Postby Kaisyn » Sat Aug 24, 2002 9:22 pm

Hey I live in MN too! Pretty impressive phone bill there darlin. I remember telling At&t Hell No I don't owe you 615 dollars on my cell phone. Got it knocked down to less than 150 and got a better phone!

Howdy. I am absolutely loving this. As I have thoroughy enjoyed all of your fics. I've read them all at least twice. Shew that makes me sound like I have alot of time on my hands. Oh wait, I do. Anyway, the emotions I go thru while reading your words are amazing. I'm laughing, on the verge of tears or stunned from one scene to the next. In my little existance you make it something akin to living. Hope to see more soon. Anne

So glad you've continued this story line. I made sure to catch up on Unexpected Consequences before I went on vacation...I can't even begin to explain how marvelous that fic is! Let me know when I can buy the book :) . Love every single thing about UC - the characters, the building of the story line, the challenge...simply amazing. And loving milestones. The binkie part was hilarious. This is my fav setting/au/storyline. And Lisa...I'll be sure to flood those addresses with e-mail and letters.

Fairydust, I thought I was bad with my $100 a month phone calls to my gf when we lived 2000 miles apart for 2 years. That is, until I was cleaning out old files of hers last year and found phone bills for $3000 and $6000. Paying off the last $1000 two years later, lol! Don't know how the hell those minutes add up so fast! Well, actually I do, but... :blush you know what I mean.

Wow, i was so glad to see there was the new milestone thread... I've been looking forward to it since you posted the first three chapters...

This update was great, it's so funny when Brianna makes buffy crazy by calling her Fluffy;)

And i loved it when willow explained to Brianna why she should knock before entering the room;)

I felt sorry for willow though, learning she was not pregnant:( And for tara too. But i know that with you, our girls will always have the best and be happy and safe... eventually;)

Can't wait for more...

Kaisyn-I live about an hour away from the twin cities. In Owatonna....shitty little town, but oh well. Britney Spears was just here the other night too:( lol, that makes it even worse...lol)

As dumb as it sounds, I am actually kinda proud of my phone bill. I mean, who else has 2000 minutes of phone sex...:blush I mean, 2000 minutes of phone talking!!! just talking!!! :blush *runs away and blushes furiously*lol

I think my status as "Flamming O" has been officially achieved now;) lol

Hi everyone,

thank you so much for the wonderful responses!

And now, on to the replies!

WICCANSILLUSION: Glad this update warranted a woo and a hoo. Stay

tuned for pregnant Willow. (or see the preview!)

Thanks for the reply,

L

TIREDSOUL:

I'm thrilled you like what I have posted so far.

Of course WIllow compares loving Tara to something computer

related. She has to combine her two passions...Tara and hacking!

(Of course Brianna is part of her passion/love for Tara- and

their family.)

As for the sadness, this story is focusing more on the happier

milestones for WIllow and Tara, but I have to toss in some

tension and angst. Too much happiness and it might get boring.

(Of course, too much misery and I might get recruited to work at

M.E.)

Hope you like where I take the story.

Thanks,

L

ITALIANGIRL:

I am so glad the love between the scoobies is coming through.

This has been the most difficult story to write because of the

crap we saw in season six. I find myself not wanting to taint

Willow and Tara with the other scoobies (the TV versions) and I

have to keep reminding myself that in my universe, the scoobies

never went down that dark road.

This story has been a bit "scooby-lite" because of that. Anya and

the others won't show up for some time. Frankly, I haven't yet

decided if Xander will live to make an appearance. I really want

to have him killed by having a truckload of yellow crayons crush

him. It would help if folks let me know what they feel toward

Xander. I'd like to get "my" Xander back.

Thank you for sending letters. I think we all need to send out

another batch. We need M.E., Fox, and UPN to know that we will

not just fade away.

I look forward to having discussions about feminism and

lesbianism. Maybe we can bounce ideas around and then start a

thread... kind of an on-line women's night out. (I'm going to a

writer's group at the local gay bookstore tonight, BTW!)

Thanks for the support, and the poem!

