Cut Lines

I think its fair to say we all want more Willow and Tara content. But the natural script to screen process means things get cut and over the series there were a few lines and scenes cut of Tara and Willow dialog.

Which cut part would you most like to see on screen?

Hush -

WILLOW
Well, I thought we made
a pretty good team --
not getting killed at all....
with some soda machine, boom!
Pretty cool. Seems like you're
kinda powerful.

TARA
I'd like to be. I feel like
I'm stuck. Like I'm at the
door and it won't open.

WILLOW
I know exactly what you mean.

Blood Ties -

WILLOW
Where would you go? If you felt lost
and alone? Where would you go?

TARA
(a beat)
To you.

Willow takes Tara in her arms and hugs her tight.

Dead Things -

BUFFY
You don't know how hard it is. Lying
to everyone you love about who you're
sleeping with.

TARA
(smiling kindly)
Sweetie, I'm a fag. I been there.

Seeing Red 1 - She kisses Tara. It quickly segues into grand passion. Buffy and Dawn are swept away in the joy of their rekindled romance. They hug each other, then quickly become aware of how maudlin they're being. They shift into a good natured mock-a-rama.

DAWN
(to Buffy, overblown)
Oh I love you so much!

BUFFY
(overblown)
I love you more!

They shower each other with mock loud kissage. Willow and Tara laugh.

WILLOW
Okay. We'll stop.

DAWN
You better not.

BUFFY
We're just jealous. True love.

DAWN
Marriage.

BUFFY
Baby carriage.

DAWN
(eyeing Willow and Tara)
How does that one work exactly?

Seeing Red 2 -

TARA
(playing along)
What about the Trio's evil scheme?

WILLOW
Kinda busy working on my own...

She grins seductively, disappearing under the covers. Tara giggles -- then gasps in pleasure.

TARA
Evil's... good.

I haven't read through them all but all the shooting scripts are on this site, Its a treasure trove. I only found out about the Blood Ties cut scene from Fic Club prep and I only found out about the first Seeing Red one from scrolling for the second Seeing Red cut line. Its very possible there are more within the scripts.

I'm not doing an all the above option because we all know everyone is clicking it.

I am doing an other option, If choosing a Willow cut line please keep it between Hush and the "Yes ma'am" of Seeing Red. If you could also post the script line in the comments if choosing other. Thankyou.

I'm pleased the Hush one got cut. I'm not a fan of Tara seeking out power. It would also muddy the waters later down the line in the series six conflict.

I learnt about the Blood Ties one two days ago and I'm fuming it was cut. that is the perfect predecessor to "I got so lost" "I will always find you"

I feel the Dead Things one is needed because of the coming out joke at the start of Older and Far away however I don't like Tara using the word Fag. I think Tara has come along way in standing up for herself at this point in her overall arc and so she wouldn't use a slur word to describe herself. I think she would say gay and own it. It could be argued that using Fag could show Buffy that she knows how people can be disgusted with her but I want Tara to stand up for Tara, not lower herself to make someone else feel better. She can do that just by being herself. (I've internally debated this one word change a lot.)

Seeing Red 1 - I've only just learnt of it. I want to see it. The family unit of Willow, Tara, Dawn and Buffy is precious. It would have felt like a happy sequel to the "You're my always" scene at the end of Tough Love, which is my favourite scene in the whole show.

Seeing Red 2 - Its two seconds, just let them have it, we've seen enough of Spike and Buffy and it would have been a nice display of a loving relationship right before the dreaded bathroom scene.

I have to go for Seeing Red 1 but a bees dick behind is Blood Ties.

Also HATE the idea of Tara calling herself a fag.
