your sister.” Min told her.

Dawn smiled and gave her girlfriend a light kiss on the cheek. “Min you’re a peach.”

“Well in that case, you can squeeze me later.” Min said and winked at her.

Buffy choked on her coffee at that remark, coffee sprayed onto the table. Willow and Tara where glad they were out of range. Buffy tried to think of something to say but words failed her.

Willow just giggled and lightly patted Tara’s bum, Tara just smiled at her girlfriend. “Buff, good tip, don’t try and breathe and drink at once.”

Buffy finished coughing and then stared at the two wiccans. “Thanks I’ll remember that.”

They heard a knocking at the door, Buffy stood up and went to find out who it was. She wondered if it was Faith along with her two Wiccan friends.

She opened the door to see Giles standing there a smile on his face, and he reached up and removed his glasses. “Hello Buffy.”

“Giles, this is a surprise, what’s up?”

Before he could say anything three girls appeared in the doorway and walked into the house past a stunned Buffy. The first girl, who had loud brightly coloured tops, her hair in pigtails smiled at her. “Hi, nice place you got, bit of a mess though.”

Buffy just glared at her, then a second girl walked in to the house, attractive, blue top, she said nothing just smiled and walked in past Buffy.

The third girl, Chinese in origin, with long black hair, walked into the house and just gave Buffy the once over. “You’re a real slayer, with all the super powers?” She asked.

Buffy nodded, and regarded the pretty young woman. “Yeah that would be me.”

“So where’s your cape?” She asked her grinning.

Buffy laughed at the comment, the girl then joined the other three in the house. She turned back to her former watcher.

“Giles what’s going on?” She asked him.

“It seems we have a slight apocalypse going on.” He said sadly.

Buffy listened to Giles explain about the watchers council being destroyed, the attacks on the potential slayers around the world, and the First Evil rising.

Dawn spoke. “They’re all slayers?”

“Potential slayers. Waiting for one to be called. There were many more like them all over the world, but, now there's just a handful, and they're all on their way to Sunnydale.” Giles told them.

“So it’s The First, it wants to destroy all the slayers.” Buffy said, she was horrified. “Wait a minute all coming here?”

“Yes, to erase all the slayers in training and their watchers along with their methods.” Giles explained.

“And then Faith, and then me. And with all the potentials gone and no way of making another, it's the end. No more slayers. Ever.” Buffy said solemnly. She turned to Min this had to the reason the First had sent the bringers to her home to kill her and her family.

Min felt her knees weaken a little, she sat down on the sofa, and Dawn sat down next to her and held her hand.

Willow spoke up. “But we haven't found any information on The First. No documentation or anything, I just wish we knew something.”

Tara nodded. “Willow and I tried looking it up but found nothing.”

“That's because it predates any written history, and it rarely shows its true face. The only record I know was in the Council Library.” Giles told them. He faced Tara and smiled warmly at her. “Hello Tara, It’s so good to see you again, wonderful to see you alive.”

Tara returned the smile. “Thank you Mr Giles, It’s nice to be here.”

Min spoke up. “What about the Council? Do they have anything to say about this?”

Giles removed his glassed. “I’m afraid they’re gone.”

Min’s eyes went wide. “What do you mean gone?”

“Obliterated. They were in session, and, uh, there was an explosion.” Giles answered her.

“That means all the Council's records are-are destroyed?” Willow said shocked. She took Tara’s hand and gripped it firmly, they shared a nervous glance.

“Annabelle.” Giles said, the blonde girl who seemed very quiet opened up her bag and removed a couple of large books and some files and placed them down on the table. Tara and Willow picked up a few of the files and began to look through them.

“That's what's left. The mystic secrets of the Watchers. And whatever I could find on The First. When I learned what was happening, I I, um, I stole them.” Giles admitted.

“What and then blew up the council.” Min said glaring at him.

“No I didn't. Must've been an agent of The First, after my little burglary session. The knowledge contained in these files had to be protected, and there wasn't time for-for bureaucracy or debate. The Council knows no other way.” Giles said, he cleaned his glasses with the edge of his shirt.

“So what do these records say about The First?” Buffy asked him

“Uh, very little. It can change form. Uh, it only appears in the guise of someone who's passed away.” Giles told them.

Min remembered seeing the form of her mother at the house tormenting her. “My mom.” She said softly, a little tear in her eye.

“Also it's not corporeal. It can't touch or fight on its own. It only works through those it manipulates. And its followers, the Bringers.” Giles explained.

“Those freaks in the black robes.” The young Chinese girl said.

“Yeah, with the hoodies and the crazy alphabet eyes. I never saw 'em, I just heard—“ The pigtailed girl said, in her thick cockney accent.