L

TOMMO:

Thank you for helping me with the out-dated Bobbie stuff. *sigh*

As a boring American, I was charmed by the image of bobbies. (And

it's so close to boobies.) I come from a family of cops on this

side of the ocean and all our cop names are so boring. Thanks

again!

L

MOLLYIG:

first thing... every time I type your name I write "mollygig."

Where does that nickname come from? (Yours, not my version)

second, thank for sending your reply. I really like know which

sections people liked or were intrigued by or worried about. The

Keepers took quite a beating. They'll need some time to regroup,

then, look out. ;-) As for Bri teasing Fluffy... I don't see that

ending anytime soon. *G* Funny you should mention Sheila... look

for her to show up and stir some trouble.

Thanks again,

L

URN OF OSIRIS:

You are most welcome!

Thank YOU for sending comments to the powers that be. Please send

out another round!

Glad you liked the binkie moment. I think Willow and Tara would

be very open with their daughter about sexuality while keeping it

in terms and concepts she could understand. As for Aunt Fluffy, we

haven't seen the last of that. ;-) More to come!

Thanks,

L

TKHEAVEN:

I just love hearing about people introducing fan fic to their

loved ones. It's great that we are expanding our network. I know

people who read fan fic and don't even watch the shows the fic is

based on! Tell your GF that I'd love to hear her reactions as

well. Thanks for the reply,

L

WEBWARLOCK:

Hey Tim,

as always, I can count on your to support me. ;-)

I love this universe as well. I can't even let my mind wander

into the one on TV. That universe is cold, dark, and painful

place. I don't need that.

The daughters did what had to be done, and while that may hurt

Tara, she understands. Plus, she has Brent to help her. As for

the guardians getting killed during the mission? Nope. They

outnumbered the Keepers by at least tenfold. They did take some

injuries, but all is well!

Writing the scene where they learned they were not pregnant was

difficult. I tried not to linger on the scene. I thought of many

friends who have experienced that pain, and wanted to acknowledge

their sense of loss.

I would love to see the actual spell. I kinda made mine up. Guess

I was channeling some ancient wiccan.

Doctor Dawn has a big role in the story. I know many people don't

like Dawn, but after what happened at the end of Season Sux, she

is the only one I really still liked. (Well, Anya is always a

hoot.) I am slowly warming to the others again. As for Bre, she

kind HAD to stay at the sanctuary, though she and Dawn are close.

You will see more of her later. Smoking? You think Doctor Dawnie

should smoke? *sigh* Well, since you know these things, I will

take a look at it. I suppose that would open up for scenes of

Brianna explaining the dangers of smoking her her Auntie Dawn.

;-)

Thanks again,

L

CAPTMURDOCK:

I have really enjoyed writing Doctor Dawn. If there are any docs

on the list who have a few med school stories, I would love to

hear them. Dawn needs some funny experiences to share. I was

thinking she might hide kegs in the cadaver storage drawers at

the school. ;-)

Willow and ice cream...is vanilla a real flavor? Vanilla is a

canvas for other flavors. If it isn't buried in hot fudge, why

bother?

Thanks for voting and the reply,

L

PUFF:

A regular thing? I will try. My real life stuff is really

overwhelming right now. Aunt Fluffy will not go anywhere! Check

the preview. That should give you a happy as far as Willow goes!

Thanks for always sending feedback.

L

ALLYSON12:

Glad to to bring some happiness to your day. I hope you enjoy the

story.

Thanks for posting,

L

AMYMLC:

Never fear, the sadness is always short lived in my stuff. We got

enough misery on our TV screens for our entire lives. I won't do

that to you.

Thanks for the reply,

L

FAIRYDUST:

Thanks. I think Brianna may just have whopper of a phone bill in

her future. ;-)

L

TOMMO:

Again, thanks for the heads up about the police issue. Most

people in California (where the sanctuary is based) that I know

call peace officers "cops" or "police," or chips if they are

highway patrol. (California Highway Patrol= CHiPs.) The chips

thing went out of favor with actual CHP officers after that 70s

TV show came on the air, it's making a comeback. I will change

that section the next time I do an edit. Thanks again for helping

me keep the "voice" accurate.

