I think you can stop trying to get me into the setting of the story. It's awsome. The fact that it's set during the Civil War makes me wonder more about what's going to happen in the near future. Can't wait for the next update.

You know you're dirty-minded when:

the first thing that pops into your head after reading about Willow coming in after the storm is: Wet T-shirt Contestant number 1 - Willow.

Oooooh yeah. Giggity Giggity! And now for the more mundane and less icky part of my feedback. Willow is SO CUTE. So cute. So very, my goodness put them together already, cute. Your tone right from the get-go is so . . . soothing, Southern, something so relaxing and comforting. It all flows through my mind like something flow-y. WEEEE.

ACK! I had been out cause my uncle weed and then missed two updates!! No way :shy

So newcomers on the house he he, sound interesting. Spike and Buffy, cool.
Oh, making Willow analphabet was a smart move, unconvencional, I liked it. Besides, now Dawn and mostly Tara could teach her.
It's sad Willow's so convinced Tara don't feel the same way. Though they are doing so well, first night and already sleeping togheter ha ha.

Great chaps, keep it up :peace

My,my,my, so many replies...did I just rhyme? Oh god, someone kill me now...
I guess I'll start from the top...

cantbefredless:Don't worry I'll save you from the pink elephant! Thanks for the stick dances and don't wonder anymore about what's gonna happen cause I've got another update for just for you... :flower .You're welcome for the feedback...now update again missy!

MochaVamp: Glad you are enjoying the story thus far. I actually am pointing to a lot of hurt in two someone's pasts...but more of that later...

Willowlover:Yay I finally got you!!! That makes my day.

BigBlueEyes: Hooray for the pink elephant...just don't let it go near cantbefredless...

beanie: You naughty thing you! That was the farthest thing from my mind when I wrote that but it immedietely popped in there when I proofread it. Gulp, does that mean I'm dirty minded too? About the soothing relaxing Southern-y stuff, I guess it helps that I'm from the South. I just wrote it like home, with the exception of the war and plantation and stuff like that...

viximon:That's me, unconventional. I actually thought that it might be a unique twist since in the show Willow's character is so smart and stuff. Thanks for the feedback!

Dianneswillowtree: These speedy updates are products of you and your fellow Kittens' feedback. Can you keep a secret? Okay, I'm a sucker for praise about my writing. It's like computer-crack or something... major adrenaline rush...thanks for the offer of helping to move...I'll be done soon. Here's another update, so scoot back from the edge of your seat before you fall!

Disclaimer:Again with the redundancy...

The next morning, Willow awoke to find she was indeed a snuggly sleeper. Tara was turned on her side facing away from Willow and Willow was spooned in behind her tightly, holding the lovely blonde as she slept. Willow's first thought was to detangle herself and move to the farthest edge of the bed from Tara, for fear of Tara's rejection if she woke to Willow holding her so intimately. That thought was quickly replaced by her heart commanding her to play dumb and act like she was still asleep if Tara woke up. Willow's eyes took in the form of the angel that she was holding. she could see half of Tara's face from where she lay and she busied herself memorizing it. The round eyes, shapely cheekbones, her slightly curved nose, and her full lips. The dark blonde hair that spread out like honey on a beehive. Her scent was almost indefinable, but Willow thought it resembled something like lilacs and roses after the first spring rain. Willow took in breath after breath of that scent, committing it to her sensory memory and labeling it the most wonderful smell in the world. The sun was beginning to peek over the horizon and Willow was grateful that Tara had come on a Saturday, and that today she wouldn't have to work at the quarry. It was Sunday, the town's proclaimed day of rest. Nothing was open today. Not the general store, the post office, the quarry, nothing. There was work to be done on the plantation but at least Willow would be within viewing distance of Tara all day. The lone rooster began to crow outside and Willow took one more sniff of Tara's hair before she carefully untangled her limbs from Tara's, dressed in her work trousers, white shirt, and boots, then left the room.

