Buffy opened her front door to hear Giles softly snoring. She checked her watch. 7 A.M. She wasn’t sure whether to wake him or not. She decided that everyone else was going to be up any minute, so he might as well be too.
Buffy walked over to the couch and gently shook his shoulder. “Giles. Time to wake up.”
“But I don’t have to go to work today Olivia.” he complained as he twisted away from her.
Buffy scrunched up her lip and narrowed her eyes. “No, you don’t and I’m not Olivia.” she said, putting her hands on her hips waiting for his next response.
Giles rolled back over and stared at his slayer with half open eyes. He turned to look out the window at the sun beginning its journey across the sky. “Are there any pressing matters to attend to?”
Buffy shrugged. “Besides breakfast, not that I know of.” she answered.
Giles closed his eyes and yawned. “Good, then we can chat at a more reasonable hour.” he said pulling the blanket up higher.
Buffy couldn‘t believe what she was hearing. Here was her faithful watcher who had, more times than she cared to remember, gotten her up before dawn to train. “Did you just tell me to go away?” she asked, slightly annoyed.
Giles sat up on his elbows. “I said no such thing. Stop putting words in my mouth.” he declared indignantly.
Now the slayer was amused. She missed the fun little arguments they used to get into. “You are the opposite of Anya, did you know that?” she said.
Buffy hated fighting with Anya. There was no way to win. Even if the ex-demon was wrong, she'd still never admit it.
Giles sat up completely and swung his feet off the couch. “I know I am going to regret this, but words are coming out of your mouth that seem to have no meaning what so ever. Care to elaborate on that statement for me?” he said leaning forward on his knees, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Buffy smirked. The slayer was in a playful mood and delighted that Giles was giving in to her. “I’m serious. She’s blunt and your obscure. She’s gives a straight explanation, you leave room for interpretation” She smiled, proud of her objective thought process so early in the morning. “It’s good. “ she explained. “It’s kind of like having more variety in my life.” she said the silly grin still firmly in place.
Giles was slightly confused. “Are you saying I’m a spice?” he asked to clarify what she was saying. His body went rigid as he realized what he had just said. “Bloody hell. Now you’ve got me doing it.” covering his eyes with his hand.
“Welcome to the club.” Buffy glanced over at clock chiming on the wall. “Well, breakfast will be in a few minutes. Tara’s not here, so you have to deal with my cooking. I hope you like pop tarts.” she said heading for the stairs.
Giles shook his head. “Tara was the only member of this household with any culinary expertise?” he questioned.
“I can do cereal too.” she assured him as she reached the stairs.
Giles stood up and stretched. “I do so hope that saying about breakfast being the most important meal of the day is purely speculation.” he muttered, but loud enough that Buffy’s hearing would pick up on the comment.
Half way up the stairs she stopped and leaned over the banister. “Well, consider me insulted.” she quipped.
Giles smiled as he put his glasses on. “As you wish.”
Buffy chuckled. “We’ll all be down soon.” she told him and went upstairs.
---------------------------------
Buffy opened and knocked on Dawn’s door at the same time. “Hey Dawnie. You awake?” she called.
Dawn rolled over. “Do I have to be?” she asked looking over at the alarm clock she had already turned off twice already.
Buffy looked around the room. It was actually pretty organized, except for a few stray shirts on the floor. “Unfortunately. Breakfast will be ready whenever you are.” she said in the ‘get ready for school, but don’t make me actually say it’ voice.
Dawn yawned and sat up on her bed. “Anyone here to cook?” She was hoping that maybe Tara came home with Willow from Rack’s.
The slayer knew what her sister was asking. Buffy regretted that she didn‘t have happier news to report on the witch front. “Me or Giles.” she said frowning.
Dawn rolled her eyes. “Pop tarts or tea. There’s a tough decision first thing in the morning.” she said laying back down on the bed.
Buffy grabbed a shirt off the floor and whipped it at her little sister. “Get up or I’ll shower first.” she threatened.
After living in the same house with four women, one thing was certain. First one in the shower got the hot water. Anyone after that, it was touch and go. Dawn narrowed her eyes. “You wouldn’t.” she hissed at her sister.
Buffy had an devilish grin plastered on her face. “Try me.” she said walking out the door.