L

MISSQUIRY:

Being prepared is good. BUT, look for a few things that just

can't be planned for! ;-)

I think Buffy is easily annoyed. *G*

Thanks for the reply,

L

JENNPURR:

Again with the scampering? ;-) My work here is done!

L

LOLA19:

I thought the teaser would ease the stress of waiting. Naked

Tara, naked Willow, lotion...okay, now I am all tingly! Thanks

for taking time to reply. I love hearing which sections people

liked most. Then I can be sure to add more of that kind the next

time. See, I like to give the readers what they want...because

most humans WANT what they NEED, a little happiness.

L

---------

Okay, that is the first page of replies! Whew!

I will get back to the second page after I handle some of my real life stuff! Thanks again. I will reply to everyone!

So glad to see this story continuing. A quick question about Brigh and Ceri: we didn't get to see their reunion; will we get to see them together again soon? They were a cute couple.

And thanks for the way you write Dawn. I agree - her actions at the end of S6 really lifted her in my eyes. Dawn's a kitten for sure. :)

Thanks again!

Re: thanks!

Postby WebWarlock » Tue Aug 27, 2002 10:11 pm

Hey!

Yeah every med student I worked with was either a chain smoker or addicted to caffine pills or epinephrin (like speed only not *as* bad). But that is the same as saying every grad student I worked with was a drunk. ;) (No I am not the one that got really drunk after teaching my classes got on a train and travelled 300 miles to surprise his then girlfriend. Many times. musta been some other guy...)

I know the Daughters had to do that. I was reading something I wrote about the Daughters of the Flame back in 1999. Trying to picture your vision of them with what I wrote then. It still worked. I mean Brigit is not Morgan, but I would not piss her off.

I did get a request for this, so I hope you don't mind.

Spell: Parthenogenesis

The conjurer can make a woman pregnant by magic. This is possible even for female conjurers. The child is normal, with genetic traits from both parents. The mother does not have to be present when the spell is cast. The child get's a penalty versus the spells crossbreeding and fetus perversion in such a case.

If the conjurer who casts the spell is a woman, the child will always be a girl. A female conjurer can cast this spell on herself and give birth to an exact copy of herself, a clone.

Components: Semen or menstrual blood from the conjurer. Hair, blood or flesh from the prospective mother (spell focus). Candles to be lit durning the ceremony.

Magical implements: The Chalice (symbol of the Goddess)

Protective Circle: Not needed.

Invocations: Long, mumbled formulas where the name of planned child is mentioned. Some deity of connected to fertility is always invoked.

Gestures: The conjurer moves as if they were having sexual intercourse.

Visualizations: The conjurer imagnes his or her own life force as a glowing sphere which is transfered to the prospective mother.

Casting time: 6 hours.

So. This is from a book written in 1993. I know Lisa does not have this book because we have talked about what books we have in comon in the past AND it took me this long to find it myself. (Ah Ebay!).

So changes for Lisa's world. Well obviously the trappings are not needed. The chant is replaced by singing. I am sure Brigit's name was invoked (she was the mid-wife to Rhianon so she is a fertility goddess). The Lethe's Bramble replaces the other components. And why simulate sex, when you can actually have it. I am sure Willow and Tara can do six hours! ;) I am also sure that (loud) vocal affirmations of love would be just fine instead of mentioning the would be child's name.

Now here was my thought I shared with Lisa.

Willow and Tara have been reincarnated many times. Each time they find each other. One of their early incarnations were Damara (Willow) and Belen (Tara), two temple girls in the service of Diana in Lisa's "Tears of the Goddess". Well someone had to create this spell. I say it was Damara and Belen. Seems logical to me.

They passed it down to the druidesses Laith (Tara) and Bohdmal (Willow) of pagan Celtic Ireland (my story, "The Dark Druid") and so on. Till it ended up in Tara's mother's spellbook.

Tara wrote this spell for herself to use many times!

See I told you l love this universe!

I love Dawn as well, but you knew that.

I taught in a med school, so does that count?

Well, I just caught up with it all and after reading Unexpected Consequences, this was a must read! I absolutely love reading your stories but the frustrating part about this is that it's not finished and I want more... right now! *stomps foot* ;)

I can just imagine how crabby Willow's going to get and I was laughing at the teaser. I think Willow watches too much Discovery Channel too and I look forward to more references to it. They crack me up.

Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting the next update.

Hi Lisa,

I've been reading your fanfic, and have to tell you that I like it very much.

In fact, I joined the board just so I could post this reply! Ordinarily, I just lurk a bit :)

I have to tell you that the first four chapters of Milestones have been very entertaining (although I would like to see a little more of Willow's pregnancy). It would be fun to see how Willow reacts to Tara being overprotective.

I'll be keeping an eye out for updates. Although, waiting for them can be quite excrutiating.

Keep up the good work.

Just a heartfelt thank you for continuing to share your W/T universe with us. I'm a big fan of the whole daughters of the flame thing ;) .

It's so wonderful that you've branched off from the show so much that you can continue to give us tales of W/T happiness.

I'm glad to see Willow's still hacking. It's such a big part of her. And it's so right on that she would have decided to be pregnant this time to spare Tara going through the same kind of ordeal as the first time. That's true love. :)

Postby Lisa of Nine » Thu Aug 29, 2002 1:21 pm

Hi all,

I am back. Thanks for all the support, for my stories and with

the emails to the nasty folks at Mutant Enemy and company.

And now, on to the replies for page two:

JENNPURR:

See, I had a bunch of this story sitting on my hard dirve...and I

realized if I didn't start posting it, I wouldn't be motivated to

finish it. I read all this great feedback and it makes we want to

write more. ;-) now then... Ceri? She's coming back soon... with her honey, and they will give Tara and Willow lots of teasing. Aunt Fluffy?

Well, Brianna does like to tease her aunt. the Milk? Willow hates binkies, and who can blame her. There's nothing like the real thing... (Please no one break into song!) Buffy? The next section is Buffy-lite. I am focusing on the day to day at the sanctuary and tossing in some trouble from within. Sorry. :-( Anya and Giles? Again, see the last comment.

Thanks for always giving such detailed replies. I do listen to

folks, and unlike unnamed rat bastards, I adjust the story if

people really miss a certain character. I'll see if I can work

the scoobies in a bit sooner.

thanks!

L

KENDAHL1897

I wish SOMEONE who likes Willow and Tara would write for the show. Hell, someone who likes any of the characters besides Xander. I like the idea of posting a chapter each

Tuesday...hmm... maybe at 8:00pm EST? So, should I STOP posting these chapters now and wait for the new season? ;-) Kidding. I do have a long Willow and Tara novel on my harddrive gather cyber dust. Maybe I will dust it off when the new season starts. (It's kinda dark for most of the story, but it has a happy ending. I haven't posted it yet because it has scenes that are almost Tara/other. Given how things on the show went to crap, I thought the last thing anyone would want to see was Tara almost with someone else, even if she does reunite with Willow in the end. As for your ratings points... I love that you will be the voice of all the Kittens who are not watching. On thing... I think that any kittens who are official households should NOT talk about it on the board. I don't know the Neilsen rules, but it may cause you problems, and we don't want that!

Thanks for reading and replying,

L

WICCANILLUSION: What if I were to post a chapter each Tuesday so people could read it...say... from 8:00pm- 9:00pm? Would you like the serial form then? ;-)

I am trying to finish as quickly as possible. I'm even writing

this when I should working on some other things I should be.

(sorry Tim. I know I am taking forever on the other thing!)

Thanks for the reply!

L

WEBWARLOCK:

Yes, she IS our voice. Sadly, ME has there heads up their asses and that makes it hard to hear anything. SO I should give Kendahl a guest spot? Maybe Dr. Brannan can work on a patient named Kendahl when Doctor Dawn is doing rounds. ;-)

I second your thanks to everyone who has written. I am putting up the snail mail stuff as well as FAX info at the end of chapter five. We may not make ME change their minds, but we can bug the hell out of them, and maybe, just maybe, the email someone here sends will the magic one that turns the tide. Maybe some ME executive will say, "look, these people are not shutting up. Just give them what they want so our ratings will come out of the toilet."

Ah well, I can dream.

Tim, as always, thank you.