Tara had been awake for a while, and she felt Willow starting to awaken. The redhead laid still, her arms wrapped around Tara's waist and her body molded to Tara's back. She could feel the hardened muscles in Willow's body, mainly in her abdomen and arms, but the embrace was tender and comforting. She reasoned she should stay still as long as possible so she could enjoy the feel of Willow's strong ody touching hers. She wondered if Willow would pull away once she realized their proximity but she lay still, and Tara could feel her warm breath grazing her ear lightly. She had the feeling that Willow was watching her and the idea was just fine with her, if not perhaps a little embarassing. She continued to pretend she was asleep until Willow decided that evidently it was time to get up. She had the distant thought pass through her mind to turn over and kiss Willow full on the lips to keep her in bed, but she reminded herself that it was likely Willow wasn't like herr at all and she suppressed her hormonal urge. She heard the bedroom door close softly with a light click, and she knew her dream lover was gone. She rolled over to the still warm pillow and pulled it close, inhaling deeply Willow's rich, earthy scent. She smelled like fresh rain on newly tilled soil. The pillow had a few strands of red hair on it and Tara picked at them absentmindedly as she lay there wondering what Willow's lips tasted like.

Willow came downstairs and into the kitchen to the sight of Dawn and Elizabeth making breakfast together.

"Good morning. i was beginning to wonder if you were going to sleep all day." Dawn smiled at her sister. "Is Tara still asleep?"

Willow ran her hand through her long red locks and around the back of her neck.

"When I got up she was." Willow shrugged and sat down at the table. Elizabeth was cooking ham in a skillet and Dawn put a steaming cup of coffee in front of Willow. Willow took a sip and looked around the kitchen. Anne sat quietly at the table watching Dawn stoke the fire and stir whatever was cooking in the pot over it. Someone else was missing though.

"Where's William?" Willow inquired of Elizabeth.

"I believe he's already out tending to the horses. He's already eaten and had his coffee."

Willow nodded. While she was not lazy, she didn't mind someone else taking care of the horses this morning.

"Will, can you go wake Tara and tell her it's time for breakfast?" Dawn addressed her elder sibling. Willow nodded and took another sip from her coffee before getting up from her seat and quietly climbing the stairs. She got to her room and opened the door softly, peeking in the crack before opening it all the way. What she saw made her smile. Tara was wrapped around her pillow, snuggling with it as tightly as Willow had been with the blonde the night before. What was more was the look Tara had on her face. A placid smile of pure happiness. Willow observed her for a few moments, then wnet to the bed and sat on it carefully so as not to startle the gentle girl.

"Tara, it's time to wake up," Willow gently called to her. Tara decided to play hard to get up. Willow tried a little harder, this time gently shaking the blonde.

"Tara come on. It's late." She said again. Tara simply continued to sleep, or so Willow thought. Tara was doing her best not to smile. Willow, thinking that Tara was in a very deep sleep, decided to do something that would be monumentally stupid if Tara woke up. Checking once more to make sure Tara was asleep, Willow was satisfied and leaned down over Tara, hovering for a moment and studying her features again. Then she pressed her lips ever so softly to the blonde's. Tara barely registered the contact and might not have at all if not for the warm air from Willow's nostrils. She fought the urge to kiss her back, afraid to give herself away if she returned the gentle pressure. Willow pulled away and did another study of Tara's face. She noted that where her skin was slightly tanned and freckled, Tara's was pale and soft and her hair was thick and glossy, and the most beautiful shade of deep gold that Willow had ever seen.

'Alright, enough staring, just wake her.' Willow thought. She reached down and shook Tara a bit harder than the first time. Tara slowly opened her eyes and gazed deeply into Willow's green depths.

"Good morning. You're a deep sleeper." WIllow couldn't stop the slight blush that crept over her face at the though of her stolen kiss. Tara smiled serenely.

"Thank you for w-waking me so gently. Everyone else is a-always s-so mean."

"Well I'm not everyone else. I don't know who could be mean to you." Willow smiled back, finding the girl's stutter slightly endearing. Tara's face turned to one of sadness.

"Y-You didn't k-know my f-family." Tara stumbled badly over this particular sentance. Suddenly the stammer wasn't so cute.

"I don't know what your family did to you but I swear that they'll never hurt you again. I promise. If you ever want to tell me about it, I'm here to listen."

Tara nodded tearfully and brought her arms up and around Willow's neck, pulling the redhead down on top of her. Willow did her best to return the awkward embrace.

"Shh, it's alright. Please don't cry Tara. I can't bear to see you upset." Willow whispered. Tara sobbed a moment more before she let go of Willow and began to wipe her tears away.

"I'm t-terribly s-sorry. I d-didn't mean to-" Tara began, only to be cut off by Willow's finger against her lips.

