GREAT FIC!!! Yeah, sorry for not keeping up. Work is amazingly kicking my butt, heehee. Anyway, I like where you are taking us with this. Even though, the whole Tara's dad hitting her gets me pretty steamed, I like the different situations that you have going here. All in all, I like it!!! Keep them updates comin'. Hope to see more soon. =)

Chapter 6

Postby faithy » Wed Jan 21, 2004 3:01 pm

bluewillowwitch- Would you tell anyone if your dad did things like that to you? i wouldn't.

sam darls- things might get solved a little better for you here.

TaraBaby77- You don't have to apologize its not your fault. Just keep reading when you can.

Chapter 6: In Chorus

All through chorus Tara couldn’t take her eyes off Willow. Something was up with her and she wasn’t letting on what it was. Tara had left a note in the bottom of her locker and Willow had taken it but she wasn’t sure that it had helped any.

“It’s not polite to stare”, Brooke whispered to her.

Tara jumped, “What? Oh…wait what?” She’d been so saturated in looking at Willow she’d forgotten that Brooke was there.

“You were staring at that girl in front of us. Hey! Isn’t she that girl from the dance? Have you talked to her yet?” Brooke was trying so hard not to babble too much.

“Yeah, her names Willow, and last night I spent like an hour looking over all these maps of the county and she lives not to far from me.” Tara really had spent a good amount of time trying to find where Torry road was and where exactly Willow lived.

“Oh, so you know a lot about this girl? I mean you’ve done research and every thing?” Brooke was trying so very hard to keep her voice down. She seemed to have a problem doing that.

“No! I didn’t do research I’ve talked to her though. But I have to say I don’t know much for the amount of time we’ve talked.” Tara just couldn’t keep her eyes off the redhead.

“I see, so you two have talked a lot?” Brooke wondered.

“No, not really. She’s like super-smart though.” Tara still felt guilty, like she wasn’t worthy to be in such superior presence.

“Oh really, so she’s like a Smarty Pants Person? Is she one of those people who think they’re so perfect just because they’re smarter than the people their own age and most of the people the next grade up? Like a know it all?” Brooke felt she had exaggerated there.

“No not really, she’s fun to hang around though.” All Tara knew right now was that she felt something different around this girl, but she still had no clue what it was.

*******************

2 periods later

*******************

Tara unfolded the note she found in the bottom of her locker. Obviously left by Willow.

Tara,

I have to admit, I am sort of one of those Smarty-Pants-People, (I was listening to you in chorus). But I try not to be, or not let anyone know. In other words, I pretend to be really stupid.

Ok, I have a question for you. Are you my angel? Because I think you are. I don’t know if you know, but lately I have been having problems with myself, and with friends. Last weekend I was dumped by the greatest guy in the world, and even though we’re still friends it’s just not the same. You know what I mean? Most of my “so called” 9th grade friends ditched me because they couldn’t handle the fact that I was hanging out with sophomores too. I also have an abusive ex-boyfriend, but don’t tell anyone ok? But then you came along and I know this sounds corny but you gave me every reason to be happy. And I don’t know about you but when I first met you at that dance, I had these feelings that you would always be there to help. And that you were a really great friend. And since I met you all these good things started happening, and my life has gone from totally sucking to being great. So I really don’t care what you think but I think that you are my angel, and I love you for that! I know that not many people are blessed with an angel in there life and I am so fortunate to be. You always know what to say. And I’m sorry I ignored you today on chorus. But something happened earlier today. I have to go now. I love you.

Willow

Tara was in tears. No one had ever said anything like that to her before. No one had ever thought that she was actually that special. Special enough to be an angel. But this wasn’t just anybody, this was Willow who thought this. Tara had no idea she could make anyone feel this way about her. And right now, she didn’t care who saw her cry, nothing could ruin this moment. (Or so she thought).

*****************

That night at Tara’s house.

*****************

“TARA!!!!” Her dad yelled from down stairs.

Tara thought. She had been rereading Willow’s note over and over in her room. Somehow every time she read it, it never ceased to amaze her that someone as special as Willow could think that about her.

“Tara! Why won’t the TV change channels?!” He yelled when she was downstairs.

“Um… is the VCR off? That tends to happen when the VCR is still on.” She knew she hadn’t given enough information by the look an her father’s face.

“And is it still on Tara?” Her father got out in a mock calm voice.

“Y-yes” Tara was waiting for the explosion, any second now he would blow his top.

“Well, God Damn it Tara! How do you shut it off?!” And there he went. She’d done it now. He was mad and there was no telling what he’d do to her.