L

LONEWOLF:

The not pregnant thing was hard to write. I kept the scene short, but I wanted to show how much loss a couple can feel when they get that news. Just thinking they were pregnant made them so happy...imagine the joy actually being pregnant will bring.

Oh, and Tara is all about that new feminism. ;-)

Thanks,

L

KYANWING:

Thanks for the reply. I am thrilled that you are enjoying UC, and I look forward to your reaction to Milestones. Thanks again,

L

TKHEAVEN:

Thanks. I work at drawing the reader in, and it is so nice to hear that it works. I enjoy the humor, and Fluffy just may make another appearance. ;-) It's so sweet that you wanted to comfort Brianna. Don't worry, she will always get her mama back. I love happy endings. The next chapter will be up later today. I hope you like it.

L

WILTAR:

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Getting feedback let's me know if I am getting these stories right. I'm glad you are enjoying Milestones, and thrilled that you've enjoyed my past work.

L

MOLLYIG:

;-) I liked that image myself. Poor WIllow. LOL

Thanks for all your support,

L

KAISYN:

Don't you people have those "unlimited minutes" phone plans? 2000$... 150$... yikes! I definitely need to have Brianna get a huge phone bill so WIllow can deal with the phone company.

L

AUDREYANNE:

You've read them all twice? When you read them a third time, I should have you send me a list of all the little errors you see. I re-read my stuff on-line sometimes and find HUGE mistakes.

I am glad you enjoy my work. Hopefully you can add Milestones to that list when I am done. I'm trying to make this one have more laughs than tears. We'll see if the characters let me keep it that way. Thanks for the reply,

L

IMPERFECTLYME:

Don't do what they do! If you have that kind of extra cash...talk to your friends online and send me the Trevor project your $2000! ;-)

L

ARESLEI:

I'm so thrilled that UC was so well received. I hope to continue with the original characters in Milestones and introduce a few more. I hope you like it. (Plus some distant BtVS characters will show up and be fleshed out.)

Thank you for sending those letters. Don't forget to VOTE at jumptheshark.com The Hollywood folks track that site, so be sure to vote that BtVS 'jumped the shark' when Tara died. (category: death-Tara.) You can even add a rant as to why BtVS sucks and and it will be posted on the site. (Beware, lost of trolls have posted crap there. We need to balance the tone of that site.)

Thanks again,

L

PIKACHU1O60:

I'm glad you've been looking forward to this story. Look for a new chapter later today. ;-) The next sections are Buffy-lite, but she will be back. Ah... the knocking. Funny you should mention that. Look for knocking to be a new theme in this fic. ;-)

Don't worry. I will always get our girls back in each others arms. Thanks again,

L

FAIRYDUST:

I think Willow always turn down the binkie. Who wouldn't with the real thing wrapped in such a nice tara-package? Thanks for the reply,

L

JENNPURR:

Well, prepare to scamper. ;-)

L

SCOUT:

Brigh and Ceri have quite a few scenes coming up. Look for them to torment Willow and Tara every chance they get. Dawn is a great Kitten. I don't know if she will be next season, but I won't be watching, so she is in my eyes. For me the show ended when Tara said making up was the best part. Thanks for the reply,

L

WEBWARLOCK:

Geez, Dawn has to smoke? Well, okay. Maybe I will give Dawn a few drunken escapades in your honor.

Very cool spell, but I did not like the 'fetus perversion' bit. ick. :-(

Maybe I should have Dawn find this spell during her research and she can start asking TONS of questions. Willow would just die!

Thanks again,

L

MOLLYIG:

Now that I know where your nickname came from, it's easier to remember. Molly Indigo Girls. Easy! (Well, not that YOU are easy, but, well, you know what I mean.)

Glad you are liking the story so far. Thanks for the replies and the explanation. I get curious about everyone's names. HEY! Anyone who want to... please explain where your nickname came from in your next post. This could be fun. Mine (Lisa of Nine) is from Trek because I loved 7 of 9 and there were so many other Lisas that I didn't want to be lisa683495.

Thanks again for the replies, Molly.

"Will, honey, you need to sit down." Tara moved behind Willow and rubbed her back. "Come on, you can sit with me on the patio."