“Shh! Molly, Mr. Giles doesn't need us prattling on.” Annabelle said, chastising her.

Giles sat down on the edge of the couch. “The First is unlike anything we've faced before. I mean, there's evil and then there's the thing that created evil, the source.”

“And that's what this thing claims to be?” Buffy asked him.

“That's what it is. It has eternities to act, endless resources.” Giles stood up. “How to defeat it. I I honestly I don't know. But we have to find a way. If the slayer line is eliminated, then the hell mouth has no guardian. The balance is destroyed. I'm afraid it falls to you, Buffy. Sorry. I mean, we'll do what we can, but you're the only one who has the strength to protect these girls and the world against what's coming.” Giles told her, his voice low.

“Oh lucky me.” Buffy said sarcastically.

“I’m not liking this idea? I saw what those bringer guys can do. They tore apart my parents.” Min said. “I saw their bodies.”

“Of course we'll use all our resources.” Giles tried his best to reassure her.

“I don’t like this one bit, I mean why can’t we just get out of here, escape the hellmouth. I’d feel better if we just upped and left town.” Min said, venting some of her emotions. “I’m not losing my girlfriend Dawn to all this.”

“Min’s right. But one way or another we are going to stop this.” Buffy said. “I’m not losing anyone else to this thing.”

“Hellmouth, does anyone have anything more creative to call it?” The Chinese girl said. “Sounds kinda lame.”

“Leilani.” Annabel said. “Hush.”

Leilani glared at her, and stuck her tongue out at the girl.

Tara ran her hand through her hair. “Well looks like we have some more houseguests.” She turned to Willow whose smile had faded.

“There go our chance for snuggles for tonight.” Willow said sadly. “Unless we can keep them all in Buffy and Dawn’s room.” She added grinning.

“Vixen.” Tara laughed.

“Hey!” Dawn protested. “My room is for Min and me only.”

Giles stared at her for a moment; he took off his glasses and polished them with a cloth. Buffy caught the look on his face and then burst out laughing. “Long story Giles.” She said.

“I’m dating a girl.” Dawn said.

“Ok maybe not that long.” Buffy pouted.

Giles just smiled at them both, he then turned to face Tara. “Tara, it really is a miracle to see you alive and well. I can’t tell you how much I missed you.”

Tara wrapped her arms around him and hugged him close. “Thank you Mr Giles, I’m glad you’re ok too, we were worried about you.”

“I was lucky.” He turned to Willow. “How are you coping with all this?”

“Better than anything, Tara and I got engaged.” Willow said beaming. “It’s like a dream come true, the woman I love so much is with me I feel like I am whole again.”

“Congratulations both of you.” He said smiling, he then gave them a more serious look. “Willow, Tara I have a special task for you if you are up to it.”

“Sure what’s up?” Willow asked him.

“I heard a rumour that there is another potential slayer in Sunnydale, she has lived here for a while, and I need you both to try and find her.” He said to them.

“A spell?” Willow asked him, she looked at him nervously. “What kind of spell?”

“Yes and I know you can both do it, you just need to locate the potential slayer.” He told them.

Willow smiled at him. “It’s Min, we know who it is.”

Giles shook his head. “No, we know about Min this is someone who has lived here a little while.” He said. “Willow trust in yourself, you will be fine, this is not a difficult spell.”

Willow smiled at him. “We’ll do it, just hope the poor girl is ready for this.”

1540 Revello Drive

Jodie had left Pia sleeping on their bed; she was still a little tired following the ordeal rescuing Faith and her being shot. The bullet wound was healing up nicely though.

Tomorrow she and Pia would go and see Willow and Tara, they both had mixed feelings about it, on the one hand it would be amazing to see them together, but for Pia it would be very hard. Pia had a lot of explaining to do, and Tara would most likely want a lot of answers. But the hardest part was having to tell Tara how she was resurrected and the price it had cost.

Rachel and Alison where good friends of theirs, both fairly powerful wiccans too. Jodie missed them both, both girls had been loyal members of the coven, and they willing given their lives so that Tara could return to Willow, and fulfil the prophecy.

“Hope you two girls are in good hands where you are.” Jodie said softly. “Although I feel sorry for anyone else who has to put up with Rachel’s yammering.” Remember that her friend tended always talked far too much.

“What’s that Jodie?” Faith asked as she walked out of the kitchen with a large bag of potato chips.

“Sorry Faith was just thinking out loud.” Jodie said.

Faith shrugged her shoulders. “Thinking, I don’t do that too much, damn hurts my brain.” She laughed.

Jodie managed a smile. “How was Buffy last night?” She asked her.

“Not too happy to see me again, which is not a surprise, but least she didn’t gut me with a knife this time?” Faith said, she sighed. “I’m going to meet up with her later. Do another patrol, might try and talk to her.”

