Awesome Update! :clap :D :grin

Poor girls, what a place to make their training.

I'm curious what kind of power Buffy is going to get.

And i liked this one:
Quote:
Willow quickly hid herself behind her girlfriend, who just giggled at Willow’s ever growing fear of frogs, or “The little green Martians from the icky planet of people eaters”. That’s what the redhead called them.

I just caught up on the last few updates and wow :shock they're The Called and they have super powers to fight werewolves? cool :grin i don't think i'd like to have Will's powers cuz i saw "American Werewolf in London" and it looked quite painful, plus being all furry with the long snout ain't so appealing either :p can't wait for the next bit :D

Loved it Jen, Pitch sticking up for himself was funny, loved Willow asking what died in the training place and Wesley saying it used to be a slaghter house :lol I loved how affectionate and right for each other Willow and Tara were at the end, and like everyone else, i'm curious to find out Buffy's power.

Cheers

Miss Quirky - Glad you liked the part with the frog:D Buffy's power will be revealed soon. Not a lot of waiting left.

Grimmy - Yup. The powers are going to get more and more in the way in the upcoming weeks, but (just like all my fics) things will work out in the end;)

Snuggle - You liked the part with the frog too, eh? :D Glad you liked it.

Michelle - Wow? :blush Glad you enjoyed the updates. No, being all hairy and long snouty can't be much fun:p

Z - Yeah, i kinda noticed myself drifting away from Willow and Tara, and what with what's happened lately, i wanted to get a point across: They're solemates. :) So, lots more cuteness (hopefully) so come.

Thanks for reading. I'm gonna get back to writing an update for y'all now. While listen to my Avril Lavigne CD :grin

It's been a hell of a week. RL problems just seem to keep coming.... but, despite it all, i managed to get an update finished. And it's pretty much Willow/Tara centred;) Hopefully i'm going to be able to get back on track with my fics and update more regularly. :) Anyway, on with the show. Hope you like.

Part Sixteen

Professor Geller dismissed the class and Willow began to gather her books. It was only the second week of college and already she had a pile of work as high as the roof. She didn’t mind though. Willow was enjoying it, although she’d never admit to it. A big tough girl enjoying school and all the work she was getting. Making sure she had all her books, Willow stood and began walking out of the classroom. It had been a tough week, what with school, fixing up the training house and talking over here powers with Wesley. She let out a sigh.

I miss Tara. I hardly see her anymore…. I’m not used to this lack of Tara time. All this time away can’t be healthy.

As she walked of the classroom, she felt an arm wrap around her waist and was pulled to one side, away from the bustling crowd. Shocked, Willow tried to turn around to see who it was, but the arm around her middle was holding her tightly, stopping her from doing so. She heard the person behind her giggle and instantly knew who it was. Smiling, the redhead wrapped her arms around the ones around her waist.

Willow: You know, you shouldn’t do that to someone. I could have lashed out or something.

Tara: I thought it was a risk worth taking.

Tara grinned and finally let Willow turn around to face her, keeping her arms loosely around the redhead’s middle.

Willow: Well, I’m glad you took it.

Willow leaned forward and their lips met in a soft kiss. When they pulled back, Tara’s grin widened.

Tara: Me too.

Willow: So, what brings you this side of the college, don’t you have psych class next?

Tara: Yeah, but I couldn’t help thinking that I’d rather be somewhere else. Say, in the arms of a beautiful redhead.

Willow: Oh, well, if you want, I could help you find one.

Tara chuckled.

Tara: No, no. I’ve found the redhead I want.

Willow: Where is she? I’ll kill her.

Tara: Right in front of me.

Willow turned her head to look behind her and grinned.

Willow: I don’t see her.

Tara: Try looking in a mirror.

The kissed again, this one a little longer than the last.

Buffy: Well, well. If it isn’t two of my three favourite girls.

Both girls turned to find Buffy walking towards them.

Buffy: Making out in the corridor? Isn’t that what the janitor’s closet is for?

Buffy smirked and leaned against the wall next to her two friends.

Buffy: How are you coping with the classes?

Willow: Oh, you know. I have homework piled on my desk at home and Professor Geller is driving me crazy, the usual.

Buffy: Ah, homework, fun. So, when’s your last class?

Willow: Three o’clock, why?

Buffy: Well, I was thinking we could head out to Riley’s Place. You know, if you’re not too busy.

Tara: Sounds like fun.

Willow: What about Wesley?

Buffy: Somehow I don’t think he’s into the club life.

Willow chuckled.

Willow: No, I meant aren’t we supposed to be training with him tonight.

Buffy: He won’t mind us having one night off. Come on, it’ll be fun.

Tara: Well, I’m in. Will?

Willow: Okay. What time?

Buffy: Be at Faith’s for eight?

Willow: Okay, see you then.

Buffy: Bye.

Buffy walked down the corridor to her next class, leaving Willow and Tara alone again.

Willow: I guess I’d better get to class.

Tara: Yeah, me too.

Neither of them moved.

Willow: Which would involve walking away.

Tara: Uh huh.

Still no movement. Willow giggled and gave Tara a goodbye kiss.

Willow: I’m gonna go.

Tara: I’ll see you later?

Willow: Mmhmm.

Willow leaned in for a second kiss, but this time didn’t pull away. Instead, she moved her arms up around Tara’s neck and deepened the kiss. The blonde’s grip on her waist tightened and she pulled Willow closer. Tara sighed into the kiss and it continued, becoming more intense. Sounds of people shuffling past them in the hallway brought them back to earth.

Willow: Okay, this time I’m really going to go.

She tried to walk away, but Tara gripped her hand and pulled her back. The redhead giggled again and looked at her girlfriend.

Tara: You don’t really want to go, do you?

