New Year’s, people show off their ability to count backwards, then there are cheers and my walls start to shake and the floor vibrates with 10 minutes of nonstop banging.
I was brushing my teeth. Toothpaste has blue in it, you know what doesn’t? Firework colours.
Why save the blue in the year for blue Monday. Let’s get the ball rolling before someone’s shed gets burnt down due to pretty fire in the sky.
Turns out there is a butt load of science involved in those bang booms. Due to the temperature needed to create blue flame it is extremely difficult to create a blue firework.

Catherine Wheel – Spins on the spot throwing sparks into its surroundings.
Whistler – You hear it coming and it still goes off with a bang
Dud – You light the fuse but it doesn’t go off.
Waterfall – A cascade of colourful embers.
Floor Fury – The fireworks that don’t go up into the sky but seems to furiously go off while on the ground.
Sparkler – Kid friendly pyromania.
Dahlia – Few lines but spreads far
Multi Break Shell – Boom but then the booms boom.
Farfalle – A clap of fire in the sky.
Fish – A smattering of lights fizzling out.
Peony – The classic up and boom.
Salute – See more smoke than firework
Brocade – The initial bang followed by a slow falling of lights.
Other – Someone who knows what they're talking about will have better options than these.