"Shh, you don't need to apologize. You're in pain. I understand. I'm always here now. I'll never let you get hurt." Willow brushed away a few wet strands of hair that were stuck to Tara's face by her tears. She leaned down so close that her breath mingled with Tara's ragged exhalations, their lips nearly touching. Willow looked deep into Tara's eyes and what she saw was not revulsion at the closeness but rather a welcoming warmth and desire. It was now or never, Willow decided and she leaned down further, closing the distance and firmly pressing her lips to Tara's. Her right hand found itself entangled in the golden locks framing Tara's face while her left hand supported her weight against the mattress. Tara returned the kiss with as much fervor as Willow and the two stayed locked in their passionate exchange, each feeling as if they were in heaven. Willow tasted Tara's lips deeply and relished the sweet honeyed essence of them. Tara could taste Willow's morning coffee, strong and appealing, just like Willow.

"Will, is she up-" Dawn entered the room, stopping dead in her tracks just inside the doorframe. "yet?"

Alright Kittens, since I work the graveyard crew, I have to sleep during the day and I haven't slept at all yet! Plus I still have more moving to do! Not to complain or anything... more soon I promise!

Okay, I'm a bit of a history buff - unfortunately, I don't know a lot about American history (being a Brit), so I'm expecting you to educate me!

I like what I have read so far. I definitely like your Dawn - so much better than the whiney one on the T.V. She obviously loves her sister and wants to see her happy.

I get the impression that Elizabeth and Anne wont be continuing their journey.

Woo Hoo - our girls have kissed! Can't wait for more. :pinky

Alright, so it's been a while since I posted... I can't guarantee this one is gonna be super long but I'll try... as for the replies to feedback, I'll get to it next time when I have more time. Thanks to all you readers! :party

The two women broke apart quickly in shock. Dawn simply smiled and left the room. Willow and Tara exchanged sheepish looks before Willow stood and turned to go. Tara, in a moment of boldness, grabbed Willow's hand and effectively stopped her from leaving. Willow turned and gripped Tara's hand in hers, smiling down at the radiant blonde goddess in front of her.

"Get dressed. I'll be downstairs." Willow said gently before squeezing Tara's hand and leaving the room. Tara flopped back onto her pillow and let out a happy sigh.Willow left the room and practically skipped down the stairs back to the kitchen. She had a smile plastered on her face that the rest of the day wouldn't remove. She couldn't believe Tara felt the same way about her, and that they had kissed. Tara had willingly kissed her. It almost made Willow feel guilty about kissing her when she was asleep earlier. Almost. When Willow entered the kitchen, she spied Dawn going about her chores with a bright smile on her face. They had agreed to never tell anyone about Willow's preference for girls, as most people were not tolerant to that type of lifestyle. Willow didn't really care what everyone else thought but she and Dawn had heard frightening news about a man in another town who was dragged from his home in the middle of the night and hung because he preferred men to women. They had said he was impure. It was that day that they vowed to keep Willow's sexuality a secret.

Willow looked around the kitchen and discovered that Elizabeth was gone.

"Where did Elizabeth go?" She inquired of Dawn.

"Oh she went back upstairs to change." Willow's face lost it's smile.

"She didn't see, did she?" She whispered to her sister.

"No, she came up after me. Besides, she would have no reason to pass your room. Tara's room is on the other end of the hall."

"Okay." Willow walked over the fire and began to make a plate of food. They heard footsteps echoing down the stairs and Tara entered the kitchen, a sweet smile gracing her lips. She went to Dawn and kissed her on top of the head.

"Good morning Dawnie." She smiled at the teen.

"Morning Tara. I trust you slept well?"

"Indeed I did." Was all Tara said, but the smile on her face grew as she turned to Willow. Willow gave her a gentle smile and handed her the plate of food. Tara suddenly became shy and took the food almost timidly from Willow. Their fingertips brushed and a slight blush crept up on Tara's face. Willow smiled again and turned back to the fire to make another plate of food for herself. Tara took a seat at the table and began to eat. Willow slid in across the table from her and Dawn poured them both a cup of coffee.

"Tara I thought you could help me in the garden today, if you are well rested enough from your travels." Dawn suggested.