“Hope she listens.” Jodie said.

“Well B, is not big on the listening she’s more hey do what I say.” Faith said. “Don’t sweat it, I’ll work it out I always do.”

“Faith you don’t have to be alone in this.” Jodie told her.

“Jodie, look I’ve spent my whole life fending for myself, I don’t rely on people, when I do I get let down.” Faith said defensively.

“Maybe it’s time to start trusting people, you might be surprised.” Jodie said, she placed her hand on the dark haired slayers arm. “If you give a little, you might end up getting something more back.”

Faith knew she wasn’t going to win this one. “Fine I’ll give it go, but I don’t expect B to trust me though.”

“Give her time, she will.” Jodie said smiling.

1630 Revello Drive. Later in the evening.

“Hey Buffy what’s up?” Willow asked her best friend.

“Nothing, just kind of hoping to find the vampire tonight, I owe him a good ass kicking.” She said.

“Are you going to kick Faith’s ass too?” Willow grinned.

Buffy just frowned at her. “Not unless she gives me good reason too.”

Willow looked a little disappointed, she knew she had to really try and get over her dislike for the dark haired slayer. It wasn’t going to be easy though, but she would try. “Well if she tries anything nasty, I could always turn her into a rat?”

“Don’t tempt me.” Buffy laughed. “But seriously if she is here to help Will, then I’ll cut her some slack, and you had better do the same.”

Willow pouted, then sighed. “Sure, if she is serious about helping I’ll be good.”

Buffy raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh!”

Willow did her best innocent face. “I will, honest Buffy. Hey where did Giles go?”

“He said he had go pick up someone from the airport, he’ll be back later I think.” Buffy explained.

“Another potential?” Willow asked.

“No idea, well I’d better get my ass moving.” Buffy said. “You and Tara had better prepare for the spell.”

“Tara has all the ingredients for the spell, so where pretty much all set. Buffy when we find out, I’ll call you so take your cellphone ok, the bringers might be going after her.”

“Sure Will.” Buffy nodded. “If we encounter trouble, two slayers are better than one.”

Willow wasn’t sure, but Buffy was usually right so she let it go. “I guess so.”

Buffy got up from her stool and walked to the hallway, she grabbed her coat from the rack and put it on. She glanced at her watch to check the time, Faith would be here any moment.

“Good luck Will, you can do it.” Buffy said, giving her friend a brief hug. She turned to the girls sitting in the lounge. “Dawnie, Min I’ll see you later, and if you guys order in food. No pizza for Dawn.”

“Buffy.” Dawn pouted.

She turned back to Willow. “Let’s hope the other three arrivals aren’t too hungry. Otherwise I am going to taking out a bank loan to feed them all.” She rolled her eyes.

Buffy opened the front door to see Faith walking up the driveway, Faith was wearing her usual leather pants, but had a black top with a deep v cut which really showed off her cleavage. Over the top she wore a denim jacket.

“Hey B, you ready to rock and roll?” Faith said, smiling. She noticed Willow standing there with her arms folded glaring at her. “Hey Red.”

“Faith.” Willow forced herself to greet the dark haired slayer.

“I’m all set, let’s go.” Buffy said. She still found herself staring a little at Faith’s impressive cleavage. Shaking herself checked she had a stake on her and then she stepped out into the cool night air.

Closing the door behind her she faced Faith. “Not going with the leather on leather look tonight huh?” She asked her.

“No, Jodie said I should lighten up a little.” Faith replied.

“Jodie, is this one of your witchy friends or a girlfriend.” Buffy asked her, she couldn’t help but wonder, as she knew herself about Faith’s bisexuality.

“A witch, she’s got a girlfriend anyway.” Faith answered her. “Not jealous are we?” She added laughing.

Buffy’s eyes went wide. “No, just asking that’s all.” She quickly added. “Well we’d better get going, I don’t like the idea of the teenage brat vamp on the loose.”

“Fair enough B, lets go dust him.” Faith added cheerfully.

Back inside the Summer’s house.

Willow, Tara Dawn and Min sat at the table preparing for the spell. Willow looked at everything she needed to perform the spell. “Ok, I got my tumbleweed, my eggs...got my chrysalises—chrysali? My butterfly transformer pods. Hey, who has my snakeskin?”

“I have it.” Tara said, handing her the skin.

“Hey, do you think this girl, this potential, goes to Sunnydale?” Dawn asked her.

“Hmm. Well, I guess probably, huh? I mean, she's got to be about that age.” Willow told her. “Guess we’ll know soon enough.”

