Part I
"I will find you again, I will always find you."
Willow’s eyes were fixed on the doll’s eye crystal that Tara once had innocently offered to her. She first had
refused the offer because she wouldn’t feel comfortable but later it had become a part of both of them, like a
symbol of their relationship. "Baby, I will try everything..."
"Hey Wills..." Buffy entered the room, trying to sound cheerily. She herself had been going through alot and still
wasn’t over it at all, it would take time, alot of time. She had lost a good friend in Tara and missed her much, and
she had almost lost her best friend at the same time. It had hurt her very much to see what became of Willow
after Tara’s death, but she also knew that she herself would probably have done the same. They’d just found
each other again the night before and then were divided again so brutally and quickly, it really wasn’t fair. It had
hurt her very much to see what became of Willow after Tara’s death They deserved so much more.
"Hey Wills," Buffy repeated after receiving no answer, "you daydreaming again?"
"Oh hey, sorry, I was thinking of..."
"You don’t have to tell me, I know. Wanna go out with me some time? I mean, Xander and me, just the three of
us. Would be fun. And will help you get back to normal..."
"Sounds nice, but I don’t feel like going anywhere, the pain is still so fresh and new, you know..."
"Shh, I understand."
Buffy took her in her arms and comforted her; for the last couple of days Willow had been completely
unemotional, now it was time for her to let go. She sobbed heavily in Buffy’s arms who made soothing noises
and gently rocked her and didn’t let go. "We all hurt Will. If there was any way to get her back I’d take it. But not
even darkest magic..."
Willow suddenly tensed. "I‘m sure there is a way, there has to be. If I have to go to the end of the world and back,
I’ll do it. I can’t live without her Buffy."
She stood up and stormed out of the room, leaving a kinda confused slayer behind. Willow headed as fast as
she could to the library, catched a couple of books and began to read on and on. From now on she’d spend
every free time in the library and did only return when she had classes or lunch. She hardly talked to anyone and
that certainly couldn’t be good; Buffy worried about her friend but she didn’t want to be overprotective, so she
decided to leave her alone for awhile. When Willow wanted or needed something she’d certainly come out
herself. But a part of her still was worried, and after a week when Willow came home rather exhausted, she
decided to take a visit to the library tomorrow, just to check that everything was okay. "And it’s not like I’m trying
to control her," she tried to convince herself. "I’m just making sure she doesn’t get hurt."
Next morning after class, Buffy was on her way to the library when Xander catched up with her and cheerily
greeted her. "Hey Xan."
"What’re ya doing Buff?"
"Going to the library...you know I wonder what Willow’s up to. Just making sure everything’s okay."
"You’re right. She wasn’t around much these days. I kind of miss her..."
"She’s changed since Tara’s death. We all have. I can see the hurt in her eyes...I think she wants to find a way to
get her back. She still is upset about everything that happened, I can’t blame her though...she’s been through
alot. I’m scared, Xan..."
He smiled at her, putting an arm around her shoulders. "Believe me, everything’s going to be allright again. I
promise. Tara didn’t die in vain, nobody lives and dies in vain."
"You know Xan, sometimes I’m not quite sure about that..."
Suddenly they heard something like an explosion coming directly from the library. They looked stunned at each
other and ran. "Willow, Willow, are you..." And again they stopped, overwhelmed by the sight. Willow was lying in
Tara’s arms, sobbing desperately, not able to ever let got again. "Shh, baby, it’s allright, I’ve got you, I’m here,
baby," the blonde witch whispered. She herself had tears of overwhelming joy in her eyes. "Please..." Willow
couldn’t help herself, she kissed the blonde again and again, nibbling at her lower lip. "Don’t you ever...leave me
again...I can’t live without you, I can’t..." Tara pressed her forehead against Willow’s and held onto her with all
her might. "Not leaving you again...never..."
"Tara! You’re back! You’re home!" Buffy still couldn’t believe what happened and hugged her friend tightly.
Xander followed her example. "But...but how?"
Tara smiled tenderly at Willow. "Magic and most of all...love..."
Buffy now had to sit down, her knees suddenly weak, and sighed heavily. "Okay, now would you please tell us
everything from the beginning?"
Willow sat down on the couch, Tara moved next to her and lay her head in Will’s lap. Willow caressed her gently
and the other witch almost purred under that touch and closed her eyes, enjoying what she had missed the most.
