A BIG warning

Apparenlty the rules weren't clear enough.

You MAY NOT repost anything on this board anywhere else

If you do, I will remove your access to this board. No questions asked. I will remove anyone, it doesn't matter to me who you are or how much you've posted or what you are contributing. I have done it and I will do it again.

Just a couple of questions to clarify:

Does that include our own posts? Say I've written a lengthy critique of an episode here and I decide I want to post it in Usenet as well, is that a problem?

Also, does it include things like the rating information from Media Week and so on?

Your own posts are your own deal. Anything else, no.

Ok, I know I’m an ass just for asking this, but I mean you or the Kitten board no offence. I also have no intention of braking this rule, make no mistake, if you say so than so it is. But… why?

I mean, there might be stuff here that I think would be of interest to an Israeli forum I attended regularly, and I would probably like to take it to them. Is this to protect Joss Whedon and the show? To prevent spoiling it for other people? Please tell me.

Again I say, I’m not going to brake this rule as long as you stand behind it, I just want to know.

Well, I'm not one of the mods, obviously, but I think it's fairly simple. This is a private forum. If people (especially the mods) wanted the stuff here made more public, they would have set it up that way, or posted in a more public forum. And I really doubt it has anything to do with "protecting" JW or the show. More about giving the Kittens who want to discuss S7 a safe harbor. Taking other people's posts public without their consent goes against that.

It is about protecting the privacy of this board and the kittens. There are many reasons this is private. First, kittens are attacked for their views, so we keep it private. Second we got trolled for spoilers, so we made it private.

I don't want people to decide what is appropriate to repost and what isn't. It just ALL is private. People post information here with the understanding that it is for kitten eyes only, it is not fair if anyone else decides that they want to make it public.

One more question: Does that apply to the entirety of the board, or just the Season seven section?

just season 7, though i would think it's only polite to ask someone if they mind their personal post reposted somewhere since they might want to reply.

Of course, and I would never do that without doing so. Thanks.

Oh I know you wouldn't but you'd be surprised at what some people think is ok.

No. I wouldn't. I had it done to me and I saw it done to others on a board which will not be mentioned, but you probably know what I mean.

I don't think I've been posting stuff from here in the other boards. But, if I have, I apologize.

Kudos!!!

A quick question -

Suppose someone types up an article that is not yet available online (like from the latest EW, for example). Are we allowed to repost the quotes from the article elsewhere? Of course reposting commentary about the article would be a big no-no, but what about the text of the article itself?

Just thought I'd check...

Yeah I mean that sounds ok to me, might want to ask the person who typed it up, if it was transcribed.