“Could be anybody. Could be that glamazon in gym class, what's her name? Oh Min, or maybe my lab partner, Margot. Boy, I hope not, because she totally fainted right in the middle of our fetal pig dissection. Somehow I just don't think she's cut out for the slayage biz.” Dawn said, she shook her head. “World is in trouble if she is the potential.”

“Well, we'll know soon enough who the next potential is. Somebody's life is about to change.”

“How long will it take? Will we find out who it is right away?” Dawn asked her. She turned to Min. “This spell should be pretty cool.”

Min just smiled, she didn’t really understand magic, or really care about it. It was mostly nonsense to her, still if Dawn liked it, she would try to show an interest.

“Pretty much. The spell will conjure up this brilliant light, a-and the light will find the potential and it'll illuminate her with a glowing aura.” Willow nodded. She pointed to a map on the coffee table. “I've enchanted this map so we can track her basic location. We'll have to hot-foot it, but I'm betting we find her tonight.”

“You know, if it is Margot, she's so gonna faint.” Dawn laughed.

“You don’t like her much do you?” Min asked her.

“She’s ok, just scared of her own shadow.” Dawn smiled.

“Ok Tara, lets do it.” Willow said, she sat down in front of the fireplace and prepared herself.

Tara picked up some of the items and placed them in front of her girlfriend. Tara closed her eyes and prepared the powder for the locator spell, she divided the potion into two cups. One for her and the other for Willow.

Taking the first items she began the incantation. “To light the aura of the new, skin of snake and chrysalis too.” She threw them into the fire. “To indicate the fresh reborn, tumbleweed and rosebush thorn.
An egg that means the life to come.” She threw the remaining items into the fire. “Take this, oh spirit, and my spell is done.”

Willow finished the incantation and she stood up, there was a small orange glow hovering in the fireplace now. She took her half of the locator and prepared to cast the locator spell once the orange cloud had located the potential.

“What is that smell?” Min said pulling a face.

“Bad eggs?” Tara grimaced.

Willow covered her mouth with her hand, the smell was foul. “The smell will lead us to the potential.” She said her voice slightly muffled. “She'll also be lit with a brilliant aura.”

The orange ball now moved into the center of the room, and began to change, light darting out from the sides. The size of the ball increased and a strange light pattern began to play all over it.

“Is it supposed to be shimmying all over like that?” Dawn asked Willow.

“I don't know. I don't think so.” Willow said sadly.

“Looks really cool, but my god does it have to stink like that.” Min asked.

“I think it went wrong Willow.” Tara said, she put her hand on her girlfriends arm. “Don’t worry, we can try it again.”

Willow let out a big sigh and shook her head. “I suck. I'm sorry, you guys, and maybe we could figure something out on the computer?”

Dawn still pinching her nose because of the foul smell in the room. “Good call. I'm gonna open the door and let this place air out.”

“I just, I was sure that it was gonna work.” Willow said still very disappointed at the spell failing.

“Honey you’ll get it right, don’t worry.” Tara said, wrapping her arms around Willow’s waist giving her a little reassuring hug. She gently kissed Willow’s cheek and whispered in her ear. “I believe in you Willow.”

Willow looked up into her lovers blue eyes. “I love you.” She mouthed back at her.

Suddenly, with warning the orange cloud started to steady, it became an arrow like shape almost pointing to the door. Dawn opened the door to allow the fresh air into the house, she saw the orange cloud pointing her way. It began to move towards her.

“Dawn look out!” Min shouted at her.

The orange cloud hit Dawn with such a force that she was thrown up into the air and then she fell to ground in a heap. The light enveloped her completely. Dawn was completely glowing now, the cloud covered every part of her body. She could feel the energy in the cloud filling her body, she was tingling all over.

While everyone looked on completely surprised, Min rushed to her side.

“I think it worked.” Willow said surprised.

“Dawn are you hurt?” Min said, she gently picked Dawn up. Dawn shook her head. Min looked outside for any sign of danger but saw nothing, the driveway was empty. She closed the door and slowly helped her girlfriend to her feet

Willow and Tara came to her side; the cloud had almost gone now, but still left a slight glow around her chest. “Dawn, are you ok?”

“Maybe y-you did it wrong? Was it a-ambiguous in any way? Did you maybe say potential sailors? 'Cause I I, do like the water.” Dawn said jokingly.

“I did it right.” Willow protested.

“Wow, you're a potential slayer like me.” Min said smiling.

“I’m a potential slayer.” Dawn said, the realisation slowly dawning on her. “Oh my god.”

Great update.

When Giles said that Min wasn't the missing potential, I wondered if it might be Dawn. I liked her comment about being a potential sailor :lol

Things haven't gotten off to a brilliant start between Faith & Buffy. Though they're not fighting, so it's all good.

I wonder when Faith's going to introduce the other witches to the group.

Looking forward to more
