In an Alt Universe, Who would Willow/Tara hang out with?

Okay, I realize that is the most horribly stated question ever. Anyway, reading fanfic, I almost always see that Tara is Faith's friend and Willow is Buffy's friend. I wondered if anybody had any thoughts on who Willow and Tara would hang out with of the Canon characters (recurring guest-stars like Faith are okay) if they didn't meet like they did on the show. Tell why you chose who you did. I guess you could choose based on who you think would be the most interesting or the most realistic or whatever. It's my first poll...so...uh, be gentle.

I took Anya! They just fit perfectly together, when Anya isnt her Anya self:p They had some great moments together and to see Tara with Faith, hmm well that would be wrong, cuz Faith is more outgoing and well just not so "shy" like Tara is/was!

I chose Buffy.

I think if Buffy had noticed that Tara was all shy & didn't have that many friends she probably would have made an effort to take Tara under her wing & get to know her, much as she did with Willow in S1 of the show.

I chose Dawn. Tara just...has that nuturing side to her and I think that she'd be looking after dawn.

I don't know....I think Tara and Giles might hang out together in an alternate universe....they both are very intelligent and I think Tara mentioned once about wanting to visit England.

I picked Anya, mostly because I see them as having a good rapport together from canon, and their two different personalities would complement each other well, I think. Anya would say outrageous things, and Tara would laugh, and Tara would see into Anya's inner self and be a sounding board for her, and Anya would appreciate that, not sharing her inner self with most people.

That's how I'm writing their friendship in UberCon, anyway, which is probably why I voted for Anya!

ETA: Oh, and I didn't peek at the results - seems that 37% of the voters agree!

I would say Buffy because in the episode Family she really stood up for Tara which says she cares about her and in the 6th season the become closer friends and they just fit together.

I kind of wanted to say Spike, because - correct me if I'm wrong (I still haven't seen every episode) - Tara was the only person who was ever nice to him. Aside from that, though, I don't know that Tara would really "hang around" anyone even remotely like Spike. If it's AU, though, what about Spike before he became a vampire? I could see Tara hanging out with pre-vamp Spike.

To be perfectly honest, though, I don't really see Tara hanging out with ANY of the Scoobies. Except Willow. Tara really is kind of a loner, and I don't think any of the Scoobies had it in them to truly reach her.

Funny, I never thought about this before. She really is a surprisingly interesting character.

I choose Faith! In all the fics I've read where Tara and Faith hang out, it seems like something that could happen. I think Faith's confidence can help Tara with her shyness, and the two of them can really be in balance.

On the basis of their personalities as depicted on the show, I feel it would be like a sweet sister-bonding relationship that would last through Dawn's adult years. And it makes me identify to a similar kind of relationship I currently have with a 16 year old girl I met in 2005

I chose Faith mainly because of a lot of the fanfic out there, and also my best friends are total opposites from me and some how that really works i think it would be the same for those 2

I definitely say Faith... Faith is a really deep character... she has a lot of things a little out of whack, but I think deep down she's a pretty alright woman. I've always thought that Tara and Faith would get along because Tara has the patience, gentleness, compassion and kindred spirit that could possibly reach Faith. And I think in return, Faith would want to protect someone like Tara. So it just always made sense to me that these two people, who have less than perfect childhoods, would be able to bound over their common pasts and build a friendship that would last, just like Willow and Buffy's friendship.

I said Dawn because I think that she would be the most likely candidate for a friend of Tara's, but given the choice I would like to pair faith and Tara up just because. Seriously?! How hot would that be!!!!!!!!!!!

the natural pick for me is Dawn, because they are so sweet together and Dawn truly sees tara as a mother figure or someone to look up to. Although I could also see Anya there as well. When they hide together in bargaining you can really see there relationship, especially when they come back to the magic box and worry that willow and xander are in trouble.

I voted for anya, because it would be her or Dawn, butI think it wouldnt be in an alternative universe that Tara hung up with Dawn i mean it did happen.

I think Tara and anya would be good friends, because its like, Tara is good listening and anya is "good" talking, besides in the gang, Buffy and Xander were not so honest or so friendly with Tara, they just had her there but never treated or talked to her like a real friend. Anya is honest I think that is what Tara would like in a friend.
I would say it would be imposible that Tara and Faith would be friends, just cant imagine that.
Xander could be her friend like he is willow`s friend, but not of both of them I dont know why, but is what I feel thinking about everything in the show.
I dont see Tara and Giles like friends, just see them like they are.

Well I think thats all, cant imagine other alternatives universes just the one I said.