"And watch you cook the kosher pork ribs?" Willow asked with a grin.

"Yeah," Tara said with a smile.

That part made me LMAO. I just love that Tara is teaching Bri about her Jewish heritage. That is just great. I can't wait for more. This is just fantastic :clap

Oh can I please slap her...PLEASE!!! I have never been so angry when reading a chapter and they really have ticked me off. And I was having a good day after my horse managed 3 trotting poles for the first time ever :)

It's a testament to your wonderful writing Lisa that Shelia Rosenberg can tick me off this much, please let something fall on her soon...preferably from a great height :grin

I hope they don't even do whatever it is they are planning, that's one way to get on Willow and all the guardians wrong side.

OMG!! I think I got just as many knots and even angrier than Willow!! That's horrible! How could her parents do that.....there is NO way they would win a case like that in most states today ( I hope..but I'm probably wrong, this world is pretty homophobic). All they will have to do is a blood test...then again, that might freak a bunch of people out even more...hmmmm. I hate Willow's parents!

They were right, I'm a homo--But I'm a Cheerleader

Damn! If W/T won't go to the Hellmouth...

You know what surprises me (but really shouldn't)? That this scares me more than any Big Bad I can think of. These monsters are the true evil in the world.

A very infuriating fic you got here, Lisa. Do continue. :)

I feel bad that I've never taken the time to comment on your stories until now. I've read and re-read all your Willow/Tara stories on your web page several times and I just love them!!!!

Milestones is becoming one of my favorites because I love stories of Willow and Tara as parents. I'm glad Willow's dad was starting to come around and liking Tara more. Now if only her mom could get hit in the head with something and lose her memory :) I can't believe Willow won't tell them that they made the babies with magic instead of letting them think that a man helped but I understand it's easier to explain.

I love how caring Tara is with Brianna and with Willow too. I think I started clapping when I read this part.

Quote:
""Well, I am still waiting for my tea," Ira said. "Willow offered and then forgot to bring it."

"I’ll run get that. I’m thirsty too" Tara backed away from the chair and glanced at Willow’s belly. "I don’t want Willow doing any work." Her eyes drifted back to Ira. "I’m perfectly capable of getting tea, and there’s no way I’d let my pregnant wife wait on me.""

Tara's polite yet she gets her point across. I hope to meet someone like her someday.

Thanks for such great stories!!! Can't wait for more!!!

Lisa, Love this story..I'm not worried cause you're doing the writing, now if it was ME, well.............and I don't think I could handle a story where Tara almost gets with someone else at this point.. Need more W/T goodness, especially with the new season gearing up. Oh and don't worry about then Neilsen people. The way it works is that TV and VCR are all writed together to a box in the closet.. When I turn on one or both, it registers down in Florida what I am watching. They don't care what you watch or why you watch or don't watch. All they care is that they can pick up the signal...their only job is to monitor it...

Ack! Lisa, Jesus Christ! With all the crazy shit going on at ME and the homophobic waves pouring off of the entire 6th season of Buffy, you have to go and write about it in your story?!?!!! My heart can't take it. Please tell me that this will all work out okay in the end, that Sheila and Ira will either fall into the hellmouth forever or do a 180 and embrace the goddess religion, and Tara. If you're SURE this will turn out okay, I will keep reading. Otherwise, I just don't know if I can do it. It isn't your writing, because as always you are right on-spot. It's just...it's just...ack! *Italiangirl throws her arms up in exhasperation.*

I guess I should take comfort in the fact that the guardians will do ANYTHING to keep W/T's family together, safe, and happy. The Rosenberg's might need a little Brigit style ass-kicking. Maybe. I'll wait and reserve judgement.

(You could have at least put an extreme-homophobe warning up or something!)

Chapter 5

Postby LostSoul » Thu Aug 29, 2002 9:51 pm

Lisa,

I'm still loving it. It's great. :clap

I especially loved the way Willow stood up to her mother when she interrupted the naked mommies weekend. LOL.

I'm thinking that chat that Bri had with Brent about mistletoe may be important down the road.

The pressure is building. Will Willow tell her parents the truth about the conceptions of her children with Tara? I can't wait to find out.

Excellent stuff.