"That would be lovely Dawn. I loved to work in the garden back home with my mother." Tara's voice wavered as she said the last, and her eyes shone with brief tears as she remembered the special times she had with her mother. Willow saw this and reached across the table, covering one of Tara's delicate hands with her own calloused one. She squeezed lightly and smiled tenderly at the blonde. Tara smiled sadly back and mouthed the word 'later' to Willow. Willow nodded and removed her hand to her own side of the table. They finished breakfast in relative silence and then Tara helped Dawn do the dishes. Willow put on her hat and ventured outside to the stables. William was hard at work cleaning the stables.

"You don't have to do that." Willow told him.

"Just think of it as payment for the lodgings last night for the ladies and myself." He continued to spread hay in the bottom of the stall. Willow nodded nad grabbed a pitchfork to help. They had the stables done in a matter of minutes and the horses brushed and fed .

"Well that's one less chore I have to do today." She took William's hand and shook it firmly. "Thank you. You're a good man."

"Well I think you're very brave, taking in strangers and the like. Not many people'll do that."

"I won't usually turn someone down. No one should have to sleep on the ground when I have an extra bed."

"Well then I say you're a good woman."

"Thank you."

"Well I think it's about time we were on our way." William stated as he dusted off his hands and led his horse out of the stables. Willow followed him and helped him hitch the horse to the carriage.

When they returned inside, Tara and Dawn were packing the remainder of breakfast for the three travellers. Elizabeth argued that their journey was not much longer, but the stubborn women would hear none of it. They placed the packages in Elizabeth's hands and William told her it was time to leave. They all said their goodbyes and Willow found it adorable that Anne wanted to 'stay with Miss Tara and Miss Dawn forever', as she put it. Tara leaned down and kissed the tiny child on the head, saying she could come and visit anytime. Willow heartily agreed, as well as Dawn. As they watched the carriage leave the plantation, Tara slipped her hand into Willow's. Willow smiled and pulled her close, reveling in the smell of Tara's hair and the warmth of her body. She kissedher lightly on the temple and smiled as Tara sighed happily.

"Well I'd better get to work if were going to have music night tonight." Willow said as she looked out at the fields.

"You h-have music nights?" Tara questioned with a lopsided half-smile.

"Yes, every Sunday night Dawn and I sit around and play our instruments and sing. It's our form of amusement."

"That sounds wonderful. I didn't k-know you could play an instrument."

"Well Dawn plays the fiddle and I play the mandolin. We have a piano, but we do not know how to play it."

"I can play the piano."

"Really? That's wonderful! We have another musician."

Tara smiled brightly and Dawn practically skipped off to her chores. Willow and Tara shared a chaste kiss before Willow went to the barn to get her cotton sacks for picking the cotton. She would pick cotton until the sun was at it's highest, then she would stop and eat with Dawn and Tara. Then she would return to the fields and pick corn until the sun was on the horizon. then she would head to the stables to feed the animals and when the sun set, she would join Tara and Dawn for supper. After supper they would sit around and sing.

Tara and Dawn would have a full day as well, although Willow suspected theirs would have more free time than she, since Dawn usually had to do all her chores by herself. They would gather the eggs from the chicken coop first, and then they would gather and store the vegetables from the garden. They would start on the dough for bread and let it rise while they made lunch, for which they would join Willow. After lunch, they would start work on the cotton Willow gathered from the field. They would remove the seeds and spend the better part of the afternoon spinning it into yarn, some of which they would keep, and the rest would go to town to be sold. Then at sunset they would prepare supper and eat with Willow. Then came the music.

The day seemed long to Willow. The morning air was cool and crisp, and noon was warm, but she knew it would start to get cold as the sun set below the horizon.

Tara and Dawn spent the day getting to know one another, and Tara got to know Willow through Dawn. She learned that Dawn and Willow were only half sisters, Willow's mother had died when Willow was just five. From then on, Willow's father had left Willow to fend for herself until he remarried. Dawn was born, but her mother died in childbirth. Willow's aunt had come to stay with them and raise the children until Willow was seventeen and Dawn was twelve. Willow didn't like the way her aunt treated her and Dawn and convinced her father that she could take care of herself and Dawn and that he should send their aunt away. He did so. So Willow had raised Dawn for the last four years, insisting that she was schooled and taught to read and write. Their father had died the previous year of typhoid disease, which he contracted on his way home from a business trip. He was exempt from the war because he was too old to fight, but he still travelled all over Kentucky and Tennessee to do business with men in the slave trading industry. Their father never kept any slaves but he acquired and traded them often. Willow didn't approve of his business but never spoke out against it.

