Part 15:
Buffy and Faith were still out patrolling, neither saying anything to each other. They had yet to see a vampire and were about to head back so Buffy could get ready and go to the Bronze with her fellow scoobies. She was about to tell Faith she was leaving when three vampires came into view.
"About time!" Faith shouted wanting to get their attention.
Buffy rolled her eyes at the younger slayer.
The three vamps turned around and started towards the slayer's. Faith was the first to advance, she immediatly started pounding on the tallest one. Suddenly she was sent flying to the ground by another one who had snuck up on her. She got up, kicking one then turning to punch the other one in the face. She noticed one turn into dust and saw Buffy standing there looking annoyed. She turned and blocked the punch from the remaining vampire, not wanting the other slayer to get that one as well, she staked him.
"Hey, where'd the other one go?" The brunette asked, eagerly looking for more.
"I dusted him while you were busy 'playing'," Buffy said in an irritated tone.
"Thanks, B."
"What's your problem?" The blonde slayer asked. "You don't push your luck like that, unless you want to die?"
"I like to have fun with them first, it was only three vamps, I could've dusted them with my eyes closed." The dark haired slayer said in confidence.
"All it takes is one small mistake and you're dead." Buffy said walking off very annoyed with the girl.
Faith ran to catch up to the blonde. "So..whatcha doin now?" She asked, though the two did not get along, Faith took a liking to the petite blonde. She loved the tough girl act...just as she loved trying to break through it.
"I'm going to hang out with my friends, see you later." Buffy said, hoping the girl wouldn't try to come along.
Faith took the hint. "Ok...see ya later." She said going the other way, no way was she giving up, she just figured it was best to move slowly.
Everyone was now at the Bronze, Tara hadn't been able to keep her eyes off the redhead since they left the house. Willow had on a sexy skin tight black dress that had openings on the sides. She looked very hot and Tara just wanted to tear it off of her. Tara started feeling fat, she hadn't really put on any weight but seeing how hot Willow was really put a damper on her self-esteem. She adjusted herself on the chair she was sitting in while she tried to straighten her denim skirt.
"Having a good time?" Willow asked the blonde while handing her a bottle of water and sitting on the arm of Tara's chair.
"As long as you're here, I'm always having a good time," Tara said, she placed her hand on Willow's knee and gave it a squeeze. "I wonder what's keeping Buffy."
"I don't know, maybe she ran into some vamps finally. Or maybe she and the other slayer are killing each other," She thought out loud.
"The other slayer?" The blonde asked with a confused look.
"Oh yeah...I forgot to tell you didn't I?" She asked, then continued once receiving a nod. "A girl showed up at the magic box claiming to be a slayer. We're not sure if she really is one or not, she went with Buffy patrolling. So, when Buffy gets here, we'll know if it's true or not," She finished.
"There's Buffy now," The blonde told her girlfriend pointing to the entrance. "She doesn't look very happy."
Buffy plopped down on the couch, looking very peeved. Sure it was great there was another slayer, she could use the help, but why this girl Faith? She was clueless. Buffy was sure the girl would end up dead if she didn't start taking the slaying seriously.
"Well? Is she the real thing?" Willow asked as she took in Buffy's demeanor.
"Yeah....she is," The slayer sighed.
"What is it?" The redhead asked her friend. She was trying to figure out why this was bad, because obviously it was, given her friends facial expression.
"She acts like slaying is a hobby rather than a calling or a job, she beats on the vamps forever before actually slaying them. I just don't know about this girl, I'm not so sure she's gonna last very long."
"Well, you can teach her," The redhead told her friend as if it were no big deal.
"Hope you guys are hungry, I brought snacks," Xander said sitting down next to Buffy. He handed them out.
"No thanks," Tara said as he turned to her, she was feeling a bit queazy and didn't want to chance eating right now.
"I'll be right back," Willow said as she got up and walked away. She was feeling really nervous, she approached the stage and whispered something into the the guys ear. Then she went back to the group.
"Everything okay?" Tara asked as the redhead returned, taking in her flushed appearance.
"Oh..I'm good...great even," Willow said smiling a little to big. A slow song came on. "Dance with me?" The redhead asked Tara, holding out a shaky hand.
Tara looked at the hand in confusion but decided to let it go for now. She took the hand and happily walked with her love to the dance floor.
Willow glanced back briefly at the scoobies. They knowingly got up and moved to the dance floor, Xander danced with Anya and Buffy with some random guy she stopped and asked. Now all the scoobies were on the dance floor, doing their best to stay close to each other without Tara noticing. It helped that Willow kept her girlfriend's back to the group.
