The ride over to Tara’s dorm was a quiet one. The only noise was Buffy frantically switching radio stations, uncomfortable with how quiet Tara was.
“Come on,” Buffy said as they parked the car in front of the dorm.
Tara looked over at the dorm and then off in the direction of the quad. “M-maybe I shouldn’t have c-come,” Tara said as memories of last night flashed in her head.
Buffy looked over to see Tara looking in the direction of the quad. “I’m so sorry, Tara. I’ll take you home.”
“C-C-Can… C-Can…” Tara was so frightened to ask knowing that it would be a huge inconvenience, but she couldn’t imagine staying so close to where… “B-Buffy, I-I don’t want to be here ever,” Tara said trying to express all of her thoughts in one sentence.
“Tara?” Buffy said worried with how confused and mixed with hurt Tara’s eyes were.
“I-I don’t want to c-come back here,” Tara said as she got out of the car and headed to the door.
Buffy was in complete confusion. ‘Ok she doesn’t want to come back here, so why is she getting out of the car?’ She jumped out of the car and followed Tara to the dorm trying to figure out what to do. She had to convince her it was safe. ‘Tara has to continue going to college or else she will just end up in a crappy ‘Double Meat Palace’ job like me.’
“Tara, hold up!” The slayer yelled entering the dorm. “What do you want? Whatever it is we’ll see what we can do,” Buffy tried to reason with Tara.
“I-I don’t want to s-stay here anymore,” Tara said quietly, unable to look at Buffy. “I-I’ll sleep on the couch… I-I c-can pay you,” Tara continued. “I-I just feel s-safe.”
“Tara,” Buffy said taking the trembling girl in her arms. “It’s ok. What have Willow and I been trying to convince you all along? Honey, we’ll just move you out and you’ll be home that’s all. I’m going to call Willow, ok?” Buffy asked as she felt Tara start crying and knew pretty soon she would bring no comfort to her. She felt Tara nod yes as she kept her arms around her and headed to Tara’s room.

Willow had started cleaning up the house nervously. She was planning on making a trip to the library to read up on what she could do to help Tara.
Willow started to do the dishes that Dawn left before leaving for school and gathering the laundry. She went to her bedroom and picked up Tara’s neatly folded PJs to wash them with the load and then the skirt that was laying on the floor. THE SKIRT. The skirt that Tara was wearing that night, the skirt that was ripped from her body so that he could have his way with her. “I’ll get him. I swear. I will rip open his chest just to pour holy water on his heart,” Willow said as she crumpled up the skirt and threw it in the trashcan. The only thing that broke her out of her fantasizing about how she was going to kill the other two vampires was the phone.
“Hello?”
“Will, it’s Buffy,” Buffy said knowing that Willow would recognize her voice.
“Hey, what's up? What’s wrong?” Willow said realizing that she wouldn’t be getting a call from her unless something was wrong with Tara.
“Well… Tara is really upset… I wasn’t thinking how she would react… well, being here. I was stupid. She doesn’t want to be here anymore. She wants to come home,” Buffy started to explain.
“Then why the hell are you calling me. Bring her home!” Willow said starting to get angry that Buffy was being so insensitive.
“No, not now. I mean yes she probably wants to get back to the house as soon as possible, but I mean like for good,” Buffy said.
Willow was unable to contain her excitement. Tara at home forever so she could see her every day, every hour. “Oh.”
“Yeah, well, she is really upset and she is going a little nuts kind of. So I was wondering if you could come,” Buffy said hesitantly.
“Nuts? What do you mean?” Willow didn’t quite understand.
“Well, she is throwing away half of her clothes and talking to herself,” Buffy explained.
“OK, I’ll be over!” Willow said hanging up the phone and making a dash downstairs and grabbing her shoes by the couch when she saw Tara’s pills. Willow grabbed both of Tara’s prescriptions as she started to run out the door to the campus with only thoughts of Tara in her head. ‘We forgot to give her her pain pill. She must be hurting. The doctor said we would have to give it to her regularly for a couple of days. Look, I’m already neglecting her. Oh god I don’t want to give her a sedative… she hates them.’ Willow was nearly to the campus without becoming tired yet, the desire to see Tara kept her going. ‘I just need to get there and calm her down. She has to relax this can’t be good for her.’