“Y-you p-press this b-button right h-here.” She grabbed the remote off the table and pressed the button that read “VCR power”.

“Next time, will you just give me the answer to the problem so we can get this done a little faster?! You fucking whore! Git the hell out of here I don’t want to see you down here again!” He sat down and stared at the TV as if she wasn’t there anymore.

He hadn’t always treated her like this, he used to be a normal father just like everyone else’s dad. But as soon as she turned 13, that all changed. Now he was like a mad man out to get her. Some times her mother would come up and talk and comfort her when she fled to her room to escape crying in front of him. Her mother was like her best friend. She understood Tara, her passion to express herself through music. Tara loved to find a Cd that described how she felt, and just listen to it for a while. She particularly enjoyed making mix Cd’s for other people that described how she felt. Even though they never got the message that was there. She also liked to play the songs that described her most on the piano. Her mother had let her start taking lessons when she was in about 3rd grade. No matter how much Tara loved her mother and found comfort there, she still felt partly empty. She couldn’t tell her mother everything that went on in her head or at school, and Tara longed for someone that could fill that. That would understand her no matter what. That would always be there though everything. Some how, Tara felt that that person could be and should be Willow. It just felt right.

Tempest Duer- Well, if Tara wasn't that wouldn't make for a very good fic. now would that?

sam darls- Did you know that letter is actually one a friend sent me when i was in middle school. She's one of those friends that you don't want to stay just a friend for to much longer. Enough about me and my stupid life. Anyway, Tara's dad is pretty harsh on her isn't he?

singgirl- I must say, when i started this fic. i didn't imagine that anyone would like it that much that they would ask for an update.

bluewillowwitch- Don't worry everything that needs to will happen in time.

TaraBaby77- As much as I would love to update. Saddly i broke my finger so typing has been slow with only 9 fingers left to work with. I seriously never thought my fic. was as good as for people to actually want an update. Keep reading.

Hey this is a great fic...can't wait for more!

I just have 3 questions, and feel free to ignore me if u think I'm prying...

You sed this is based on a true story...is it ures? And if it is, which one of the 2 are u?

Third Q... is this gonna be a sad fic???...coz if it is I'm gonna cryyyyyy......will still read it and love it just as much, but I know I'll cryyyyy.....

TaraBaby77- My fingers feeling better now so an update will be coming very soon. Most likely a little after this.

mxgirl314- Don't you worry updates a-comin.

younglove15- muah to you too.

Sheba- I'm glad someone read my notes. And don't worry about prying, I wouldn'tve said that it was based on a true story of I cared if anyone asked about it. Actually, I started this cuz I needed to clear my conscience of all this crap. For your first question I would have to say yes, this is about my sad life, and Tara is suppose to represent me, I probably shouldn't say to much on acount of the person who is Willow in this reads this too. She's not suppose to though, it wasn't meant for her, *cough cough younglove15*, but she had some help. Third question, it'll get sad in the middle but in the end everything comes out right. I think....see things still haven't come out right, and this story is based on what happened like a few years ago so this story is still going on and its pretty sad that I'm just starting to get this all figured out so it might be sad for a while. But even if it all ends bad in this world I'm not aloud to have it end bad here. But (not like you probably care) I'm not letting anything bad happen that will ruin the story. One last thing, I think it's funny, the girl who Willow is based on, actually looks a lot like Willow herself. Update will come soon.

Tempest Duer- Glad you care. Update will come soon (very).

Fingers feeling better so UPDATES to all who read this.(very soon)

Chapter 7:

Postby faithy » Fri Jan 30, 2004 9:36 pm

Tempest Duer- No more waiting! Yay for you!

Chapter 7: After School at soccer practice

Tara’s mind had been clouded all day, thoughts off Willow just wouldn’t leave her head. As hard as she’d tried to pay attention in class she just couldn’t, her day dreams kept taking over and making her think of the red-head, not that she minded. Now here she was, in soccer practice, the one place it mattered most to pay attention and she couldn’t, she found it physically and mentally impossible.

They were scrimmaging and the ball was somewhere on the field. Last Tara could remember was that it was down at the opposite end of the field but now it had disappeared from her line of view. Somewhere in the outside world someone was calling her name, Tara could hear them, but wasn’t down to earth enough to know what they were saying. All of a sudden Tara felt a quick whack on the back of her head and she was knock violently out of her fantasy.