Buffy heard her sister rushing towards the bathroom and closing the door. ‘I
love that threat. Works every time.’ Buffy did need to take a shower, but she would get Dawn taken care of first. Two down, one to go.
Buffy went to Willow’s door and knocked. When she got no response, she tried the knob. When it wasn’t locked, Buffy figured she would give Willow a cheery wake up call. She went over her options in her head. ’What should I do? Rip off the covers? Maybe some water? Oooo, I know.’ Buffy rushed towards the bed and jumped in the air.
Somewhere in that split second of airtime, Buffy realized that Willow wasn’t alone. ‘Oh shit.’ she thought as her knees landed on the side of the bed, near Willow‘s back.
From the door, it looked like Willow was sleeping propped up on pillows. Buffy hadn’t seen any sign of Tara. In actuality, Willow was curled up sideways on Tara’s chest and the blonde witch‘s head was hidden behind a pillow.
When Buffy landed on the bed, Tara’s first instinct was to sit up. Willow’s was to roll over. All three women spoke simultaneously.
----
“What the…ow ow ow ow. PAIN!” Willow said grabbing the back of her head.
“Will? Ugh! That hurt.” Tara said as she laid back down on the pillow, her forehead now throbbing.
“I’m so sorry!” Buffy said immediately removing herself from the bed.
----
“Buffy, what was that for?” Willow inquired, still rubbing the back of her head and neck.
Buffy was slowly inching away from the bed. “I’m sorry. I thought you were alone and you seemed pretty bummed when you left last night so I came to cheer you up.” Buffy bit her lip and tried to look anywhere but at the redhead “How was I supposed to know that she was going to beat me to it?” she exclaimed pointing at the blonde witch rubbing her forehead.
Tara closed her eyes desperately trying to stop the pounding in her head. “If this is any indication how the rest of the day will be, I am not getting out of bed.” Tara noted dryly.
Buffy let out some hesitant laughter. “Bright side.” she said holding up her index finger. “You weren’t having sex.” she said remembering what she and Tara had discussed about Buffy walking in on them not 6 hours ago. Talk about foreshadowing.
Willow was desperately trying to calm her nerves and her head. Despite knowing that Buffy was trying to be a helpful, caring friend, she was still annoyed with the slayer for interrupting snuggle time with Tara. ‘I’m going to kill her.’ she thought.
Tara sat up, and put her chin on Willow‘s shoulder. “Willow, you can’t kill the chosen one.” she said next to her ear. She then turned her head to give Willow a playful smile. “Let me maim her instead.” she suggested with a wily grin, her eyes twinkling with mirth.
Buffy realized what she said. The slayer had inadvertently put her foot in her mouth. She doubted that either of them were truly mad at her, but she figured a strategic retreat was definitely in order. “Ok, see you guys at breakfast, if you’re planning on getting out of bed. But don’t do that too soon cause you might have this unexplainable urge to hurt me and we wouldn’t want that. So why don’t the two of you just stay here and I’ll have Giles help me whip up some great food and then I’ll bring it up. Ok?” she said hurrying out the door and closing it behind her.
Tara repositioned herself so her could wrap her arms around Willow‘s midsection. “I think you broke the slayer. Are you proud of yourself?” she asked pulling the smaller redhead back against her.
Willow sighed in response to the physical contact. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back onto Tara’s shoulder.
The blonde witch was still waiting for Willow to respond. “You wanted to kill her as I recall.” she said reaching under her pajamas top and lightly tickling her stomach.
Willow squirmed and grabbed for the offending hand. Okay, it wasn‘t really offending her, she would have preferred it doing many different things, but tickling wasn‘t on that list right now. “No fair.” she said and she caught Tara’s hand and intertwined their fingers.
Willow turned her head to look at her girlfriend. “You did that thing.” The words she spoke were somewhere between a question and a statement.
Tara was momentarily preoccupied with other thoughts. She had been busying looking down Willow‘s top while she fought to stop the Tara tickle torture. Sassy boobs.
“What? Oh, that thing.” she shook her head trying to get Willow’s breasts off her mind. “Um, yeah, I guess I did.” she said affirmatively.
Willow half turned to look at Tara. “Can you do it all the time?” she asked curiously.