"Do you know how much I love you?" The redhead asked Tara as she held her close.
"I believe I do, but you can still tell me," Tara teased, she never got tired of hearing Willow tell her.
"I can huh? Okay..I love you more than anything in this world. I've never felt so connected to anyone in my life," She said, keeping eye contact with Tara. Xander had been leaning in so far, trying to hear what the girls were saying that he accidentally fell, bringing Anya down with him. She began cursing at him and swatting him. Tara tried to turn to see what all the commotion was, but Willow quickly grabbed her and turned her head so she was back facing her. "You know what I mean? You make me feel so free, like I can do anything... be anyone," Willow finished bringing Tara back to the moment.
The blonde smiled, the disruption behind her long since forgotten. She felt tears stinging the back of her eyes. "You can do anything Will, and as far as being anyone...well...i don't want "anyone", just you."
"I can do that, I want to be with you forever Tara."
"I want that too," The blonde smiled.
Willow took one hand from the blonde's waist, she reached in her pocket, "Oh no, wait just a second," she said reaching into the other one and breathing a big sigh of relief she pulled out a box. She opened it and held it up for the blonde to see. "Tara Maclay, will you marry me?"
Tara was shocked, she froze. She was about to give her answer when she grabbed her stomach with one hand, and the other hand covered her mouth. Without a word she ran off towards the bathroom.
Willow's smile faded, she looked at her friend's like a lost puppy. "That's not good." She wanted to check on Tara but she thought if she were the reason for her love running off then maybe it wasn't such a good idea.
"Um...you want to go sit down?" Buffy asked, she felt bad for her friend, but she knew there had to be a good reason for this, it wasn't like Tara to just run off. She looked at her friend, wanting to help, but she didn't know how. The redhead looked like she lost her best friend, she was about to tell the group she was going to check on Tara when she saw the blonde running to them.
"Will," Tara said running up to her, a little out of breath.
The redhead looked up, scared of what the blonde was going to say.
"Yes,"
"What?" Willow asked not sure what her love meant.
"Yes, I will marry you, yes, yes, yes," Tara laughed.
The redhead smiled as she jumped up and hugged Tara, she spun her around then set her down so she could give her the ring. She placed the ring on Tara's finger, both girls were smiling and crying at the same time. "Thank you so much Tara," The redhead said, she was so thankful that the blonde had said yes.
The scoobies watched their friends, all of them in awe. Buffy couldn't help but let a tear fall, she had never seen Willow so happy.
"Are you okay? You know with the whole...stomach thing?" Willow asked.
"Yeah, part of being pregnant, I was really hoping to skip that part but no such luck," Tara replied, she was amazed how much better she felt, the nausea had went just as fast as it came.
The redhead bent over, her face was right at Tara's belly. "Are you giving mama a hard time?" She cooed.
"Will, I really don't think she can hear you yet," Tara said blushing, they were in the middle of the Bronze and the redhead was talking to her stomach.
Willow stood up giving the blonde an apologetic look.
"You guys want to come to my house and celebrate?" Buffy asked.
Everyone was now gathered at the slayers house, dancing, eating, and chit chatting. Buffy had called Dawn who squeeled over the phone and came right over giving both Willow and Tara a giant hug.
Tara was in the kitchen getting some water. Anya came in holding up a piece of cake.
"Cake for you," Anya said holding it out.
"No thanks," Tara declined. "The thought of food is making me queazy again."
"Are you sure?" Anya asked thrusting the cake under Tara's nose.
"Yes," Tara said holding her mouth and moving quickly away.
"So do you know when you're getting married?" Dawn asked, still very giddy.
"Will just proposed Dawn, I don't think they've discussed it yet," The slayer said rolling her eyes at her little sister. She then turned to Willow, "Have you?"
"No, but I do want it done super fast," Willow bounced on the balls of her feet.
"Me too," The blonde smiled coming up behind Willow, she put her arms around the redhead, making her smile. Tara's face suddenly scrunched up. "Ow,"
The redhead immediatly turned around, "Tara, what is it?" She asked looking the blonde up and down to find the source of the pain.
"My stomach..." Tara said as she doubled over.
"Oh goddess, we have to get you to a doctor," She said looking around at her friends. "Why aren't you doing something?" She snapped as her panic took over.
A green cloud filled the living room, a shadow started to appear in it. All of a sudden the green cloud disappeared leaving a demon standing in the wake.
"Hey, it's that ugly green demon again!" Willow said as if no one else could see it.
"You will die," The demon said in an eerie deep voice, pointing to Tara.