Willow: Of course I don’t. I want to stay with you…. But, classes-

She was cut off by the blonde who kissed her again and began walking down the corridor, towards the doors at the front of the college, dragging Willow with her.

Willow: Where are we going?

Tara just smiled.

Tara: You’ll see.

Intrigued, Willow followed her.

Sunnydale Park

They had been walking for a little over half an hour now and Willow was becoming more and more anxious by the second. She kept asking Tara to tell her where she was taking her, but all she got in response was “You’ll see” or a chuckle. As they crossed the bridge over the lake, Willow came to a stop, making Tara stop as well. The blonde turned around to face her.

Tara: Will?

Willow: Why won’t you tell me where we’re going?

Tara: Because I want it to be a surprise.

The redhead hesitated.

Willow: A good surprise?

Tara: I hope so.

Tara tugged on her girlfriend’s hand and they began walking again. It was a beautiful day in Sunnydale. The birds were singing, the sun was shinning and it wasn’t too hot or too cold. Just right. As Willow continued to follow her girlfriend, she noticed that they were walking towards the wood that was towards the end of the park, then spread out around it.

Willow: Tara….

Tara: Shush.

She stayed quiet. Tara led them through an opening in the trees at the front of the wood and then along a path that had been worn down by people who had used this way before them. Willow looked around at their surroundings. She’d been in the wood before, but it looked different somehow. The sunlight peaked in through the gaps of the trees around and above them, highlighting the beautiful flowers that were lined along the pathway and over the floor of the wood. She could vaguely hear the sound of the animals in the wood as they scurried around, looking for somewhere to hide so they wouldn’t be spotted. She caught sight of a squirrel making its way up the side of a tree they passed and smiled. She had never seen this side of the wood. Willow had never actually taken the time to look around and notice the beauty of it. It was breathtaking. Much like the blonde who was still leading her along the path.

Willow listened intently to the sounds around her. It was so peaceful. All she could hear now was the sound of her and her girlfriend’s feet and….

Water?

…. The sound of a river. The water flowing calmly through the wood.

I never noticed a river going through here before…. Then again, I’ve never really stopped to look.

She could hear it more clearly now. They were getting closer. Suddenly, Tara stopped, causing Willow to bump into her. They both giggled and the blonde turned around.

Tara: Okay, close your eyes.

Willow: What? Why?

Tara grinned and moved to stand behind her girlfriend. She brought her hands up around Willow and covered the other girl’s eyes with them.

Willow: Tara, I can’t see.

Tara That’s the point.

Willow: But-but I’ll trip or something. This is me, clumsy old, butter fingers.

The blonde giggled.

Tara: I’m not going to let you trip. Now, come on. Help me out. Move your legs. I’ll guide you.

Slowly, they began to move forward together. It was a little awkward at first, but they managed to their movements in sync with each other’s. Or so they thought. As Tara tried to turn the both, Willow tripped over a tree root that was sticking out of the ground and nearly sent them both tumbling to the floor. If it hadn’t been for the strong arm holding her around her middle, she would have. Willow could hear her girlfriend giggling behind her and couldn’t help giggling herself.

Willow: See? I told you I….

The redhead trailed off as she lifted her head and looked around. She was speechless. Tara had led her too what she was sure had to be the most beautiful part of the wood. They were in a sort of clearing, a line of trees behind them and a little way in front. The river she had heard ran through the middle and the prettiest of flowers could be seen on either side. The branches of the trees stretched far out, meeting over the middle of the river, providing a canopy that the sun was only able to peak through. The final touch, was one that had Willow’s face almost glowing with a smile. In the middle of the clearing, a picnic had been set out. A chequered blanket covered the ground, a picnic blanket placed in the middle and a bucket of ice set to the side that held a bottle of what she guessed was champagne, with a single red rose next to it.

Willow spun around to face her girlfriend.

Willow: Tara, this…. This is amazing.

She glanced at the clearing and then back at Tara, who had started smiling.

Willow: You did this for me?

Tara: Who else would I do it for?

Willow: It’s amazing….

She turned back to look at the scene in front of her. Breathtaking was an understatement.

Tara: You like it then?

Willow: Like it? Tara, I love it.

She leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the blonde’s lips. Willow pulled back after a moment and smiled.

Willow: And, I love you.

Tara’s trademark crooked grin appeared, making Willow’s smile widen.

Tara: Shall we?

The blonde held out her arm and Willow slipped her arm through Tara’s, giggling.

Willow: We shall.

They both sat down on the blanket, either side of the picnic basket, and Tara began taking out the food and setting it on the plate.

Willow: You had this planned all along, didn’t you?

Tara smiled and lifted her gaze to meet Willow’s, without lifting her head, before turning her attention back to the picnic basket.

Willow: You did! You waited for me to come out of class, knowing I wouldn’t be able to resist your charms and Taraness. Knowing that your kisses would win me over and that you and only you is the one thing that can make me skip classes. This was you’re plan, wasn’t it? Act all shy and innocent, sweep me off my feet and corrupt my poor little mind into skipping classes.

Tara chuckled and held her hands up.

Tara: Okay, you got me. It’s true. That was my plan. I was sent to corrupt your mind and nothing more.

The blonde smiled.

Tara: I messed up though.

Willow: Oh?

Tara: Yeah. See, the girl whose mind I was sent here to corrupt….

She let her hands fall to her lap and kept her eyes on Willow.

Tara: I fell for her.

Willow couldn’t help smiling. Leaning over, she captured her girlfriend’s lips in a kiss that soon grew more passionate. The basket of food Tara was so careful to prepare, was momentarily forgotten.