Willow's question seemed solely based on her inquisitive nature. There was no hint of uneasiness or apprehension from the redhead based on the act itself. This fact relieved Tara since she had no idea how it actually happened. The words were just suddenly there.
Tara ran her fingers lightly up Willow‘s left arm. “I don’t know. I don‘t think so though.” Tara’s hand completed its journey to the base of Willow’s neck, where she began gently massaging the sore area. “Does this mean we’re getting up to have breakfast? Or are we going to let Buffy bring pop tarts, cereal, and tea to the door?” she said with a smirk.
It was a universally accepted fact. Buffy was no Wolfgang Puck.
Willow was busy concentrating on Tara‘s fingers. Touching. Rubbing. She let out a small moan and Tara giggled. That was when Willow remembered she needed to answer the witch‘s question. “Food, sure. Food is good.” she said tilting her head back to rest on Tara’s shoulder.
Tara released Willow‘s neck and slid her arm around the redhead, putting her in a chokehold-like hug. “I know that silly. Are we eating with the others?” she asked again, her hand now gently stroking the soft skin of Willow’s shoulder.
Tarahand was wonderful, and despite the feelings that it was invoking in Willow, the hacker decided that they still needed to work some things out before she went that far. Had they worked things out? They were acting like it, but they still hadn’t discussed magic, soul bonding, mind reading, and a certain God of Love. She chose the less confusing breakfast.
“Well sure, why not?” she said, closing her eyes. Three hours of sleep really hadn’t been much, but being with Tara had made them the best three hours of her life.
Suddenly, Willow’s stomach made its presence known. “Yep. Definitely breakfast.” she said rubbing her tummy.
Willow tried to decide what was she hungry for. Well, other than Tara that is. Suddenly it hit her. One word came to mind. It was something that only Tara could make properly. Pancakes.
“Actually, if we have to have breakfast, um, could you?” she said pulling away slightly to give Tara her best puppy dog eyes.
Tara slowly ran her finger across Willow's collarbone, releasing the redhead from her hold. "Could I...do what your stomach wants? Or what your head wants?" she said with a sexy leer.
Willow just sat dumbfounded. 'Maybe we could just skip to the kissing and sex and worry about the other stuff later.' she thought. 'It always works on TV.' The redhead sighed as her stomach growled again. Willow frowned slightly and pointed at her stomach, indicating breakfast.
Tara giggled. She knew what Willow wanted, but was happy that she wanted to wait until they talked about everything. “Funny shapes or rounds?” she asked leaving a soft kiss on Willow’s neck. “Or anything else your heart desires.” she whispered in her ear, then nuzzled it lovingly.
Willow sucked in a breath, desperately trying to maintain her composure. “Surprise me.” she sighed.
Tara released Willow and crossed her arms in front of her. “Do I get a surprise in return?” she asked with a wicked grin.
Willow rolled over and looked playfully at Tara. “How about I give you your surprise first?” she asked as she lunged at Tara forcing her backwards on the bed. Straddling the blonde witch, Willow grabbed Tara's arms and pinned them at her sides. The hacker crouched down, like a lioness on the hunt, and slid her breasts slowly up Tara’s torso. After meeting Tara’s hungry gaze, Willow leaned down and slowly started sucking at her pulse point.
Tara tipped her head back to give her lover more room. Willow was awakening every fiber of her being simply by touching her. She closed her eyes and heard Willow’s thoughts. ’You’re so perfect. Your eyes, your arms, your breasts, your neck, your skin. I love it all.’ Tara’s body tensed as she felt the overpowering rush of an orgasm filter thru her body. “Willow." she moaned.
Willow had felt her lover’s body spasm. ‘How did I manage that?’ she wondered, looking down at where she had been kissing Tara. There was a small red mark. Willow licked the spot and then kissed it. She sat up and looked down at the goddess that was laying under her. “That was new.” she pointed out as she leaned down to give her lover a soft kiss. “You’ve never done that before.”
Tara took a deep breath desperately trying to recover coherent thought. “First, yeah.” was all she managed to say.
Willow gave her one last kiss on the lips and then climbed off the bed. “Hope you liked your surprise.” she said with a wicked grin as she walked into the bathroom.
“Absolutely.” she muttered, slowly standing up waiting for the weak feeling in her legs to dissipate. ‘This day is looking better already.’ she thought as she heading for the door.