Dawn learned very little about Tara, except that she too knew how to read and write and that her mother had died when she was sixteen. She didn't talk much about her father and she learned that Tara had a brother two years older than her named Donald. She wouldn't talk about him much either, only to say that he wasn't very nice to her.

Tara also learned from Dawn that Willow had a friend that had been sent off to the war and she hadn't heard from him in almost a year. His name was Alexander. He had been stationed somewhere in Virginia, but that was all his last letter contained. Willow was very worried about him, as she had heard about several big battles that had been fought near the fort he was stationed at. Willow and Dawn often took in strangers, sometimes a wayward soldier making his way home from the war, sometimes lost or stranded travellers. Tara smiled at Dawn as she thought about their bravery and kindness at taking in complete strangers.

The sun was setting and Tara passed by the foyer window just as Willow trudged up the stairs to the front door. The redhead caught sight of the blonde beauty and smiled fondly as Tara stopped to wait for her near the door.

"Hello you." Willow smiled and caught Tara's hand. Tara didn't reply, but smiled shyly and lowered her head submissively. Willow captured her under the chin and tilted her head up to meet green eyes.

"We really must correct that."

"W-What?" Tara stammered, thinking she'd done something wrong.

"You always looking at the floor. Someone as beautiful as you should never hide that from the world, Tara Maclay." Willow said with such sincerity in her voice that Tara almost believed her. She lowered her eyes again and blushed, mumbling something too low for Willow to hear.

"What?"

"I s-said I'm n-not beautiful."

"Who told you that?"

"Everyone at h-home. E-Except M-Mama. She always s-said I was. But they s-said she w-was crazy." Tears filled Tara's eyes as she spoke.

"Tara look at me." Willow commanded firmly. Once she had Tara's full attention she continued. "Am I crazy?"

Willow gazed deeply into Tara's deep blue irises. Tara shook her head, making the tears in her eyes flow down her cheeks. Willow's thumb found them and wiped them away.

"Well since you do not think I am crazy and I know I'm not, I say you're beautiful. That's the truth."

Tara nodded tearfully and a slight smile came to her lips. Willow smiled gently and pulled Tara into a tender embrace. She held her and ran her hand in circles across the blonde's back, sometimes venturing up to stroke the thick golden hair that hung loosely down the woman's back. She took Tara by the shoulders and pulled her back slightly to leave a soft, loving kiss on her lips.

"Now, we'll have no more talk of you being anything but beautiful and kind and amazing. Do you understand?" Willow said firmly in mock sternness. Tara laughed at Willow's silly antics and wiped a hand over the wet streaks on her face.

"There now, that's better. Now let's go eat. I'm starving."

Alright I'm back... Now for some replies before my next chapter:

BigBlueEyes: Thanks very much!

Dianneswillowtree: Aww, you're gonna make me blush... :blush

cantbefredless:Yay another dance. I do so enjoy those! Thanks Stef!

Guppy:Glad you're enjoying it! Gives me some fuel for the fire...

Willowlover: Hahaha! You have fallen prey to my evil scheme! Not really but I'm glad I could change your mind! This update is for you! :flower

Caz:I didn't forget your last feedback, I promise! I'm glad there's a fellow history buff out there. I like my Dawn better too, she always got on my nerves on the show. I didn't want Elizabeth and Anne and William to stay because I think they take away from the premise of the story. They were just examples of Willow, Dawn, and Tara's personalties.

Note: The song in this chapter is Willie Nelson's 'Blue Eyes Cryin' In the Rain'.

And now without the usual ado...

Tara allowed Willow to lead her by the hand into the kitchen. Dawn already had the food on the table for them and Willow sat down at the head of the table with Tara and Dawn on each side.

"I figure that by next month we'll have enough money to start the plantation back up." Willow began diplomatically.

"It'll be a lot of work for us by ourselves." Dawn answered around a mouthful of vegetables.

"Well we'll see about hiring some help. I don't know if we could pay them very much but I figure that with the war on, there's got to be someone around here that needs work. They'd probably work for whatever wages we could give them."

"I-I can help." Tara chimed in. " I know that I-I wouldn't make much of a difference b-but I'll do whatever I can to h-help."

"Of course you'd make a difference. That's not even a question." Willow said as she slid a hand over Tara's.

"Yes and if all three of us can't do it together then it will be like Will said, we'll just find someone to help." Dawn said with a smile. "I wish Alexander were here. He'd help us."