Her coach came storming over, “Tara! What was that?! You need to move, go to the ball! You’re not a lazy player! I know you, what’s up? See this is what you get when you don’t pay attention! You get hit on the head with the ball that’s suppose to be in your control.” He turned to the rest of the team, which was spread out across the field, “ This is why we haven’t won! This is why you guys haven’t scored a goal in games! You play like you practice, and you people practice really crappy! Tara! 4 laps now!” He gave her a shove off the field and she started her fist way around the perimeter of the field. “Jessica! Get in here and play for Tara.” The coach yelled before blowing his whistle.

Four laps was nothing for Tara, with all the running coach Brooks made them do she easily sprinted the whole way. However practice was over early today on account of the coach needing to do something, and time was almost up so she sat down and had a drink. Her mistake today would cost her playing time in the next game, but she could deal.

The Junior Varsity practiced at the Elementary school which let out at 3:30, she would be able to make that bus.

________________________

Tara sat in the very back of bus 16. Little Elementary kids surrounded her with their freakishly high voices. It all reminded her of an episode of Alivin and the Chipmunks. She wasn’t the only one on that didn’t have the same thoughts though. A 8th grader named Ali, one of Tara’s better friends, to sat back there with her listening to all the little baby chipmunks squeaking about whatever chipmunks squeak about.

Ali slid over next to Tara, it’d been a while since they’d last talked. “Hey Tara, how’ve you been?” the young brunette said.

“Oh, I’ve been fine. Oh! I met a girl named Willow.” Tara bounced slightly in her seat.

“Willow Rosenberg?” Ali said a-matter-o-factly.

“H-how’d you know?” Tara didn’t get how Ali could know her before she did.

“Her sister Sarah…she’s my best friend. So I know Willow.”

At hearing this, Tara was a little disappointed. Ali always seemed to know who someone was or what was going on before she did.

“Well, um…what’s up with you lately?” She changed the subject.

“Nothing much, Ian just got a girl friend! He’s never had a girl friend before. So I’m proud of him.” Ian was Ali’s older brother. Tara knew him because they lived down the road from her, so he obviously rode the same bus. Him and Tara had become good friends.

“Oh! Who is she?” Tara wasn’t really curious but she was going to ask anyway, just to make conversation.

“Erica,” Ali was really excited about this, for some reason.

“Oh ok, I see,” Tara turned her gaze out the window, it figured their conversation would end up like this. That’s the way Ali was, she tuned Ali out and the rest of the chipmunks and spent the whole rest of the ride looking out the window thinking of her red haired angel.

____________________

~8:30 that night~

Tara sat in her room, phone in her hands, and for some reason they were shaking. Tara didn’t understand it, she had grabbed the phone headed upstairs and into her room. Up until then she was fine but as soon she thought of calling Willow her heart skipped a beat and now it was beating right out of her chest. She didn’t know why, this sort of thing never bothered her before. But none the less, it shouldn’t be something to worry about, it was just a phone call. Besides she was bored.

Tara thought trying to remember the girl’s phone number, <344-…um what was it, 344-0509. Yeah that’s it! Go me, I’m good!>

Tara dialed the number and waited for someone to pick up.

Ring…ring…ring…ring…Hello you’ve reached 344-0509 this is the home of the rosenb…

Tara hung up, she didn’t want to leave a message, she didn’t like messages, they bugged her. Tara sighed. There hadn’t been any out breaks tonight, she must be lucky. With that in mind Tara pressed the off button on the phone and headed down stairs to hang it up.

:love Liz -Sorry this one didn't have Willow much either.

Sorry every one. If this is boring you haveing all this Tara time and almost no Willow. There should be more Willow soon. And sorry for the late update. Life's been a bitch lately, everythings been so confusing. Well here is the long awaited update.

Chapter 8: Saturday, 8 pm, Water street Music Hall, Maroon 5:

Tara stood with Buffy in line outside the Water Street Music Hall, they were fairly good in way of the front of the line.

“I wonder if Willow’s here yet. What do you think Buffy?” Tara was anxious to see if she could find her read-head.

“Tara! Cut it out! You haven’t shut up about Willow since we left and hour ago!” Buffy yelled, Tara was getting really annoying.

“I’m sorry Buffy, I’ll stop now. Ooo, look gum!” Tara pointed to a piece of old gum stuck to the wall of the building.

“Yeah! Hey, I wonder how long it’s been there,” Buffy looked at it also. It was sad sometimes. How stupid her and Tara could get.

“We’re easily amused,” Tara giggled.

“Yeah, should we poke it?” Buffy picked a stick up off the sidewalk.

