i think everyone should be entitled to the same rights as everybody else, shouldnt matter if your gay or lesbian .if you love someone enough to want to commit the rest of your life to that person then you should be allowed to

I hate that homosexuals cannot have the same marriage privileges as heterosexuals. there are over 1000 rights that homosexuals are missing out on. Marriage rates are at an all time low. 1 out of 2 marriages are likely to end. So why not let homosexuals marriage rights. Maybe it could change for the better.

Once again the fact that there even is such a thing as an argument about that issue proves that fear makes people crazy.

Some people actually fear that allowing us to marry normally would endanger marriage. Hello? What does the fact that people who couldn't marry now can change about marriage?

And then there are the guys who say that it's unnatural...alright...I doubt that they know that among animals - especially primates like chimps - homosexual behaviour is normal ( mainly used to relieve tensions and to relax). So what exactly is unnatural?

*sigh*I just don't get that kind of stupidity*

see - i dnt really mind but i think that there should be something. if it was marriage tho ud have to be religious so there would have to be something else also for people who werent religious. I also dnt like the sound of a civil union - it sounds so formal and just.......... personally i would rather have some sort of bonding ceremony outside to do with nature........... that doesnt really count as either marriage or civil union does it?

It should definitely be civil-unions for gay and straight couples. Marriage is a sacrament. Fuck it. I don't need it. All I want is the rights, and that's how it should be for everyone. The government should only recognize it as a civil-union. *shrug* That's just my opinion, though.

Sorry...I think I may have gotten a little carried away...*blush*

i think the idea of marriage is outdated

for most people, religion doesnt come into it - yet they still have religious ceremony...

religious ceremony's should be available for the religious, for anyone not religious then they should be given the legal rights in some way or another (i would say by civil unions but doesnt sound very nice...call it something else then ill like it more ^_^)

whether the couple is hetero or straight shouldnt come into it at all - has nothing to do with anything in my opinion - if a church says its against their religion to hold a religious ceremony then i guess its their call, dont have to force them, but for churches that dont discriminate, holding a same-sex marriage should not be an issue.

Marriage? Civil unions? Not interested in either.

That's the way I stand, I'm not interested in either I don't particularly want religion involved in the process of telling someone I love them, I'd rather just tell them and prove it to them in my own way.

But, to other people such a process is important and I respect that, I'd back the fight for gay marriges to be legalised because everybody should have the option to marry if they want to!

I'm not sure I worded all that properly, but anyway.... :)

i beileve we should have the rights and privledges that the government provides to all heterosexual couples. to discriminate is unconstitutional. quite frankly i would like the recognized rights to make important decisions for my partner, among other things. (i know this topic has been floating around on the board awhile...better to post late than never)

I'd say "Civil Unions" for everyone. If you can get "married" by a judge why bring religion into it if you don't want to...? I understand and respect that to some, marrage is a sacred act between two people who whan to live together and maybe raise a family. Its meant to keep a couples focus on the "family" once the children arrive and priorities shift from the perspective of a couple to a family (and baby makes three).

A person's orientation shouldn't suggest that they can't be loving, caring and supportive to a child. More that not, I'd think that a child would learn tolarance, perspective and empathy from such a person.

I believe in marrage in principle but I also believe there are folks who shouldn't marry. Not becuause of their orientation, but because they are not ready to commit to such a long term relationship, which marrage is supposed to be...

i say same rights for all! it shouldent matter if your gay or straight, if you truley love some it shouldent matter if they are the same sex. in the end it boils down to how you feel towards the other person. and for the people who say its wrong for two people of the same sex to be together i say Go fuck yourself you are being a close minded, incompitant asshole. now, i know there is know on this site who thinks this way because if there was then they cant call themselves willow and tara fans. anyways i guess i got alittle carried away but i say love who you choose to love and if anyone says anything about it, just know that they are being close minded and know that you have done nothing wrong.

Love is Love. If marridge is meant to symbolize love than everyone should be allowed to marry whom they want, without exception.