"Alexander has his own farm to take care of. And a fiance as well. I wouldn't dream of imposing on him for help when he gets home." Willow argued. Dawn lowered her head and put her spoon in her bowl. Willow knew what she was thinking.

"He's coming back Dawnie, I promise." Willow said softly, her own head lowered as she pretended to study her food. Tara remained silent but the sympathy in her eyes was apparent as she regarded both young women silently. Willow picked up her spoon again and began to eat, but the conversation stopped throughout the rest of supper. After supper, Tara and Dawn did the dishes while Willow went in search of something for Tara. By the time the girls were done with the dishes, Willow had found what she was looking for. She held the folder out to Tara.

"It was my mother's. She could play the piano but she never got to teach me. I want you to have it."

Tara opened the folder to reveal several sheets of piano music.

"This is wonderful Will. Thank you." Tara overcame her usual shyness and Willow a sweet kiss on the lips. Willow smiled goofily after Tara pulled away and headed for the piano in the sitting room. Dawn put Willow's mandolin in her hands and pushed her after Tara before taking up her fiddle and beginning to tune it. Willow shook her head out of the clouds and began to tune her instrument as well. Tara opened the cover of the dusty piano and found it slightly out of tune, but it would have to do until she could sit down and properly tune it herself. She opened the sheet music on the stand and began to look it over. Willow cleared her throat and began a slow song on her mandolin. Dawn joined in on her fiddle.

"This one is for you Tara." Willow said with a wink before beginning to sing.

'In the twilight glow I see you,
Blue eyes crying in the rain.
And when we kissed goodbye and parted,
I knew we'd never meet again.

Love is like a dying ember,
And only memories remain.
And through the ages I'll remember,
Blue eyes crying in the rain.

Dawn played a solo on her fiddle as Willow continued to play and stare at Tara. When Dawn's solo was over, Willow resumed singing the last verse.

Someday when we meet up yonder,
We'll stroll hand in hand again.
In the land that knows no parting,
Blue eyes crying in the rain.

Willow finished the song and sat in silence, her eyes never leaving Tara's.

"That was beautiful." Was all Tara could say as she felt tears come to her eyes.Thunder started to rumble outside and Dawn and Tara looked at the windows, but Willow's eyes remained fully focused on Tara. Tara could feel Willow's intense stare and looked back at the redhead, whose hair seemed even more fiery in the light of the evening fire. Tara shyly looked to the floor, suddenly finding a wooden plank on the floor more interesting than anything. Willow smiled slightly to herself and called Dawn away from the window.

"Well what song should we do next Dawnie?" Willow asked the teen. Dawn thought for a moment before standing and going to Tara at the piano. She began shuffling through the sheet music on the stand until she found the on she was looking for.

"Can you play it?" She asked Tara.

"Of course. This is a very pretty song Dawnie. Good choice."

"Thanks."Dawn blushed. It was obvious she was quite taken with Tara. She told Willow the song, then began the lead with her fiddle. They all joined in and the rest of the evening was filled with song after song.

When Willow finally looked at the clock on the mantle, she was surprised to see it read ten-thirty.

"Well look how late it is. We'd better get in bed. I've got to be at the quarry tomorrow. Come on Dawn, off to bed with you."

Dawn let out a perfunctory groan and stood to put her fiddle away. Willow put her mandolin in the corner and turned to Tara.

"There's fresh water from the well in the kitchen. It's in the bucket by the door. You should go wash up before Dawn gets her hands on it. She's a water hog." Willow said with a chuckle.

"I heard that!" Dawn huffed from her position by the fire.

"Thank you for your advice.I'll go wash right away." Tara tried to stifle her laughter at Dawn's look of indignation. She kissed the brunette on the cheek as she passed.

"Goodnight Dawnie. Don't worry, I'll save you some water."

"Goodnight Tara."Dawn said, giving her a good-natured shove as she walked by. Tara laughed and disappeared into the kitchen.

"Goodnight Dawn." Willow said as she walked by Dawn on her way to the kitchen.

"Goodnight Will. Sleep well, if you do any sleeping at all." Dawn snickered.

Willow's gasp and expression as she turned back to face Dawn was priceless.

"Enough young lady, march." Willow said as she pointed in mock anger to the stairs. Dawn saluted her and ran giggling to the stairs. Her laughter faded as she left Willow's earshot. Willow just sighed and turned back toward the kitchen. She met Tara coming out of the kitchen with a water pitcher to her room filled.