Part 17

Postby Ginner WTluv » Sun Oct 27, 2002 5:00 pm

Hey, hey all. I finally managed to get an update together, but it isn't very long. RL isn't being to kind to me lately.... but hopefully the problems i'm having will be over soon and i can get back to writing this properly. I've still got a lot i want to do with it and am kinda sad it's taking me this long. Hope you guys understand:)

------------------------------------------------------------

Part Seventeen

It was just after seven o’clock. Willow had left Tara an hour ago to come home and get ready to go out later that night. There was only one problem now. She had nothing to wear.

Why am I always like this when I’m going out anywhere with Tara? It’s silly. We’ve been dating for a year now…. But I still get nervous whenever I’m going out anywhere with her.

Willow shook her head and turned her attention back to her empty wardrobe.

Willow: What the….

She turned on the spot and looked over at the pile of clothes on her bed, frowning.

Willow: I guess I’ll just go naked then.

The redhead started to grin. Tara would defiantly not mind that, but they probably wouldn’t make it to Riley’s Place if she went in her birthday suit. A knock on her bedroom door roused her from her thoughts.

Willow: Come in.

The door opened and Sheila walked into the room.

Willow: Hi mom.

Shelia: Evening, sweetie. Are you going out?

Willow: Um, yeah. Tara, Buffy, Faith and me are heading out to Riley’s Place.

Shelia: Ah, I see. How is Tara?

Willow: She’s fine.

Shelia: That’s good.

The room fell silent for a moment. Both women looked around, their eyes falling on anything that wasn’t each other because they felt awkward. The way a mother and daughter shouldn’t feel in each other’s presence, but because Willow’s parents had never really been around that much, their conversations usually ended up like this. It was a shame really.

Shelia: You know, I meant what I said before. Your father and I would love it if you invited Tara around one night.

Willow smiled at her mother.

Willow: I’ll ask her.

Shelia: Okay. Well, I’ll leave you to get ready.

As Shelia began to leave the room, Willow spoke up.

Willow: Mom?

Shelia: Yes?

Willow: Thanks.

Shelia: For what, sweetie?

Willow: For liking Tara…. For accepting her and me. You didn’t have to, but you did.

Shelia smiled.

Shelia: You’re my daughter.

And it was that simple.

Riley’s Place

Loud music filled the room, being pumped through the speakers at the side of the stage that was used by the live bands when they were going to perform. The club was packed. People were struggling for space on the dance floor, others had spent the last hour looking for somewhere to sit. The girls, however, were lucky enough to know the owner of the club, so seats for them were always guaranteed. They sat in the corner, next to the stage, across from the bar, watching as more and more people squeezed their way into the club.

Riley: Busy night.

None of them had noticed the owner of the bar approaching their table.

Faith: Sure is. Looks like you found your pot of gold.

They all looked at her.

Faith: What? Oz is the only person who can say things like that?

Riley: Speaking of the spiky haired cutie, where is he tonight?

Faith: Probably out with Xander talking about girls.

The brunette smirked at him. She knew the sandy haired boy had a thing for her friend, she could tell.

Riley: Falling for the straight ones. Story of my life.

He smiled at the girls.

Riley: So, how is everyone on this fine night?

They all voiced their feelings and he couldn’t help but smile again when each one of them said pretty much the same thing.

Buffy: We’re out with our girls. What could be better?

Riley: I could be hanging with your redheaded friend.

Willow raised an eyebrow.

Riley: Oz.

Faith: You know, if you want, I could ask him which way he swings. Although I’m pretty certain he doesn’t drive stick…. But I can ask.

Faith flashed Riley a smile and she could have swore he blushed.

Riley: No. It’s okay. I’ll wait in silence.

They shared a moment, smiling at each other. Faith had a lot to thank the man in front of her for. A little over a year ago, she’d stumbled into his club and drank herself silly, while pining over Buffy: The girl she thought she couldn’t have. Riley had come over and sat with her. He’d talked to her and somehow made hr see sense. If it hadn’t been for him, she would have never gone to Buffy’s that night. She would have never kissed her and maybe they never would have gotten together. She really did have a lot to thank him for.

Riley: Well, I think I’m going to have to get back behind the bar. You guys want anything give me a shout.

They all voiced their goodbyes and he left.

Willow: You know, he’s a pretty cool guy.

Faith smiled and reached for Buffy’s hand, entwining their fingers.

Faith: He is.

Sunnydale Park

He ran faster, but it wasn’t fast enough. Whatever it was that was chasing him was quicker than him and swifter than anything else he had ever come across. He could hear it growling as he exited the park, the thing close behind him.

Riley’s Place

The girls made their way to the door, deciding it was time to head back. Buffy, Willow and Tara had class in the morning and Faith was going out job hunting. The brunette noticed Riley standing behind the bar, watching them go and stopped.

Faith: You guys go. I’ll catch you up. I just want to talk to Riley.

The three girls nodded and left the club as Faith made her way back through the crowd.

Main Street

As the man tore down the main road, he felt his legs begin to grow weak.

No! I am not gonna get this, this thing get me

He picked up his pace best he could, but he just wasn’t fast enough.

Outside The Club

Faith left the club with a smile on her face. She’d talked to Riley and thanked him for everything he’d done for her. He, of course, had simply just smiled and replied, “Any time.”

He’s too modest. I wonder if he really realises everything he’s done for me….

Her thoughts were interrupted by cries coming from the alleyway behind Riley’s Place. On instinct, she took off, barrelling towards the alleyway. As she halted in front of the entrance, it took a moment for her eyes to get used to the darkness, but once she did, two figures became visible. Someone was lying on the floor alley, she guessed it was this person who had been crying out, and another person was hovering over him or her. The standing person lifted their arm as Faith watched and she noticed something glisten as the moonlight hit it.

A knife. Crap.