Willow finally made it on campus and ran up to the fourth floor of Tara’s dorm to find her door open with a woman standing there trying to calm Tara down while she paced to and from the closet putting some clothes on the bed and others in the trashcan.
“Tare… come on honey, please… let me look through your closet… please sit down!” the woman begged almost in tears.
“L-Leave me alone, J-Jessica,” Tara said angrily as she threw a tank top in the trash can along with a skirt.
“Tara,” Willow said from the door to the room.
Tara looked up frozen at the doorway of the closet. “I-I… I-I… just c-can’t w-wear these,” Tara said with her eyes on the verge of tears. “Th-They're dirty,” Tara explained in her own way.
“Then we’ll wash them Tara,” Jessica tried her best to calm Tara, not understanding the circumstances.
“Where is Buffy?” Willow asked, not caring who answered the question.
“In my room,” Jessica answered trying to be helpful.
“Can you just give Tara and I a minute, ummm… Buffy will explain,” Willow said as she gently pushed the woman out the door and closed it.
At the exit of her friend, Tara used the door frame to sink to the floor in sobs. Willow rushed to her side taking Tara in her arms.
“Oh Willow,” Tara let out as she held even tighter to the redhead’s waist. Willow gently brought Tara’s head down to her lap while the girl clung to her legs and Willow stroked her hair.
“Shhh.” Willow knew she was very little comfort at this point. She had to just get Tara to calm down and relax. As soon as Tara could trust her she would dispel all of those horrible thoughts that Tara had going through her head at this time. All she could do now was hold her girl, and help her sleep.
A soft knock came at the door and Willow turned to look in that direction as the door opened slowly.
“Everything ok?” Buffy said as she came in.
“Yeah,” Willow said looking to Tara again. “Maybe we should call Xander and ask him to come after work to get some of Tara’s stuff. We should just get Tara’s clothes and paints right now,” Willow said as she felt Tara move in her lap and directed her attention back to her girl.
Tara slowly sat up and cringed when she felt her stomach muscles tighten on her.
“Baby?” Willow said when she noticed the pain. “Sweetie… here, take these,” Willow said as she took both of Tara’s medication out and handed them to her.
“I don’t w-want to,” Tara said knowing that one of the pills would knock her out.
“Baby, you barely got any sleep last night. Please take it,” Willow said with sad begging eyes. “You want me to come with you to the drinking fountain?” Willow asked trying to be helpful.
“No… I sh-should apologize to Jessica,” Tara said leaving the room.
“Should I pack all of the clothes or just the non-trash clothes?” The slayer asked. Last time she tried to pack the ‘trash’ clothes Tara snapped at her.
“Everything,” Willow said grabbing Tara’s skirt out of the trashcan and folding it.
“Do you think we should take Tara to the hospital?” Buffy asked noticing that Tara seemed to be in pain.
“What? No. She’s fine,” Willow said absent-mindedly not noticing how concerned the slayer really was.
“Well then why all the pain in the stomach? I mean, I can understand pain with the ribs, stitches and all… but stomach?” Buffy asked.
Willow looked up at Buffy as the answer ran in her head. She wanted to snap at her friend for suggesting anything was wrong with Tara. She felt her eyes turn to black, dark as coal. ‘No, what was wrong was those asshole vampires that raped her beautiful girl.’ “Buffy just leave it,” Willow said hoping that would shut up her friend.
“But Willow…” Buffy began to urge her to tell her. When Willow whipped around and glared at her with angry black eyes the slayer quickly backed away.
“Because Tara is a fucking virgin and those assholes ripped her open and she’s never felt anything like that before… she’s never been with anyone but me!” Willow yelled, pissed off as she stormed out of the room.
Buffy sank to the bed. “Oh God.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Willow stormed out she ran to the bathroom gripping the sides of the sink trying to control the anger that was rising up in her. She looked up into the mirror to see the horrid black eyes that came with all the anger. Willow began to take deep breaths and think of how much Tara needed her now, not dark magic Willow. And soon the darkness subsided.
Willow made her way down the hall trying to find where Tara’s voice was coming from, wanting to be near her.