"Save me some?" Willow smiled charmingly.

"Of c-course." Tara smiled back.

Dawn watched from the top of the stairs as her sister and the new member of their family interacted. She had no idea that Tara had seen her still sitting there. She watched as Tara leaned into Willow as if to kiss her.

"I think we're being watched." Tara whispered to Willow. The words almost didn't register as the only thing Willow was focused on was Tara's proximity and how warm her breath was across her cheek. It wasn't until Tara gestured with her eyes to the top of the stairs that the words made any sense. Willow rolled her eyes and without turning, called out to her sister.

"Dawn, go to bed."

"Nobody lets me see anything good around here." Dawn grumbled with a sigh as she stalked off to her room. Willow and Tara heard the door slam and both burst into laughter. They stood there in a fit of giggles until they regained enough composure to finally speak.

"We should get to b-bed." Tara stated, wiping a tear from her eye.

"Yes, I guess we should," Willow answered before leaning in to whisper in Tara's ear, "but the question is; whose bed should we go to?"

Tara flushed deeply and diverted her gaze away from Willow's stare as a wave of arousal swept through her body. Willow saw her slight shiver and smiled inwardly. She held her hand out and Tara took it, allowing herself to be lead up the stairs. Willow paused a moment at the top, as if deciding which room to go to. Moments went by before she finally pulled Tara to her room once again.

"My room is further from Dawn's." She reasoned to Tara as she shut the door behind them. Minutes ago, Willow had been the bold one, but now she stood awkwardly in front of the closed door, suddenly finding a loose thread on the front of her shirt very interesting. Tara stood in the middle of the room trying to decide if she was ready for this. She loved Willow yes, but there was a small fear of rejection still tucked away in the back of her mind. She feared Willow would still turn away. Willow sensed Tara's unease and her self-comfort became the least important thing to her at the moment. She crossed the room to Tara and took the water jug from her hands.

"Come on, get washed up and then we can change and go to sleep." She said quietly. Tara nodded and Willow poured water into the basin in the corner. She handed Tara a towel and Tara washed her face and neck. When she was done she poured the water out the window and poured more for Willow to wash with while she went to her room to fetch a clean nightshift. When Tara came back, Willow was already washed and changed and standing at the window, looking out at the rain which had begun shortly after their music night had ended. Tara began to unbutton her dress and untie it but the tie became knotted and try as she might, she couldn't get the knot out.

"Willow, could you untie this please? It's knotted and I can't get it undone." Tara quietly requested. Willow turned and nodded.

"Turn around." She gently instructed the blonde. Her fingers carefully indid the tie and as if on their own, began to unbutton the last buttons near Tara's waist. She caressed Tara's pale skin with her dark rough hands as she unbuttoned the last button on Tara's dress. She pulled open the dress in the back and began to kiss Tara's neck, smelling the sweet rose oil that Tara had put on in her room. Tara's breathing increased steadily with every kiss that Willow planted on her skin. Willow ran her hands up Tara's back to her shoulders, pushing the dress off the shoulders and down the soft arms of the blonde.

Tara wriggled slightly out of the top half of her dress and Willow kissed her way down Tara's back to the indention of her lower back before pulling the dress down and off of Tara's hips. It fell to the floor with a soft swish and Willow rounded to Tara's front, helping her step out of the dress and leading her towards the bed. Tara leaned into Willow and kissed her softly, drawing the kiss out until the back of Willow's legs hit the side of the bed. Tara ran her hands up under Willow's shirt and stopped in surprise when she felt several thick ridges spanning the width of Willow's back. Her look of shock made Willow grimace.

"I knew this would come up eventually." Willow said as she turned her back to Tara and lifted her shirt over her own head. Tara gasped when she saw several large dark scars crisscrossing Willow's back. Whip scars, by the looks of them and with a heavy hand.

"The reason I had my father send my aunt away. When my father was gone for long periods of time, my aunt had a gentleman friend that would visit and stay with us. My aunt would put me and Dawn to work and he would watch over us like we were slaves. He had a braided leather whip that was tipped in steel, and if he didn't like the way we were working or we weren't going fast enough, he would beat us. I always took Dawn's whipping for her, so she doesn't have many scars. The ones that she has were from when I was gone or working in some other part of the plantation." Willow finished. Tara traced the scars gently with her fingertips.