She broke into a run, speeding towards the figure in the alleyway. Before the person even noticed her, they were on the floor. It was a man. Faith turned her head slightly to look at the person on the floor. A woman. She turned back to the man.

Faith: What the hell is your problem?!

He threw her off him and she hit the wall at the side of the alleyway. Her eyes grew misty, the wind in the alleyway picked up, thunder sounded over head and she felt a burning begin to rise in the pit of her stomach. Her powers were kicking in.

No. I can’t….

She got to her feet as the man moved towards the woman on the floor and lunged at him again, this time pushing him further away, trying to banish the need to use her powers. His head slammed into the back of the pavement, but it didn’t keep him down for long. He lashed out, swinging his fist at her and she fell back as it connected with her jaw.

I can’t keep him down. Okay, new plan. I’ll let him keep me down, while the woman escapes.

And that’s what Faith did. She got to her feet and the man threw another punch. The brunette could have easily dodged it, but instead, she let him hit her. Punch after punch, her plan was working. The woman on the other side of the alleyway got to her feet as quietly as she could and began backing up. The man was too preoccupied with beating Faith senseless to even notice the woman getting up.

Not long now Faith…. Just hold out a little longer….

Another blow to her face and she heard a click, followed by a warm liquid begin to work its way down her face.

He broke my nose!

A gust of wind sped through the alleyway and Faith’s eyes began to turn misty once more. She was beginning to lose control. A heat began to rise, starting in her stomach and moving upwards, burning as it hit her arms. She felt strength begin to surge through her body and her eyes began to darken as the man hit her again. Faith closed her eyes and tried to concentrate on the feeling. Slowly, she could feel herself take control. Opening her eyes, she saw a fist coming towards her face and then another bolt of pain ripped through her.

Oh god….

She managed to open her eyes again and almost smiled. Looking past the man who had now moved onto her ribs, something caught her eye and she finally pushed him away. He fell to the floor. After a moment or too, he began to laugh and got up.

Man: Is the little girl starting to fight back? Aww ain’t that cute.

He punched her again, but she still didn’t react. To his confusion, Faith began to smile. To be honest, it unnerved him a bit.

Faith: Hey, you ever play roulette?

The man frowned, but then laughed again when he realised she was probably just stalling.

Man: Occasionally, why?

She leaned forward as if to whisper in his ear.

Faith: Here’s a tip for next time you play. Always bet on red.

He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around. Willow was standing behind him. She flashed him one of her cute, “I’m so innocent” smiles.

Willow: Hi.

Before he could respond, Willow drew her hand back and punched him with such force, he flew across the alleyway and hit the wall on the other side. The redhead turned back to look at Faith.

Willow: Now what the heck was that all about?

Faith: I’ll explain on the way home.

Hey again. Managed to find some time to check the kitten today (yay!:D ) and found some lovely feedback to cheer me up:)

LiangFeng - Don't worry, all will be explained in the next part and Buffy's power will also be revealed;)

Michelle - Aww, Michelle, thank you for your concern:) You, Faith can sure as hell take a punch when she needs to. She certainly ain't a weak one;) I thought you'd like Will taking care of that guy:D I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

Hmm.... well, seeing as how you all want to see vixen-y Tara, i can't very well go back on my word now, can i? ;) Vixen-y Tara it is then.:D

Well, RL seems to be improving, slightly, but improving none the less. I've actually had some time on my hands so i've been working on this fic today and hopefully the next part will be up earlier than the last.

Part 18

Postby Ginner WTluv » Thu Oct 31, 2002 9:06 am

I'm back, and i'm here with an update:) Vixen-y Tara isn't in this one, but don't worry, she'll be making an appearence soon. :grin So, on with the show.

------------------------------------------------------------

Part Eighteen

Buffy and Tara came into view as Faith and Willow turned the corner. Buffy’s face paled when she saw the state the brunette was in and half ran, half walked towards her.

Buffy: Faith? What happened?

Faith: Some guy was mugging a girl in the alleyway behind Riley’s Place and I stepped in to sort him out.

Willow: So, you weren’t just getting the crap kicked out of you back there?

Faith slapped her friend on the arm and scowled at her.

Faith: I let him beat on me so his attention would be on me instead of the woman and she could escape without being noticed.

Tara: Ah, a genuine hero.

Tara smiled at her.

Buffy: Faith, he could have really hurt you.

Buffy looked at her, concern shinning in her eyes. Faith took her hand and they started walking.

Faith: Naw, B. Slayer healing.

Buffy:What?

The blonde’s concern changed to confusion

Faith: Well, we kill werewolves and another word for kill is slay, and I thought “called hearing” sounds kinda stupid so, slayer hearing.

Buffy: Huh.

Tara: So, we’re like slayers?

Faith nodded.

Willow: Cool.

The redhead started to grin, her tongue poking out between her teeth, and began waving her hands about excitedly as she walked.

Willow: Oh! Oh! We-we could all get matching t-shirts that say “The Slayers” on them!

Tara giggled at her girlfriend and shook her head.

Faith: Don’t take this the wrong way, Will, but if you do get us all shirts with that printed on, I won’t be wearing one.

Willow: Aww, but-

Suddenly, Buffy cried out in pain and fell to the floor, grasping the side of her head. A limping Faith instantly fell to her knees beside her to see what was wrong.

Faith: Buffy? Buffy, what’s wrong?

All she got in reply was a muffled cry of anguish that panicked her even more.

Faith: Buffy!

Buffy began to mumble something quietly and Faith had to lean in further to hear her. The blonde’s voice was ragged and she could barely get her words out between breaths.

Buffy: Man…. He-he’s running…. W-w-w….

She cried out again, tears streaming down her face and Faith could do nothing but wrap her arms around her girlfriend and hold her. Out of the blue, Willow screamed, finished off what Buffy had tried to say.

