We all need back up from time to time.
Be it a film cop two days away from retirement in a shootout. Emotional support when flushing your goldfish or just needing people much worse than you to stumble and mumble behind you, giving the impression that you’re sensational.
Occasionally you also get one that dances into a structural straight. They showed up with bra straps around their heels, should have expected it.
But they are never the stars, no one interviews them after. Their picture isnt on the promo posters or album covers. Just a name too small to read or gone in a blink as the credits roll.
Which brings us to this week’s poll:
Whose backing performers felt more redundant at the end?
Alyson’s Guitarist – An orchestra playing over them. The camera focusing purely on the dancing. Not even given a little platform but left on the stage steps.
Tara’s Backup Dancers – The witches go poof and now you’re awkwardly staring at a stranger you just synchronised bodies with.
Tara's backing dancers.
When they are tossing and turning at night, their mind will go the inevitable question, 'What happened in that park?'
The guitarist will be thanked, paid and some clout at their next high school reunion.