"Will, I'm so sorry. You are such a brave, strong woman to do that for Dawn."

"She's my sister. I couldn't watch her beaten for something like that."

"You love her very much." Tara said in simple understanding.

"No, that's where you're wrong. I adore her with my whole heart. But I love you." Willow said softly as she turned to face Tara. She could see every one of Tara's beautiful curves in the flashes of lightning. She ran her hands around Tara's waist and pulled her close.

"I love you too Will." Tara sighed as she nuzzled her face into Willow's shoulder. Willow felt the softness of Tara's skin on hers and took a deep shuttering breath. Tara raised her head and Willow kissed her passionately, not breaking the kiss as she turned them and gently laid Tara back on the bed, half kneeling and half laying on her. Tara's hair fanned out across the pillow and in the light from the storm, glowed around her face like a halo. Tara could feel Willow's hands still in place on her hips and the soft cotton of Willow's pants against the inside of her thighs. She gasped as Willow trailed her kisses down her neck and to her collarbone while at the same time, brought a hand up to run lightly over left breast. Tara looped her arms under Willow's and curled them up to grasp at Willow's back and shoulders. Willow shifted and pushed her knee up further into Tara's core, stirring a feeling in Tara's being that she had never felt before. She pressed her face into the curve of Willow's neck and inhaled deeply. Willow felt the cool air drag across her skin and into Tara's nose, then a warm change as Tara exhaled and the balmy air sailed over her collarbone. The redhead's right hand tenderly strayed down Tara's velvety skin to the blonde's stomach, were Willow lightly caressed the area aroung her navel before venturing further southward. Her dexterous fingers played over the dark blonde curls and she felt the rising warmth of her lover's most private area. Gently she slipped a finger into the wetness there and Tara cried out.

"Ugh, Will..." A look of pain momentarily passed over Tara's face. Willow stilled and looked down at the object of her affection. She hadn't realized Tara had never done this before.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize...do you want me to stop?" Willow said softly.

"No, just...be gentle." Tara whispered as she shifted a bit under Willow. Willow nodded and slowly pulled her finger almost out, then just as cautiously pushed it back in. Little by little, Tara acclimated herself to the feeling of Willow inside of her until it began to feel good. She clung tighter to Willow and Willow, mistaking the embrace as one of pain, stopped again.

"Am I hurting you?"

"No it feels...nice." Tara looked at Willow and the lightning flashed as a serene smile gradually spread over her face. Willow simply smiled back and hugged Tara closer, kissing the curve of the blonde's neck. The feather light touch caressed Tara's skin in a way that made her whole body shudder. Willow slowly and carefully inserted another finger and Tara gave a tiny whimper.

"Just tell me if you want me to stop," Willow said but she didn't remove her fingers, instead she kept cautiously pushing them in and out. She felt Tara nod against her shoulder and waited a few more moments before curling her fingers up and finding the soft ridge within her love. At the same time, she moved her thumb up to above where her fingers were thrusting, invoking a new feeling in Tara's stomach. Tara shivered and moaned quietly. She felt something welling up in the pit of her belly.

"Willow, don't stop." Tara whispered, afraid that any more sound might destroy the beauty of the moment. Suddenly a rushing wave of warmth washed through her insides, heading straight towards her lower regions. She felt something trickle out of her and onto Willow's hand. It was the most wonderful thing she had ever felt, next to the feel of Willow's skin and lips on hers. She sighed as she felt Willow shiver as well, then press her warm face into the bend in the blonde's neck. Willow was breathing heavily, Tara noticed and wondered what Willow had felt. Her red hair splayed across the gentle blonde's neck and chest and she interlaced the fingers of her left hand with Tara's as she slowly removed her fingers from Tara's body. She wiped the fingers on the sheet and tenderly ran her hand up and down Tara's side.

"I love you Tara." Came a soft whisper into Tara's ear.

"I love you too Will." Tara whispered back.

Willow rolled onto her back and pulled Tara with her, so the blonde's head rested on her shoulder, and they both drifted off into a contented sleep.

Woo, that was a lot of writing. That ought to keep ya'll satisfied for a while though. Have a wonderful day! See ya'll later!

Can we find the man who whipped Willow and Dawn, and when we do can we kill him?

Good update. The musical evening was lovely - I'd forgotten that this was how they used to entertain themselves.

Glad to see Willow and Tara together as a couple. That's the way it should be. :pinky