Willow: Wolf!

Tara spun around and Faith turned her head to follow Willow’s gaze. A man ran down the street and almost collided with the three of them, but instead fell to the floor beside Buffy and Faith. Following him was the most hideous site any of them had ever seen. It was huge. If it stood up on it’s two back feet, it would have probably been about seven feet tall. Its body was covered in hair, from head to toe and the claws on its front paws were at least six inches long. It had a snout and a mouth full of the sharpest teeth, two of which were fangs that hung out over its bottom lip, saliva dripping off them in anticipation after finding the others in the alleyway. Its fur was a mix between white and grey, and looked almost black in parts. The fur was shaggy and longish, like a great big dog, only scarier and more fierce looking.

Its huge paws padded towards them and Willow was suddenly aware that she couldn’t move. Tara was standing next to her and the redhead subconsciously gripped her hand, entwining their fingers. Faith was still kneeling next to Buffy, who hadn’t moved and was still holding her head in pain. The man that had almost ran into them had started to back up away from the beast, the terror he was feeling clearing showing on his face.

Man: W-w-what is that?

None of the girls knew if he was asking any of them specifically, so Faith answered, casual as always.

Faith: A werewolf.

Man: But, werewolves aren’t real.

Faith: Okay, then you tell me what it is.

He shook his head, realising there was no other explanation, but still not believing what he was seeing. The werewolf walked closer, sniffing the air and then locked eyes with Tara who gasped when she saw the evil in its eyes. It growled and picked up its pace. Buffy had opened her eyes by this time and was staring at the creature standing less than twenty feet away from them. All she could manage to mumble was “oh my god”, before Faith got to her feet and picked her up, holding the blonde in her arms.

Buffy: What are you doing? We have to fight this thing.

Faith: I don’t know what the heck happened to you back there, but whatever it was, it took a lot out of you and you’re too weak to fight right now.

Buffy: But-

Faith: No but’s, Buffy! I am not letting you fight. You could get hurt.

Buffy fell silent, she wasn’t going to argue with Faith, not while there was a werewolf in front of them anyway. The wolf had started to make its way towards Tara and noticing this, Willow stood in front of her.

Tara: Will?

Willow: I’m not going to let it hurt you, which is obviously its intention.

Tara: I think it wants to hurt all of us, sweetie.

Willow: Its not coming near you.

Willow’s eyes sought out the beast’s and it looked at her, growling, displeased at her decision. Suddenly, something in her brain clicked and she frowned slightly.

Willow: Tara? Can you hear me?

Not seeing her girlfriend’s lips move, Tara wondered whether she had imagined what she had just heard, but she nodded anyway.

Willow: Okay, this is weird. I mean, I don’t know how I expected this to be, but this is just-

Tara: Willow, wolf.

Willow: Oh, right. Sorry. Hey! I can hear you. This is so cool.

Tara: Willow….

Willow: Okay, focus.

Something dawned on her.

Willow: Tara, I don’t know how to use my powers. Wesley’s only had chance to go over the basics with me….

Tara: It’s okay. I think I might be able to….

She trailed off, closing her eyes. Tara tightened her hold on Willow’s hand and concentrated on her feelings. Wesley’s voice echoed in the back of her mind.

Think of something that made your feelings soar…. Something that made them intense. So intense you couldn’t control them.

Thinking back, she remembered something and focused solely on that thought.

Tara: What…. What are you doing?

Willow: Kissing you.

Tara swallowed hard.

Tara: That’s what I thought.

Their lips met in a soft kiss, hardly a kiss at all. It was more of a test. When Tara didn’t pull away, Willow deepened the kiss, her hand moving to the back of the blonde’s neck. Tara’s grip on Willow’s hand tightened, before she released it and moved her hand to the redhead’s side, pulling her closer. Gently, Willow pushed Tara down onto her back, her head resting on the arm of the couch, not breaking the kiss. As their passion grew, the kiss became even more intense. Tara’s hand roamed over Willow’s back, while her other was tangled in her fire-red hair. Meanwhile, Willow had managed to rest her body on top of Tara’s and was using her hands and arms to keep herself from falling on top of the blonde completely. Unfortunately, her arms were in serious danger of giving way and the redhead broke the kiss, much to Tara disappointment. Willow pulled back to look at the other girl, short of breath. Time escaped them for the second time that night as they looked at each other, both reeling from the kiss. Heads began to spin and incoherentness began to set in. Willow shook her head and closed her eyes for a second. Opening them again, she refocused her attention on the blue eyes in front of her.

Willow: Are you sure you want this?

Tara: Would I be doing this if I didn’t?

Willow smiled.

Willow: You’re not stuttering….

Tara: I’m not nervous.>

The wolf growled, louder this time, as Tara reopened her eyes and met the wolf’s over Willow’s shoulder. It flew backwards and hit the side of a store, smashing the window and falling to the floor along with the shattered glass. Taking a deep and shaking breath, Tara released the thought and let her concentration fall, sweat glistening her forehead. Willow stood in awe, as did the man, Buffy and Faith.

Willow: That was amazing….

Faith: It’s getting back up.

Sure enough, the wolf picked itself up off the floor, shaking the bits of glass out of its matted fur and looked directly at Tara again. The beast didn’t intimidate the blonde, not this time. She knew how to use her powers and would, but she didn’t get the chance to. Faith spun around and saw a bench a few feet away. She ran towards it and carefully lay Buffy down onto it.

Faith: Stay here.

Buffy didn’t have time to object, Faith walked away, to where Tara and Willow were standing. She glanced down at the man who hadn’t moved from the ground.

Faith: You, run.

