The scoobies are named so due to the comparisons to the mystery Inc crew.
I don't think there is any debate that Willow is Velma but I cant quite put my finger on who Tara would be.
Through method of deduction she is left as Shaggy for me.
There is that theory that Tara was a stoner the whole time but I think that's loosely based due to a stoner character Amber played in a film got cut and not due to proper indications in the show. but Shaggy is a stoner.
She is also the target of many a foe, Shaggy seems to be too.
Other than that and a particular series of Scooby-Doo where Velma and Shaggy date. That's all I got and where she slots in to where i'd put everyone else. and Shaggy is my favourite.
Fred - Buffy
Daphne - Anya
Velma - Willow
Shaggy - Tara
Scooby - Xander
Scrappy - Dawn
The guy always going the opposite way at the start of the episode warning them away from the place but 90% of the time turns out to be the monster - Giles
Reoccurring fan favourite monster e.g. Miner forty-Niner - Spike
Line up kind of works based on very loose characteristics but not entirely friendships unless Daphne does get with a dog and Tara and Xander are besties where Tara gets fined if she doesn't pick up is excrement.
I did think the Hex girls maybe but they're their own little group who occasionally team up with Mystery Inc. so counter part wouldn't be the scoobies.