“Oh yeah! Is it alive?” Tara worried herself sometimes. Buffy was an odd friend, but without her the blonde would be friendless. Tara just couldn’t do that. Besides, they always had fun. Whether it was Buffy eating a pinecone, or imitating a seagull at the local theme park. There was never a dull moment around the girl Tara had to agree.

Buffy didn’t get the chance to poke the piece of gum, however, as the line started to move.

“Oh well, we can always find a good old piece of gum to poke back home.” Buffy pouted dropping the stick and moving forward.

They entered the hall and were awed at the size of it.

“This things frickin small! How do they expect people to fit in here?!” Buffy yelled.

It was true, for the amount of people in line, the hall itself was very small. Sure it looked big on the outside but…never judge a book by it’s cover, isn’t that what they tell you?

The stage in front of them was covered in an assortment of different instruments and cords. No one was there yet though. Every once and again, a person would show up and check something.

“This is real exciting,” Buffy pointed out.

“Hmm? What? Oh, yeah,” Tara had been spending this time looking for Willow, whom she couldn’t find.

“Tare? Are you looking for Willow?” Buffy guessed.

“Yeah, you seen her?” Tara said still looking around.

“No, I don’t know what she looks like, you’ve never shown her to me.” Buffy answered in an annoyed tone, she didn’t really want to look for Willow. Even though she knew full well who she was. But that was all Tara seemed to care about lately and it was getting annoying.

Buffy looked at Tara who had her back to her. All of a sudden a voice rang through the hall. Tara turned and looked at the stage. Someone had finally stepped up to the mic. Buffy sighed, she had been about to scare Tara but that guy had to walk onto the stage. Sure they’d waited long enough but he just had to have that timing didn’t he?

“Ok, we’re going to get the show started.” He said looking around the audience.

It was at this time that Tara zoned out. She was almost positive that she wasn’t missing to much important stuff. She just couldn’t keep her mind away from the thought of Willow. It was like an involuntary action now. Her mind would just randomly flick to the redhead at any given moment, it was like she had developed ADD or something.

~Tara never found Willow there at the concert. The music was good and all. But it would have been better with Willow there. Not that Buffy wasn’t fun. She was a blast to hang out with. But it seemed that she didn’t see Willow enough. Defiantly not as much as she would like. ~

_______________________

7:06 Sunday, the day after the concert,

Tara sat up in her room, once more with the phone in her hands. She was going to attempt to get a hold of Willow…again. And, like last time, her palms were sweaty and her heart was pounding. This somewhat bothered her, Tara dialed Willow’s number and waited (nervously) for an answer.

This time someone picked up.

“Hello?” a voice said on the other line, probably Willow’s Mother. Tara thought after hearing Willow’s mother speak. Her mother too had the slight British accent that Willow herself had also.

“Um… is Willow there?” Tara asked.

“Yeah just a sec.” Tara could hear a muffled “Willow! Phone!” on the other end. Her family seemed nice. The voice followed what Tara thought sounded like feet racing down stairs, but she wasn’t sure. She didn’t have a whole lot of time to think about it ‘cause Willow was there in a heartbeat. (Which was pretty fast considering how fast Tara’s was beating.)

“Hello?” Came the familiar voice of Willow.

“Hey its Tara,”

“Oh! Hey Tara how are you? You know I never saw you at the concert last night. Where were you?” Willow asked. She seemed very perky tonight.

“Oh um… that’s what I was calling to ask you. N-not that I don’t call just with questions. S-sometimes I call to talk about other things too.” Tara said with a sarcastic tone to her voice.

Willow laughed softly into the phone. Tara thought.

“I was sort of in the middle, on the right side, uh… that’s the right side if you were facing the stage.” Tara said trying to remember where she and Buffy had been standing the other night.

“Oh my God! Me too! I must have been right behind you. I was looking for you the whole night but I couldn’t find you. And you were right in front of me.” Willow sighed. “Who would’ve known?”

“I don’t know? Only we could do something like that,” Tara said sarcastically, hoping Willow would get her joke.

“Yeah, oh hey I got to go eat dinner, I’m sorry, we’ll talk again sometime. Tomorrow maybe, I’m sure we have some class together.” Willow sighed.

“Ok then, bye.” Tara said with some disappointment in her voice.

“M-bye” *Click*

Tara sadly pressed the off button on her phone. She hated it when Willow left her, it gave her a feeling of emptiness inside. She had no idea why her body reacted like this towards Willow, but it was something different.