He stayed there for a moment and then did what she told him to. The man pushed himself up off the floor, took one last look at the girls and the beast and then ran. Faith looked at Willow and Tara. The redhead was still standing firmly in place in front of Tara, Faith doubted she could move her if she tried. So, instead, she moved to stand beside Tara.

Faith: Do you think you could keep him in place?

Tara: I can t-try.

Tara closed her eyes again and began focusing on her previous though. The wolf began walking towards them again and after a moment, Tara opened her eyes again and shook her head.

Tara: I can’t hold him. He-he’s too strong.

Willow: Okay.

The redhead nodded.

Willow: I can fix that.

She moved away from Tara and strode headed for the wolf.

Tara: Willow, don’t-!

Willow: No. I’m gonna use the only power that I can control.

Willow continued to walk, getting closer to the wolf that had picked up its pace considerably. Without warning, it lunged at her, teeth bearing, growling as it landed on her and pushed her to the pavement. She hit her head as she went down, but it didn’t faze her and with an almighty push, Willow threw the wolf off her. It snarled as it hit the hard pavement and shook itself before getting up again and charging at her. She backed up a little, before jumping forward, her feet leaving the floor and spinning her head over heels. Willow pressed her hands onto the wolf’s back, pushing herself over and landed on her feet, facing the back of the wolf’s body. Once it realised what she had done, the wolf stopped and slowly turned to look for Willow. Strangely calm, considering the situation, the redhead simply looked back, silently hoping he would come closer and not turn his attention to Tara and Faith who were standing not that far away from it. Fortunately, it took off and raced towards Willow again. This time, she was ready for it and she thrust her foot out. It connected with the wolf’s jaw and a loud snapping sound was heard before the werewolf began to whimper and growl in pain. It backed up a bit, taking a moment to process what had just happened and why its jaw was hurting. Willow didn’t give it time to. She sped toward the beast and hit it with another blow to the jaw. The kick sent it staggering to the side and it shook its head, still trying to understand. The redhead came at it again, this time sending a punch to its ribs, one after the other. The wolf yelped in pain again and fell to the floor.

Willow: Tara, try now.

The blonde immediately closed her eyes again and refocused her thoughts. The wolf got up off the floor, teeth bearing, growling. It was angry now. Sweat began to glisten on Tara’s forehead again, as she concentrated. Suddenly, the wolf stopped moving. It looked confused by this and locked eyes with Tara. It was as if it knew that she was the one doing this. Willow glanced over at Faith. Her eyes were cloudy, misty and her eyes were on the beast. Dark clouds loomed overhead and the faint roar of thunder that came every couple of seconds grew louder. The brunette’s body began to shake as she tried to control what she was doing and Tara was still concentrating hard on her thoughts and the beast in front of them. The wind picked up and sped around them, blowing their hair in a number of different directions.

Faith: Willow, move out of the way.

The redhead did as she was told and backed away from the wolf. As soon as she did this, a loud clap of thunder was heard and lightening streaked the sky, lighting it up. The wolf turned its head to look at the sky, but didn’t get the chance to look at it for that long. Faith put all of her energy into what she was doing and finally got the result she was hoping for. Another clap of thunder roared and in the blink of an eye, a lightening bolt flew from the sky and struck the wolf. It yowled in pain and then slumped to the floor, dead. Turning to look at Faith, Tara saw the brunette almost collapse and grabbed her quickly. The strength and concentration she had used to fuel her power had physically and mentally drained her.

Tara: Willow, a little help here.

Faith: No, it’s okay. I’m fine.

Faith tried to stand without Tara’s help, but immediately fell back into the blonde’s arms.

Tara: Yeah, real perky. Will?

The redhead walked towards the two girl and carefully picked Faith up.

Willow: Can you grab Buffy?

Tara: Sure.

Once Tara had picked Buffy up off the bench, they began walking back to Faith and Tara’s apartment, carrying the worn out girls in their arms.

Faith and Tara’s apartment: Next day

Willow and Tara were still in classes, so it was just Buffy, Faith and Wesley sitting in the living room of the apartment. They’d been talking for some time, going over the events of the night before and everything that happened. When Buffy had told him what had happened to her, he was quiet for a moment or too, then explained what it was that had happened.

Buffy: That’s my power? To give myself mind-shattering headaches?

Wesley: Your power is a very useful one. You’ve been given the ability to see things before they happen.

Buffy: I still can’t shoot fire from my wrists….

Faith: And you don’t want to. Painful.

Buffy: I see your painful and raise you my mind numbing agony.

Wesley: Buffy, just like the rest, your pain will dull and then disappear also.

Buffy: But until then, I still have to suffer the splitting headaches.

Wesley: Yes, but it’s the price you have to pay for being part of The Called ones.

Buffy: It sucks.

Wesley: Indeed it does, but it will be worth it. Don’t you think that suffering a little pain is worth it, knowing that you’ll be able to save lives because of it?

Buffy thought it over for a second before replying.

Buffy: Yeah, it is.

Wesley smiled, she had been easier to talk to than Faith had been when he told her.

Wesley: Well, now that’s settled, we can get back to the real problem right now.

Buffy and Faith sat, looking at him, expecting him to go off on another rant about werewolves, even though he had told them all they needed to know. The only thing that can kill them is their powers. No ordinary person could just walk up to one of the werewolves and kill them. They’d be shredded to pieces in seconds.

Wesley: The warehouse. We need to get it finished.