“J-Jessica I-I’m really s-s…” Tara began.
“No, oh god Tara no, I’m so sorry I’m being…” Jessica began to apologize for everything that had happened to Tara over the last 24 hours.
“Sweetie,” Willow said as she entered the room before the other girl could say anything that may cause Tara to get angry again. “Ready to pack up and head home? You’re going to be tired in about an hour,” Willow said rubbing the back of Tara’s neck.
“Yeah,” Tara said turning to have Willow’s arm around her waist as she left.
“Tara, see you later. Sorry about everything that happened,” Jessica yelled from her room, which caused the blonde witch to drop her head to Willow’s shoulder, exhausted from holding in everything.
“Sweetie, we’ll be out of here soon and on our way home,” Willow said starting to massage the tension out of Tara’s neck again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once Willow left the room Buffy just began to pack again. Trying to keep her mind from any thought or worry. ‘Black Eyed Will is back. GREAT!’
When she heard the door open she naturally assumed it was Willow.
“Will… we’ve… Tara! You ok?” Buffy asked as she saw Tara’s tired eyes.
“Just too much emotional stuff,” Willow said as she moved some of the clothes and helped Tara to the bed.
Tara laid down in the bed as Willow brought the covers over her and knelt by the side of the bed.
“Baby, Buff and I are going to pack up your clothes and paint stuff. Xander will come and get the rest. How about you just close your eyes and rest,” Willow said as she stroked the blonde’s hair, trying to calm Tara as she stared at the wall. “Come on baby, close them,” Willow said in reference to her blood-shot eyes. Willow continued to stroke her hair as she moved closer to the bed and laid her cheek on Tara’s, softly humming to her. Tara always loved hearing Willow’s voice. She sometimes would just lay on the redhead’s chest to hear the vibrations that came from her talking, listening to nothing but the untranslatable vibrations.
As soon as Willow felt Tara give in to sleep she stood up and began to fold clothes again.
“Will?” Buffy said wanting to ask a dozen questions about what happened earlier.
“Not now. We’ll talk when we go out on patrol tonight,” Willow said entering the closet and taking out more clothes. And the packing resumed in silence.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Tara… Tara… time to wake up,” Willow said while rubbing the girl’s back.
Tara sat up, unable to focus her eyes at all, barely able to shrug off the sleep. “I-I hate the p-pills,” Tara said grumpily as Willow helped her stand with most of Tara’s weight on her.
Willow couldn’t help but giggle as that was the first thing Tara could think to say. “I know sweetie,” Willow said as she motioned for Buffy to come over to help with Tara.
They clumsily made it to the car with Tara almost falling twice, only rescued by slayer strength. The car ride home put Tara back to sleep, making it even harder for them to wake her up to get her in the house. They finally gave up as Buffy picked her up and brought her up to the bedroom.
Willow entered the front door with a box to find Dawn standing there waiting for an explanation.
“Is Tara ok?” the girl asked nervously.
“Oh yeah,” Willow said with a small laugh. “The pills just hit her hard,” Willow explained. “How about you help us with the boxes, huh?” Willow said giving the girl a small hint.
“What’s with all the boxes?” Dawn asked.
“Tara is moving back in,” Willow said grabbing another one from the trunk.
“You got back together? How great!” Dawn said jumping up and down and grabbing Willow in a hug.
“No we are not. Tara just needs to be somewhere where she feels safe,” Willow said heading back into the house, not wanting to explain any more to Dawn. She knew that Tara didn’t want Dawn to know what happened. Buffy had told her about what happened with Tara at the hospital when Dawn came in, how she pretty much tried to hide everything.
“I know. I want to kill the bastard that did that to Tara,” Dawn said as she followed.
“DAWN!” Buffy said coming down from upstairs. “Watch your language. How about you just move the boxes in silence!” Buffy said not knowing what would set Willow off. It seemed like Tara and Willow both had the same short fuse when it came to getting mad.
“I’m going to call Anya and Xander and get all that settled,” Buffy said heading to the kitchen as Willow continued bringing everything in.
Willow grabbed another box as she thought, ‘Dawn wont have to worry about killing those bastards for long. It’s almost sunset and I will not let them live a day longer.
