Chapter 8: Saturday, 8 pm, Water street Music Hall, Maroon 5:
Tara stood with Buffy in line outside the Water Street Music Hall, they were fairly good in way of the front of the line.
“I wonder if Willow’s here yet. What do you think Buffy?” Tara was anxious to see if she could find her read-head.
“Tara! Cut it out! You haven’t shut up about Willow since we left and hour ago!” Buffy yelled, Tara was getting really annoying.
“I’m sorry Buffy, I’ll stop now. Ooo, look gum!” Tara pointed to a piece of old gum stuck to the wall of the building.
“Yeah! Hey, I wonder how long it’s been there,” Buffy looked at it also. It was sad sometimes. How stupid her and Tara could get.
“We’re easily amused,” Tara giggled.
“Yeah, should we poke it?” Buffy picked a stick up off the sidewalk.
“Oh yeah! Is it alive?” Tara worried herself sometimes. Buffy was an odd friend, but without her the blonde would be friendless. Tara just couldn’t do that. Besides, they always had fun. Whether it was Buffy eating a pinecone, or imitating a seagull at the local theme park. There was never a dull moment around the girl Tara had to agree.
Buffy didn’t get the chance to poke the piece of gum, however, as the line started to move.
“Oh well, we can always find a good old piece of gum to poke back home.” Buffy pouted dropping the stick and moving forward.
They entered the hall and were awed at the size of it.
“This things frickin small! How do they expect people to fit in here?!” Buffy yelled.
It was true, for the amount of people in line, the hall itself was very small. Sure it looked big on the outside but…never judge a book by it’s cover, isn’t that what they tell you?
The stage in front of them was covered in an assortment of different instruments and cords. No one was there yet though. Every once and again, a person would show up and check something.
“This is real exciting,” Buffy pointed out.
“Hmm? What? Oh, yeah,” Tara had been spending this time looking for Willow, whom she couldn’t find.
“Tare? Are you looking for Willow?” Buffy guessed.
“Yeah, you seen her?” Tara said still looking around.
“No, I don’t know what she looks like, you’ve never shown her to me.” Buffy answered in an annoyed tone, she didn’t really want to look for Willow. Even though she knew full well who she was. But that was all Tara seemed to care about lately and it was getting annoying.
Buffy looked at Tara who had her back to her. All of a sudden a voice rang through the hall. Tara turned and looked at the stage. Someone had finally stepped up to the mic. Buffy sighed, she had been about to scare Tara but that guy had to walk onto the stage. Sure they’d waited long enough but he just had to have that timing didn’t he?
“Ok, we’re going to get the show started.” He said looking around the audience.
It was at this time that Tara zoned out. She was almost positive that she wasn’t missing to much important stuff. She just couldn’t keep her mind away from the thought of Willow. It was like an involuntary action now. Her mind would just randomly flick to the redhead at any given moment, it was like she had developed ADD or something.
~Tara never found Willow there at the concert. The music was good and all. But it would have been better with Willow there. Not that Buffy wasn’t fun. She was a blast to hang out with. But it seemed that she didn’t see Willow enough. Defiantly not as much as she would like. ~

7:06 Sunday, the day after the concert,
Tara sat up in her room, once more with the phone in her hands. She was going to attempt to get a hold of Willow…again. And, like last time, her palms were sweaty and her heart was pounding. This somewhat bothered her,
Tara dialed Willow’s number and waited (nervously) for an answer.
This time someone picked up.
“Hello?” a voice said on the other line, probably Willow’s Mother. Tara thought after hearing Willow’s mother speak. Her mother too had the slight British accent that Willow herself had also.
“Um… is Willow there?” Tara asked.
“Yeah just a sec.” Tara could hear a muffled “Willow! Phone!” on the other end. Her family seemed nice. The voice followed what Tara thought sounded like feet racing down stairs, but she wasn’t sure. She didn’t have a whole lot of time to think about it ‘cause Willow was there in a heartbeat. (Which was pretty fast considering how fast Tara’s was beating.)
“Hello?” Came the familiar voice of Willow.
“Hey its Tara,”
“Oh! Hey Tara how are you? You know I never saw you at the concert last night. Where were you?” Willow asked. She seemed very perky tonight.
“Oh um… that’s what I was calling to ask you. N-not that I don’t call just with questions. S-sometimes I call to talk about other things too.” Tara said with a sarcastic tone to her voice.
Willow laughed softly into the phone. Tara thought.
“I was sort of in the middle, on the right side, uh… that’s the right side if you were facing the stage.” Tara said trying to remember where she and Buffy had been standing the other night.
“Oh my God! Me too! I must have been right behind you. I was looking for you the whole night but I couldn’t find you. And you were right in front of me.” Willow sighed. “Who would’ve known?”
“I don’t know? Only we could do something like that,” Tara said sarcastically, hoping Willow would get her joke.
“Yeah, oh hey I got to go eat dinner, I’m sorry, we’ll talk again sometime. Tomorrow maybe, I’m sure we have some class together.” Willow sighed.
“Ok then, bye.” Tara said with some disappointment in her voice.
“M-bye” *Click*
Tara sadly pressed the off button on her phone. She hated it when Willow left her, it gave her a feeling of emptiness inside. She had no idea why her body reacted like this towards Willow, but it was something different.