Well, i got this finished a lot sooner than i thought i would;) Here's an update, complete with training, working up a sweat, and naughty/vixen-y Tara:D

------------------------------------------------------------

Part Nineteen

The warehouse: One week later

Between college and job-hunting, none of the girls really had that much time on their hands, but somehow they’d managed to do it. Willow had called Xander and Oz in the hope that they’d be able to help and luckily for her, they had. Of course, there was no way she’d be able to ask them to do that and not tell them what was going on. Try explaining why you need to fix up this huge, old, warehouse that was practically falling apart and then explain why Wesley was dragging in chests of weapons. Xander had freaked a little, repeating “oh my god” over and over again. Oz had just sat there, sombre as ever and simply nodded. It had been hard work, but they’d done it. They’d fixed up the warehouse exactly how they wanted it. As you walked in through the huge steel doors at the front, there were two small sections off to the side were all the weapons and equipment were being kept. Then, in front there was a training area. More weapons lined the walls and a large, thick, blue mat lay on the floor. Willow’s training area. All the areas were basically the same, but with some differences so it would suit the needs of each of their powers. Finally at the back, there was a huge area that had everything the girls could ever need. Different kinds of training equipment had been set up and a number of weapons lined the walls again. More blue mats were lying to one side as well. Wesley had his own area that was filled with books and things he would need. All in all, everyone was very pleased with their work.

Willow and Tara had arrived home to an empty apartment, apart from Pitch who was curled up asleep on Faith’s bed, and after they took advantage of that, twice, they figured the rest of the gang would be at what now had been named “The Training House” Or, as Faith called it, “The House of Hard Labour”. When they got there, they found Buffy and Faith hard at work, working up a bit of a sweat.

Willow: Hi guys.

The brunette almost grunted a hello and Buffy only glanced up, flashing them a brief smile before returned her attention to the wooden, padded posts Xander had built for her and that she was slamming her fists and legs into. It turned out the computer wiz was quite the carpenter and he had built almost everything that was wooden in the training house. Including the chair Wesley was sitting on and the shelf he’d taken the book he was reading off. The Englishman looked up from his book and smiled at the two girls who had entered seconds before.

Wesley: Glad you could join us. We were afraid you wouldn’t know where we were.

Willow: Oh, well, you know, everyone’s spent pretty much all of their spare time here lately, so when we got home and you weren’t there we came straight here.

Faith: After a stop off at the bedroom.

Willow: Faith!

Faith: What? Come on. Your classes finished, like, an hour and a half ago, you went home to an empty apartment and didn’t turn up here for ages. We’re not stupid.

Willow: We could have stopped for coffee.

Buffy: You’d be as hyper as a five year old who’d found the sugar and if you had.

Willow: It still doesn’t mean that-

Faith: Will, stop trying to cover up. You can’t lie to save your life.

The redhead mumbled and Wesley had begun to clean his classes after Faith’s bedroom comment. Just then, Xander and Oz walked into the training house, admiring the new and improved warehouse they had helped clean up.

Oz: Hey.

Xander: Well, this place is certainly looking fine. Of course, all the hot and sweaty girls in here make it-

Tara: Xander.

Xander: Okay, this is me making with the shush.

Oz: This place looks really good.

Willow: Well, considering what it was like before, it’s like the Taj Mahal now.

Wesley: We did a wonderful job on the place.

Buffy and Faith came out of their training areas and they all looked at Wesley with raised eyebrows.

Wesley: What?

Faith: Okay, remind us all again what is was you actually did to help?

Wesley: Well, I uh, I found this place.

Buffy: Mmhmm, and?

Wesley: And I…. I helped fix the windows!

Faith: You nailed a few pieces of wood over a couple of windows. Apart from that, you’ve done nothing but sit around a read books.

Wesley: Yes, well, research is an essential part of my job.

Buffy: Uh huh. I’m gonna get back to training.

Faith: B, you up for a little girl on girl, one on one action?

Buffy: You should rephrase that before Xander’s head explodes.

Xander let out a nervous laugh.

Xander: Me? No. You’re my friends. My very hot, lesbian friends, but that has no effect on me what so ever.

Faith: Sure it doesn’t, computer boy. So B, You up for it?

Buffy: Yup. Do you wanna chose the weapons, or shall I?

Faith: I’ll choose this time.

Faith disappeared into the biggest training area at the back of the warehouse, emerging seconds later carrying two staffs.

Faith: Staffs okay with you?

Buffy nodded and made her way towards Faith. They heard a thud as Faith put one of the large blue mats onto the floor and then there was the sound of staffs knocking together as Buffy blocked one of Faith’s attacks.

Willow: Well, it looks like they’re both doing fine after the fight last week.

Wesley: I should hope so. The fighting will become more frequent, so healing quickly is important. As well as training.

He looked at Willow and the redhead rolled her eyes.

Willow: Okay, I can take a hint. I’ll start training.

Willow and Tara heading into their own training areas, leaving Xander, Oz and Wesley together.

Xander: Well, I….

He trailed off when he heard grunting and moaning coming from were Buffy and Faith were training.

Xander: I better go.

Oz: Yeah, we don’t want to have to clean his brains off the wall.

Riley’s Place

The gang finally had some time to spend together. All of them. Xander, Oz, Willow, Tara, Faith and Buffy. Wesley had decided against going out with them. He probably had a night in with his books planned. Riley had been only too happy to see them all again, maybe even more so than usual because Oz was with them. He strolled up to their table with a smile on his face.

Riley: How are my favourite customers this evening?

Faith: Fine.

Willow: A little tired from all they slay-

Tara: S-staying up late!

Willow: Yeah, staying up late.

Willow mentally slapped herself for almost letting it slip.

Riley: And just what has been keeping you girls up all night?

Willow: Uh….

Riley chuckled and shook his head.

Riley: I’m kidding.

Willow: Oh, right, kidding. Ha, ha.

Faith: Uh huh. Anyway, how’s our favourite bartender?

Riley: Ah, but I’m not exactly a bartender. I own the club and occasionally stand behind bar and serve drinks, but I’m not a bartender.

