I wrote a parody of "Light one candle". I'll post the original lyrics first, and then my parody.

LIGHT ONE CANDLE

Music and text: Peter Yarrow

Light one candle for the Maccabee children. Give thanks that their light didn’t die.

Light one candle for the pain they endured when their right to exist was denied.

Light one candle fot the terrible sacrifice justice and freedom demand.

Light one candle for the wisom to know when the peace-maker’s time is at hand.

Don’t let the light go out: it’s lasted for so many years.

Don’t let the light go out: let it shine through our love and our tears.

Light one candle for the strength that we need to never become our own foe.

Light one candle for those who are suffering the pain we learned so long ago.

Light one candle for all we believe in, let anger not tear us apart.

Light one candle to bind us together, with peace as the song in our heart.

What is the memory that’s valued so highly that we keep it alive in that flame?

What’s the commitment to those who have dies when we cry out they’ve not died in vain?

We have come this far always believing that justice will somehow prevail.

This is the burden and this is the promise and this is why we will not fail.

Don’t let the light go out. (3x)

Parody

Light one candle for the Bronze Tara bashing, we wish that our girls didn't see.

Light one candle for the move off WB, who believed Kitten love shouldn't be.

Light one candle for Joss and for Marti, Gods who treated our witches with care.

Light one candle for forgiveness and "Family", Tara learned Scoobies all share.

Don't let the light go out. It's lasted for so many years.

Don't let the light go out. Let it shine through our love and our tears.

Light one candle for "Hush", their first meeting, the chemistry only begun.

Light one candle for "I am, you know, yours", the simple words showed us we'd won.

Light one candle for the tears that we shed, at all Willow's forget spell cost.

Light one candle for the light of Aradia that leads us whenever we're lost.

What is the memory that's valued so highly that we keep alive in that ray?

What's the commitment to those who protested Willow liking girls was ok?

We have come this far always believing that M.E. will somehow prevail.

This is the burden and this is the promise and this is why we will not fail.

Don't let the light go out. (3x)

Awesome. Just awesome. All we need now is for Amber and ASH to do a duet...

I really liked this, too. It touched my heart.

Thank you.