Faith rolled her eyes.

Faith: I was just asking how you are.

Riley: I’m good, actually. Thanks for asking.

Oz: The band’s great.

The group glanced over at the band that was playing live on the stage and Riley smiled at Oz’s interest.

Riley: This is only their second gig here, but I heard they were pretty good and the rumours were right.

Faith: Who are they?

Riley: I believe they’re called “Dingo’s Ate My Baby”.

Willow scrunched up her face when she heard their name.

Willow: What kind of name is that?

Oz: Well, it’s better than “My Baby Ate a Dingo”.

Willow: I guess. It’s still disturbing though.

Riley: I think it’s cool.

They all looked at the owner of the club.

Riley: It’s inventive. I like that in a band. They could have called themselves “The Band” or “Four” or something lame like that, but that would have been all too easy, so they went out on a limb. I admire that.

Oz: You think they’ll be up for signing on a guitarist?

Riley: You play?

Oz: A little. I’m not all that good, but-

Faith: He’s being modest.

Willow: Oz is amazing on the guitar!

Willow could have sworn she saw they spiky haired boy blush at the compliment.

Riley: Really? Well, you’ll have to give me a couple of lessons some time. I always wanted to learn how to play.

Oz: If you put in a good word for me with the band, we’ll call it a deal.

They exchanged smiles and Riley ran his hand through his longish blonde hair.

Riley: I’ll do that, but I better get back. Larry said he needs a hand behind the bar. See you later.

They said their goodbyes and Riley backed away from the table, smiling at Oz one last time before disappearing behind the bar. Faith couldn’t help but smirk as she watched. If Riley was any more obvious, he’d be sitting in Oz’s lap, drooling. Oz noticed the look on the brunette’s face and frowned slightly.

Oz: What?

Faith: You do realise he has the total hots for you, right?

Oz: Riley?

Faith: No, the ghost of Christmas past. Yes, Riley.

Oz’s expression never changed, he only shrugged, before taking a sip of his coke. Faith seemed almost confused by his reaction, but never said anything. The band on the stage began to play a slow song and Willow got up out of her seat. She looked down at Tara and smiled, holding her hand out.

Willow: Can I have this dance?

Tara’s crooked grin appeared, the one that almost knocked Willow off her feet every time she saw it, and she took her girlfriend’s hand.

Tara: I wouldn’t want to dance with anyone else.

Tara left her seat and she and Willow made their way to the dance floor. Willow draped her arms around the blonde’s neck and she felt her girlfriend’s arms encircle her waist. Willow smiled and rested her forehead against Tara’s.

Willow: You okay?

Tara: Never been better.

The redhead sighed and closed her eyes.

Tara: What about you?

Willow: Oh, I’m…. I’m not sure how I am. I mean, now, here with you, I couldn’t be happier….

Tara: But?

Willow: But I can’t help worrying about things.

Tara frowned slightly.

Tara: U-us things?

Willow shook her head quickly.

Willow: No, no. God no. This Called stuff. I mean, I know what my powers are and I can already kinda read minds and communicate telepathically, but I feel like I’m waiting for death or something.

Tara: What do you mean?

Willow: I’m just waiting for the big bang. The one that will give me the ability to change, and because I don’t know what to expect, if feels like I’ve been waiting forever.

Tara: It takes time, Will. Just like it did for everyone else. None of us have reached our full potential yet because we haven’t had out powers that long. You not being able to change yet isn’t worth worrying over.

Willow let Tara’s words sink in and smiled.

Willow: You’re right. It’s not. Besides, I kind of like the powers I have now. All with the super strength and mind reading, it’s cool and doesn’t hurt all that much.

Tara: Well, lets test out that mind reading power of yours.

Tara flashed Willow a sexy smile and the redhead almost fainted then and there, as the blonde moved forward to whisper in her ear.

Tara: Do you know what I’m thinking right now?

Tara tugged lightly on the redhead’s earlobe, sending shivers down Willow’s spine. She moved her hands so they were in line with the bottom of her girlfriend’s tank top and slowly slipped them underneath, running her fingers up and down Willow’s back, teasingly.

Willow: Uh, T…. Tara….

The redhead was having difficultly speaking and her thoughts were, at that moment, limited to “Tarahand”. Tara moved closer, pressing her body up against Willow’s and kissed her deeply, before pulling her head back slightly so she was looking at the redhead, who had now closed her eyes.

Tara: Well, what am I thinking?

Willow You…. You expect me to…. Be able to concentrate?

Tara smirked and moved her hands to Willow’s sides and inched them further up. She spoke again, slower.

Tara: Look at me and tell me what I’m thinking.

The redhead’s eyes fluttered open and she looked into Tara’s. The depth and beauty of them always amazed her. She tried her hardest to concentrate and after a moment, got it. Tara’s face broke out in another sexy smile when she realised this.

Tara: Well?

Willow: I don’t think the cubicles in the toilet are big enough for that.

Tara: We’ll just have to go and find out then.

The blonde leaned in again to whisper in Willow’s ear.

Tara: Now.

Without saying anything, Willow grabbed Tara’s hand and dragged her off the dance floor in the direction of the toilets.

Faith and Buffy noticed this and grinned at each other before they started giggling.

Faith: If those two carry on like this, I’m going to have to keep them in separate rooms before they tire each other out or kill each other.

Xander’s eyes were glued to the dance floor that Willow and Tara had just left, after seeing what had happened. After a few failed attempts at getting his attention, Faith slumped back into her seat.

Faith: I think they broke Xander.

She glanced over at her friend.

Faith: Xand, you’re drooling on your shoe.

“Sleep well baby?” Willow asked, a little more pep in her voice now that she had a dose of morning caffeine.
